Kids sing MAKE IT, MISTER MAKER!
The song ends.
The opening slate shows the title "Mister Maker" spelled out with colourful letters.
Now, a young man appears. He is in his twenties, and has short brown hair. He wears a turquoise t-shirt, a brown vest with big multi-coloured polka dots, a beige jacket, and blue trousers.
Mister Maker is playing paddle ball.
Mister Maker says 97, 98, 99,
100, YAY!
He stops playing and looks at the screen.
Mister Maker says OH, HELLO, THERE.
GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN.
I'VE JUST BEATEN MY RECORD OF
BOUNCES.
He raises his arms in excitement.
He continues
LET'S SEE IF I CAN DO ANY
BETTER.
ALL RIGHT, HERE WE GO.
READY?
ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE-
OH!
He begins bouncing the ball but it breaks free from the paddle. It bounces into a plate of pink paint.
[splats]
Mister Maker exclaim
OH, OH!
The ball continues to bounce all over the room leaving splat prints wherever it lands.
The ball bounces onto Mister Maker’s coat.
Mister Maker exclaims
OH, DEAR!
DEAR, DEAR - OH, WOW, WHAT A
LOT OF SPLATS!
The entire room and floor are covered in pink paint.
Mister Maker says HMM...
LOTS OF SPLATS.
THAT GIVES ME A GREAT IDEA.
A picture of a light bulb flashes on the screen.
[bell dings]
Mister Maker says LET'S TRY SOMETHING.
TRY MAKING A BRILLIANT
BOUNCING BALL PAINTING, AND
CREATE YOUR OWN SPLAT ART.
LET'S MAKE IT!
Now a picture of a canvas filled with pink splats is shown.
He continues
WE'LL NEED SOME THINGS FROM
THE DOODLE DRAWERS.
[Music Plays]
He runs to a large wall of drawers filed with random items.
Mister Maker says SOME TENNIS BALLS.
SOME WATER AND A BOWL.
A TOY SKELETON - AH!
OH, WE DON'T NEED ONE OF
THOSE.
SOME PAINT.
AND SOME PAPER.
He grabs all of the items from different drawers and places them on a table.
He continues
NOW, IT'S BEST TO DO THIS
OUTSIDE, AS IT CAN GET A BIT
MESSY.
AND IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO PUT ON
SOME OLD CLOTHES OR AN APRON.
Mister Maker ducks down. A moment later he jumps up and is wearing orange overalls.
Mister Maker walks to the table full of objects. A yellow piece of paper full of splat is sitting on the table.
Mister Maker says HMM.
NOW, TO MAKE YOUR VERY OWN
SPLAT PICTURE, LIKE THIS ONE
HERE, YOU FIRST HAVE TO PUT
YOUR PAPER ON THE FLOOR.
He places a sheet of paper on the floor and says NOW, WE'RE READY TO MAKE A
PAINTY MIXTURE.
SO GET YOURSELF A BOWL AND
FILL IT WITH HALF PAINT AND
HALF WATER.
[Music Plays]
AND NOW, GIVE IT A MIX SO
IT'S NICE AND RUNNY.
He stirs his mixture of pink paint and water.
[whirring, dinging]
Mister Makes looks at the final product and says THERE.
AND NOW, WE'RE READY FOR THE
REALLY FUN AND REALLY MESSY
BIT.
NOW, LET'S GET A TENNIS BALL.
THERE WE GO.
AND PUT IT INTO THE BOWL.
LET THE BALL SOAK UP ALL THE
PAINTY MIXTURE.
ROLL IT AROUND.
He grabs a tennis ball and covers it in the paint mixture.
Mister Maker says THERE WE GO.
AND WHEN IT'S FULL, PICK IT
UP, AND WE'RE READY TO GO.
HERE WE GO.
He bounces the ball onto the piece of paper and catches it. The ball makes a round splat on the paper.
Mister Maker exclaims
OOH OOH!
LOOK AT THAT.
WHAT A GREAT EFFECT.
LET'S DO ANOTHER ONE.
HO HO!
AND YOU CAN DO AS MANY SPLATS
AS YOU LIKE.
He bounces the tennis ball repeatedly until the entire sheet of paper is covered in splats.
He shouts
FANTASTIC!
LET'S DO A BIG ONE!
A giant piece of black paper magically appears on the ground. Multiple tennis balls as well as owls of blue, yellow, and green paint mixture magically appear on the table.
Mister Maker says OOH.
YOU CAN USE AS MANY BOWLS AND
AS MANY COLOURS AS YOU LIKE.
YOU CAN EVEN GET A FRIEND TO
HELP YOU.
A second Mister Maker materializes.
Mister Maker turns to his twin and says OOH, FANCY SOME SPLAT ART,
MISTER MAKER?
The second Mister Maker says DON'T MIND IF
I DO, MISTER MAKER.
