A title reads: Curious Crafting
Mandisa sits at a table with two children. One has curly red hair, and the other child has blonde hair. They tap stick dolls on the table.
The red-haired child sings, TEE TEE DEE TEE DEE!
The blonde-haired child says, TEE TEE TEE!
Mandisa asks, AND WHAT ARE YOUR FRIENDS UP TO?
The red-haired child says, THEY'RE GOING TO SCHOOL.
Mandisa asks, AND HOW ARE THEY GOING TO GET THERE?
The blonde-haired child says, SCHOOL BUS!
Mandisa says, WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE THEM A SCHOOL BUS LIKE THIS ONE? A MILK CARTON SCHOOL BUS?
Mandisa holds up a crafted yellow school bus.
The red-haired child says, YEAH!
Mandisa says, OK, LET'S GET OUR CRAFT SUPPLIES.
Mandisa and the children stand up. They gather supplies from around the room.
Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED CONSTRUCTION PAPER, PAINTBRUSHES, PAINT, CARDBOARD AND MILK CARTONS PAINTED WHITE.
Mandisa and the children sit at the table again. The craft supplies are on the table.
Mandisa says, OK. WHAT CAN BE USED TO MAKE THE MAIN BODY OF OUR BUS?
The child with blonde hair taps a milk carton.
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT. MILK CARTONS, I HAVE TWO MILK CARTONS HERE THAT I PAINTED WHITE AND WE'RE GOING TO PAINT THEM WHAT COLOUR?
The blonde-haired child says, YELLOW.
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT.
The children use sponge brushes to put yellow paint on the milk cartons.
The red-haired child says, LOOK, MANDISA.
Mandisa says, OH, GOOD JOB, RIVER!
River has covered the carton in paint.
Mandisa says, OK. OUR YELLOW SCHOOL BUSES ARE DRY. WHAT SHOULD WE ADD NEXT?
River says, IT NEEDS WHEELS!
Mandisa says, IT NEEDS WHEELS! THAT'S RIGHT! AND YOU'RE GOING TO GLUE THE BLACK CONSTRUCTION PAPER TO YOUR CARDBOARD CIRCLES.
The children squeeze glue bottles. They glue black circles onto cardboard circles.
Mandisa says, GOOD, SO GOING TO STICK THEM ON. SO FIRST WHEEL'S GOING TO GO RIGHT HERE. SECOND WHEEL RIGHT THERE. GOOD JOB, M.J.
M.J. glues the wheels onto the yellow carton.
Mandisa says, NOW WE'RE GOING TO TURN THE BUS OVER AND YOU CAN PUT TWO MORE WHEELS ON THE OTHER SIDE. ALL RIGHT. GOOD JOB, RIVER. OH, YOUR BUS IS GOING TO BE SO FAST. WE HAVE OUR WHEELS ON. WHAT DO WE NEED NEXT?
River says, WINDOWS.
Mandisa says, WINDOWS! THAT'S RIGHT THE WINDOWS. OK, WE'RE GOING TO ADD THREE WINDOWS TO EACH SIDE AND THEN WE'RE GOING TO ADD A WINDOW IN THE FRONT. WHO CAN SEE OUT?
River says, DRIVER.
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT, RIVER. HERE ARE YOUR WINDOWS. ONE, TWO, THREE WINDOWS FOR ONE SIDE.
The children glue rectangles of black construction paper onto the carton.
Mandisa says, GOOD JOB. WOW, THESE SCHOOL BUSES ARE LOOKING SO GREAT. WE'RE ALMOST DONE OUR SCHOOL BUSES. BUT WHAT SHOULD WE ADD NEXT?
River says, SCHOOL BUS SIGN. THAT'S RIGHT, I HAVE TWO SCHOOL BUS SIGNS FOR EACH OF YOU.
The children glue paper with text that reads: School Bus
Mandisa says, ALL RIGHT, GOOD JOB. AND THE LAST THING WE NEED FOR OUR SCHOOL BUS IS A...
River says, STOP SIGN.
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT, A NICE BIG RED STOP SIGN.
Mandisa helps the children glue tiny red stop signs onto the sides of the cartons.
Mandisa says, SHOULD WE TAKE OUR SCHOOL BUSES FOR A LITTLE TRIP?
M.J. says, YUP.
Mandisa says, OK.
The children move the school bus crafts over the table.
