In split screens, children prepare food in time to the music. The children hit pots and pans with kitchen utensils, and mix and shake ingredients in containers. Rows of different dishes appear.

Title: My World Kitchen

A narrator says,
WHOSE KITCHEN ARE
WE GOING TO TODAY?

A girl with light brown hair in braids wearing a pink T-shirt and jeans opens a white door with windows from inside a house.

The girl with hair in braids says,
HI, MY NAME'S MOLLY.
COME ON IN.

The narrator says, HI, MOLLY.

Molly walks from the door through a hallway to the back of the house.

A man with close cropped dark hair wearing a purple button-down shirt and jeans walks from the back of the house.

Molly says, THIS IS MY DAD.

The narrator says, HI, DAD.

Molly’s Dad waves and says, HI, EVERYONE.

Molly walks behind a kitchen counter and says,
TODAY I'M MAKING JERK SEA
BASS BECAUSE MY DAD'S SAINT
LUCIAN AND THEY MAKE JERK THERE,
AND I LOVE SEA BASS.

Molly puts a cutting board, utensils, and containers of ingredients on the kitchen counter.

The narrator says, AND MOLLY HAS HER OWN VERY
SPECIAL WAY OF COOKING IT.
MOLLY'S DAD IS SAINT LUCIAN AND
THE FAMILY ORIGINALLY COME FROM
SAINT LUCIA.

(Bongo music)

A red arrow points to the Caribbean Sea, just above South America, on a colourful map of the world.

The narrator says, SAINT LUCIA IS AN ISLAND
COUNTRY IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA.
IT IS A TROPICAL ISLAND WITH
BEAUTIFUL BEACHES AND WONDERFUL
MOUNTAINS.

Palm trees grow on a sandy beach.

The narrator says,
THE WARM WEATHER IN SAINT LUCIA
MEANS THAT LOTS OF DELICIOUS
FRUITS LIKE COCONUTS, PAPAYA,
MANGOS, BANANAS, AND PINEAPPLES
CAN GROW ALL YEAR ROUND.

Waves roll in on a beach.

The narrator says, SAINT LUCIA IS SURROUNDED BY
SEA, WHICH MEANS THAT FISH IS
THE MOST COMMON FOOD EATEN
THERE.

A school of fish swims under water.

A piece of fish cooks over fire on a grill.

The narrator says, MOLLY HAS WASHED HER HANDS,
PUT ON HER APRON, AND SHE'S
READY TO COOK.

Molly washes her hands at a kitchen sink and puts a pink apron over her T-shirt.

Molly says, I'M COOKING JERK SEA BASS,
GREEN SALSA, AND SWEET POTATO
WEDGES FOR MY FRIENDS.

The narrator says, AND SHE'S INVITED GEORGE,
HAZEL, AND MARGOT TO TASTE ONE
OF THE MAIN INGREDIENTS BEFORE
THEY COME ROUND FOR A SPECIAL
SAINT LUCIAN MEAL LATER.

George is a boy with light-brown wavy hair and wearing a blue denim shirt. Hazel is a girl with long wavy blond hair and wearing a striped T-shirt. Margot is a girl with short brown hair and wearing a light blue shirt. George, Hazel, and Margot wave.

George opens a cardboard box and picks up a small piece of green food from inside it.

George says, KIND OF LOOKS LIKE CUCUMBER.

The narrator says, WHAT DO YOU THINK IT IS?

Margot takes a small piece of green food from inside a cardboard box and bites into it.

Margot shakes her head and says, MM, THAT'S NOT NICE.

The narrator says, WELL, IT'S NOT CUCUMBER, IT'S
ACTUALLY SPRING ONION.

Hazel opens a cardboard box and takes out a piece of spring onion. She bites into it.

Hazel makes a face and says, I DON'T LIKE IT THAT MUCH.

George says, BIT SPICY.

Margot says, IT'S SWEET, IT'S CRUNCHY, AND
IT MAKES MY MOUTH BURN.

George says, IT'S ALRIGHT, I LIKE IT.

Hazel chews.

(Hazel laughs)

The narrator says, SO, DO YOU THINK EVERYONE
WILL LIKE MOLLY'S RECIPE?
IT'S GOT SPRING ONIONS IN IT.

(Bongo music)

Ingredients appear on a counter.

The narrator says, AS WELL AS SPRING ONION, YOU'LL
NEED SWEET POTATOES, CINNAMON,
SEA BASS FILLETS, ALL SPICE,
GROUND CUMIN, CAYENNE PEPPER,
FRESH THYME, CHILLI FLAKES,
BLACK PEPPER, CHERRY TOMATOES,
VEGETABLE OIL, AVOCADO, TINNED
PINEAPPLE, A LIME, AND FRESH
CORIANDER.
SO, WHAT'S FIRST MOLLY?