[Music Plays]
They begin grabbing tennis balls, roll them around in paint and bounce them on the sheet of paper until it is full of splats.
Mister Maker says THAT WAS GREAT FUN.
DOESN'T IT LOOK FANTASTIC?
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A GO.
BYE, MISTER MAKER.
Mister Maker says BYE!
The second Mister Maker waves and disappears in a flash of colourful lights.
[snoring]
Mister Maker looks around and asks
WHAT'S THAT NOISE?
HMM...
He takes off his orange overalls and walks into a white room full of art supplies.
[snoring]
Mister Maker says WHO'S THAT SNORING?
THESE ARE THE SHAPES.
Four shapes are sleeping on a top shelf.
[snoring]
Mister Maker says AH, THEY'RE ASLEEP.
I'VE GOT AN IDEA.
LET'S WAKE THEM UP!
[snores]
RISE AND SHINE.
COME ON.
Mister Maker grabs a colourful feather duster and runs it over each shape’s face.
[spluttering sounds]
He chuckles as they all wake up.
Mister Maker walks out of the room and says TAKE IT AWAY.
The Shapes all jump down from the top shelf and shout WHOA, HEY!
WHEE!!
A song plays
The shapes sing
I'M A SHAPE
LA LA LA LA
I'M A SHAPE
LA LA LA LA
The circle sings I AM A CIRCLE
The triangle sings I AM A TRIANGLE
The square sings I AM A SQUARE
The rectangle sings I AM A RECTANGLE
They all sing I AM A SHAPE
The triangle sings I AM A TRIANGLE
Mister Maker says HOW MANY
TRIANGLES CAN YOU COUNT?
The images changes to a desert with three pyramids and a camel with two triangle ears and a hump with one large red triangle surrounded by three yellow triangles.
Mister Maker counts ONE, TWO,
THREE, FOUR,
FIVE, SIX,
SEVEN, EIGHT,
NINE, TEN.
THERE ARE TEN TRIANGLES.
WELL DONE, TRIANGLE.
NOW, IT'S TIME TO GET BACK ON
THE SHELF.
The shapes all fly back to the top of the shelf
The Shapes say WHOO!!
HEE HEEE!
[yawning]
[snoring]
The shapes all fall asleep.
Mister Maker says I JUST LOVE
THE SHAPES.
THEY'RE SO FUNNY.
DID YOU SEE IT WHEN-
A puppet of a bird comes out of a clock. It has yellow feathers and a big beak.
Tocky says TOCKY HERE!
MINUTE-MAKE TIME!
Mister Maker says OOH, IT'S
MINUTE-MAKE TIME.
COME ON.
[Music Plays]
IT'S MINUTE-MAKE TIME.
AND HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO
MAKE TODAY.
LOOK AT THIS.
IT'S A HILARIOUS HAIRBAND.
A JOKE ARROW THROUGH THE HEAD.
He places a hairband over the top of his head. It looks like an arrow is going through one side of his head and out the other.
Mister Maker says IT WILL REALLY MAKE YOUR
FRIENDS LAUGH.
NOW, TO MAKE ONE OF THESE, YOU
WILL NEED TWO THIN STRIPS OF
BROWN CARD,
SOME GREY CARD,
SOME RED CARD,
A HAIRBAND,
SOME SCISSORS,
A PEN,
SOME GLUE,
AND SOME STICKY TAPE.
NOW, DO YOU THINK IT'S
POSSIBLE TO MAKE THIS IN JUST
ONE MINUTE?
He points to all the material sitting on the table.
Tocky says NOT A CHANCE.
Mister Maker says LET'S FIND OUT.
I'M GOING TO HAVE TO MOVE
VERY QUICKLY.
BUT DON'T WORRY, I'LL REMIND
YOU HOW TO DO IT AT THE END.
ARE YOU READY?
LET'S MAKE IT IN A MINUTE.
START THE CLOCK!
A small clock appears on the bottom left hand of the screen. The second hand begins to move around clockwise.
Mister Maker says RIGHT, LET'S GET THE RED
CARD AND DRAW TWO SLOPING
RECTANGLES THAT FACE EACH
OTHER LIKE THAT.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BACK
OF OUR ARROW.
I'M GOING TO HAVE TO
CUT THIS OUT.
Tocky says BE CAREFUL!
Mister Maker says DON'T
WORRY, TOCKY, I WILL.
THERE WE GO.
AROUND LIKE THAT.
AND LIKE THAT.
THERE WE GO.
OOH OOH.
AND NOW I NEED TO CUT OUT
SOMETHING FROM THE GREY.
THAT'S A TRIANGLE SHAPE.
Tocky says FASTER, FASTER!
Mister Maker says I'M GOING
AS QUICK AS I CAN.
THERE WE GO.
NOW, I NEED SOME GLUE AND
THESE STRIPS HERE.
RIGHT.
COME ON GLUE, THERE WE ARE.
