Young voices say, THE
DAY HENRY MET…

(Bells)

The voices say, …A BEE!

(Children laughing)

Outside a forest, Henry approaches a tall sign. A woman with red hair follows him. Henry walks through the forest. The forest has a river running through it, flowers and a bees nest. A bee flies below the nest. Henry walks to the edge of the river. The bee turns towards Henry.

(Slow happy horn music plays)

Henry says, HELLO BEE.

Henry waves at the bee.

(Buzzing)

The bee says, HELLO HENRY.

(Buzzing)

Henry asks, HOW ARE YOU TODAY BEE?

(Buzzing)

The bee says, I FEEL GREAT HENRY.
IT'S A BEE-UTIFUL DAY FOR
BUZZING AROUND THE BEAUTIFUL PLANTS
AND FLOWERS IN THE
WILDLIFE PRESERVE.

(Buzzing)

Henry says, THERE SURE ARE A LOT OF
PLANTS AND FLOWERS BEE.
THEY MUST KEEP YOU VERY BUSY.

The bee laughs.

She says, I'M ALWAYS BUSY HENRY
BECAUSE I'M A WORKER BEE.

(Buzzing)

Henry asks, A WORKER BEE?
WHAT'S THAT?

The bee says, WELL HENRY, THERE ARE
DIFFERENT TYPES OF HONEY BEES.

The bee flies towards the bees nest. Inside the nest is a large bee that wears a crown facing three other bees.

Henrys bee friend says, THERE'S THE QUEEN BEE, A
DRONE BEE AND TTHEN HERE'S ME,
A WORKER BEE.
WE SPEND MOST OF OUR TIME
FLYING FROM FLOWER TO FLOWER
GATHERING NECTAR THEN WE
TAKE IT BACK TO THE BEE HIVE
WHERE IT'S MADE INTO HONEY
FOR ALL THE OTHER BEES
TO EAT FOR THEIR DINNER.

Henry says, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A
VERY IMPORTANT JOB, BEE.

The bee says, IT'S DEFINITELY IMPORTANT
BECAUSE US WORKER BEES ALSO HAVE
TO SPREAD POLLEN BETWEEN
ALL THE DIFFERENT PLANTS,
WHICH HELPS NEW FLOWERS GROW.

All the flowers in the forest say, HELLO HENRY.

Henry says, HELLO EVERYONE.
WELL BEE YOU AND YOUR WORKER
BEE FRIENDS MUST HAVE LOTS
OF WORK TO DO.

(Buzzing)

The bee says, WE SURE DO HENRY.
HMM.
THE OTHER WORKER BEES
SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE
TO HELP AGES AGO.
I WONDER WHERE THEY COULD BE.

(Buzzing)

The bees nest says, BEE, BEE HAVEN'T YOU HEARD
IT WAS SUCH A GLORIOUS DAY
TODAY THAT ALL THE OTHER
BEES DECIDED TO BUZZ OFF
TO THE BEACH.

The bee says, OH DEAR HENRY I'LL NEVER
BE ABLE TO MAKE ENOUGH HONEY
FOR EVERYONE'S DINNER ON MY OWN.
IF ONLY THERE WAS ANOTHER
WORKER BEE AROUND TO HELP.

Henry looks thoughtful.

He says, THAT GIVES ME A
GREAT IDEA, BEE.
I COULD BECOME A WORKER
BEE AND WE COULD MAKE
LOTS OF HONEY FOR
ALL THE OTHER BEES.

Henry wears a black and yellow suit, wings and a black headband with two antenna.

(Buzzing)

The bee says, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA HENRY.

Henry asks, HMM, BEE WHAT'S THIS
STICKING OUT HERE?

A stinger sticks out from behind Henry.

The bee says, THAT'S YOUR STINGER HENRY.
WORKER BEES CAN STING
YOU IF YOU GET TOO CLOSE.
THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD
ALWAYS BE EXTRA CAREFUL
WHEN YOU SEE BEES IN THE GARDEN.

Henry says, WILL DO BEE, WILL DO.
OKAY FIRST THINGS FIRST.
IF WE'RE GOING TO MAKE LOTS
OF HONEY WE NEED TO COLLECT
LOTS OF NECTAR.

(Buzzing)

The bee says, YOU'RE RIGHT HENRY AND THE
BEST PLACE TO FIND NECTAR
IS IN A FLOWER.

Henry says, HELLO FLOWER.

A white flower says, HELLO HENRY.

The bee says, RIGHT THEN HENRY,
FIRST WE SUCK UP
AS MUCH NECTAR AS WE
CAN…

The bee sticks herself in the flower.

(Slurping)

The flower giggles. The bee turns around and has pollen on her face.

The bee says, …AND CHEW IT ALL UP.

The bee chews the pollen.

She says, THEN WE STORE IT IN
OUR SECOND STOMACH
CALLED THE HONEY SACK…

The bee swallows the pollen.

She says, …SO WE
CAN TAKE IT BACK TO THE HIVE.

Henry says, MAYBE I'LL JUST
COLLECT IT IN A JAR.

