HERE, LOOK WHAT I'VE FOUND IN
THE DOODLE DRAWERS TODAY -
BANDAGES!
PEOPLE USE THEM WHEN THEY'VE
HURT THEMSELVES.
Bandages cover Mister Maker’s head and his left arm.
He says OHH, HEY?
BUT, LUCKILY, I'M FEELING FINE.
The bandages disappear.
Mister Maker says OH, THAT'S BETTER.
I'D MUCH RATHER USE BANDAGES TO
MAKE A FANTASTIC PIECE OF ART.
BUT THE QUESTION IS, WHAT SHALL
I MAKE?
HMMM, HMM.
HMM!
BANDAGES, EH?
BANDAGES.
A cloudy background appears on screen. A mummy pops up.
Mister Maker says BANDAGES - A MUMMY!

Mister Maker says OF COURSE, EGYPT!
AH-HA, THAT'S IT!
I'VE GOT A GREAT IDEA!
[Bell dings]
An icon with the shape of a lamp pops up.
Mister Maker says LET'S TRY SOMETHING.
TRY MAKING AN AMAZING ANCIENT
EGYPTIAN PICTURE OUT OF
BANDAGES.
A drawing of the pyramids appears on screen.
Mister Maker says LET'S MAKE IT!
AS WELL AS SOME BANDAGES, WE'LL
NEED SOME OTHER THINGS FROM THE
DOODLE DRAWERS.
COME ON, YOU LOT.
He goes to the doodle drawers to pick up the materials.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says SOME GLOOPY PVA GLUE,
SOME COLOURED CRAYONS,
(music plays)
He takes a dragon out of the drawer.
Mister Maker says A FIERY DRAGON?
NO, WE DON'T NEED HIM.
SOME COFFEE POWDER,
AND A SHEET OF WHITE PAPER.
(music plays)
Mister Maker carries the materials to the table.
Mister Maker says WHOA!
NOW TO MAKE AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN
PICTURE LIKE THIS ONE HERE,
He points to the drawing of the pyramids.
Mister Maker says YOU
HAVE TO START WITH HALF A
TEASPOON OF COFFEE POWDER.
THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID COFFEE
POWDER.
SO WE NEED TO PUT IT INTO
A CUP.
AND THEN MIX IT IN WITH TWO
SPLASHES OF WATER.
NOW GIVE IT A GOOD STIR, AND NOW
WE CAN PUT IN A BIG SPLODGE OF
GLOOPY GLUE.
AND NOW LET'S GIVE THIS A GOOD
STIR.
NOW, THE NEXT BIT IS THE FUN
BIT.
BUT IT'S ALSO THE MESSY BIT SO
MAKE SURE YOU PUT DOWN SOME OLD
PAPER OR NEWSPAPER FIRST.
NOW WE'RE GOING TO BRING IN OUR
PAPER, AND THEN WE NEED TO CUT
SOME BANDAGES INTO STRIPS, AND
LAY THEM ACROSS THE PAPER.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says NOW, WE'RE GOING TO VERY
CAREFULLY PAINT OUR GLUE AND
COFFEE MIXTURE ALL OVER THE
BANDAGES.
AND WHEN IT'S DRY, ALL OF THE
BANDAGES WILL BE STUCK
TOGETHER.
IT'S GONE A LOVELY LIGHT BROWN
COLOUR.
LET'S START DRAWING OUR PICTURE
WITH A BLACK WAX CRAYON.
START WITH A PALM TREE.
A NICE TRUNK BENDING OVER WITH
PALM LEAVES ON TOP.
NOW MAKE SURE YOU DO ALL THE
OUTLINES IN BLACK.
PUT SOME TRIANGLES FOR PYRAMIDS
UP HERE AND LET'S NOT FORGET
THE SUN IN THE SKY.
LET'S ADD SOME GRASS AROUND THE
TREE.
THERE.
AND WHEN YOU'RE HAPPY WITH YOUR
PICTURE, YOU CAN START COLOURING
IT IN.
WAX CRAYONS LOOK REALLY GOOD ON
THIS ROUGH SORT OF PAPER.
(music plays)
Time passes by. Mister Maker colours the drawing.
Mister Maker says IT'S AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PICTURE
FROM MANY, MANY YEARS AGO.
YOU CAN TRY SOME OTHER IDEAS
TOO.
YOU CAN MAKE OTHER PICTURES
LOOK REALLY OLD LIKE THIS
CASTLE PICTURE.
A drawing of a castle appears on screen.
Mister Maker says OR YOU COULD TRY YOUR VERY OWN
OLD-LOOKING TREASURE MAP.
A drawing of a treasure map appears on screen. It shows a chair, a book, a tree, a teddy bear and a red cross.
Mister Maker says SO WHY DON'T YOU TRY MAKING
SOME OLD-LOOKING PAPER AND
DRAWING AN ANCIENT PICTURE
THAT'S VERY REALISTIC.
Magically, Mister Maker is on the camel again.
He says WHOA!
WHERE AM I?
I DIDN'T MEAN
THIS
REALISTIC.
WHOA!
The camel gallops around the pyramids.
Mister Maker says HEY, SLOW DOWN!!
Now, a rack appears on screen. It has handicrafts tools such as scissors, rulers, and modeling clay, among others. On the upper shelf, there are four coloured shapes: a pink circle, a yellow triangle, a blue square and a red rectangle.
[Snoring]
Mister Maker says WHO'S THAT SNORING?
THESE ARE THE SHAPES.
