Eddie says, “-MY TEAM…”

The dark-haired boy says, “YAY, TEAM!”

Eddie says, “AND OUR

Luc says, “-YAY, ME!”

-[LAUGHTER]

Luc looks around the assembly hall from the front row.

Luc says, “HEY, EDDIE! WHAT ARE YOU GOING
TO DO NOW THAT HOCKEY'S OVER?”

Eddie says, “YOU KNOW WHAT?
UH, I DON'T KNOW.”

Luc says, “WELL, I DO!”

A Lacrosse sign-up sheet is pinned to a bulletin board in the school hallway. Eddie, Luc, and Lola look up at it.


Eddie says, “LACROSSE?”

Luc says, “-ARE YOU SIGNING UP?”

[EXCITED FLUTTERING]

Lola says, “WE'RE SIGNING UP.”

Luc says, “YOU SHOULD SIGN UP.”
Lola says, “EVER THINK OF SIGNING UP?”

Eddie says, “SO, YOU'RE
SAYING I SHOULD SIGN UP?”

Lola and Luc say, “YEAH! YES! YEAH, YEAH!”

Eddie says, “UMM, I DON'T KNOW.
NEVER PLAYED
LACROSSE BEFORE.
HOW DOES IT WORK?”

Lola says, “YOU GRAB
THE THING WITH THE THING,
AND THEN THROW
THE THING AT THE THING.”

Eddie says, “YOU HAVE NO IDEA,
DO YOU?”

Lola says, “-NOPE!”

Eddie says, “-YOU KNOW,
I HAVE HEARD
IT'S EXACTLY LIKE HOCKEY.
ONLY, WITHOUT THE ICE!
OR STICK.
OR PUCK.”

Lola says, “SEE?
YOU GOT THIS.”

Luc says, “AND,
IT'S GONNA BE SO FUN!”

Eddie says, “OKAY,
FUN WORKS FOR ME. I'M IN.”
'TEENY TYKES'
THAT'S YOU GUYS!”

Luc says, “THAT'S US.
TINY, BUT MIGHTY!”

Eddie says, “AND 'SENIOR BOYS'.
I GUESS THAT'S ME.
[GIGGLES]”

Luc says, “LADIES AND GENTLE-KIDS,
PRESENTING, THE NEXT
LACROSSE'S MOST VALUABLE PLAYER!
Eddie walks to the lacrosse field, wearing full hockey equipment.

[SKATES TAP]

Eddie says, “JUST LIKE HOCKEY, HUH?”

Eddie looks shocked. Other children play lacrosse on the field wearing shorts and helmets.

[KIDS SHOUTING]

A coach says, “HI, EDDIE.
NICE... GEAR-- WRONG SEASON.
UH,
WHAT'S WITH THE HOCKEY GETUP?”

Eddie says, “REPEATING HISTORY,
COACH.
HOCKEY STAR FIRST,
LACROSSE STAR NEXT.”

[LAUGHING]

The coach says, “OKAY, I LIKE YOUR SPUNK,
BUT, UH, LOSE
THE HOCKEY GEAR AND REPORT BACK.
PRACTICE STARTS IN TEN.”

Eddie walks away from the field on his hockey skates.

Eddie says, “-OKAY.”

[ENTHUSIASTIC MUSIC]

Eddie returns to the field carrying a lacrosse stick. He wears a helmet, shorts, a t-shirt, and shoes. Other players toss a lacrosse ball around.

[CHILDREN LAUGHING EXCITEDLY]

A lacrosse player says, “WOOHOO!”

A whistle is blown. Eddie turns to the coach.

The coach says, “OKAY, TEAM, LET'S WARM UP WITH
SOME CATCH AND THROW DRILLS.
HERE, EDDIE, CATCH!”

Eddie catches the red lacrosse ball with his hand and laughs.

Eddie says, “HUH? HAH!”
The coach says, “WITH YOUR STICK.”

Eddie says, “OH!”

The coach underarms the ball to Eddie. Eddie swings at it with the lacrosse stick.

[BALL WHOOSHES]

Eddie says, “-YEAH!”

The coach ducks as Eddie hits the ball over his head. The ball bounces off the wall.

[COACH GROANS]

[BALL THUDS]

The coach catches it.

[THROAT CLEARING]

The coach says, “RIGHT.
HOW ABOUT YOU JUST
PICK UP THE BALL AND TOSS IT
TO YOUR PARTNER--
WITH YOUR STICK.”

Eddie says, “OH.

