Transcript: Veterinarian
A boy with short hair and glasses wears a red shirt.
The boy says, HI, I’M BEN
IF I COULD BE ANYTHING,
I’D BE A VETERINARIAN!
Opening sequence. In a montage, different kids experience an imaginative world drawn around them. A girl wears an apron and chef’s hat as she snorkels past mermaids and fish holding a tray of cupcakes. A boy wears a suit while he stands at a podium drawn in front of him. Another looks at a map with a magnifying glass. A girl wears a police uniform while another does a cartwheel. A boy wears safety goggles and a boy wears a tie.
[Upbeat music]
A voice sings, IMAGINE, IMAGINE, IMAGINE.
A female voice sings, IMAGINE POWERFUL.
IMAGINE COMICAL.
IMAGINE MAGICAL.
Starring Ben. Ben stands at an easel. On a large piece of paper he draws a man standing beside a dog.
In a voice over, Ben says, HI, I’M BEN.
IF I COULD BE ANYTHING,
I WOULD BE A VETERINARIAN!
Ben wears scrubs with pockets.
Ben says, A VETERINARIAN IS
A DOCTOR FOR ANIMALS!
I WOULD WORK IN
A VETERINARIAN CLINIC
AND WEAR BLUE
DOCTOR’S CLOTHES.
THEY ARE CALLED SCRUBS.
Ben shows off his scrubs. He pets a kitten.
Ben says, WHEN A KITTEN IS SICK
THEY WOULD COME TO SEE ME.
AND I WOULD FIND
OUT WHAT’S WRONG.
AH…AH..AH…CHOO!
The kitten sneezes. Ben dodges the sneeze.
Ben says, POOR KITTY’S NOT FEELING WELL.
Ben gets out a handkerchief.
Ben says, THAT’S BETTER.
PETS CAN’T TELL ME
WHAT’S WRONG,
SO I HAVE TO EXAMINE THEM.
I’D USE MY FLASHLIGHT TO LOOK
INSIDE THE KITTY’S EARS.
He shines a flashlight into the kittens ear cannel.
Ben says, AND INSIDE THE KITTY’S MOUTH.
He uses a tongue depressor to examine her mouth.
[Loud meow]
Ben says, AH! GERMS.
THAT KITTEN HAS A COLD.
Ben pets the kitten.
He says, I WOULD SEND THE KITTEN HOME
WITH SOME MEDICINE.
AND EVEN A LITTLE CAT TOY!
The cat plays with a ball of yarn. Ben imitates jingle sounds.
[Bell jingles]
Ben says, DON’T WORRY LITTLE KITTY,
YOU’LL BE BETTER IN NO TIME.
HEY!
[Giggle]
Ben says, THAT TICKLES!
She licks his face. Ben chases a dog through the office.
Ben says, SOMETIMES, PETS COME IN
FOR JUST A CHECK UP.
Ben picks up the dog. He looks through a magnifying glass.
Ben says, SO I CHECK THEIR EYES
AND THEIR TEETH
AND THEIR FUR.
Fleas hop about the dogs fur.
Ben says, OH!
WHEN A PUPPY HAS FLEAS,
IT NEEDS A SPECIAL BATH.
He fills a tub with soap and water, then tosses the puppy in the bath. The puppy splashes water everywhere.
Ben says, PUPPIES LOVE TO SPLASH!
SPLISH-SPLASH, SPLISH-SPLASH,
SPLISH-SPLASH!
AFTER THE BATH, THE PUPPY
IS READY TO PLAY AGAIN!
Ben throws a ball for the puppy. It fetches a ball then a frisbee that Ben throws.
Ben says, FETCH!
The puppy returns the frisbee to Ben. Ben throws a large bone in the air.
Ben says, GO FETCH!
The puppy fetches the bone.
Ben says YEP.
HE’S A HEALTHY
AND HAPPY PUPPY.
A snake, chicken, horse and birds fill the clinic. Ben plugs his ears.
Ben says, IT’S CRAZY IN HERE, BUT FUN.
I LOVE ANIMALS!
He smiles as he feeds treats to a bird, giraffe, frog, hippo and a monkey that swings on a vine. Ben pats the pockets on his scrubs.
Ben says, OH OH!
NOT AGAIN!
Ben shrugs. He chases the monkey.
Ben says, THIS IS BUBBLES!
OOO, OOH!
BUBBLES ALWAYS
COMES TO SEE ME
WHEN HE BUMPS HIS HEAD.
Bubbles the monkey swings back and forth through the office on the vine. Ben catches Bubbles and holds him.
Ben says, SILLY MONKEY!
Ben places Bubbles on a table.
Ben says, I BANDAGE HIS HEAD
CAREFULLY
AND TELL HIM NOT TO CLIMB
ANYMORE TREES FOR THREE WEEKS.
The monkey swings out the window into the tree tops.
Ben says, OOOO, OOOOH!
Ben shakes his head.
Ben says, BUT SOMETIMES THAT MONKEY
JUST DOESN’T LISTEN.
SILLY MONKEY!
Ben high fives a bunny.
Ben says, I LOVE BEING A VETERINARIAN
BECAUSE I GET TO HELP
ALL KINDS OF ANIMALS.
IT’S FUN!
Ben grins.
A male voice sings, CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING
ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE?
