A child’s voice cries, WHEE!

(Music playing)

An animated sun shines. Mandisa waves beside a tree. Mandisa has black hair held back with a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.

An animated owl and ladybug move around Mandisa. Mandisa holds a hand puppet crafted out of a paper bag and a cardboard robot.

A title reads: Curious Crafting

(Music playing)

Mandisa sits at a table with two children. One child has long black hair in braids. The other child has short black hair.

Mandisa asks, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A FROG?

The child with braids says, YEAH! IT WAS IN THE POND.

The black-haired child says, IN MY BACKYARD.

Mandisa asks, AND WHAT DOES A FROG DO?

The black-haired child says, RIBBIT!

The child with braids says, THEY HOP.

Mandisa says, LIKE...

Mandisa has a frog made out of green construction paper on the table. She presses it down on a cup and it springs up.

(Popping)

Mandisa continues, THIS!

The child with braids says, WHAT?

(Laughs)

Mandisa asks, WHO WANTS TO MAKE THEIR OWN JUMPING FROG?

Both children say, ME! ME!

Mandisa says, OK, LET'S GO GET WHAT WE NEED.

(Music playing)

Mandisa and the children get up from the table. They walk around the room and gather supplies.

(Bell chiming)

Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED PAPER CUPS, SCISSORS, GOOGLY EYES, ELASTIC BANDS, GLUE, GREEN DOT STICKERS, AND CONSTRUCTION PAPER.

Mandisa and the children are back sitting at the table. Craft supplies are in front of them.

Mandisa says, OK, WE HAVE ALL OUR SUPPLIES. ARJAY, DO YOU WANT TO GIVE ONE GREEN CIRCLE TO NIA?

Arjay says, YEAH.

Arjay hands a green piece of paper cut into a circle to Nia.

Mandisa says, THANK YOU.

Nia says, THANK YOU.

Mandisa picks up green paper.

Mandisa says, AND THEN I HAVE A HEART, A GREEN HEART THAT I CUT IN HALF FOR OUR FROG'S LEGS. TWO FROG FEET. AND THERE'S YOUR SMILE FOR YOUR FROG.

Mandisa gives the children cut pieces of green paper.

Mandisa says, OK.

(Laughter)

Mandisa says, FIRST, LET'S GLUE OUR FROG'S LEGS TO THE CIRCLE. PUT SOME GLUE RIGHT HERE ON EACH SIDE OF YOUR CIRCLE.
(Music playing)

The children use glue sticks.

Mandisa says, AND THEN YOU CAN TURN YOUR FROG OVER AND THEN YOU CAN GLUE HIS FEET RIGHT THERE. KIND OF LIKE MINE.

(Music playing)

Nia holds up the frog-shaped paper.

Nia says, RIBBIT.

Mandisa holds a bowl filled with googly eyes.

Mandisa says, I HAVE SOME GOOGLY EYES FOR YOU.

Nia puts googly eyes over her own eyes.

Nia says, HI! MY NAME IS FROGGY. I HAVE PRETEND EYES.

Mandisa says, TO GET THE TONGUE TO CURL, WE CAN CURL IT AROUND YOUR FINGER. AROUND YOUR FINGER. THERE YOU GO.

Mandisa wraps a strip of red paper around Nia’s finger.

Nia says, AHA!

Mandisa helps Arjay glue red paper.

Mandisa says, NOW STICK IT RIGHT THERE. GOOD. OK, I HAVE THESE DOT STICKERS YOU CAN USE TO PUT SOME DOTS ON YOUR FROG.

Nia says, THANK YOU.

(Music playing)

The children add green dots to the frogs.

Nia says, TWO DOTS. BETTER.

(String slide)

An animated smile stretches across the table.

Mandisa says, NOW IT'S TIME TO MAKE OUR FROGS...

Arjay says, JUMP.

Mandisa says, JUMP! THAT'S RIGHT.

(Laughs)

Mandisa says, SO YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE YOUR SCISSORS AND YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE TWO CUTS ON EACH SIDE.

Mandisa cuts a plastic cup.

Mandisa says, ONE CUT THERE. ONE CUT THERE. WATCH YOUR FINGERS, OK.

Mandisa holds the cups as the children use scissors to cut them.

Mandisa says, GREAT.

(Music playing)

Mandisa says, OK, NOW I HAVE TWO ELASTIC BANDS. WE'RE GOING TO SLIDE IT INSIDE THERE, AND THEN YOU'RE GOING TO TWIST IT AND THEN HOOK IT ON THE OTHER SIDE.

(Music playing)

Mandisa stretches an elastic band over the opening of the cup.

Mandisa says, GOOD. THERE, AND THEN THAT'S RIGHT, SO WE'LL MAKE A LITTLE 'X'. TWIST IT.

Arjay says, LOOK AT NIA.

Nia criss-crosses the elastic over the cup.

Mandisa says, YEAH, SHE'S DOING IT. TWIST IT AND THEN HOOK IT ON TO THERE.

Arjay says, YEAH, GOOD.

Mandisa says, AND THEN YOU SLIDE IT DOWN. YOU GOT IT.

Arjay says, IT'S LIKE AN 'X'. MINE LOOKS LIKE AN 'X'?

Mandisa says, IT LOOKS LIKE AN 'X', THAT'S RIGHT. NOW LET'S GLUE OUR FROG TO OUR CUP.

(Music playing)

The children use glue sticks.

Arjay says, I DO!

Mandisa says, YOUR FROGS LOOK GREAT. LET'S MAKE THEM...

Arjay says, JUMP!

Mandisa put her frog on a second cup and presses down. The frog hops up as she releases it.

Mandisa says, YEAH!

Nia and Arjay make their frogs jump.

(Music playing)

(Laughing)

Nia says, IT'S JUMPING OUT OF TOWN. WATCH THIS.

Mandisa says, LET'S SEE. WOW.

The frogs hop up.