[Snoring]
Mister Maker says AWW, THEY'RE ASLEEP.
I'VE GOT AN IDEA.
LET'S WAKE THEM UP!
[Snoring]
He picks up a colourful feather duster and rubs it on the shapes.
[Giggling]
They wake up and jump from the shelf.
They say WEE!
Now, the shapes dance as they sing.
The song says I AM A SHAPE
I AM A SHAPE
I AM A CIRCLE
The pink circle appears on screen.
The song continues I AM A TRIANGLE
The yellow triangle appears on screen.
The song continues I AM A SQUARE
The blue square appears on screen.
The song continues I AM A RECTANGLE
The red rectangle appears on screen.
They dance and sing
I AM A SHAPE
I AM A CIRCLE
The pink circle is highlighted. Then, an animation with several circular shapes appear on screen.
Mister Maker says WHAT PICTURE ARE THE CIRCLES
GOING TO MAKE?
(music plays)
The circles move around the screen.
Mister Maker says CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IT'S GOING
TO BE?
(music plays)
The circles form a deer.
Mister Maker says IT'S A DEER.
WELL DONE, CIRCLE.
IT'S TIME TO GET BACK ON THE
SHELF.
The shapes jump back to the shelf.
[Giggling]
[Yawning]
[Snoring]
The shapes are asleep again.
Mister Maker appears on screen and says I JUST LOVE
THOSE SHAPES.
THEY'RE BRILLIANT!
A puppet of a bird comes out of a clock. It has yellow feathers and a big beak.
Tocky says TOCKY HERE.
MINUTE-MAKE TIME!
Mister Maker says OH, IT'S
MINUTE-MAKE TIME.
COME ON, EVERYONE.
(music plays)
He runs back to the table.
Mister Maker says IT'S MINUTE-MAKE TIME.
AND HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO
MAKE TODAY, A ONE-EYED MONSTER.
He points to a green one-eyed monster.
The monster says AYE, AYE.
Mister Maker says NOW, TO MAKE
THIS ONE-EYED MONSTER, YOU WILL
NEED A FEATHER, A PEN, SOME
SCISSORS, SOME GREEN CARD AND A
GOOGLY EYE AND SOME AIR DRYING
CLAY THAT YOU CAN GET FROM AN
ART-AND-CRAFTS SHOP.
He goes out.
[Car revs]
He opens the door and says I'VE GOT THEM.
He shows a bag.
Mister Maker says RIGHT, I'M GOING TO PUT MY AIR
DRYING CLAY DOWN THERE AT THE
MOMENT AND LEAVE IT IN THE BAG.
BUT HERE'S MY GOOGLY EYE.
PUT THAT DOWN THERE.
NOW DO YOU THINK IT'S POSSIBLE
TO MAKE THIS, IN JUST ONE
MINUTE?
Tocky says NOT A CHANCE.
Mister Maker says WELL, I THINK
I CAN, TOCKY.
I WILL HAVE TO MOVE VERY
QUICKLY, BUT DON'T WORRY, I'LL
REMIND YOU HOW TO DO IT AT THE
END.
ARE YOU READY?
LET'S MAKE IT IN A MINUTE.
START THE CLOCK!
A clock pops up on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Mr. Maker says RIGHT, I'M GOING TO GET ONE
BIG LUMP OF CLAY AND ROLL IT
INTO A BALL AND THEN SQUASH
IT INTO THE BODY SHAPE OF
MY MONSTER.
THEN I'M GOING TO GET TWO
SMALLER LUMPS OF CLAY AND
ROLL THEM INTO SMALL
SAUSAGES.
THESE ARE GOING TO BE THE
MONSTER'S LEGS.
THERE WE GO, THERE ARE THE
LEGS.
AND THERE'S THE BODY.
He joins the body to the legs.
Mister Maker says OKAY, LOOKING GOOD.
RIGHT, I'M GOING TO GET A
FEATHER NOW AND STICK THAT
IN THE TOP THERE AND THEN
GIVE MY MONSTER AN EYE.
He puts the feather on top of the body and then he puts the eye on the forehead.
Mister Maker says NOW WE NEED TO GIVE HIM SOME
ARMS, DON'T WE?
SO FOR THAT WE CAN DRAW
THOSE ON THE SIDE OF THIS
CARD HERE.
He draws a pair of arms on the green card.
Mister Maker says THERE'S ONE ARM, THERE'S TWO
ARMS AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO
CUT THESE OUT.
Tocky says BE CAREFUL.
Mister Maker says DON'T WORRY
TOCKY, I'M BEING CAREFUL.
HERE WE GO - OH, I'M
RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
RIGHT, GOING TO CUT ROUND
HERE.
THERE WE GO.
COME ON, NOW, DON'T FAIL ME
SCISSORS, DON'T FAIL ME.
Tocky says COME ON, SLOW COACH!
Mister Maker says I'M GOING
AS QUICK AS I CAN, TOCKY.
THERE WE GO, THERE'S ONE IN
THERE AND ONE IN THERE.
THERE, I'VE DONE IT!
[Bell ringing]
Tocky says LUCKY, LUCKY!
Mister Maker says HEY, THAT WAS
LUCKY.
AND IF YOU'VE GOT MORE THAN A
MINUTE, YOU CAN PAINT YOUR
MONSTER A NICE BRIGHT COLOUR.
HOW ABOUT AN ORANGE STRIPY ONE.
An orange stripy monster appears on screen.
Mister Maker says YOU CAN EVEN MAKE ONE WITH TWO
EYES, LIKE THIS BLUE SPOTTY ONE.
