A caption reads "TVO Kids and Riverbank pictures original."
[LAUGHTER]

(music plays)

Wearing a mask, Akin walks in his room.

Akin is in his early teens, with slightly long braided brown hair and wears jeans and a yellow sweater.

Akin's room is full of colourful furniture, has different colour walls, a black and white checkered floor, pink curtains, and a neon sign that reads "Fellings" behind a couch.

He says OH HEY, IT'S ME AKIN.
THE HOST OF HOW DO YOU FEEL?
I'M SURE YOU'RE FEELING A LOT
THESE DAYS.
WE ALL ARE, AND THAT'S OKAY.
I WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT MY
FRIENDS AND I FILMED THE SHOW
BEFORE THE PANDEMIC, SO EVEN
THOUGH WE'RE NOT WEARING MASKS,
OR PHYSICALLY DISTANCING, IT'S
STILL VERY IMPORTANT.
SO IF YOU'RE IN A SITUATION
WHERE YOU NEED TO
PHYSICALLY DISTANCE, BUT YOU
CAN'T, PUT ON YOUR MASK.
IT'LL HELP KEEP YOU AND YOUR
FRIENDS SAFE.
WHICH FEELS GREAT!
ENJOY THE SHOW!

In animation, the opening of the show rolls.

As the sun comes up between the mountains, colourful letters with different mood facial expressions form the name of the show. It reads "How do you feel?"

A song goes SOME DAYS YOU MIGHT BE HAPPY
AND SOME DAYS YOU MIGHT BE MAD
OTHER DAYS THEY START OFF
RIGHT
BUT THEN YOU WENT UPSET
BUT IT'S OKAY
CUZ WE WANNA KNOW
HOW DO YOU FEEL?
YEAH, HOW DO YOU FEEL?

(music plays)

At a sleepover with his stuffed animals, Akin reads a story and says THE HOUSE WAS EMPTY...OR SO
IT SEEMED,
BUT THE ATTIC DOOR WAS SLOWLY
CREAKING OPEN.
KETO FELT HIS SWEAT TURN COLD.
AHHHH!
[HAND CLAP]

He claps his hands to turn the lights on and says HOO, THAT ONE WAS A LITTLE TOO
SCARY, RIGHT GUYS?
WHEN I'M BY MYSELF I CAN QUIT
AN ACTIVITY
WHENEVER I FEEL LIKE IT,
BUT WHEN I'M WITH FRIENDS IT CAN
BE HARD TO SPEAK UP
AND SAY 'STOP', OR 'I DON'T WANT
TO FINISH THE MOVIE',
OR EVEN 'I NEED TO GO HOME'.
THAT'S OKAY TOO.
EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT
COMFORT ZONES.
SOMETHING I THINK IS FUN, LIKE
TELLING SCARY STORIES,
HAVING A SLEEPOVER, MIGHT NOT BE
FUN FOR SOMEONE ELSE.
THAT REMINDS ME OF MY
FRIEND DAISY!

An animation rolls as Akin tells the story.

He says DAISY IS AFRAID OF SLEEPOVERS.
NIGHT AWAY FROM HER PARENTS
UPSET AND HOMESICK.
DAISY DOESN'T WANT TO FEEL
THIS WAY.
FUN AT SLEEPOVERS.
SHE COULD ENJOY SLEEPOVERS TOO.

(music plays)

Now in his backyard, Akin says I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW YOU'RE
FEELING DAISY
AND I'M CALLING IN BACKUP.
THAT'S WHY I MADE THIS TIN
CAN TELEPHONE.
DUANE!
D-U-A-N-E, DO YOU READ ME?
OVER.

Duane walks in and says LOUD AND CLEAR AKIN.

Duane is in his thirties, with short straight black hair and wears beige trousers, a dark gray T-shirt and an unbuttoned plaid shirt.

Akin says DUANE!

Duane says HEY!