The coach rolls Eddie the ball. He struggles to pick it up with the lacrosse stick.

Eddie says, “HA! HUH?”

Eddie runs around the field chasing the lacrosse ball.

[EDDIE STRAINS]

The coach sighs as he holds his head in his hand.

[PANTING]

Eddie runs past his teammates as he chases the ball. He runs into a fence. Eddie falls on his back as the ball rolls away from him.

[LOUD THUD]

The coach says. “OKAY, TEAM,
WHY DON'T YOU SHOW HIM?
JUST, UH,
TRY TO CATCH IT, EDDIE.”

[LOUD SQUEALS]

Four of Eddie’s teammates throw balls at him with their lacrosse sticks.

[BALLS WHOOSHING]

Eddie’s stick gets lodged in the mask of his helmet.

Eddie says, “WATCH IT!”

A ball lands in the net of Eddie’s stick.

[GRUNTING]

The coach looks confused.

The coach says, “UH, CREATIVE?”

Eddie says, “UGH,
THIS CAN'T BE THAT HARD.
I'M EDDIE,
I'M GOOD AT SPORTS!
THE BEST.”

Two more balls are tosses to Eddie. He misses both of them.

[BALL WHOOSHES]

[EDDIE GROANS]

Eddie says, “-AWW!”

Eddie throws his stick on the field.

[STICK SMASHES]

The coach says, “EDDIE!
WHAT'S GOING ON?”

Eddie says, “EVERYBODY'S
MESSING ME UP.
IT'S NOT MY FAULT
I CAN'T CATCH ANYTHING.
THEY CAN'T THROW.
PLUS,
THIS STICK IS FULL OF HOLES.”

The coach says, “OKAY GUYS, SHARKS
AND MINNOWS, BACK IN THREE.”

The teams run off the field.

-[CHEERING]
The coach says “-EDDIE,
HOW ABOUT YOU
AND I HAVE A LITTLE WORD? ALONE.
I LIKE YOUR HUSTLE.”

Eddie says, “YEP,
A LOT OF COACHES SAY THAT.”

The Coach says, “SO, I'D LIKE TO MOVE
YOU TO A GROUP MORE YOUR LEVEL.”

Eddie looks pleased.

Eddie says, “FINALLY,
SOMEBODY APPRECIATES MY SKILLS.
GREAT, PERFECT!
I CAN'T WAIT
TO MEET MY NEW TEAM.”

[TINY CHEERS]

Eddie looks shocked.

Eddie says, “THIS IS MY NEW TEAM?!”

Luc, Lola the rest of the “Teeny Tykes” practice on the field. A blonde-haired woman wears a whistle around her neck.

The Teeny Tykes coach says, “GUYS... THIS IS EDDIE.
HE'LL BE JOINING US
FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER.”

Lola says, “WHAA...
EDDIE IS A TEENY TYKE?”

Luc says, “WHAT HAPPENED, EDDIE?
YOU GET LOST?”

Eddie says, “YEAH, I THINK THERE'S
BEEN SOME SORT OF MISTAKE, AND--”

[KIDS WHOOP]

Eddie sighs.
Eddie says, “FINE,
I GUESS I'LL GO
THROUGH WITH THIS PRACTICE.
-ONCE.”

[WHISTLE BLARES]

The Teeny Tykes coach says “OKAY, EVERYBODY,
BALL TO THE WALL DRILL.
LET'S GO!”

[CHILDREN
SCREAM ENTHUSIASTICALLY]

EDDIE GRUNTS

The Teeny Tykes bounce red balls against the walls of the field. The balls bounce back over their heads. The ball knocks the lacrosse stick out of Eddie's hands.

[STICK WHOOSHES]

Luc and a friend mimic Eddie. The Teeny Tykes coach has a concerned expression.

-[SIGHS]

-[CHEERS]

Luc says, “YAY!
WE'RE JUST LIKE EDDIE.”

Luc and Lola throw balls at the wall. The ball bounces back and knocks their sticks out of their hands.

[THUDDING]

[STICKS SMACK]

[WHISTLE BLARES]

The Teeny Tykes coach says, “EDDIE...
WHAT ARE YOU, UH, DOING?”

Eddie says, “UH...
TRYING TO PRACTICE, OBVIOUSLY?”

The Teeny Tykes coach says, “UH, OKAY, LOOK,
MAYBE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW
WHAT THE OTHERS ARE DOING,
RATHER THAN THEM FOLLOWING YOU.”
Eddie says, “-BUT-”

The Teeny Tykes coach says, “-JUST TAKE A SEAT
FOR A FEW MINUTES AND
WATCH SOME FUNDAMENTALS.
YOU'LL GET
THE HANG OF IT!”