Henry holds out a jar.

The bee says, OH.

The bee giggles.

She says, GOOD THINKING HENRY.
NOW WE BETTER GET
BUSY, BUSY, BUSY.
WE DON'T WANT TO KEEP THE QUEEN
AND ALL THE OTHER BEES WAITING.

Henry says, OKAY BEE, LET'S GO.

Henry and the bee fly to some yellow, red and orange tulips.

Henry says, HELLO TULIPS.

The tulips say, HELLO HENRY.

The bee dives into the tulips while Henry gathers pollen with his jar. Henry smiles. He and the bee continue on. Henry flies to the bee hive.

Henry says, HELLO BEE HIVE.

The bee hive says, HELLO HENRY.

Henry and the bee fly in the bee hive. Inside, Henry flies to a wall of honeycomb. Some of the honeycomb is filled with pollen.

Henry says, HELLO HONEYCOMB.

The honeycomb says, HELLO HENRY.

Henry pours pollen into an empty honeycomb. He empties his jar of pollen into other honeycombs.

(Trumpet music plays)

Henry says, WHEW THERE ALL DONE.

The bee says, GREAT JOB HENRY.

(Buzzing)

(Trumpet blowing)

A trumpet says, INTRODUCING HER MAJESTY
QUEEN BEE OF THE BEE HIVE.

A large bee wearing a crown joins Henry and the bee.

The Queen bee says, OH HELLO HENRY, HELLO BEE.
I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW EXCITED
AND GRATEFUL I AM TO FINALLY
TASTE SOME OF THIS LOVELY HONEY.

Henry pulls out a tea cup and saucer. He holds it under a tap in a honeycomb. The bee opens the tap and honey pours into the tea cup. Henry holds up the honey to the Queen bee.

The bee says, THERE YOU GO QUEEN BEE.

The Queen bee takes the tea cup from Henry. Right before she takes a sip, the bee hive shakes.

(Rumbling)

The Queen says, OH APOLOGIES I THINK
THAT WAS MY TUMMY RUMBLING.

The bee says, I DON'T THINK IT WAS YOUR
TUMMY RUMBLING QUEEN BEE.

(Rumbling)

The hive shakes again.

Henry says, I THINK IT WAS A ...

Henry and the bee fly outside of the bee hive. A bear has its paw on the hive. The bee hive looks worried.

At the same time, Henry and the bee shout, BEAR!

The bear says, YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY I'M GOING
TO EAT ALL THIS HONEY
FOR MY BREAKFAST.

The bear swats the bee hive.

The bee says, OH NO HENRY.
A BEAR IS TRYING TO EAT
ALL OF OUR LOVELY HONEY.
WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?

Henry says, DON'T WORRY BEE I
THINK I HAVE AN IDEA.

Henry flies over to the bear.

The bear says, OH HELLO HENRY, SO
LOVELY TO SEE YOU AGAIN.

(Horn music plays)

Henry says, HELLO BEAR, WOULD YOU MIND
NOT EATING ALL OF THE HONEY?
BEE AND I WORKED AWFULLY HARD
TO MAKE IT AND WE NEED TO FEED
ALL THE OTHER BEES FOR DINNER.

The bear says, BUT I'M REALLY HUNGRY HENRY.

Henry says WELL MY MOM ALWAYS SAYS
WHEN THERE'S ENOUGH FOOD TO GO
AROUND SHARE, SHARE,
AND SHARE SOME MORE.

The bee and the Queen bee carry a glob of honeycomb towards the bear.

The bee says, SO WHY NOT TAKE THIS
PIECE OF SCRUMMY HONEY COMB?

(Buzzing)

The Queen bee says, IT'S RATHER DELICIOUS.

The bear says, OH THANKS EVER SO MUCH
FOR YOUR KINDNESS.
IN FUTURE, I'LL JUST ASK NICELY.

Henry says, THAT'S A VERY GOOD IDEA BEAR.
NOW, WHO'S READY FOR DINNER?

Everyone shouts, HURRAY!

Henry sings, THE DAY HENRY MET A BEE.

Everyone dances.

Henry and the tulips sing, HE LAUGHED ALOUD
WITH EVERYONE.

Henry and the honeycomb sing, THE DAY HENRY MET A BEE.

The bee and the Queen bee carry the honeycomb.

The bee, the Queen bee and Henry sing, HE MADE LOTS OF FRIENDS
AND HAD SO MUCH FUN.

A woman calls, HENRY.

Henry says, THAT'S MY MUM CALLING ME, BEE.
I BEST BE OFF.
IT WAS REALLY NICE MEETING YOU.

The bee says, THE PLEASURE WAS ALL MINE
HENRY, AND THANKS FOR HELPING
ME MAKE ENOUGH HONEY
FOR ALL THE BEES,
AND A LITTLE EXTRA FOR BEAR.

Henry says, YOU'RE WELCOME.
HAVE A NICE DAY.

The bee says, BYE BYE HENRY.

Henry says, BYE BYE, I'M COMING MUM.

Henry leaves. The bee winks.
