An animation shows the solar system.

A theme song plays I LIVE ON EARTH
I LOOK TO THE SKY
SO MUCH WONDER
FILLS MY MIND
WE ARE SPACE KIDS
SPACE KIDS.

A child says WHAT IS THE UNIVERSE?

(music plays)

A boy says PLANETS, STARS, SPACE,
GALAXIES... EVEN YOU AND ME.
THE UNIVERSE IS EVERYTHING
WE CAN TOUCH, SENSE, FEEL,
MEASURE AND DETECT.
PLANET EARTH MAY SEEM HUGE,
BUT IT'S ACTUALLY A VERY
TINY PART OF THE UNIVERSE.
THE SUN IS A MILLION TIMES
BIGGER THAN THE EARTH.

An animation recreates the concepts mentioned.

The boy continues AND THE SUN IS JUST ONE OF
BILLIONS OF STARS IN OUR GALAXY
AND SCIENTISTS ESTIMATE
THERE ARE BILLIONS
OF GALAXIES IN THE UNIVERSE,
EACH WITH BILLIONS OF STARS.

A girl says THAT'S GINORMOUS!

The boy says IT WOULD TAKE OUR FASTEST JET
MORE THAN A MILLION YEARS
TO REACH THE NEAREST STAR
TO THE SUN.

The girl says SO WHERE DID THE UNIVERSE
COME FROM?

The boy says ASTRONOMERS BELIEVE
THE UNIVERSE FORMED
NEARLY 14 BILLION YEARS AGO
IN A MASSIVE EXPLOSION
CALLED THE BIG BANG.
THIS EXPLOSION CREATED
EVERYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE
IN A TINY FRACTION OF A SECOND.
TODAY, THE UNIVERSE
IS STILL EXPANDING
FROM THE ORIGINAL BIG BANG.
THIS MEANS THAT THE DISTANCES
IS GETTING LARGER AND LARGER.

A black and white picture of a young man appears, followed by another one of a man looking through a telescope.

The boy continues AN ASTRONOMER EDWIN HUBBLE
WAS THE FIRST TO DISCOVER
EVIDENCE OF THIS.
HE OBSERVED THAT ALL GALAXIES
APPEAR TO BE MOVING AWAY
FROM ONE ANOTHER.
HIS DISCOVERY WAS SO IMPORTANT
THAT SCIENTISTS NAMED
A TELESCOPE AFTER HIM -
THE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE.

The end credits roll.

The song plays I'M ON MY WAY,
ON MY WAY
TO OUTER SPACE.
WE ARE SPACE KIDS.