THERE'S SOME GLUE THERE.
AND THEN SOME GLUE ON THIS
SIDE THERE.
THERE WE GO.
RIGHT.
NOW I NEED SOME TAPE AND THE
HAIRBAND.
RIGHT, LET'S PUT THAT BIT
THERE, AND THEN JUST FIT IT
AROUND HERE, IF WE CAN.
THERE WE GO.
OH, I'M NEARLY DONE, I'M
NEARLY DONE.
NOW, I NEED THIS BIT HERE
AROUND HERE LIKE THAT.
I DID IT!
He places the hairband on top of his head.
[bell ringing]
Tocky says ONLY JUST.
Mister Maker says WHEW.
HILARIOUS HAIRBANDS MADE IN A
MINUTE.
AND IF YOU'VE GOT MORE THAN A
MINUTE, YOU COULD TRY
DIFFERENT DESIGNS.
OH, LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR
BUNCHES AND PINK BOWS.
A puff of smoke appears on top of his head around the arrow hairband. A hairband of two brown locks of hair with pink bows appears.
Mister Maker says OR HOW ABOUT COW HORNS AND COW
EARS.
There is another puff of smoke. The hairband is now two cow horns.
Mister Maker says VERY MOOVING - HA HA HA HA HA.
HILARIOUS HAIRBANDS MADE IN A
MINUTE.
WHY DON'T YOU TRY IT.
OH, HERE'S A REMINDER OF HOW
TO DO IT.
[Music Plays]
The events of the past minute are rewound.
Mister Maker says LET'S GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING
AND TAKE ANOTHER LOOK.
DRAW TWO SLOPING RECTANGLE
SHAPES FACING EACH OTHER ON
THE RED CARD.
DRAW A TRIANGLE ON THE GREY
CARD AND CUT EVERYTHING OUT.
GLUE THEM TO YOUR THIN BROWN
STRIPS OF CARD.
AND THEN TAPE THE BROWN STRIPS
TO THE HEADBAND.
THEN YOUR FUNNY HEADBAND IS
COMPLETE.
WHY DON'T YOU TRY MAKING IT IN
A MINUTE.
A group of kids in caps are standing behind a window.
The kids shout HELLO, MISTER MAKER!
GUESS WHAT WE'RE MAKING TODAY.
Mister Maker says I DON'T KNOW.
I WONDER WHAT THEY ARE MAKING
TODAY.
[Music Plays]
The kids run around a white screen.
A girl in a red shirt says I'M RED.
A girl in an orange shirt says I AM ORANGE.
A girl in a purple shirt says I AM PURPLE.
A girl in a pink shirt says I AM PINK.
A boy in a yellow shirt says I'M YELLOW.
A boy in a dark blue shirt says I'M DARK BLUE.
They lay down on the ground. Their color bodies are stamped repeatedly on the screen to form a picture.
The kids shout IT'S A CATERPILLAR!
A colourful picture of a caterpillar flashes on the screen.
Mister Maker says WELL DONE,
EVERYONE.
SEE YOU NEXT TIME.
NOW, IT'S TIME TO...
FRAME IT.
He steps in front of an ornate brown frame. A camera clicks.
Mister Maker says FRAME IT!
He runs in front of another frame. A picture of himself standing behind the first frame is in the background. A camera clicks.
Mister Maker says FRAME IT!
He runs in front of another frame. Photos of the past two frames are in the background. A camera clicks.
Mister Maker says NOW, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
THIS FANTASTIC SEASIDE PICTURE
LOOKS GREAT, DOESN'T IT?
A drawing of a town full of colouful buildings along the seashore flashes on the screen.
Mister Maker says AND IT'S MADE WITHOUT USING
ANY BRUSHES, JUST SPONGES AND
PAINT.
IT'S VERY EASY TO DO AND LOOKS
SO GOOD, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO
FRAME IT.
YOU WILL NEED SOME COLOURED
PAINT, A PEN, AND SOME SPONGE
STRIPS THAT HAVE BEEN
CAREFULLY CUT OUT OF A KITCHEN
SPONGE LIKE THIS.
All the materials are sitting on a table.
Mister Maker says TO MAKE YOUR SEASIDE PICTURE,
START OFF BY DIPPING ONE OF
THE SPONGE STRIPS INTO BLUE
PAINT.
THEN, DRAG IT ALONG THE BOTTOM
OF THE PAPER LIKE THIS
He drags the sponge strip along the bottom of the paper.
Mister Maker continues
SO
THAT THE PAINT SPREADS WITH
THE SPONGE.
IT'S EASY.
JUST DIP AND DRAG, AND IF YOU
RUN OUT OF PAINT, JUST DIP IT
AND DRAG AGAIN.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE SEA.
NOW, LET'S DO THE SAME AGAIN
WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF SPONGE
AND SOME GREEN PAINT.
IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO USE A
CLEAN BIT OF SPONGE EVERY TIME
YOU USE A DIFFERENT COLOUR.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE
HARBOUR WALL NEXT TO THE SEA.
The green strip is on top of the blue strips.
Mister Maker says NOW, LET'S DO THE SEASIDE
CLIPS WITH SOME BROWN PAINT.
[Music Plays]
NEXT, USE SOME NICE BRIGHT
COLOURS FOR THE SEASIDE
HOUSES.
YOU CAN DRAG YOUR PAINT
DOWNWARDS TO MAKE A HOUSE
SHAPE LIKE THIS.
He drags the sponge strip down until it forms a square.
Mister Maker says AND DON'T FORGET TO ADD A ROOF
WITH SOME BROWN PAINT.
[Music Plays]
YOU CAN MAKE AS MANY DIFFERENT
COLOURED HOUSES AS YOU WANT.
IT'S STARTING TO LOOK REALLY
EFFECTIVE, ISN'T IT?
WE CAN ADD SOME MORE BLUE
PAINT ABOVE THE HOUSES FOR THE
SKY.
[Music Plays]
AND NOW, WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF
SPONGE, LET'S ADD SOME BOATS.
JUST DIP YOUR SPONGE IN THE
PAINT AND DRAG IT AROUND IN A
CURVE SHAPE LIKE THIS.
He creates semicircles with the sponge strips on top of the water.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says ADD BROWN PAINT FOR THE BOAT'S
MAST WITH THE EDGE OF THE
SPONGE.
YOU CAN DO AS MANY BOATS AS
YOU WANT.
[Music Plays]
NOW ALL THAT'S LEFT TO DO IS
ADD SOME DETAILS WITH A BLACK
FELT-TIP PEN.
DRAW DOORS AND WINDOWS ON YOUR
HOUSES.
ADD SOME FINISHING TOUCHES TO
THE BOATS, AND ADD SOME
DETAILS TO YOUR HARBOUR WALL
SO IT REALLY STANDS OUT.
A SPONGE SEASIDE PICTURE.
AND YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A
PAINTBRUSH TO MAKE IT.
WHAT A BRILLIANT PICTURE.
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A GO?
AND THEN, FRAME IT.
He snaps his fingers
[Music Plays]
The frames full of Mister Maker photos are replaced with the seaside drawing.
Mister Maker says I LIKE MAKING PICTURES OUT OF
ALL SORTS OF THINGS, SO LET'S
MAKE A PICTURE OUT OF PEGS.
He opens his hand to reveal a green, yellow, and pink peg.
A doodle drawer opens. Hundreds of colourful pegs fly out and begin to swirl around the room.
Mister Maker exclaims
WOW!
WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE?
The pegs fly over to the table and begin to fall down.
Mister Maker says WOW, THEY'RE BALLOONS!
The pegs take the form of a green, yellow, and pink balloon. The balloons float up.
Now Mister Maker is shown struggling with a ball of string.
Mister Maker says OH, THERE YOU ARE.
I WAS JUST SORTING OUT MY
STRING.
IT'S ALL GOT INTO A TERRIBLE
KNOT.
[rumbling sounds]
OOH, IT'S MY TUMMY RUMBLING.
[rumbling sounds]
YEAH, IT DOES THAT WHEN I GET
A BIT HUNGRY.
AND TODAY, I AM HUNGRY.
IT GIVES ME AN IDEA, THOUGH.
ON THE MISTER MAKER MENU TODAY,
A SPAGHETTI DINNER MADE WITH
WIGGLY STRING.
MMM, LOOKS TASTY.
A plate full of spaghetti made of string flashes on the screen.
Mister Maker says LET'S MAKE IT.
BUT LIKE ALL GOOD COOKS, WE
NEED THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS.
AND THEY CAN BE FOUND IN THE
DOODLE DRAWERS.
[Music Plays]
A PAPER PLATE,
[Music Plays]
YELLOW TISSUE PAPER AND A
PLASTIC FORK,
[Music Plays]
GLOOPY PVA GLUE AND SOME
PAINT,
[Music Plays]
A SPONGE,
[Music Plays]
SOME SCISSORS, AND SOME
STRING.
He grabs all the items from the doodle drawer and places them on a table.
Mister Maker says WHOA!
NOW, TO MAKE A SPAGHETTI
STRING DINNER LIKE THIS ONE
HERE, YOU FIRST NEED TO CUT
YOUR STRING INTO
SPAGHETTI-LENGTH PIECES.
BE CAREFUL THOUGH BECAUSE
SCISSORS ARE SHARP.
A black and yellow caution sign with scissors pops up in the right hand corner.
Mister Maker begins cutting the string.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says NOW, GET A BOWL WITH SOME
GLOOPY GLUE IN IT, AND YOUR
PAPER PLATE, AND START TO DIP
YOUR BITS OF STRING INTO THE
GLOOPY GLUE.