A blue spotty monster appears on screen.
He says DON'T I LOOK GREAT?
Mister Maker says ONE-EYED
MONSTERS MADE IN A MINUTE.
WHY DON'T YOU TRY IT?
HERE'S A REMINDER OF HOW TO
DO IT.
Now, the video plays with a rewind effect.
Mister Maker says LET'S GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING
AND TAKE ANOTHER LOOK.
SQUASH CLAY INTO A BALL FOR THE
MONSTER'S BODY, ROLL TWO
SAUSAGE SHAPES FOR THE LEGS AND
STICK THEM ON TO THE BODY,
STICK A FEATHER ON TOP AND
THEN STICK ON THE GOOGLY EYE.
DRAW TWO ARMS ON THE COLOURED
PAPER, CUT THEM OUT AND FINALLY
STICK THE ARMS INTO YOUR
ONE-EYED MONSTER.
[Tape rewinds]
WHY DON'T YOU TRY MAKING IT
IN A MINUTE?
Now, a lot of kids stand behind the window.
The kids say HELLO, MISTER MAKER.
GUESS WHAT WE'RE MAKING TODAY.
Mister Maker says OH, I DON'T
KNOW.
LET'S FIND OUT.
(music plays)
The kids run in a white room. They are dressed in different colours.
A boy lies on the floor and says I'M BLACK.
Lots of images of the same boy lying in different positions appear on screen.
(music plays)
A girl says I AM PINK.
(music plays)
Lots of images of the same girl lying in different positions appear on screen.
Another boy says I AM GREEN.
(music plays)
A boy says I AM BROWN.
The brown boys lie in the floor and form a long line.
(music plays)
A girl says I AM ORANGE.
The orange girls form a triangular shape.
(music plays)
Another girl says I AM RED.
The red girls lie in the floor and form spiky shapes.
(music plays)
An aerial image of the kids lying on the floor appears on screen.
The kids say IT'S A PARROT!
Mister Maker says WELL DONE,
EVERYONE.
SEE YOU NEXT TIME.
Now, Mr. Maker appears on screen. He stands behind a frame.
He says NOW IT'S TIME TO...
FRAME IT!
[Camera shutter]
He stands behind another frame and says FRAME IT...
[Camera shutter]
He stands behind another frame and says FRAME IT.
[Camera shutter]
He stands in front of the pictures and says NOW TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
THIS IS A BRILLIANT JUNGLE
PICTURE.
YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A
PAINTBRUSH TO DO IT, JUST
PAINT AND YOUR FINGERS.
IT LOOKS SO GOOD THAT YOU WILL
BE ABLE TO FRAME IT.
YOU WILL NEED SOME COLOURED
PAPER, A BLACK PEN AND LOTS OF
DIFFERENT COLOURED PAINTS:
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, WHITE.
AND THREE DIFFERENT SHADES OF
GREEN.
PLUS, THERE'S ONE OTHER
IMPORTANT INGREDIENT:
YOUR FINGERS.
YOU WILL NEED TO START OFF WITH
SOME DARK GREEN PAINT, BUT IF
YOU DON'T HAVE ANY, IT'S REALLY
EASY TO MAKE.
JUST ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF
BLACK PAINT TO AN ORDINARY
GREEN PAINT AND MIX TOGETHER.
THE MORE BLACK PAINT YOU ADD,
THE DARKER YOUR GREEN WILL BE.
JUST DIP YOUR FINGERS INTO THE
PAINT AND DAB THEM DOWNWARDS ON
THE PAPER, LIKE THIS, TO MAKE
THE TREES AT THE BACK OF THE
JUNGLE.
He dabs some dark green paint and draws lines to form the trees.
Mister Maker says AND YOU CAN USE A DIFFERENT
COLOURED GREEN TO MAKE EVEN
MORE TREES.
THIS IS GREAT FUN, BUT IT CAN
GET A BIT MESSY, SO GIVE YOUR
HANDS A WIPE IN BETWEEN
COLOURS.
NOW MAKE THE TREE TRUNKS WITH
THE BROWN PAINT.
YOU CAN DO THIS BY DIPPING THE
SIDE OF YOUR HAND INTO THE
PAINT AND PRINTING IT IN THE
SAME WAY.
He dabs some brown paint and draws lines in between the green ones to form the tree trunks.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says THIS GIVES YOU A NICE THICK
TREE TRUNK.
NOW LEAVE IT TO DRY.
FOR THE LEAVES ON THE TREES,
YOU'LL NEED SOME LIGHT GREEN
PAINT.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY, JUST ADD
WHITE PAINT TO THE ORDINARY
GREEN PAINT AND MIX IT
TOGETHER.
MAKE LEAVES LIKE THIS.
He dabs some green paint forming little spots over the tree trunks to make the leaves.
Mister Maker says NOW FOR THE GRASS.
DAB SOME LIGHT GREEN PAINT
ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE PAPER.
He dips all the fingers of his hand in the light green paint and presses them down on the paper to form the grass.
Mister Maker says ADD A BIT OF DARK GREEN; YOU
CAN EVEN ADD SOME JUNGLE
FLOWERS WITH YELLOW PAINT AND
LET'S MAKE A TIGER TO LIVE IN
THE JUNGLE.
DAB ORANGE PAINT FROM YOUR
FINGER IN A CIRCLE FOR ITS
HEAD.
ADD SOME EARS.
He dabs two circles over the tiger’s head.