Molly stands behind the kitchen counter.

Molly says, SO, I'M JUST GETTING THE BAG
OUT, NOW I'M GOING TO PUT THE
SWEET POTATO WEDGES IN.

The narrator says, ASK A GROWN UP TO HELP YOU
CUT UP THE SWEET POTATOES INTO
WEDGES.

Molly puts handfuls of sweet potato wedges into a clear plastic bag. She adds spoonfuls of vegetable oil to the plastic bag.

The narrator says, THEN ADD SOME BLACK PEPPER.

Molly uses a pepper grinder.

Molly says, AND HALF A TEASPOON OF CUMIN.
IT SMELLS A BIT LIKE SWEETS.
NOW, I'M JUST GOING TO FOLD THE
BAG AND MIX THEM ALL AROUND.

The narrator says, THAT'S A CLEVER IDEA.

Molly says, I'M GOING TO PUT THEM ONTO
THE BAKING TRAY, AND SPREAD THEM
OUT A BIT.

Molly empties sweet potato wedges onto a shallow metal tray and moves them around.

Molly says,
DADDY, PLEASE MAY YOU COME, AND
PUT THESE IN THE OVEN?

Molly’s Dad puts the tray in an oven.

The narrator says,
THAT'S RIGHT, GET A GROWN UP
TO PUT THEM IN THE OVEN FOR
YOU.
THANKS, DAD.

Molly says, AND NOW I'M GOING TO MAKE THE
SAUCE FOR MY FISH.

Molly puts a clear bowl on the kitchen counter and adds ingredients.

The narrator says, WHAT'S MOLLY ADDING THERE?

Molly says, TWO DESSERT SPOONS OF OLIVE
OIL.

The narrator says, AH.

Molly says, AND THEN THE VERY, VERY
LITTLEST AMOUNT OF CHILLI
FLAKES.

Molly uses a spoon to put chilli flakes into the clear bowl.

Molly says,
A TEA SPOON OF ALL SPICE.

The narrator says, AND THERE WE GO WITH A LITTLE
CAYENNE PEPPER AND CINNAMON,
THEN IT'S TIME TO GIVE IT A
GOOD OLD MIX.

Molly says, IN SAINT LUCIA THEY ALWAYS
HAVE HOT PEPPER SAUCE ON THE
TABLE, BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE DO
LIKE THEIR FOOD SPICY AND SOME
PEOPLE DON'T.
THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT A LOT OF
PEPPER IN.

Molly uses a pepper grinder over the ingredients in the clear bowl.

Molly says, AND JUST THE LEAVES OF SOME
THYME.

Molly pulls small leaves off a sprig of thyme.

Molly says, NOW, IT'S TIME FOR MY VERY
SPECIAL INGREDIENT.

The narrator says, AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS.

(Bongo music)

The narrator says,
SPRING ONION.
SPRING ONIONS ARE PART OF THE
ONION FAMILY OF VEGETABLES AND
ARE PICKED WHEN THEY'RE VERY
YOUNG.
THEY ARE CLOSELY RELATED TO
LEEK AND GARLIC.

An animated spring onion grows in soil. A snail moves towards the spring onion.

The narrator says,
AS THEY GROW OUT OF THE GROUND
THEIR WHITE BULB GETS THICKER
AND THEIR LEAVES BECOME HOLLOW
JUST LIKE A DRINKING STRAW.
BOTH THE LONG GREEN LEAVES AND
THE BULB CAN BE EATEN RAW OR
EVEN COOKED AND THEY ARE
USUALLY TOPPED AND TAILED JUST
LIKE THIS.

In animation, a pair of scissors is used to cut each end off a spring onion.

The narrator says, SPRING ONIONS ARE KNOWN BY LOTS
OF DIFFERENT NAMES IN DIFFERENT
PARTS OF THE WORLD.

Spring onions appear on different parts of a colourful map of the world.

The narrator says,
THEY'RE OFTEN CALLED GREEN
ONIONS IN CANADA, AND SCALLIONS
IN AMERICA.

Molly says, OKAY, NOW I'M JUST GOING TO
DO MY SPECIAL INGREDIENT.

Molly uses scissors to cut spring onions held in her hand.

The narrator says, CAREFULLY TOP AND TAIL THE
SPRING ONIONS, AND CHOP AND CUT
INTO LITTLE PIECES.
NOW, TAKE A BAKING TRAY AND A
LONG PIECE OF KITCHEN FOIL.

Molly says, I'M JUST GOING TO GET MY
SAUCE.
YOU CAN JUST BRUSH IT DOWN, BUT
IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE OF THESE
YOU CAN EITHER JUST USE THE
BACK OF A SPOON OR A FORK.

Molly brushes sauce over a flat piece of foil on a shallow metal tray.