[Music Plays]
THERE WE GO.
OH, IT'S GLOOPY.
GET PLENTY ON, AND THEN
SQUEEZE OFF ALL THE EXTRA
GLUE.
[Music Plays]
AND THEN PLACE YOUR STRING
STRAIGHT ONTO YOUR PLATE.
THERE WE GO, LET'S DO ANOTHER
ONE.
[Music Plays]
THERE WE GO, IN IT GOES.
IT'S GLOOPY.
THERE IT IS.
THEN SQUEEZE THE REST OFF.
AND ON IT GOES, ONTO THE
PLATE.
LET YOUR STRING WIGGLE AROUND
LIKE REAL SPAGHETTI, AND KEEP
GOING UNTIL YOU'VE GOT A LOT
OF SPAGHETTI ON YOUR PLATE.
[Music Plays]
THERE, THAT'S THE SPAGHETTI
DONE.
The plate is covered in string that resembles spaghetti.
Mister Maker says NOW, FOR THE SAUCE.
THAT'S THIS BIT OVER HERE.
FOR THIS, CAREFULLY SNIP SOME
SMALL PIECES OF SPONGE INTO A
BOWL.
IF YOU FIND THIS TRICKY, GET
AN ADULT TO HELP YOU.
A black and yellow caution sign with a child high fiving an adult flashes on the screen.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says AND WHEN YOU'VE GOT A SMALL
PILE OF THE SPONGE PIECES, PUT
THEM TO ONE SIDE AND MIX SOME
RED PAINT INTO A CUP...
[Music Plays]
WITH SOME BROWN PAINT.
[Music Plays]
THEN GIVE IT A GOOD STIR.
He grabs a cup and fills it with red and brown paint. He stirs it with a stick.
Mister Maker looks at his work and says YEAH, THAT LOOKS GOOD.
NOW, WE CAN POUR THIS OVER OUR
SPONGE PIECES AND MAKE SURE
IT'S ALL COVERED.
LET'S GIVE IT A GOOD MIX
AROUND.
He mixes the paint and sponge pieces.
[sloshing sound]
Mister Maker continues
WHEN THAT'S DONE, WE CAN POUR
OUR SAUCE OVER OUR SPAGHETTI.
[Music Plays]
OOH OOH, IT'S LOOKING TASTY.
AND NOW, FOR A FINISHING
TOUCH, HOW ABOUT SOME CHEESE?
TO MAKE OUR CHEESE, WE SIMPLY
SNIP SOME SMALL STRIPS OF
YELLOW TISSUE PAPER AND
SPRINKLE THEM ON TOP.
He cuts up the yellow tissue paper into tiny strips.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says THERE.
AND FINALLY, TAKE A PLASTIC
FORK AND WRAP A PIECE OF
GLOOPY STRING AROUND IT...
[Music Plays]
AND THEN GLUE IT TO THE EDGE
OF YOUR PLATE.
[Music Plays]
THERE, DELICIOUS.
He places some glue on the side of the plate and places the fork covered in string on top of it.
He carries the plate of string spaghetti to a table with a checkered tablecloth.
Mister Maker says AND THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHER
MEALS ON THE MENU, TOO.
HOW ABOUT STRING SPAGHETTI ON
TOAST.
A plate of spaghetti on toast pops up next to the plate of spaghetti.
Mister Maker says IT'S MADE BY DIPPING STRING
INTO ORANGE PAINT AND GLUE,
THEN PAINTING AN OLD SPONGE
LIKE TOAST.
OR EVEN SWEET-AND-SOUR NOODLES
WITH SPECIAL FRIED-STRING
RICE.
THE RICE IS CHOPPED-UP STRING
WITH SPONGE HAM AND TISSUE
PAPER PEAS.
OH, VERY TASTY.
A plate of sweet-and-sour noodles pops up next to the other plates.
Mister Maker says BUT WHAT A SHAME THEY'RE NOT
REAL AND WE CAN'T EAT THEM.
Tocky pops out of its clock.
Tocky says TIME TO GO!
TIME TO GO!
Mister Maker says OH, THAT'S IT
FOR NOW.
MY MAKING TIME IS OVER, BUT
YOURS IS JUST BEGINNING.
SEE YOU SOON.
He waves.
An end slate appears that reads "The Foundation: part of the rdf media group for BBC. C.Beebies. BBC. The Foundation T.V. Production Ltd MMVIII."
The lyrics go
MAKE IT, MISTER MAKER
OOH, LA LA LA LA LA

OTHER LIKE THAT.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BACK
OF OUR ARROW.
I'M GOING TO HAVE TO
CUT THIS OUT.
Tocky says BE CAREFUL!
Mister Maker says DON'T
WORRY, TOCKY, I WILL.
THERE WE GO.
AROUND LIKE THAT.
AND LIKE THAT.
THERE WE GO.
