The hands tilt the bottle and a finger points out the blue lid. Text reads, …and make a small hole in the lid. The bottle is set aside and a bottle that has already been cut in half with a small hole in its lid is brought out. Text reads, like this. The hands take out the top half of the cut bottle and display the hole in the lid.

Hands take some twine and cut it from its ball with the scissors. They remove the ball of twine and take the cut twine and thread it through the small hole in the lid of the bottle. Text reads, thread the twine through the hole…Another hand reaches in the half bottle and pulls the twine through. Text reads, …and tie a knot. The hands tie a knot on the piece of twine threaded through the hole in the lid. A hand pulls the other end of the twine so that the knot reaches the bottom of the lid.

The bottom half of the bottle is held while the water is poured in about two thirds of the way. Text reads, put the twine into the water. The top half of the bottle with the twine is taken and placed lid down into the second half of the bottle so that the twine is in the water. The hands display the set up and set it aside. The pot of soil is brought out and handfuls of soil are dropped into the upside down top half of the plastic bottle. Text reads, fill the top with soil.

The top half of the bottle is nearly full of soil. The small plant is held sideways and its plastic pot is gently removed and set aside. Text reads, make a crater for your plant. One hand holds the self-watering plant pot while the other creates a crater in the soil. The hands take the small plant and place it in the crater in the soil. They gently press it into the soil and remove the plastic pot. The hands display the self-watering plant. The twine in the water half of the plastic bottle is displayed. Text reads, water is absorbed up the twine… A finger points to the twine in the bottom half of the bottle with the water. The finger points up the bottle to the plant in the top half of the bottle in the soil. Text reads, …and into the soil. The hands give thumbs up. The self-watering plant is displayed.
