Episode 9 - Waffle and the Good Dog

Simon tries Doug's latest invention, a pair of slipper finding goggles but there's a commotion at the front door. It's Jess, returning home with Waffle who is chasing Mrs Hobbs' cat, George. Mrs Hobbs is not pleased. The doorbell rings and Jess remembers she's invited the Essams and their extremely well- behaved dog, Baxter, who she hopes will teach Waffle how to be good! While Doug and Evie play with Poppy and Rowan Essam upstairs, their parents, Zack and Sophia share their top dog training tips with Jess and Simon in the garden. Meanwhile, Waffle encourages Baxter to enjoy mischievous fun in the kitchen. The pair begin licking dirty plates and then dig through the tunnel to Mrs Hobbs' house next door. While Mrs Hobbs vacuums obliviously, Waffle and Baxter chew her slippers. Undetected, they escape back through the tunnel to the Brooklyn-Bells' house and find Doug, Evie, Poppy and Rowan bouncing on the bed. It looks so much fun - Simon, Waffle and Baxter join in! Zack and Sophia are not impressed and leave in a hurry, taking Poppy, Rowan and Baxter with them. Reflecting on the day, the Brooklyn-Bells acknowledge that Waffle didn't learn from Baxter. If anything, Waffle taught Baxter how to be naughty! The doorbell rings and it's Mrs Hobbs posting her chewed slippers through the letterbox. She believes George chewed them thanks to Waffle's bad influence. But Jess knows better, and Waffle confesses to going through the tunnel into Mrs Hobbs' house with Baxter. Simon and Jess realise they need to block up the tunnel once and for all but can Waffle sneak one more journey through it, before it's blocked up for good?