OOH OOH.
AND NOW I NEED TO CUT OUT
SOMETHING FROM THE GREY.
THAT'S A TRIANGLE SHAPE.
Tocky says FASTER, FASTER!
Mister Maker says I'M GOING
AS QUICK AS I CAN.
THERE WE GO.
NOW, I NEED SOME GLUE AND
THESE STRIPS HERE.
RIGHT.
COME ON GLUE, THERE WE ARE.
THERE'S SOME GLUE THERE.
AND THEN SOME GLUE ON THIS
SIDE THERE.
THERE WE GO.
RIGHT.
NOW I NEED SOME TAPE AND THE
HAIRBAND.
RIGHT, LET'S PUT THAT BIT
THERE, AND THEN JUST FIT IT
AROUND HERE, IF WE CAN.
THERE WE GO.
OH, I'M NEARLY DONE, I'M
NEARLY DONE.
NOW, I NEED THIS BIT HERE
AROUND HERE LIKE THAT.
I DID IT!
He places the hairband on top of his head.
[bell ringing]
Tocky says ONLY JUST.
Mister Maker says WHEW.
HILARIOUS HAIRBANDS MADE IN A
MINUTE.
AND IF YOU'VE GOT MORE THAN A
MINUTE, YOU COULD TRY
DIFFERENT DESIGNS.
OH, LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR
BUNCHES AND PINK BOWS.
A puff of smoke appears on top of his head around the arrow hairband. A hairband of two brown locks of hair with pink bows appears.
Mister Maker says OR HOW ABOUT COW HORNS AND COW
EARS.
There is another puff of smoke. The hairband is now two cow horns.
Mister Maker says VERY MOOVING - HA HA HA HA HA.
HILARIOUS HAIRBANDS MADE IN A
MINUTE.
WHY DON'T YOU TRY IT.
OH, HERE'S A REMINDER OF HOW
TO DO IT.
[Music Plays]
The events of the past minute are rewound.
Mister Maker says LET'S GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING
AND TAKE ANOTHER LOOK.
DRAW TWO SLOPING RECTANGLE
SHAPES FACING EACH OTHER ON
THE RED CARD.
DRAW A TRIANGLE ON THE GREY
CARD AND CUT EVERYTHING OUT.
GLUE THEM TO YOUR THIN BROWN
STRIPS OF CARD.
AND THEN TAPE THE BROWN STRIPS
TO THE HEADBAND.
THEN YOUR FUNNY HEADBAND IS
COMPLETE.
WHY DON'T YOU TRY MAKING IT IN
A MINUTE.
A group of kids in caps are standing behind a window.
The kids shout HELLO, MISTER MAKER!
GUESS WHAT WE'RE MAKING TODAY.
Mister Maker says I DON'T KNOW.
I WONDER WHAT THEY ARE MAKING
TODAY.
[Music Plays]
The kids run around a white screen.
A girl in a red shirt says I'M RED.
A girl in an orange shirt says I AM ORANGE.
A girl in a purple shirt says I AM PURPLE.
A girl in a pink shirt says I AM PINK.
A boy in a yellow shirt says I'M YELLOW.
A boy in a dark blue shirt says I'M DARK BLUE.
They lay down on the ground. Their color bodies are stamped repeatedly on the screen to form a picture.
The kids shout IT'S A CATERPILLAR!
A colourful picture of a caterpillar flashes on the screen.
Mister Maker says WELL DONE,
EVERYONE.
SEE YOU NEXT TIME.
NOW, IT'S TIME TO...
FRAME IT.
He steps in front of an ornate brown frame. A camera clicks.
Mister Maker says FRAME IT!
He runs in front of another frame. A picture of himself standing behind the first frame is in the background. A camera clicks.
Mister Maker says FRAME IT!
He runs in front of another frame. Photos of the past two frames are in the background. A camera clicks.
Mister Maker says NOW, TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
THIS FANTASTIC SEASIDE PICTURE
LOOKS GREAT, DOESN'T IT?
A drawing of a town full of colouful buildings along the seashore flashes on the screen.
Mister Maker says AND IT'S MADE WITHOUT USING
ANY BRUSHES, JUST SPONGES AND
PAINT.
IT'S VERY EASY TO DO AND LOOKS
SO GOOD, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO
FRAME IT.
YOU WILL NEED SOME COLOURED
PAINT, A PEN, AND SOME SPONGE
STRIPS THAT HAVE BEEN
CAREFULLY CUT OUT OF A KITCHEN
SPONGE LIKE THIS.
All the materials are sitting on a table.
Mister Maker says TO MAKE YOUR SEASIDE PICTURE,
START OFF BY DIPPING ONE OF
THE SPONGE STRIPS INTO BLUE
PAINT.
THEN, DRAG IT ALONG THE BOTTOM
OF THE PAPER LIKE THIS
He drags the sponge strip along the bottom of the paper.
