Hey TVO kids!

Can you believe summer is already wrapping up? I had such an amazing vacation, and I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!

We had a lot of hot days this summer, so I was extra excited to hop on the ferry to the Toronto Islands for my friend's birthday party! 🚢☀️

As we cruised across the water, we had a surprise waiting with us on board… a super cute picnic packed with yummy treats! 🧺🍓🎂. We spent the whole afternoon playing games, and yep, I might’ve snuck in some interstellar ideas from The Game Catchers 👾 (everyone loved them!)

I went on a super cool camping retreat with my church ⛪️ and had the BEST time ever! I made awesome new friends 👫, relaxed in nature 🌲, and got to try fun activities. Have you ever gone kayaking? It was awesome to explore the lake and have some adventuring time 🧭. Then it was all about teaming up with my new friends for a thrilling game of Capture the Flag 🏁 - because teamwork totally makes the dream work! 🤝✨

Some of my favourite memories I made were at the beach with family and friends. Swimming, sandcastles, and SOOOO much ice cream. I even came up with a hilarious joke for you. Why did the treasure hunters visit Kangaroo Beach? Because they were looking for a Gemm-a! Haha Frizzy would love that one.

Ok Toronto Islands ✅ Camping ✅, Beach ✅ was there anything else cool I did this summer? Oh yeah! I went mini-putting with my friends ⛳️. That’s right I’m a triple threat - TVOkids host, reading enthusiast, mini-putter. Though…I wouldn’t recommend trying to do all three at the same time.

Summer’s cool but as your TVOkids host It’s my job to get you excited to go back to school! I'll be with you all year long, bringing the fun, the learning, and PLENTY of hilarious jokes! 😄📚🎉

Wait! I almost forgot. There’s one more thing I need to do to make this summer the best one yet. I need to hear about your adventures too!

Hey TVO kids! I’m Gabrielle, your new TVOkids host, and today was my very first day on the job!

I am beyond excited to be a part of The Space and get to share fun and cool adventures with all of you! What will those awesome adventures be you might be wondering? Well, my friends, you’ll just have to tune in and find out. But trust me, we are going to have so much fun because I love to have a great time!

When I first walked on set, I was blown away! It looked SO cool! The colours, the props, the music! It was so magical and lively! I had a wardrobe fitting, where I got to try on different clothes, like shirts and jackets and sweaters. I even got a sneak peek at some amazing costumes and can’t wait to be a princess for a day, or should I be a detective? Oh I know! I should be dinosaur that way I know we’ll have a roaring good time!

In my job I work with a group of people called a crew. They are all super nice and really encouraging which helps me feel comfortable enough to be ME! I got to practice my lines with the crew and maybe made one or two goofy faces at the camera. I also got to help plan fun and educational parts of the show just for YOU!

And guess what? One of my favourite shows from when I was a kid, is still airing on TVOkids! Can you guess which one it is? Drum roll please…🥁…🥁…🥁..it’s Arthur! I love that show. It’s so funny and DW is hilarious. She is an icon, and a legend and a little sister, just like me.

Now that I’ve got my first day under my belt and you’ve gotten to know a little bit more about me, I cannot wait to have fun with you! We’ll read books, play games, make crafts, go on adventures and more! I’ve already had so much fun on my first day and I can’t wait to keep having more fun!
