An animated clip shows a big orange X on a blue background. It explodes and letters and numbers come out of it in all directions and float around.

Mathemagician Eric appears on screen. He’s in his mid-twenties. He has short dark brown hair and a beard. He wears a red T-shirt with the show’s logo, blue jeans and red Tennis shoes.

The screen turns red and the logo of the show appears next. It reads "MathXplosion." Meanwhile, cones, cubes and dices float around it.

Kids voices sing a song with lyrics that go
WHAT A HIT
IT'S NOT A TRICK
IT'S MATHXPLOSION
JUST FOR YOU
COOL AND NEW
MATHXPLOSION!

The episode starts with Eric standing in a workroom wearing big round glasses.

Eric says OH, HI.
HA HA.
IF I ASKED YOU WHAT THE
MOST IMPORTANT NUMBER WAS,
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
YOU MIGHT GUESS
100 OR MAYBE 1,000.
MAYBE EVEN 1 MILLION,
1 BILLION,
OR EVEN A GOOGOL.
BUT WHAT IF I TOLD
YOU THAT THE MOST
IMPORTANT NUMBER
IS REALLY...
ZERO.

He pulls out a blue cutout of the number Zero.

He continues
IT'S TRUE.

(music plays)

He takes a 10 bill and blows it. Magically, it turns into a 1,000 bill.

He says 10.
1,000 - HA!
ZERO.

(music plays)

Eric appears now standing in front of a large board with Zeroes floating in different colours.

He says OKAY, LISTEN UP.
ZEROES CHANGE
EVERYTHING.
THEY TELL US HOW
NUMBERS ARE GROWING.
FOR EXAMPLE,
ONE ZERO: 10s.
TWO ZEROES: 100s.
THREE ZEROES: 1,000s!
LITTLE CIRCLE,
BIG MEANING.
BIG NUMBERS.
LET ME
SHOW YOU.
SAY YOU WANTED TO MAKE
A FRIENDSHIP BRACELET
FOR YOUR FRIEND.
AND YOU ONLY
HAD 10 BEADS.

(music plays)

He sits on the floor and a wordcount next to him goes all the way up to 10. He has a can with colourful beads next to him. As he puts them on the floor, the wordcount on top of the screen changes numbers up to 100.

He says THERE'S 10 BEADS.
BUT SAY YOU
NEEDED MORE.
HMM, LET'S PUT
A ZERO HERE
AND IT SUDDENLY
BECOMES...
AHH.
WHOA, THAT'S
100 BEADS!
PLACE YET ANOTHER ZERO
AND IT TURNS INTO...

(music plays)

Eric forms small piles of beads on the floor. A dynamic yellow circle contains them inside. Now he has three different piles: 10, 100 and 1000. Dynamic yellow numbers appear next to each pile.

Eric says WHEW!
WOW!
THAT'S 1,000 BEADS!
WANT TO SEE WHAT 1 MILLION
LOOKS LIKE?

(music plays)

He takes off his shows and moves next to a bathtub. He gets inside and starts pouring the beads as if they were water. The bathtub gets filled with the beads and the number 1000000 appears on screen.

He says WHEW!
1 MILLION!
THAT IS A LOT OF
FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS.
I GUESS I NEED TO GO
FIND SOME MORE FRIENDS.
CHECK THIS OUT.

(music plays)

Eric draws a circle and colours it inside. He taps on it and a new clip plays. In it, a cartoon of Eric stands next to a calendar. As he counts, the numbers in it will blink.

He says I WONDER HOW LONG IT TAKES
TO COUNT TO 1 MILLION.
1, 2, 3, 4...
100,001, 100,002...
AND 1 MILLION!
TURNS OUT IT TAKES ABOUT 23
DAYS TO COUNT TO 1 MILLION,
IF YOU SAY EACH NUMBER
NAME OUT LOUD.
WHEW!
I'M GOING TO BED.

Eric appears back in the workroom.

He says ZEROES CHANGE
EVERYTHING.
LITTLE CIRCLE,
BIG MEANING.
OH, REMEMBER,
IT'S NOT MAGIC;
IT'S BATH.
UH - MATH.
IT'S NOT MATH?
OF COURSE IT'S MATH.
I'M SITTING ON A BATH,
BUT BATH ISN'T - IT'S MATH.

A big explosion brings the show’s logo back on the screen.

The end credits roll.