Mister Maker continues
SO
THAT THE PAINT SPREADS WITH
THE SPONGE.
IT'S EASY.
JUST DIP AND DRAG, AND IF YOU
RUN OUT OF PAINT, JUST DIP IT
AND DRAG AGAIN.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE SEA.
NOW, LET'S DO THE SAME AGAIN
WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF SPONGE
AND SOME GREEN PAINT.
IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO USE A
CLEAN BIT OF SPONGE EVERY TIME
YOU USE A DIFFERENT COLOUR.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE
HARBOUR WALL NEXT TO THE SEA.
The green strip is on top of the blue strips.
Mister Maker says NOW, LET'S DO THE SEASIDE
CLIPS WITH SOME BROWN PAINT.
[Music Plays]
NEXT, USE SOME NICE BRIGHT
COLOURS FOR THE SEASIDE
HOUSES.
YOU CAN DRAG YOUR PAINT
DOWNWARDS TO MAKE A HOUSE
SHAPE LIKE THIS.
He drags the sponge strip down until it forms a square.
Mister Maker says AND DON'T FORGET TO ADD A ROOF
WITH SOME BROWN PAINT.
[Music Plays]
YOU CAN MAKE AS MANY DIFFERENT
COLOURED HOUSES AS YOU WANT.
IT'S STARTING TO LOOK REALLY
EFFECTIVE, ISN'T IT?
WE CAN ADD SOME MORE BLUE
PAINT ABOVE THE HOUSES FOR THE
SKY.
[Music Plays]
AND NOW, WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF
SPONGE, LET'S ADD SOME BOATS.
JUST DIP YOUR SPONGE IN THE
PAINT AND DRAG IT AROUND IN A
CURVE SHAPE LIKE THIS.
He creates semicircles with the sponge strips on top of the water.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says ADD BROWN PAINT FOR THE BOAT'S
MAST WITH THE EDGE OF THE
SPONGE.
YOU CAN DO AS MANY BOATS AS
YOU WANT.
[Music Plays]
NOW ALL THAT'S LEFT TO DO IS
ADD SOME DETAILS WITH A BLACK
FELT-TIP PEN.
DRAW DOORS AND WINDOWS ON YOUR
HOUSES.
ADD SOME FINISHING TOUCHES TO
THE BOATS, AND ADD SOME
DETAILS TO YOUR HARBOUR WALL
SO IT REALLY STANDS OUT.
A SPONGE SEASIDE PICTURE.
AND YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A
PAINTBRUSH TO MAKE IT.
WHAT A BRILLIANT PICTURE.
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A GO?
AND THEN, FRAME IT.
He snaps his fingers
[Music Plays]
The frames full of Mister Maker photos are replaced with the seaside drawing.
Mister Maker says I LIKE MAKING PICTURES OUT OF
ALL SORTS OF THINGS, SO LET'S
MAKE A PICTURE OUT OF PEGS.
He opens his hand to reveal a green, yellow, and pink peg.
A doodle drawer opens. Hundreds of colourful pegs fly out and begin to swirl around the room.
Mister Maker exclaims
WOW!
WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE?
The pegs fly over to the table and begin to fall down.
Mister Maker says WOW, THEY'RE BALLOONS!
The pegs take the form of a green, yellow, and pink balloon. The balloons float up.
Now Mister Maker is shown struggling with a ball of string.
Mister Maker says OH, THERE YOU ARE.
I WAS JUST SORTING OUT MY
STRING.
IT'S ALL GOT INTO A TERRIBLE
KNOT.
[rumbling sounds]
OOH, IT'S MY TUMMY RUMBLING.
[rumbling sounds]
YEAH, IT DOES THAT WHEN I GET
A BIT HUNGRY.
AND TODAY, I AM HUNGRY.
IT GIVES ME AN IDEA, THOUGH.
ON THE MISTER MAKER MENU TODAY,
A SPAGHETTI DINNER MADE WITH
WIGGLY STRING.
MMM, LOOKS TASTY.
A plate full of spaghetti made of string flashes on the screen.
Mister Maker says LET'S MAKE IT.
BUT LIKE ALL GOOD COOKS, WE
NEED THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS.
AND THEY CAN BE FOUND IN THE
DOODLE DRAWERS.
[Music Plays]
A PAPER PLATE,
[Music Plays]
YELLOW TISSUE PAPER AND A
PLASTIC FORK,
[Music Plays]
GLOOPY PVA GLUE AND SOME
PAINT,
[Music Plays]
A SPONGE,
[Music Plays]
SOME SCISSORS, AND SOME
STRING.
He grabs all the items from the doodle drawer and places them on a table.
Mister Maker says WHOA!
NOW, TO MAKE A SPAGHETTI
STRING DINNER LIKE THIS ONE
HERE, YOU FIRST NEED TO CUT
YOUR STRING INTO
SPAGHETTI-LENGTH PIECES.