Mister Maker says AND NOW FOR THE FACE.
ADD EYES BY MAKING TWO SMALL
WHITE DOTS WITH YOUR FINGER.
ADD YELLOW DOTS ON THE EARS AND
CHEEKS AND WHEN IT'S DRY, USE A
BLACK PEN FOR THE EYE AND
MOUTH.
He draws the eyes and mouth with the black pen.
Mister Maker says ALL FINISHED.
A FANTASTIC FINGER-PAINT
JUNGLE.
WHAT A BRILLIANT PICTURE!
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A GO AND
THEN... FRAME IT!
Mr. Maker snaps his fingers. The finger-paint jungle appears inside a frame.
The tiger in the paint roars.
Mister Maker says VERY IMPRESSIVE.
NOW FOR SOMETHING REALLY
SPECIAL.
TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
Mr. Maker sits on the sofa. He grabs a pencil.
Mister Maker says IT'S MY MAGIC PENCIL AND IT CAN
DRAW PICTURES ALL ON ITS OWN.
WATCH THIS.
(music plays)
Mister Maker puts the magic pencil over the paper. The magic pencil starts to draw.
Mister Maker says CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IT'S
DRAWING?
(music plays)
Mister Maker says WOW!
IT'S AN ICE-SKATER.
WELL DONE, MAGIC PENCIL.
NOW LOOK AT THIS.
Mister Maker stands next to a tall tower of colourful paper cups.
HEY, LOOK AT MY HUMONGOUS
PAPER CUP TOWER!
IT'S TAKEN ME AGES TO GET IT
THIS TALL YOU KNOW.
IT'S GREAT, ISN'T IT?
BUT I HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL,
BECAUSE THE SLIGHTEST WRONG
MOVE AND THE WHOLE THING COULD
COME CRASHING DOWN.
HERE, IMAGINE IF I HAD TO START
ALL THIS AGAIN.
NOW, JUST ONE MORE CUP ON THE
TOP.
HERE WE GO...
Tocky pops up and says OH-HO!
Mister Maker startles and the tower falls down.
He says OH NO,
MY PAPER CUP TOWER!
Tocky says OH, SORRY.
Mister Maker says HONESTLY, THAT
BIRD.
I WISH I COULD LET HIM KNOW
SOMETIMES THAT I DON'T WANT TO
BE DISTURBED.
OH, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA.
An icon with the shape of a lamp pops up.
Mister Maker says LET'S MAKE SOMETHING.
A BRILLIANT HANGING SIGN FOR
YOUR BEDROOM DOOR THAT LETS
YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW
WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO BE
DISTURBED.
LET'S MAKE IT!
WE'LL NEED SOME THINGS FROM
THE DOODLE DRAWERS.
COME ON, EVERYONE.
(music plays)
He runs to the doodle drawers to pick up the materials.
Mister Maker says AN EMPTY SHOWER GEL BOTTLE WITH
A HANDLE LIKE THIS.
He shows a shower gel bottle with a curvy handle with the shape of a hook.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says SOME THICK PAPER OR THIN CARD
AND SOME TISSUE PAPER.
SOME PAINT AND SOME GLOOPY PVA
GLUE.
A PENCIL AND A BLACK PEN.
AND SOME BITS OF WOOL.
(music plays)
He takes all the things to the table.
He says WHOA!
NOW, TO MAKE OUR HANGING
"DO NOT DISTURB" SIGN LIKE THIS
ONE HERE,
He shows a hanging sign. It has a smiling face on one side and a sleepy face on the other.
Mister Maker says FIRSTLY, YOU HAVE TO
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SHOWER GEL
BOTTLE IS TOTALLY CLEAN.
NOW YOU MIGHT WANT TO ASK AN
ADULT TO HELP YOU WITH THIS
BIT.
THEN WE NEED TO COVER THE WHOLE
THING IN A LIGHT TISSUE PAPER
OR KITCHEN ROLL.
SO LET'S PUT ON PLENTY OF
GLOOPY GLUE.
WE'RE GOING TO COVER THE WHOLE
THING, THE BOTTLE AND THE LID
AND THEN LEAVE IT TO DRY.
A ticking clock appears on screen.
Mister Maker says THEN, WHEN IT'S ALL DRY, YOU
CAN PAINT YOUR BOTTLE WHATEVER
COLOUR YOU LIKE.
THIS ONE'S GOING TO BE MY FACE,
SO LET'S USE PINK PAINT.
(music plays)
He paints the bottle with a soft pink.
Mister Maker says WHEN THE PAINT IS DRY, WE CAN
DRAW THE FACE DETAILS ON WITH
A PENCIL.
THIS FACE IS GOING TO BE WIDE
AWAKE.
(music plays)
He draws a two big circles for the eyes, a nose and a big smile.
Mister Maker says THERE.
NOW FOR THE OTHER SIDE, LET'S
DRAW A FACE THAT'S FAST ASLEEP.
(music plays)
He draws two curvy lines for the eyes, a pair of eyebrows, a nose and a curvy line for the mouth.
Mister Maker says THERE, NOW DON'T FORGET THAT
YOU WILL NEED TWO EARS AND A
HAIRSTYLE FOR BOTH SIDES.
SO, LET'S BRING IN A PIECE OF
CARD, AND IF WE FOLD IT IN HALF,
WE GET TWO OF EVERYTHING WE
DRAW.
AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO DRAW TWO
EARS, STARTING AT THE OPEN END
OF OUR PAPER.