Akin says SO DUANE, DAISY TOLD ME THAT
SHE'S AFRAID
OF HAVING SLEEPOVERS
AND SHE'S EMBARRASSED
ABOUT BEING AFRAID.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Duane says WELL, DAISY IS NOT ALONE
AND I'M REALLY SORRY TO HEAR
THAT SHE FELT EMBARRASSED.
YOU KNOW MANY PEOPLE FIND THE
THOUGHT OF BEING AWAY
FROM THEIR PARENTS AND SLEEPING
SOMEWHERE UNFAMILIAR
TO BE CHALLENGING.

Akin says HOW CAN DAISY GET MORE
COMFORTABLE
WITH HAVING SLEEPOVERS?

Duane says WELL DAISY MAY WANT TO
SPEAK TO HER PARENTS
ABOUT TAKING LITTLE STEPS TO
BECOMING MORE COMFORTABLE
WITH THE IDEA OF SPENDING
THE NIGHT.

Akin says LIKE WHAT?

Duane says WELL MAYBE EVERY TIME HER
FRIENDS HAVE A SLEEPOVER
DAISY CAN GO AND SPEND TIME,
SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO SLEEPOVER,
BUT MAYBE THE MORE OFTEN SHE
DOES THAT
SHE'LL BECOME MORE COMFORTABLE
WITH THE IDEA OF SLEEPING OVER.
ALSO, WHEN SHE GOES TO VISIT
SHE CAN BRING A PILLOW,
A STUFFED ANIMAL, SOMETHING THAT
FEELS COMFORTABLE FOR HER,
AND MAYBE OVERTIME ONCE
SHE BECOMES
MORE FAMILIAR WITH THE PEOPLE,
THE ENVIRONMENT,
AND THE ROUTINES THAT ARE
INVOLVED WITH THE SLEEPOVER,
SHE MIGHT BE MORE WILLING
TO SPEND THE NIGHT.

Akin says WHAT ABOUT DAISY'S FRIENDS?
WHAT CAN THEY DO TO HELP?

Duane says WELL IT MIGHT BE TOUGH TO TALK
TO A GROUP OF PEOPLE
ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS, BUT
MAYBE THERE'S ONE FRIEND
THAT DAISY FEELS COMFORTABLE
SHARING WITH AND MAYBE
SHE CAN ASK THAT PERSON 'WHAT
WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE LIKE?'
'HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET
MORE COMFORTABLE
WITH THE IDEA OF
SLEEPOVERS?'

Akin says IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE WE COULD
DO TO HELP DAISY?

Duane says I HOPE DAISY CAN CONTINUE TO BE
PATIENT WITH HERSELF.
YOU KNOW HER FRIENDS MIGHT BE
COMFORTABLE WITH THE IDEA
OF A SLEEPOVER, BUT WE DON'T ALL
GROW AND LEARN AT THE SAME RATE.
MY HOPE IS THAT IN TIME IF
SLEEPING OVER IS SOMETHING
THAT SHE WANTS TO DO, AND IS
OKAY WITH HER PARENTS,
SHE'LL FIND A WAY TO
SPEND THE NIGHT.
(ECHO)

Akin speaks on his tin can phone and says THANKS DUANE.
(ECHO)

Duane says NO PROBLEM AKIN.

(music plays)
[FANFARE]

(music plays)

Akin walks in the basement as his friends play Jenga.

He says HEY GUYS!

The blocks fall.

[FALLING BLOCKS]

Akin says OOO, MY BAD.
YOU GUYS HAVE HAD A SLEEPOVER
BEFORE, RIGHT?

Everyone says YEAH.

Akin says SO WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT
DAISY'S STORY THEN?

Nicky is around 9, with long straight brown hair in a half do and wears jeans and a light gray sweater.

She says IT WAS REALLY HUMANY BECAUSE
UM, LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE SCARED
ON THEIR FIRST DAY,
BUT I DON'T JUDGE HER BY
THAT BECAUSE
SHE JUST NEEDS TO GET A LITTLE
BIT USED TO IT.

Akin says DID DAISY'S STORY REMIND YOU OF
SOMETHING
THAT YOU'VE EXPERIENCED?

Delila is around 11, with long straight red hair with bangs and wears jeans and a yellow T-shirt.

