(THEME MUSIC PLAYING)

The opening shows two little puppet mice, a gray one named Leon and a brown one named Nina, playing in front of the camera in Yetili's the puppet Yeti bookstore.

The name of the show reads "Yetili's fabulous book of fables."

Nina films Yetili as he reads a book and says, YETILY!
CAN YOU TELL ME THE FABLE ABOUT
THE TWO TREES?

Yetili says THE TWO TREES...
THE TWO TREES?
AH, YES!
THE ONE WITH THE TREE AND THE
PLANT, YOU MEAN?

Nina says YES, YOU KNOW, THE OAK
AND THE...

Yetili says OH, YES!
THE OAK, AND THE REED!
YES, YES.
I HAVE IT I'M SURE.
AESOP USED TO SAY THAT IT WAS
ONE OF THE BEST FABLES HE EVER
WROTE.
WAIT A SECOND, WHERE DID I PUT
IT?
(MUTTERING)
AH, HERE IT IS.

Nina says HOLD IT WHILE I ZOOM
IN.
YES, THAT'S THE ONE!
THERE ARE LOTS OF WORDS I DON'T
KNOW, BUT I LOVE LISTENING TO
IT.

Yetili says RIGHT.
SO...
THE OAK AND THE REED, BY AESOP.
ONE DAY, THE OAK SAID TO THE
REED, "YOU ARE DEFINITELY RIGHT
TO BLAME NATURE.
A GOLDCREST IS FOR YOU SUCH A
HEAVY BURDEN.
THE SLIGHTEST WIND THAT MAKES
RIPPLES ON THE SURFACE OF THE
WATER MAKES YOU BOW YOUR HEAD
DOWN.
HOWEVER, MY FOREHEAD, JUST LIKE
THE MIGHTY CAUCASUS, NOT ONLY
STOPS THE SUN'S RAYS, IT DEFIES
THE EFFORT OF THE TEMPEST!"

Yetili spread his arms and nocks over a book on a stand.

Nina says ARE YOU OKAY?
CAN WE CONTINUE?
YOU WERE AT THE EFFORT OF THE
TEMPEST.

Yetili says "NOT ONLY STOPS THE SUN'S RAYS,
IT DEFIES THE EFFORT OF THE
TEMPEST.
A STORM FOR YOU IS A PUFF OF
WIND FOR ME.
IF ONLY YOU'D GROWN UNDER THE
SHELTER OF MY FOLIAGE, WHICH
SHADES THE SURROUNDINGS, YOU
WOULD NOT LONGER SUFFER SO MUCH.
I WOULD PROTECT YOU FROM THE
STORM.
BUT ALAS, YOU OFTEN GROW ON THE
HUMID BANKS OF THE KINGDOM OF
THE WIND.
MOTHER NATURE WAS EXTREMELY
UNFAIR TO YOU.

Nina says THE OAK IS KINDA
SHOWING OFF.

Yetili says TO THIS THE REED ANSWERED,
"YOUR COMPASSION IS WELL
INTENTIONED, BUT PLEASE, DO NOT
WORRY.
FOR ME, WINDS ARE LESS
FORMIDABLE THAN FOR YOU.
I BEND AND DO NOT BREAK."

Yetili breaks a pencil in half.

(NINA GIGGLING)

Nina says YETILY, YOU ACTUALLY
SNAPPED OUR PENCIL.
(YETILY CHUCKLING)

Yetili says "UNTIL NOW YOU HAVE AGAINST
A FORMIDABLE FORCE, RESISTED
WITHOUT BENDING YOUR BACK.
BUT FINALLY, JUST AFTER THESE
WORDS, FROM THE DISTANT HORIZON
BLEW WITH FURY THE MOST
TERRIBLE CREATURE THAT HAD EVER
BEEN DELIVERED BY THE NORTH.
THE TREE HOLDS STRONG, THE REED
BOWS.
THE WIND BLOWS EVEN HARDER,
UNTIL IT UPROOTS THE GREAT OAK,
WHO'S FOLIAGE WAS SO CLOSE TO
THE SKY, AND HIS ROOTS REACHED
DEEP INTO THE EARTH.

Nina says UH, I DON'T KNOW.
I'M NOT SURE I UNDERSTOOD EVERY
WORD.
CAN YOU EXPLAIN, YETILY?

Yetili says WELL, I'LL BE A RAISINED ONE.
OF COURSE, NINA.
THE OAK IS TALLER AND STURDIER,
AND THINKS HE'S THE STRONGEST.
A LITTLE LIKE THE WOLF IN I'M
THE STRONGEST.
HE'S SO BUSY MAKING FUN OF THE
LITTLE REED THAT HE DOESN'T
NOTICE THE WIND RISING.
AND BOOM!
THE OAK FALLS, WHILE THE LITTLE
REED WHO IS SO THIN, BENDS AND
DOES NOT BREAK.

Nina says IT'S THE ONE WHO LOOKS
THE WEAKEST WHO'S THE STRONGEST
IN THE END.

Yetili says SO NINA, I FINISHED OUR FABLE
FOR TODAY.
OOPS.
(YETILY GIGGLING)

The theme song plays as the end credits roll.
