Cars travel on the streets of a large colourful city. A family leaves a red brick condo. A family enters a pizza shop. Another family stands outside a large yellow house. A fourth family meets in front of a yellow trailer just outside the city. The kids from the four families climb a hill in a park.

Oleander, Sally, Massimo, and Ben walk through a park on a sunny day. A blonde-haired woman stands on a stage.

She says,
PLACES, PEOPLE!
ON YOUR BOTTOMS, FACING ME.
MY NEW PLAY'S ABOUT TO START!
GROWN-UPS UP IN THE BACK,
KIDS UP FRONT…APPLAUSE LOUD!

(Applause)

Kids run up to the stage.

Oleander says,
A PLAY! WANNA WATCH IT, MASSIMO?

(Excited baby noises)

Oleander adds,
HE LOVES THE THEATRE, LIKE ME!
CAN WE SIT UP FRONT, PAPA?
YOU CAN SEE US THE WHOLE TIME.

Ben replies,
YOU ARE VERY RESPONSIBLE.
I'M SURE YOU'LL TAKE
GOOD CARE OF HIM.
YAY!

Oleander carries Massimo as she and Sally rush to the stage.

A dark-haired man with glasses and a red jacket carries a blue book onto the stage.

He says,
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
BOYS AND GIRLS.
INTRODUCING 'THE THREE LITTLE
PIGS AND THE BIG BAD WOLF'.

Oleander looks worried.

She asks,
BIG? BAD? WOLF?!

The man on the stage reads,
ONCE UPON A TIME,
THERE WAS A LITTLE PIG.

The woman wears a pig costume as she leaps onto the stage.

She says,
GREETINGS!
SALUTATIONS!
I'M A LITTLE PIGGY.
OINK! OINK!

The man continues,
LITTLE DID THE PIG KNOW, A BIG
BAD WOLF WAS LURKING NEARBY.

The woman returns to the stage in a wolf costume. She waves her arms.

(Howls)

(Gasps)

Oleander states,
THIS IS TOO SCARY FOR BABIES!
THERE SHOULD BE A WARNING
ABOUT A WOLF IN THE SHOW.

Sally replies,
IT'S IN THE TITLE - THREE LITTLE
PIGS AND THE BIG, BAD WOLF!

Oleander says,
I NEED TO DISTRACT HIM
BEFORE HE GETS SCARED.
PSST! MASSIMO!

Oleander makes silly faces. Massimo chuckles. He turns back to the stage and struggles to get out of Oleander’s hands.

Sally states,
STOP IT, OLEANDER. YOU'RE...
YOU'RE MOLLYCODDLING HIM!

The Sprinkle Fairy drives through the park in a pink and gold double-decker bus.

Four creatures shout, “Mollycoddle!”

The Sprinkle Fairy floats down to Oleander

The Sprinkle Fairy says,
MOLLYCODDLE MEANS TO TRY
TO AND PROTECT SOMEONE
MORE THAN THEY NEED TO BE.
YOU KNOW, LIKE HOW OLEANDER
IS TRYING TO STOP HIM
WATCHING A SCARY PLAY
THAT'S NOT THAT SCARY.

Oleander replies,
IT IS SCARY! LOOK AT THOSE FANGS!
NOT YOU, MASSIMO, DON'T LOOK!

Oleander covers Massimo's eyes.

The Sprinkle Fairy adds,
SEEMS LIKE MOLLYCODDLING TO ME!
TOODLES!

She flies away from Oleander, Massimo, and Sally.

Oleander states,
I WOULD NEVER
MOLLYCODDLE ANYONE!

The woman wearing the wolf costume says,
LITTLE PIG, LET ME COME IN
OR I'LL EAT YOU UP FOR SUPPER!

(Gasp)

Oleander puts headphones on Massimo.

She says,
DON'T LISTEN, MASSIMO!

Sally responds,
STOP IT, OLEANDER! YOU'RE
REALLY MOLLYCODDLING HIM NOW!

Massimo crawls away from Oleander.

(Gasp)

Oleander says, MASSIMO!

Massimo climbs up the side of the stage.

Oleander adds, WAY TOO CLOSE!

(Snarling)

The man on stage reads,
THE BIG BAD WOLF CREPT UP TO
THE LITTLE PIG'S DOOR AND SAID...

The woman continues,
I'LL HUFF AND I'LL PUFF
AND I'LL--

Oleander takes the book from the man. She says.
JUMP ROPE!
EXERCISING HELPS ME STAY FIT!

The woman jumps rope in the wolf costume.

She shouts,
NOW I'M FIT,
I'LL CLIMB DOWN YOUR CHIMNEY,
OPEN MY JAWS AND--

Oleander interrupts,
BRUSH MY TOOTHY PEGS!
NOTHING BEATS NICE, CLEAN TEETH!

The woman looks around. She grabs a giant toothbrush prop from a basket of backstage. Two creatures jump into the basket.

The woman brushes her wolf fangs on stage. The audience looks confused.

The woman replies,
NOW MY TEETH ARE NICE AND CLEAN,
I'M GOING TO COOK YOU UP--

Oleander says,
A DELICIOUS BUT HEALTHY BOWL
OF CELERY SOUP.

The woman eats a spoonful of soup.

She responds,
MMM! DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY!

(Gasp)

Oleander looks out from the stage. The kids in the audience are asleep.

Sally says,
JOB, OLEANDER.
NOW YOU'VE MOLLYCODDLED
THE ENTIRE AUDIENCE!

Text reads, “Mollycoddle”.

(Gasp)

The woman responds,
AUDIENCE BORED?
MUST SAVE THE SHOW!

(Snarling and howling)

The kids wake up.

(Gasp)

Oleander says,
MASSIMO! STOP WATCHING!

(Soft baby noise)

The man takes the book back from Oleander.

He reads,
THE LITTLE PIG FROZE IN
FRIGHT...

The man whispers to Oleander,
THAT'S YOU!

He continues,
..AS THE BIG BAD WOLF
CREPT TOWARDS HER.

The woman in the wolf costume shouts,
DINNER TIME!

(Evil laugh)

(Gasps)

The woman whispers to Oleander,
RUN!

(Giddy squeal)

(Scary snarling)

Oleander runs off stage. The woman chases her. They run past the basket. The two creatures hop out. One wears a tiny green witch mask. They both fall off the edge of the basket and onto the floor.

(Laughing)

Oleander and the woman run back onto the stage.

Oleander screams, NO!

(Baby laughter)

Massimo rings a bell as he sits on the stage. The woman stops in front of him.

She says,
MORE AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION?
I LOVE IT!

(Baby laughter)

The woman walks slowly away from Massimo. He crawls after her.

The woman adds,
ALAS! I SURRENDER!
SPARE ME AND I PROMISE
NEVER TO EAT PIGS AGAIN!

The woman tickles Massimo’s belly. Oleander approaches them.

(Cheering)

Roses are thrown onto the stage.

Oleander says,
GUESS I DIDN'T NEED TO
MOLLYCODDLE HIM AT ALL.
HE'S AS BRAVE AS A LION.

Oleander carries Massimo to Ben. Ben stands up then falls back down on a bench.

Ben asks,
OOH! HOW WAS THE PLAY? I FELL
ASLEEP AND GOT PINS AND NEEDLES!

Oleander says, I'LL HELP YOU, PAPA!

Sally responds,
YOU'RE MOLLYCODDLING HIM!

Text reads, “Mollycoddle”

Ben adds,
MOLLYCODDLE ME ALL YOU LIKE!

(Giggles)