BE CAREFUL THOUGH BECAUSE
SCISSORS ARE SHARP.
A black and yellow caution sign with scissors pops up in the right hand corner.
Mister Maker begins cutting the string.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says NOW, GET A BOWL WITH SOME
GLOOPY GLUE IN IT, AND YOUR
PAPER PLATE, AND START TO DIP
YOUR BITS OF STRING INTO THE
GLOOPY GLUE.
[Music Plays]
THERE WE GO.
OH, IT'S GLOOPY.
GET PLENTY ON, AND THEN
SQUEEZE OFF ALL THE EXTRA
GLUE.
[Music Plays]
AND THEN PLACE YOUR STRING
STRAIGHT ONTO YOUR PLATE.
THERE WE GO, LET'S DO ANOTHER
ONE.
[Music Plays]
THERE WE GO, IN IT GOES.
IT'S GLOOPY.
THERE IT IS.
THEN SQUEEZE THE REST OFF.
AND ON IT GOES, ONTO THE
PLATE.
LET YOUR STRING WIGGLE AROUND
LIKE REAL SPAGHETTI, AND KEEP
GOING UNTIL YOU'VE GOT A LOT
OF SPAGHETTI ON YOUR PLATE.
[Music Plays]
THERE, THAT'S THE SPAGHETTI
DONE.
The plate is covered in string that resembles spaghetti.
Mister Maker says NOW, FOR THE SAUCE.
THAT'S THIS BIT OVER HERE.
FOR THIS, CAREFULLY SNIP SOME
SMALL PIECES OF SPONGE INTO A
BOWL.
IF YOU FIND THIS TRICKY, GET
AN ADULT TO HELP YOU.
A black and yellow caution sign with a child high fiving an adult flashes on the screen.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says AND WHEN YOU'VE GOT A SMALL
PILE OF THE SPONGE PIECES, PUT
THEM TO ONE SIDE AND MIX SOME
RED PAINT INTO A CUP...
[Music Plays]
WITH SOME BROWN PAINT.
[Music Plays]
THEN GIVE IT A GOOD STIR.
He grabs a cup and fills it with red and brown paint. He stirs it with a stick.
Mister Maker looks at his work and says YEAH, THAT LOOKS GOOD.
NOW, WE CAN POUR THIS OVER OUR
SPONGE PIECES AND MAKE SURE
IT'S ALL COVERED.
LET'S GIVE IT A GOOD MIX
AROUND.
He mixes the paint and sponge pieces.
[sloshing sound]
Mister Maker continues
WHEN THAT'S DONE, WE CAN POUR
OUR SAUCE OVER OUR SPAGHETTI.
[Music Plays]
OOH OOH, IT'S LOOKING TASTY.
AND NOW, FOR A FINISHING
TOUCH, HOW ABOUT SOME CHEESE?
TO MAKE OUR CHEESE, WE SIMPLY
SNIP SOME SMALL STRIPS OF
YELLOW TISSUE PAPER AND
SPRINKLE THEM ON TOP.
He cuts up the yellow tissue paper into tiny strips.
[Music Plays]
Mister Maker says THERE.
AND FINALLY, TAKE A PLASTIC
FORK AND WRAP A PIECE OF
GLOOPY STRING AROUND IT...
[Music Plays]
AND THEN GLUE IT TO THE EDGE
OF YOUR PLATE.
[Music Plays]
THERE, DELICIOUS.
He places some glue on the side of the plate and places the fork covered in string on top of it.
He carries the plate of string spaghetti to a table with a checkered tablecloth.
Mister Maker says AND THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHER
MEALS ON THE MENU, TOO.
HOW ABOUT STRING SPAGHETTI ON
TOAST.
A plate of spaghetti on toast pops up next to the plate of spaghetti.
Mister Maker says IT'S MADE BY DIPPING STRING
INTO ORANGE PAINT AND GLUE,
THEN PAINTING AN OLD SPONGE
LIKE TOAST.
OR EVEN SWEET-AND-SOUR NOODLES
WITH SPECIAL FRIED-STRING
RICE.
THE RICE IS CHOPPED-UP STRING
WITH SPONGE HAM AND TISSUE
PAPER PEAS.
OH, VERY TASTY.
A plate of sweet-and-sour noodles pops up next to the other plates.
Mister Maker says BUT WHAT A SHAME THEY'RE NOT
REAL AND WE CAN'T EAT THEM.
Tocky pops out of its clock.
Tocky says TIME TO GO!
TIME TO GO!
Mister Maker says OH, THAT'S IT
FOR NOW.
MY MAKING TIME IS OVER, BUT
YOURS IS JUST BEGINNING.
SEE YOU SOON.
He waves.
An end slate appears that reads "The Foundation: part of the rdf media group for BBC. C.Beebies. BBC. The Foundation T.V. Production Ltd MMVIII."