He draws two curvy lines forming a U for the ears.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says AND WE CAN ALSO DRAW A
HAIRSTYLE.
He draws two curvy lines, like a smaller U into a bigger U.
He says THERE.
NOW WE CAN CUT THESE SHAPES OUT.
BUT BE CAREFUL BECAUSE SCISSORS
ARE SHARP.
An icon showing a pair of scissors pops up.
Mister Maker says OH!
SO NOW WE'VE GOT TWO PAIRS OF
EARS AND TWO HAIRSTYLES AND
WE'RE READY TO GLUE THEM ONTO
OUR BOTTLE.
SO LET'S STICK OUR HAIRSTYLE
HERE ON TOP OF THE HEAD.
He sticks the hair style on the top of the bottle.
Mister Maker says AND WE CAN STICK OUR EARS HERE,
EITHER SIDE OF THE EYES.
WHEN YOU'VE DONE THAT, TURN YOUR
BOTTLE OVER AND DO EXACTLY THE
SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE.
AND WHEN IT'S NICE AND DRY, YOU
CAN PAINT IT.
HOW ABOUT PINK FOR THE EARS AND
ROSY CHEEKS AND WHITE FOR THE
TEETH AND THE EYES.
AND FOR THE HAIR, I THINK BROWN
WOULD BE NICE.
LIKE MINE.
(music plays)
He colours the face.
Mister Maker says NOW, ADD SOME FINISHING TOUCHES
WITH A BLACK PEN.
(music plays)
He outlines the eyes, the nose and the mouth and he draws the teeth.
Mister Maker says AND YOU CAN EVEN STICK ON SOME
EXTRA BITS OF WOOL FOR HAIR.
He sticks bits of wool over the hairstyle.
Mister Maker says KEEP GOING UNTIL YOU'RE HAPPY
WITH YOUR HAIR, AND DON'T FORGET
TO TURN IT OVER AND DO THE SAME
ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Now, the finished sig appears on screen.
Mister Maker says WOW!
WHAT A HANDSOME CHAP.
YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE LOOKING
IN A MIRROR.
YOU CAN HANG THIS ON YOUR
BEDROOM DOOR THIS WAY IF YOU'RE
AWAKE AND YOU DON'T MIND
VISITORS,
He shows the smiling side of the sign.
Mister Maker says OR HANG IT THIS WAY IF
YOU'RE ASLEEP AND YOU DON'T
WANT TO BE DISTURBED.
He shows the side with the eyes closed.
Mister Maker says YOU CAN TRY ANY DESIGN YOU
WANT.
HOW ABOUT A YELLOW AND BROWN
LION.
A sign with a face of a lion pops up.
Mister Maker says GIVE IT A REALLY WILD
HAIRSTYLE WITH LOTS OF WOOL
FOR THE LION'S MANE.
OR A SILLY GREEN MONSTER
WITH GREEN TISSUE PAPER AND
WOOL FOR ITS HAIR.
SO THERE YOU GO, THE PERFECT
WAY OF LETTING EVERYBODY KNOW
THAT YOU WANT A BIT OF PEACE
AND QUIET.
Tocky pops up and says TIME TO GO!
Mister Maker says OH, WELL.
IT LOOKS LIKE MY MAKING TIME
IS OVER, BUT YOURS IS JUST
BEGINNING.
SEE YOU SOON!
A slate with the logos of The Foundation and CBeebies appear on screen. A caption reads: Copyright The foundation TV productions Ltd. 2008.
A song plays. It says MISTER MAKER

THOSE SHAPES.
THEY'RE BRILLIANT!
A puppet of a bird comes out of a clock. It has yellow feathers and a big beak.
Tocky says TOCKY HERE.
MINUTE-MAKE TIME!
Mister Maker says OH, IT'S
MINUTE-MAKE TIME.
COME ON, EVERYONE.
(music plays)
He runs back to the table.
Mister Maker says IT'S MINUTE-MAKE TIME.
AND HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO
MAKE TODAY, A ONE-EYED MONSTER.
He points to a green one-eyed monster.
The monster says AYE, AYE.
Mister Maker says NOW, TO MAKE
THIS ONE-EYED MONSTER, YOU WILL
NEED A FEATHER, A PEN, SOME
SCISSORS, SOME GREEN CARD AND A
GOOGLY EYE AND SOME AIR DRYING
CLAY THAT YOU CAN GET FROM AN
ART-AND-CRAFTS SHOP.
He goes out.
[Car revs]
He opens the door and says I'VE GOT THEM.
He shows a bag.
Mister Maker says RIGHT, I'M GOING TO PUT MY AIR
DRYING CLAY DOWN THERE AT THE
MOMENT AND LEAVE IT IN THE BAG.
BUT HERE'S MY GOOGLY EYE.
PUT THAT DOWN THERE.
NOW DO YOU THINK IT'S POSSIBLE
TO MAKE THIS, IN JUST ONE
MINUTE?
Tocky says NOT A CHANCE.
Mister Maker says WELL, I THINK
I CAN, TOCKY.
I WILL HAVE TO MOVE VERY
QUICKLY, BUT DON'T WORRY, I'LL
REMIND YOU HOW TO DO IT AT THE
END.
ARE YOU READY?
LET'S MAKE IT IN A MINUTE.
START THE CLOCK!
A clock pops up on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Mr. Maker says RIGHT, I'M GOING TO GET ONE
BIG LUMP OF CLAY AND ROLL IT
INTO A BALL AND THEN SQUASH
IT INTO THE BODY SHAPE OF
MY MONSTER.