The narrator says, NOW, MOLLY'S USING SEA BASS
HERE BUT YOU CAN USE ANY TYPE
OF WHITE FISH.

Molly puts pieces of fish on the foil.

The narrator says,
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK THERE ARE
NO BONES …

Molly pokes a fork in the pieces of fish.

The narrator says, AND MAKE SURE YOU
WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER HANDLING
RAW FISH.

Molly says, AND NOW I'M GOING TO PAINT MY
FISH.

(The narrator laughs)

The narrator says, THAT'S FUNNY, IT'S LIKE
PAINTING WITH JERK SAUCE.
DO YOU LIKE THE COLOUR?

Molly says, GOING TO GET SOME TOMATOES.

Molly uses scissors to cut cherry tomatoes in a glass.

The narrator says, CAREFUL WITH THOSE SCISSORS
NOW.

Molly says, I THINK MY FRIENDS WILL LIKE
IT, BECAUSE IT LOOKS REALLY
NICE.
I'M JUST GOING TO FOLD THE TOP
UP.
I'M FOLDING IT UP SO THAT ALL
THE JUICES CAN SOAK INTO THE
FISH WITHOUT JUST BEING LET OUT
EVERYWHERE.
DAD, PLEASE CAN YOU PUT IT IN
THE OVEN?

Molly’s Dad puts the tray with the fish on it into the oven.

The narrator says, AH, THAT'S GREAT MOLLY, AND
NOW FOR THAT SALSA.

Molly says, I'M GOING TO GO ROUND MY
AVOCADO AND MAKE A DEEP-ISH CUT.

Molly uses a knife to slice around an avocado.

The narrator says, BE CAREFUL OF YOUR FINGERS.

Molly says, JUST GOING TO POP THE STONE
OUT AND SCOOP IT OUT WITH A
SPOON.

The narrator says, OOH, GOOD TIP THERE, MOLLY.

Molly scoops from the avocado into a ceramic bowl.

Molly says, NOW, I'M GOING TO CUT THE
PINEAPPLE.

Molly slices pineapple rings into cubes and puts them in the ceramic bowl.

Molly says,
SQUEEZE A BIT OF LIME IN BECAUSE
THAT WILL KEEP THE AVOCADO FROM
GOING BROWN.

Molly squeezes a lime into the ceramic bowl.

Molly says, SQUEEZE IT THROUGH MY HANDS SO
NO PIPS GO IN.
I'M GOING TO SNIP MY
CORIANDER.

The narrator says, AND DON'T FORGET TO ADD SOME
BLACK PEPPER AND GIVE IT A GOOD
OLD MIX.

Molly says, A REALLY GOOD THING TO HAVE
WITH THIS IS COCONUT WATER.
SAINT LUCIANS HAVE COCONUT WATER
AND IT WORKS REALLY WELL WITH
THIS RECIPE.
IT'S LOOKING REALLY GOOD NOW.

Molly mixes the ingredients in the ceramic bowl.

The narrator says, AND IF YOU'D LIKE TO MAKE
MOLLY'S RECIPE…

(Bongo music)

The narrator says, ASK A GROWN-UP
TO HELP YOU CUT UP SWEET
POTATOES INTO WEDGES, THEN PUT
THEM INTO A PLASTIC BAG.
ADD VEGETABLE OIL, GROUND
CUMIN, AND BLACK PEPPER, THEN
SEAL THE BAG, AND GIVE IT A
GOOD OLD SHAKE.
TIP THE WEDGES ONTO A BAKING
TRAY AND ASK A GROWN UP TO POP
THEM INTO THE OVEN.
NOW ADD SOME VEGETABLE OIL,
CHILLI FLAKES, ALL SPICE,
CAYENNE PEPPER, AND CINNAMON
POWDER TO A BOWL.
GIVE IT A GOOD MIX AND ADD SOME
BLACK PEPPER.
FRESH THYME LEAVES NEXT, THEN
CAREFULLY CUT UP SPRING ONIONS
AND CHERRY TOMATOES.
COVER A BAKING TRAY WITH A LONG
PIECE OF KITCHEN FOIL AND
SPREAD THE JERK MIXTURE ALL
OVER IT.
NOW, PUT THE FISH ON THE FOIL,
CAREFULLY CHECK IT FOR BONES,
AND DON'T FORGET TO WASH YOUR
HANDS.
THEN SPREAD THE MIXTURE ON TOP,
ADD THE TOMATOES AND SPRING
ONION, FOLD THE FOIL OVER TO
MAKE A PARCEL, AND ASK A GROWN
UP TO PUT IT THE OVEN FOR YOU.
FOR THE SALSA CUT AN AVOCADO IN
HALF, REMOVE THE STONE, AND
SCOOP THE INSIDE INTO A BOWL.
CUT UP THE PINEAPPLE AND ADD
THIS, TOO.
THEN SQUEEZE LIME JUICE ALL
OVER THE TOP.
CHOP UP SOME CORIANDER THEN ADD
THIS TO THE MIX WITH MORE BLACK
PEPPER.
THEN GIVE IT ONE LAST BIG STIR.
NOW, THERE'S JUST ENOUGH TIME
FOR MOLLY TO GET HER TABLE
READY FOR HER SAINT LUCIAN
MEAL.

