Mandisa sits at a table in a playroom with two children. One child has curly brown hair tied back in a ponytail. The other child has short brown hair.
Mandisa asks, WHO ARE YOUR LITTLE FRIENDS?
The child with brown hair holds up a doll made out of a stick.
The brown-haired child says, THIS IS BUTTON.
Mandisa says, OH, SO CUTE. DO YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK THEY NEED?
The child with curly hair asks, WHAT?
Mandisa sets a crafted house on the table.
Mandisa says, A HOUSE!
The child with curly hair says, OOH!
YES, LIKE THIS ONE.
Mandisa says, I MADE IT FROM A PAPER BAG.
The brown-haired child asks, A PAPER BAG?
Mandisa asks, WOULD YOU LIKE TO CRAFT A HOUSE?
The children shout, YES!
Mandisa says, OK, LET'S GO GET OUR CRAFT SUPPLIES.
Mandisa and the children get up from the table. They walk around the playroom, gathering craft supplies.
Mandisa narrates, GRAB SOME POM POMS. CONSTRUCTION PAPER, TISSUE PAPER. DON'T FORGET YOUR WHITE PAPER BAG, MARKERS AND GLUE.
Mandisa and the children sit at the table with the craft supplies in front of them.
Mandisa says, FIRST, WE ARE GOING TO DECORATE OUR HOUSE. ZANNA, HOW MANY WINDOWS DO I HAVE?
Zanna counts the windows on the paper house.
Zanna says, ONE, TWO THREE.
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT. SO I HAVE CUT OUT SOME CONSTRUCTION PAPER WINDOWS AND DOORS FOR YOU.
Zanna says, OK, THAT'S GREAT.
Mandisa asks, HOW MANY ROOMS ARE IN YOUR HOUSE?
Zanna says, 16.
Mandisa says, YOU CAN GLUE YOUR LITTLE WINDOW TO YOUR DOOR.
The brown-haired child uses a glue stick.
The brown-haired child says, OK. I'LL TRY.
Mandisa says, NOW I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU YOUR PAPER BAGS AND YOU CAN START GLUING YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS TO THE FRONT.
Mandisa gives the children white paper bags.
The brown-haired child says, I LIKE THAT.
The brown-haired child says, WE JUST NEED TO GLUE THIS ON AND...TA DA!
Mandisa says, GOOD JOB. WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO GLUE THAT WINDOW? WHAT ARE THESE, ZANNA?
Zanna says, TREES.
Mandisa takes cut pieces of paper out of a bowl.
Mandisa says, GET A BLUE SQUARE AND A RED SQUARE? YOU CAN PUT A TREE AND SOME FLOWERS RIGHT BESIDE YOUR DOOR.
The brown-haired child says, AND THE RED ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Mandisa says, AND I HAVE SOME POM POMS THAT WE CAN GLUE DOWN AS FLOWERS AND TREES.
The brown-haired child says, I'M GOING TO GO GET SOME GREEN.
Zanna holds a red pom pom.
Mandisa says, SO YOU'RE GOING TO STICK YOUR POM POM IN THE GLUE.
Zanna says, I'M TRYING TO.
Mandisa says, AND THHEN STICK IT JUST ABOVE YOUR BRANCH LIKE THAT.
The brown-haired child says, SO THAT'S A GREAT IDEA.
Mandisa helps Zanna glue pom poms.
Mandisa says, PUT YOUR NEXT ONE. OK, WHAT'S THIS ON TOP OF MY HOUSE?
The brown-haired child says, A ROOF!
Mandisa says, A ROOF!
Mandisa asks, AND ZANNA, WHAT'S THIS?
Zanna says, A CHIMNEY!
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT? HERE IS YOUR ROOF. YOU GUYS CAN DECORATE IT. ALSO GOT SOME MORE CONSTRUCTION PAPER FOR OUR CHIMNEY.
Mandisa gives the children green and brown papers.
Zanna says, I NEED MORE GLUE.
The brown-haired child says, I'M GOING TO DO SOME SWERVY LINES.
Mandisa says, YOU COULD ALSO DRAW SOME BRICKS ON YOUR CHIMNEY.
The brown-haired child says, LOOK AT MY ROOF, ZANNA.
Zanna says, OH.
The brown-haired child says, IT'S COOL.
Mandisa flips a folded piece of green paper.
Mandisa says, AND THEN TURN AROUND.
The brown-haired child says, I NEED TO ADD SOME DETAILS.
Mandisa says, GOOD. AND NOW YOU CAN GLUE YOUR WINDOWS.
Animated eyes appear on the table.
Mandisa says, SO PRETTY. I LOVE THE PURPLE ON YOUR CHIMNEY. YOUR HOUSES DON'T LOOK LIKE MINE. THEY'RE ALL FLAT!
Mandisa holds out white tissue paper.
Mandisa says, TISSUE PAPER THAT YOU CAN PUT INSIDE. SO SCRUNCH IT UP AND YOU CAN PUT THAT INSIDE YOUR HOUSE TO GIVE IT SOME SHAPE.
All says, SCRUNCH, SCRUNCH, SCRUNCH!
Mandisa says, GOOD.
The children put tissue paper in the paper bags.
Mandisa says, WE'RE GOING TO FOLD THE TOP JUST LIKE THAT.
Mandisa helps the children put the folded paper “roofs” on top of the bags.
Mandisa says, SO YOU WANT THE FRONT TO BE RIGHT THERE. GOOD JOB, ZANNA! THAT LOOKS AMAZING. OK, THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS TO SHOW OUR LITTLE PEOPLE THEIR NEW HOUSES.
Mandisa gives the stick dolls to the children.
The brown-haired child says, OK, BUT I HAVE TO BRING THEM THERE.
The children move the stick dolls over the table to the paper bag houses.
Mandisa says, I'M GOING TO GO INSIDE MY HOUSE.
The brown-haired child says, OH, I LIKE THIS.
Mandisa asks, CAN I COME OVER TO YOUR HOUSE?
The brown-haired child says, SURE.
Mandisa says, OK!