THEN I'M GOING TO GET TWO
SMALLER LUMPS OF CLAY AND
ROLL THEM INTO SMALL
SAUSAGES.
THESE ARE GOING TO BE THE
MONSTER'S LEGS.
THERE WE GO, THERE ARE THE
LEGS.
AND THERE'S THE BODY.
He joins the body to the legs.
Mister Maker says OKAY, LOOKING GOOD.
RIGHT, I'M GOING TO GET A
FEATHER NOW AND STICK THAT
IN THE TOP THERE AND THEN
GIVE MY MONSTER AN EYE.
He puts the feather on top of the body and then he puts the eye on the forehead.
Mister Maker says NOW WE NEED TO GIVE HIM SOME
ARMS, DON'T WE?
SO FOR THAT WE CAN DRAW
THOSE ON THE SIDE OF THIS
CARD HERE.
He draws a pair of arms on the green card.
Mister Maker says THERE'S ONE ARM, THERE'S TWO
ARMS AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO
CUT THESE OUT.
Tocky says BE CAREFUL.
Mister Maker says DON'T WORRY
TOCKY, I'M BEING CAREFUL.
HERE WE GO - OH, I'M
RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
RIGHT, GOING TO CUT ROUND
HERE.
THERE WE GO.
COME ON, NOW, DON'T FAIL ME
SCISSORS, DON'T FAIL ME.
Tocky says COME ON, SLOW COACH!
Mister Maker says I'M GOING
AS QUICK AS I CAN, TOCKY.
THERE WE GO, THERE'S ONE IN
THERE AND ONE IN THERE.
THERE, I'VE DONE IT!
[Bell ringing]
Tocky says LUCKY, LUCKY!
Mister Maker says HEY, THAT WAS
LUCKY.
AND IF YOU'VE GOT MORE THAN A
MINUTE, YOU CAN PAINT YOUR
MONSTER A NICE BRIGHT COLOUR.
HOW ABOUT AN ORANGE STRIPY ONE.
An orange stripy monster appears on screen.
Mister Maker says YOU CAN EVEN MAKE ONE WITH TWO
EYES, LIKE THIS BLUE SPOTTY ONE.
A blue spotty monster appears on screen.
He says DON'T I LOOK GREAT?
Mister Maker says ONE-EYED
MONSTERS MADE IN A MINUTE.
WHY DON'T YOU TRY IT?
HERE'S A REMINDER OF HOW TO
DO IT.
Now, the video plays with a rewind effect.
Mister Maker says LET'S GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING
AND TAKE ANOTHER LOOK.
SQUASH CLAY INTO A BALL FOR THE
MONSTER'S BODY, ROLL TWO
SAUSAGE SHAPES FOR THE LEGS AND
STICK THEM ON TO THE BODY,
STICK A FEATHER ON TOP AND
THEN STICK ON THE GOOGLY EYE.
DRAW TWO ARMS ON THE COLOURED
PAPER, CUT THEM OUT AND FINALLY
STICK THE ARMS INTO YOUR
ONE-EYED MONSTER.
[Tape rewinds]
WHY DON'T YOU TRY MAKING IT
IN A MINUTE?
Now, a lot of kids stand behind the window.
The kids say HELLO, MISTER MAKER.
GUESS WHAT WE'RE MAKING TODAY.
Mister Maker says OH, I DON'T
KNOW.
LET'S FIND OUT.
(music plays)
The kids run in a white room. They are dressed in different colours.
A boy lies on the floor and says I'M BLACK.
Lots of images of the same boy lying in different positions appear on screen.
(music plays)
A girl says I AM PINK.
(music plays)
Lots of images of the same girl lying in different positions appear on screen.
Another boy says I AM GREEN.
(music plays)
A boy says I AM BROWN.
The brown boys lie in the floor and form a long line.
(music plays)
A girl says I AM ORANGE.
The orange girls form a triangular shape.
(music plays)
Another girl says I AM RED.
The red girls lie in the floor and form spiky shapes.
(music plays)
An aerial image of the kids lying on the floor appears on screen.
The kids say IT'S A PARROT!
Mister Maker says WELL DONE,
EVERYONE.
SEE YOU NEXT TIME.
Now, Mr. Maker appears on screen. He stands behind a frame.
He says NOW IT'S TIME TO...
FRAME IT!
[Camera shutter]
He stands behind another frame and says FRAME IT...
[Camera shutter]
He stands behind another frame and says FRAME IT.
[Camera shutter]
He stands in front of the pictures and says NOW TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
THIS IS A BRILLIANT JUNGLE
PICTURE.
YOU DON'T EVEN NEED A
PAINTBRUSH TO DO IT, JUST
PAINT AND YOUR FINGERS.
IT LOOKS SO GOOD THAT YOU WILL
BE ABLE TO FRAME IT.
YOU WILL NEED SOME COLOURED
PAPER, A BLACK PEN AND LOTS OF
DIFFERENT COLOURED PAINTS:
YELLOW, BROWN, ORANGE, WHITE.
AND THREE DIFFERENT SHADES OF
GREEN.
PLUS, THERE'S ONE OTHER
IMPORTANT INGREDIENT:
YOUR FINGERS.
YOU WILL NEED TO START OFF WITH
SOME DARK GREEN PAINT, BUT IF
YOU DON'T HAVE ANY, IT'S REALLY
EASY TO MAKE.
JUST ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF
BLACK PAINT TO AN ORDINARY
GREEN PAINT AND MIX TOGETHER.