Molly decorates a round glass patio table outdoors with blue and white striped napkins, white beach shells, and painted wooden fish shapes.

Molly says, SAINT LUCIA IS AN ISLAND, AND
ON ISLANDS THEY HAVE LOTS OF
BEACHES, SO I--
I THOUGHT I'D PUT A BEACH SCENE
DOWN.

The narrator says, BEACH SCENE?
HOW LOVELY.

Molly says, THESE ARE NICE SEA-SIDEY
COLOURS.

The narrator says, WHAT'S MOLLY BRINGING OUT
NOW?

Molly says, WE'RE GOING TO BE DRINKING
COCONUT WATER OUT OF COCONUT
SHELLS, BECAUSE IN SAINT LUCIA
THEY HAVE A LOT OF COCONUTS.

Molly puts coconut shell glasses with little paper umbrellas in them on the patio table.

The narrator says, BRILLIANT.

(Doorbell ringing)

The narrator says, HEY, THAT MUST BE YOUR FRIENDS.
WELL DONE, MOLLY.
WHAT A LOVELY SAINT LUCIAN
TABLE.

Molly opens the front door.

George, Hazel, and Margot say, HI, MOLLY!

Molly says, HI, EVERYONE, COME ON IN.

George, Margot, and Hazel walk in the door. Hazel closes the door behind her.

The narrator says, NOW, EVERYONE HAS WASHED
THEIR HANDS AND THEY'RE READY
TO EAT.

Molly, George, Margot, and Hazel walk outside to the patio table and sit down on chairs.

Hazel says, THIS IS AWESOME, MOLLY.

Molly says, IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE
A BEACH SCENE.
IN THE COCONUTS WE'VE GOT
COCONUT WATER, WOULD YOU LIKE TO
TRY IT?

Hazel says, YEAH, OKAY, SURE.

Molly, Hazel, Margot, and George drink through straws from the coconut shell glasses.

The narrator says, OH, YOU LUCKY LOT.

Hazel says, I REALLY LIKE THAT.

George says, ME, TOO.

Molly’s Dad walks out to the patio table carrying plates.

Molly’s Dad says, HI, KIDS.

The narrator says, HERE'S DAD WITH THE JERK
FISH.

Molly says, AND THIS IS SEA BASS WITH
JERK SEASONING ON IT.
ON THE SIDE WE'VE GOT SWEET
POTATO WEDGES.

Hazel says, OOH.

Molly says, WHICH ARE JUST A HEALTHIER
VERSION OF CHIPS.

The narrator says, HEY, AND DON'T FORGOT YOUR
TASTY SALSA, MOLLY.
WOW, CHECK OUT THOSE COLOURS.
THAT LOOKS DELICIOUS.

Molly, Hazel, George, and Margot eat from the plates.

George says, NEVER TASTED SOMETHING LIKE
THIS.

The narrator says, DO YOU THINK THEY LIKE IT?

Hazel says, I REALLY LIKE THAT.

Molly says, THANKS, HAZEL.

Margot says, LOOKS LIKE IT WAS A LOT OF
WORK TO YOU, MOLLY.

Molly says, BUT I REALLY LIKE DOING IT.

George says, IT'S NICE AS WELL.

The narrator says, WHAT ABOUT THAT SPECIAL
INGREDIENT?
ASK THEM, MOLLY.

Molly says, WHAT DO YOU THINK MY SPECIAL
INGREDIENT IS?

Hazel says, I THINK THE SPRING ONIONS.

George says, SPICES BECAUSE IT'S REALLY
SPICY.

Margot says, I THINK IT WAS SPRING ONION.

Molly says, YEAH, YOU'RE CORRECT, IT WAS
SPRING ONION, AND WHAT DO YOU
THINK OF SPRING ONIONS NOW
THEY'RE IN THE RECIPE?

Hazel says, I REALLY, REALLY LOVE IT.

Margot says, IT'S MUCH BETTER WHEN--
THAN WHEN IT'S RAW.

Molly says, YEAH.

George says, I QUITE LIKED IT BEFORE, BUT
I LIKE IT MORE NOW.

The narrator says, WELL DONE, MOLLY, THEY DO
LIKE THE TASTE OF SPRING ONION
WHEN IT'S COOKED IN YOUR
RECIPE.

Molly says, THANK YOU FOR COMING TO
MY WORLD KITCHEN.