[EDDIE GROANS]

Eddie looks angry. He sits on the bleachers. The Teeny Tykes coach blows a whistle.

[DRAGGING FOOTSTEPS]

[PEPPY MUSIC]

Lola picks up a ball with the net of her stick.

[GASP]

Lola says,” I DID IT! I DID IT!!!! LUC, CATCH!”

Luc catches the ball in the net of his stick.

Luc says, “HUH?! EH!
NO WAY!
I CAUGHT IT!
I CAUGHT IT!
EDDIE, DID YOU SEE THAT?”

Eddie has left the field.

EDDIE?

The sun shines on the lacrosse field

Luc says, “UMM, DO YOU GUYS NOTICE
ANYBODY... MISSING TODAY?”

Lola says, “NO EDDIE!”

Luc turns to the Teeny Tykes coach

Luc says, “HEY, MISS OLGA,
DID EDDIE
FORGET ABOUT PRACTICE TODAY?”

Miss Olga sighs.

Miss Olga says, “GUYS...
I THINK EDDIE MAY HAVE
DECIDED LACROSSE ISN'T FOR HIM.
I'M NOT SURE HE'S COMING BACK.
SORRY.”

[DEJECTED GASPS]

[VOICE SHAKING]

Lola says, “HE CAN'T JUST DO THAT, CAN HE?
HE...
HE CAN'T JUST QUIT.”

Luc says, “NO!
HE CAN'T.”

Luc knocks on a door with his lacrosse stick. Lola, Miss Olga, and a red-haired girl stand with him in a hallway. The kids wear their lacrosse uniforms. Eddie’s dad answers the door

Eddie's dad says, “EDDIE, I THINK
YOUR LACROSSE TEAM IS HERE.”

Eddie approaches his front door.

Eddie says, “WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE?”
WHY AREN'T
YOU AT PRACTICE?

Luc says, “BECAUSE
THERE'S NO FUN WITHOUT YOU.
PLUS, YOU MAKE ME
FEEL LIKE I CAN DO IT!”

Lola says, “ME TOO!”

Luc says, “BUT, WATCHING YOU,
I KNOW ANYBODY WHO WANTS
TO BE GREAT HAS TO WORK HARD,
NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE.
EVEN YOU.
EVEN EDDIE.”

Eddie scratches his chin.

Eddie says, “YEAH.
EVEN ME.
WHO KNEW?”

Eddies teammates cheer, “WE WANT EDDIE!
WE WANT EDDIE!
WE WANT EDDIE!”

Eddie looks determined.

Eddie says, “LET'S DO THIS! YEAH!”

At the lacrosse field the teeny tykes practice.
[CHEERING]

A lacrosse ball bounces out of the net of Eddie’s stick. Luc passes a ball to Lola.

[YELLING AND GIGGLING]

[SCREECHES]

Lola says, “YAY!”

[LAUGHTER]

Luc passes Eddie a ball to Eddie. Eddie catches it.

Eddie says, “WHOA!”

Luc runs down the field.

Luc says, “EDDIE, I'M OPEN!”

Eddie passes a ball to Luc, who catches it.

Luc says, “AH!”

[GRUNTS]

Eddie says, “YAY!”

In the assembly hall, the kids cheer.

Students cheer, “WE WANT EDDIE!
WE WANT EDDIE!:

-[CHIMES]

The trophy sparkles on the stage.

The students cheer “WE WANT EDDIE!”

[KIDS HOOTING AND CHEERING]
Students applaud as Eddie walks on stage, and approaches the trophy. He looks at the inscription on the trophy's base.

Eddie says, “WHAT IS THIS?
'MOST IMPROVED PLAYER'?”

Luck says, “NOPE.

MOST INSPIRATIONAL PLAYER.
IT MEANS
WE LOOK UP TO YOU.”

Eddie looks honoured.

Eddie says, “WOW. MOST INSPIRATIONAL?
COOL.
BUT I KNOW
A COUPLE OF TEENY TYKES
WHO DESERVE IT
MORE THAN I DO.”

Luc and Lola each hold a side of the trophy. Eddie smiles.

Eddie says, “SAY, 'TINY BUT MIGHTY'.”

Luc, Lola, and Eddie cheer, “TINY BUT MIGHTY!”

Luc, Lola, and Eddie smile for a camera. Miss Olga takes their picture.