THE MORE BLACK PAINT YOU ADD,
THE DARKER YOUR GREEN WILL BE.
JUST DIP YOUR FINGERS INTO THE
PAINT AND DAB THEM DOWNWARDS ON
THE PAPER, LIKE THIS, TO MAKE
THE TREES AT THE BACK OF THE
JUNGLE.
He dabs some dark green paint and draws lines to form the trees.
Mister Maker says AND YOU CAN USE A DIFFERENT
COLOURED GREEN TO MAKE EVEN
MORE TREES.
THIS IS GREAT FUN, BUT IT CAN
GET A BIT MESSY, SO GIVE YOUR
HANDS A WIPE IN BETWEEN
COLOURS.
NOW MAKE THE TREE TRUNKS WITH
THE BROWN PAINT.
YOU CAN DO THIS BY DIPPING THE
SIDE OF YOUR HAND INTO THE
PAINT AND PRINTING IT IN THE
SAME WAY.
He dabs some brown paint and draws lines in between the green ones to form the tree trunks.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says THIS GIVES YOU A NICE THICK
TREE TRUNK.
NOW LEAVE IT TO DRY.
FOR THE LEAVES ON THE TREES,
YOU'LL NEED SOME LIGHT GREEN
PAINT.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY, JUST ADD
WHITE PAINT TO THE ORDINARY
GREEN PAINT AND MIX IT
TOGETHER.
MAKE LEAVES LIKE THIS.
He dabs some green paint forming little spots over the tree trunks to make the leaves.
Mister Maker says NOW FOR THE GRASS.
DAB SOME LIGHT GREEN PAINT
ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE PAPER.
He dips all the fingers of his hand in the light green paint and presses them down on the paper to form the grass.
Mister Maker says ADD A BIT OF DARK GREEN; YOU
CAN EVEN ADD SOME JUNGLE
FLOWERS WITH YELLOW PAINT AND
LET'S MAKE A TIGER TO LIVE IN
THE JUNGLE.
DAB ORANGE PAINT FROM YOUR
FINGER IN A CIRCLE FOR ITS
HEAD.
ADD SOME EARS.
He dabs two circles over the tiger’s head.
Mister Maker says AND NOW FOR THE FACE.
ADD EYES BY MAKING TWO SMALL
WHITE DOTS WITH YOUR FINGER.
ADD YELLOW DOTS ON THE EARS AND
CHEEKS AND WHEN IT'S DRY, USE A
BLACK PEN FOR THE EYE AND
MOUTH.
He draws the eyes and mouth with the black pen.
Mister Maker says ALL FINISHED.
A FANTASTIC FINGER-PAINT
JUNGLE.
WHAT A BRILLIANT PICTURE!
WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A GO AND
THEN... FRAME IT!
Mr. Maker snaps his fingers. The finger-paint jungle appears inside a frame.
The tiger in the paint roars.
Mister Maker says VERY IMPRESSIVE.
NOW FOR SOMETHING REALLY
SPECIAL.
TAKE A LOOK AT THIS.
Mr. Maker sits on the sofa. He grabs a pencil.
Mister Maker says IT'S MY MAGIC PENCIL AND IT CAN
DRAW PICTURES ALL ON ITS OWN.
WATCH THIS.
(music plays)
Mister Maker puts the magic pencil over the paper. The magic pencil starts to draw.
Mister Maker says CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IT'S
DRAWING?
(music plays)
Mister Maker says WOW!
IT'S AN ICE-SKATER.
WELL DONE, MAGIC PENCIL.
NOW LOOK AT THIS.
Mister Maker stands next to a tall tower of colourful paper cups.
HEY, LOOK AT MY HUMONGOUS
PAPER CUP TOWER!
IT'S TAKEN ME AGES TO GET IT
THIS TALL YOU KNOW.
IT'S GREAT, ISN'T IT?
BUT I HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL,
BECAUSE THE SLIGHTEST WRONG
MOVE AND THE WHOLE THING COULD
COME CRASHING DOWN.
HERE, IMAGINE IF I HAD TO START
ALL THIS AGAIN.
NOW, JUST ONE MORE CUP ON THE
TOP.
HERE WE GO...
Tocky pops up and says OH-HO!
Mister Maker startles and the tower falls down.
He says OH NO,
MY PAPER CUP TOWER!
Tocky says OH, SORRY.
Mister Maker says HONESTLY, THAT
BIRD.
I WISH I COULD LET HIM KNOW
SOMETIMES THAT I DON'T WANT TO
BE DISTURBED.
OH, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA.
An icon with the shape of a lamp pops up.
Mister Maker says LET'S MAKE SOMETHING.
A BRILLIANT HANGING SIGN FOR
YOUR BEDROOM DOOR THAT LETS
YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW
WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO BE
DISTURBED.
LET'S MAKE IT!
WE'LL NEED SOME THINGS FROM
THE DOODLE DRAWERS.
COME ON, EVERYONE.
(music plays)
He runs to the doodle drawers to pick up the materials.
Mister Maker says AN EMPTY SHOWER GEL BOTTLE WITH
A HANDLE LIKE THIS.
He shows a shower gel bottle with a curvy handle with the shape of a hook.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says SOME THICK PAPER OR THIN CARD
AND SOME TISSUE PAPER.
SOME PAINT AND SOME GLOOPY PVA
GLUE.
A PENCIL AND A BLACK PEN.
AND SOME BITS OF WOOL.
(music plays)
He takes all the things to the table.
He says WHOA!
