[Happy music plays]

Text reads, “TVOkids and ABC presents Big Words. Small Stories. An animated bus drives past a grassy hill.

Children say, BIG WORDS. SMALL STORIES.

Davey wears his black hair short and black-rimmed glasses. He wears a yellow shirt with thin black stripes and blue pants. Davy stands in front of Abigail, his brown dog, with his arms held out. Green goo covers Abigail’s head and mud covers her paws and bottom. Text reads, “Dog-Gone! Written by Brendan Luno.”

A voice says, DOG-GONE!

[Happy music plays]

Davey and his little sister, Judy, sniff and nod. They wear clothespins over their noses.

[Sniffing]

A woman with curly grey hair says, MMM!
MY PICKLED GARLIC IS COMING
ALONG NICELY, DON'T YOU THINK?

Judy and Davy say, MMM-HMMM.

Davy takes off his clothespin.

[Sniffing]

Davey says, HMM...I CAN SMELL
SOMETHING ELSE. IT’S NOT GARLIC.

Davey takes a device out of his pocket.

[Musical flourish]

Davey says, MY SUPER SNIFFO-METER
WILL FIND IT!

(Sniffo-Meter beeps softly)

Davey walks to Abigail and holds the Sniffo-Meter beside Abigail as she sleeps on a blue sofa. She wakes up and notices the device.

[Terrified gasp]

Abigail says, HEY, IT'S RUDE
TO POINT!

[Beeping]

Davey says, SORRY, ABIGAIL, BUT...

[Davey sniffs]

Judy shouts, STINKY, STINKY!

Judy runs away from Abigail.

Abigail says, I'M A DOG! IT’S BEEN
A HOT SUMMER. BESIDES...

[Scratching, sniffing]

Abigail says, IT’S NOT THAT BAD.

[Beeping, crackling]

Davey’s Sniffo-Meter sparks. Smoke rises from the top of the device.

[Abigail giggles]

Abigail runs to a door.

She says, LET’S PLAY OUTSIDE.

Davey holds his hands over his eyes as he counts.

Davey says, …NINE, TEN.
COMING. READY OR NOT.

[Sniffing]

Davey finds Abigail hiding behind a chair.

He says, FOUND YOU!
I COULD SMELL YOU.
IT’S TIME YOU HAD A BATH.

[Upbeat music plays]

Abigail runs and slides through a muddy puddle.

Abigail says, YOU MEAN, IT’S
TIME I TOOK OFF.

Abigail runs inside a mobile home and slides on a floor.

Davey says, YOU DEFINITELY
NEED THAT BATH NOW.

[Clatter]

The grey-haired woman says, I'LL
MAKE IT FULL OF BUBBLES.

Abigail says, BUT I DON'T
LIKE GETTING WET!

[Pants]

Davey says, OKAY. LET'S PLAY...
WASH THE MUDDY PUP.

Abigail shouts, NO, NO!
BATHS ARE REALLY BAD!
THEY MAKE MY FUR GO LIMP!

Davey says, ABIGAIL!
WHY ARE YOU BEING
SO RELUCTANT!

[Musical flourish]

Three creatures, each with a single antenna, shout, RELUCTANT.

[Whooshing, upbeat music plays]

The Sprinkle Fairy, a grey haired woman with wings, drives purple and yellow bus behind them. Text reads, “Reluctant.”

The Sprinkle Fairy says, RELUCTANT
MEANS NOT WANTING TO DO
SOMETHING. YOU KNOW, LIKE
ABIGAIL NOT WANTING A BATH.

Davey asks, COULD YOU
HELP US BATHE HER?

The Sprinkle Fairy says, SORRY,
BUT THE FUR ALWAYS GETS
TANGLED IT MAKES WANDSY
GO ALL DOGGY. TOODLES!

[Whimper]

The grey-haired woman says, THE
BATH IS READY. ABIGAIL?!

Davey says, COME ON, ABIGAIL!
DON’T BE SO RELUCTANT. WHAT
COULD BE BETTER THAN A NICE
HOT BATH.

[Dramatic music plays]

Judy asks, WHERE IS SHE?

Davey looks over the back of the sofa.

He says, IT'S TOO DARK
TO SEE BACK THERE.

He pulls a chain on a lamp. Abigail’s muddy body sits beneath the lampshade.

[Click]

Davey says, HM... IT'S NOT WORKING.

[Sniffs]

Davey picks up the lampshade.

Abigail says, YOU'RE GOOD
AT THIS GAME.

Davey says, IT'S NOT A GAME!

Judy says, PRETTY DOGGY PAINTING.

Abigail holds a frame in front of her face.

Davey looks unimpressed.

He says, REALLY?

[Judy sniffs]

She says, STINKY!

Davey grabs Abigail.

Davey asks, WHY ARE YOU
SO RELUCTANT?

Text reads, “Reluctant.”

[Chimes]

Abigail explains, MY SMELL IS
A PART OF WHO I AM. LIKE YOU,
AND YOUR GLASSES.

Davey says, MY GLASSES
DON'T SMELL OF MUD AND
PICKLED GARLIC.

[Upbeat music plays, splash]

Davey drops Abigail in a bubble bath in a bathtub.

Abigail says, UGH! THE BUBBLES
ARE GETTING UP MY NO--

[Sneeze, splash]

Davey says, IT'LL BE OVER BEFORE
YOU KNOW IT.

Judy points to a staircase.

Judy says, SHE WENT THAT WAY!

[Davey sighs]

Davey follows watery paw prints up the stairs. The prints stop at the top of the stairs.

Davey says, ABIGAIL COULDN'T
HAVE JUST DISAPPEARED.

[Loud sneeze, dramatic music plays]

A drawer shoots out of a wall and lands on the sofa. Abigail sits in the drawer.

Abigail grumbles, SILLY, SNEEZY BUBBLES!

Davey says, ABIGAIL, ENOUGH HIDING.

Davey picks up Abigail. He drops her as he slips on bubbles.

He exclaims, WHOAAA!

[Whoosh, squeaking]

Davey slips and falls on mud.

He says, OOMPH.
HOW CAN ONE RELUCTANT PUP
MAKE ME SO TIRED?

Text reads, “Reluctant.”

[Chimes]

Davey says, IF YOU COME OUT,
WE CAN PLAY WITH THAT
COOL SCARECROW OUT FRONT.

Davey, Judy and the grey-haired woman look at Abigail as she poses as a scarecrow at the top of a stick.

Davey says, OH, WHERE DID
THIS COME FROM?

[Struggling]

Abigail says, THE STRAW IS SO
ITCHY. MAKE IT STOP!

[Slide whistle]

Davey says, I KNOW SOMETHING
THAT WILL HELP.

Abigail says, ANYTHING!

Abigail sits in the bubble bath.

[Sigh of relief]

She says, THAT'S BETTER!

[Davey sniffs, upbeat music plays]

Davey says, YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN!
COME ON!

Abigail asks, WHAT’S THE RUSH?

[Splashing]

Davey says, NOW YOU'RE
RELUCTANT TO GET OUT?
OH, ABIGAIL!

[Splashing]

Abigail sprays water on Davey.

[Laughing]

End credits roll.
