[Upbeat music plays]

An animation shows traffic travelling through a city. People are gathered outside houses and a pizza parlour. A pink school bus scatters stars as it passes by a grassy hill.

Text reads, “TVO kids and ABC presents”.

Children and their pets run to the hill and climb onto the title which they read, BIG WORDS, SMALL STORIES.

Davey reads the episode title, Cockatiel Choir.

A yellow cockatiel lands on the roof of a small wooden house. Inside, Abigail, Davey’s dog, sleeps in her dog bed.

Abigail says, MMM... PICKLED FISH MEATBALLS...
DON'T MIND IF I DO...

Davey sits at a table, building a house of cards. He completes a pyramid shape. Judy sits on the floor and finger paints a picture of a yellow and blue cat. Davey and Judy’s mom cuts a bonsai tree in half. Judy’s finger slips and a red line of paint covers her picture. Davey’s house of cards collapses.

(Loud squawking sounds)

Abigail says, WHAT'S GOING ON?
WHAT IN THE MACARONI PONY
IS ALL THAT NOISE?!

Everyone runs outside and looks around. Judy points up at a line of eight cockatiels on the roof of their house

(Squawking becomes louder)

IT'S A-A... CACOPHONY!

Sprinkle Fairy arrives. She says, CACOPHONY MEANS A VERY LOUD
AND UNPLEASANT NOISE. YOU KNOW,
LIKE THAT SCREECHING NOISE
COMING FROM THOSE
SQUAWKING COCKATIELS!
TOODLES!

Davey says, I NEVER THOUGHT BIRDS THAT SMALL
COULD CREATE SUCH A HUGE CACOPHONY!

Davey plugs his ears.

Davey continues, ABIGAIL, YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM
TO BE QUIET! THEY'RE RUINING
OUR PEACEFUL SUNDAY AFTERNOON!

Judy says, YEAH!

(Small sigh)

Abigail says, DO I HAVE TO?
WELL, YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE HERE
WHO CAN SPEAK COCKATIEL.

Judy says, UH-HUH!

(Squawking continues)

Abigail sits in front of the cockatiels and says, UM, HELLO, COCKATIELS?
HELLO? EXCUSE ME? EXCUSE ME!

(Squawking stops)

She continues, UH, IT'S SUNDAY...
AND WE'RE ALL REALLY TRYING
TO RELAX. WOULD YOU MIND BEING
A BIT MORE... QUIET?

One cockatiel slides down the side of the roof.

(Speaking in squeaks)

Abigail looks at Davey and says, SO, BASICALLY, THEY'RE THE
COLOSSUS COCKATIEL CHOIR.

(Squeaking)

She continues, THEY REHEARSE ALL DAY,
EVERY DAY, EVERY DAY...

(Squeaking)

..RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE.
THEY'RE NOT LEAVING?

(Grunts)

Davey and Abigail fall backwards.

Abigail says, I GUESS NOT.

Sprinkle Fairy’s helpers, the sprinklers, small candy-like creatures, parachute towards the roof. Suddenly the cockatiels fly into the air and the sprinklers spiral backwards. Their tiny earmuffs fly off their heads.

(Loud squawks)

(Squawking continues)

(Tense music)

Davey is inside his house, he looks startled. Judy knocks a can of red paint onto her picture and their mom clips a chunk off the bonsai tree. The sprinklers cover their ears.

(Shouting)

Davey shouts, THAT'S IT!
WE'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING
ABOUT THIS CACOPHONY!

Davey, Judy, and their mom, walk outside banging pots and cooking utensils together.

Davey’s mom says, SHOO!

Judy says, GO AWAY BIRDIES!

Davey says, STOP THIS CACOPHONY!

The cockatiels are lined up on the roof.

Abigail says, OH NO... THEY THINK YOU'RE
PLAYING THE DRUMS FOR THEM.

Davey’s mom paints whiskers onto Judy’s face, then says, OKAY, JUDY, REMEMBER—

Davey says, YOU'RE A SCARY CAT!
SCARE THE BIRDS AWAY!

Judy replies, OKAY, DAVEY.

Davey and Judy’s mom holds Judy aloft, facing the birds.

Judy says, MEOW!

(Squawking turns to laughter)

Judy says, HEY!

Abigail says, OKAY, LET'S MAKE A DEAL.
CAN YOU PLEASE COME BACK
AND REHEARSE ON MONDAY
WHEN WE'RE NOT AT HOME?

Abigail holds up a calendar and one of the cockatiels flies towards her, then points at an open page.

(Squeaking)

Abigail says, OR TUESDAY?
PRETTY PLEASE
WITH A-A CHERRY ON TOP?

(Squeaking)

Abigail says, OR ANY OTHER DAY EXCEPT SUNDAY?!

(Squeaking)

(Abigail sighs)

Abigail says, IT'S NO USE, DAVEY.
THEY REHEARSE ALL DAY,
EVERY DAY –
RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE!

Davey says, RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE, HUH?
I THINK I MIGHT KNOW
HOW WE CAN STOP THIS CACOPHONY
ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Davey sprinkles snow over the lawn. Davey, Judy, and their mom are dressed in winter coats, hats and earmuffs.

Davey says, OPERATION SNOW, ALL TEAMS GO.

Judy throws snowflakes into the air and shouts, YAY!

(Shivering)

Davey hugs himself and says, I-I C-CAN'T B-BELIEVE
IT'S S-SNOWING ALREADY!

(Squawking turns to low squeaks)

The sprinklers parachute from the roof.

Abigail says, YOU WERE RIGHT - THEY REHEARSE
IN RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE BUT NEVER IN SNOW.
THE COLD WOULD DAMAGE
THEIR DELICATE SINGING VOICES.
BUT HEY, I HEAR IT'S SUNSHINE
ALL THE TIME ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF TOWN!

The cockatiels fly away.

(Excited squeaks)

(All cheering)

Davey shouts, YES! WE DID IT!

(Sigh of relief)

He continues, NO MORE CACOPHONY!

Abigail says, UH... YOU MIGHT WANT TO KEEP
THOSE WINTER COATS AROUND.
THE COCKATIELS LOVED
SINGING ON OUR ROOF SO MUCH,
THEY PROMISED TO BE BACK HERE AS
SOON AS THE SNOW STOPS FALLING!

(Chuckles)

Davey’s mom says, GUESS IT'S WINTER
ALL YEAR ROUND FROM NOW ON!

Davey says, I GUESS I CAN LIVE WITH THAT!

Davey lies on the ground and makes snow angels.
(All chuckling)