NOW, TO MAKE OUR HANGING
"DO NOT DISTURB" SIGN LIKE THIS
ONE HERE,
He shows a hanging sign. It has a smiling face on one side and a sleepy face on the other.
Mister Maker says FIRSTLY, YOU HAVE TO
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SHOWER GEL
BOTTLE IS TOTALLY CLEAN.
NOW YOU MIGHT WANT TO ASK AN
ADULT TO HELP YOU WITH THIS
BIT.
THEN WE NEED TO COVER THE WHOLE
THING IN A LIGHT TISSUE PAPER
OR KITCHEN ROLL.
SO LET'S PUT ON PLENTY OF
GLOOPY GLUE.
WE'RE GOING TO COVER THE WHOLE
THING, THE BOTTLE AND THE LID
AND THEN LEAVE IT TO DRY.
A ticking clock appears on screen.
Mister Maker says THEN, WHEN IT'S ALL DRY, YOU
CAN PAINT YOUR BOTTLE WHATEVER
COLOUR YOU LIKE.
THIS ONE'S GOING TO BE MY FACE,
SO LET'S USE PINK PAINT.
(music plays)
He paints the bottle with a soft pink.
Mister Maker says WHEN THE PAINT IS DRY, WE CAN
DRAW THE FACE DETAILS ON WITH
A PENCIL.
THIS FACE IS GOING TO BE WIDE
AWAKE.
(music plays)
He draws a two big circles for the eyes, a nose and a big smile.
Mister Maker says THERE.
NOW FOR THE OTHER SIDE, LET'S
DRAW A FACE THAT'S FAST ASLEEP.
(music plays)
He draws two curvy lines for the eyes, a pair of eyebrows, a nose and a curvy line for the mouth.
Mister Maker says THERE, NOW DON'T FORGET THAT
YOU WILL NEED TWO EARS AND A
HAIRSTYLE FOR BOTH SIDES.
SO, LET'S BRING IN A PIECE OF
CARD, AND IF WE FOLD IT IN HALF,
WE GET TWO OF EVERYTHING WE
DRAW.
AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO DRAW TWO
EARS, STARTING AT THE OPEN END
OF OUR PAPER.
He draws two curvy lines forming a U for the ears.
(music plays)
Mister Maker says AND WE CAN ALSO DRAW A
HAIRSTYLE.
He draws two curvy lines, like a smaller U into a bigger U.
He says THERE.
NOW WE CAN CUT THESE SHAPES OUT.
BUT BE CAREFUL BECAUSE SCISSORS
ARE SHARP.
An icon showing a pair of scissors pops up.
Mister Maker says OH!
SO NOW WE'VE GOT TWO PAIRS OF
EARS AND TWO HAIRSTYLES AND
WE'RE READY TO GLUE THEM ONTO
OUR BOTTLE.
SO LET'S STICK OUR HAIRSTYLE
HERE ON TOP OF THE HEAD.
He sticks the hair style on the top of the bottle.
Mister Maker says AND WE CAN STICK OUR EARS HERE,
EITHER SIDE OF THE EYES.
WHEN YOU'VE DONE THAT, TURN YOUR
BOTTLE OVER AND DO EXACTLY THE
SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE.
AND WHEN IT'S NICE AND DRY, YOU
CAN PAINT IT.
HOW ABOUT PINK FOR THE EARS AND
ROSY CHEEKS AND WHITE FOR THE
TEETH AND THE EYES.
AND FOR THE HAIR, I THINK BROWN
WOULD BE NICE.
LIKE MINE.
(music plays)
He colours the face.
Mister Maker says NOW, ADD SOME FINISHING TOUCHES
WITH A BLACK PEN.
(music plays)
He outlines the eyes, the nose and the mouth and he draws the teeth.
Mister Maker says AND YOU CAN EVEN STICK ON SOME
EXTRA BITS OF WOOL FOR HAIR.
He sticks bits of wool over the hairstyle.
Mister Maker says KEEP GOING UNTIL YOU'RE HAPPY
WITH YOUR HAIR, AND DON'T FORGET
TO TURN IT OVER AND DO THE SAME
ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Now, the finished sig appears on screen.
Mister Maker says WOW!
WHAT A HANDSOME CHAP.
YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE LOOKING
IN A MIRROR.
YOU CAN HANG THIS ON YOUR
BEDROOM DOOR THIS WAY IF YOU'RE
AWAKE AND YOU DON'T MIND
VISITORS,
He shows the smiling side of the sign.
Mister Maker says OR HANG IT THIS WAY IF
YOU'RE ASLEEP AND YOU DON'T
WANT TO BE DISTURBED.
He shows the side with the eyes closed.
Mister Maker says YOU CAN TRY ANY DESIGN YOU
WANT.
HOW ABOUT A YELLOW AND BROWN
LION.
A sign with a face of a lion pops up.
Mister Maker says GIVE IT A REALLY WILD
HAIRSTYLE WITH LOTS OF WOOL
FOR THE LION'S MANE.
OR A SILLY GREEN MONSTER
WITH GREEN TISSUE PAPER AND
WOOL FOR ITS HAIR.
SO THERE YOU GO, THE PERFECT
WAY OF LETTING EVERYBODY KNOW
THAT YOU WANT A BIT OF PEACE
AND QUIET.
Tocky pops up and says TIME TO GO!
Mister Maker says OH, WELL.
IT LOOKS LIKE MY MAKING TIME
IS OVER, BUT YOURS IS JUST
BEGINNING.
SEE YOU SOON!