She says IT REMINDED ME OF MY SEVENTH
BIRTHDAY AND MY FRIEND
WANTED TO SLEEPOVER
AND IT WAS HER FIRST SLEEPOVER.
SHE WAS SCARED AND WE TRIED TO
MAKE HER FEEL COMFORTABLE
AND WE TALKED TO HER ABOUT IT.
WE ENDED UP DRIVING HER HOME
CAUSE WE WANTED HER
TO FEEL COMFORTABLE THE NEXT
TIME SHE CAME AND SLEEPOVER.

Akin says HOW WOULD YOU COMFORT A FRIEND
IF THEY WANTED TO GO HOME
FROM YOUR HOUSE?

Dontae is around 11, with short brown hair and wears jeans and a hooded taupe sweatshirt.

He says I WOULD ASK THEM LIKE WHAT'S
BOTHERING THEM.
SAY IF LIKE A DOLL IS
BOTHERING THEM
OR STUFFY IN MY ROOM IS LIKE
BOTHERING THEM
I'LL MOVE THAT AWAY, OR IF THEY
LIKE WANNA GO I HOME
I WILL LIKE GIVE THEM A CUP OF
WATER TO LIKE HELP THEM SLEEP.
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO
TELL DAISY

Akin says IF SHE WERE RIGHT HERE IN
THE ROOM?

Delila says IF YOU DO LIKE STAY OVER AND
THEN LIKE IN THE MORNING
YOU'LL BE REALLY PROUD OF
YOURSELF
FOR GETTING OVER
YOUR FEAR.

Nicky says I WOULD TELL HER 'DON'T BE
AFRAID, TRY TO STAY OVER'
AND IF SHE DOESN'T WANT TO STAY
OVER THAT'S FINE
BECAUSE YOU CAN DO IT
ANOTHER DAY.

Delila says YEAH.

Akin says WHAT ABOUT YOU DONTAE?

Dontae says I'LL TELL DAISY NOT TO WORRY
BECAUSE YOU CAN ALWAYS
LIKE TAKE SOMETHING WITH YOU
THERE TO COMFORT YOU
AND DON'T WORRY YOU WON'T GET
EMBARRASSED FOR LIKE
YOUR ACTIONS AND JUST TO
STAY STRONG.

Akin says DO YOU GUYS WANNA KNOW WHAT MY
FAVOURITE PART
OF THE SLEEPOVER IS?

They all grab a pillow and say PILLOW FIGHT!

(music plays)

They start a pillow fight.

Later, Akin tidies up his room and says NO, NO, NO! DON'T LOOK!
DON'T LOOK!
I DON'T USUALLY LET ANYONE SEE
THE FEELINGS ZONE
WHEN IT'S THIS MESSY
BUT WE'RE FRIENDS, YOU GUYS
DON'T JUDGE, RIGHT?
I'LL LET YOU IN ON
ANOTHER SECRET.
I'M ABOUT TO GIVE FUTURE ME A
LITTLE PRESENT.
THAT'S RIGHT, I'M GONNA CLEAN UP
THIS ENTIRE MESS.
SEE, WHEN MY FEELINGS ZONE IS
NICE AND TIDY
MY BRAIN FEELS TIDY TOO,
BUT WHEN THERE'S CLUTTER
EVERYWHERE
IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO JUST
FOCUS ON ONE THING.
SO, HERE WE GO.

(music plays)

He puts on rubber gloves and cleans up the entire room.

He then sits on a chair and says AHH, THAT IS GOOD.
THANKS AKIN FROM TEN
MINUTES AGO.

(music plays)

Later in the basement, Akin's friends pose as Akin draws a portrait of them.

Akin says ALMOST FINISHED.
TAKE FIVE GUYS, YOU GUYS
ARE GREAT.
AND SO ARE YOU!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR
FEELINGS WITH ME AND THE GANG.
UNTIL NEXT TIME, KEEP THE
FEELS REAL.
BACK IN POSITION EVERYBODY.
THERE!
MASTERPIECE.

Music plays as the end credits roll.
