A dark alligator comes out of the grasses and into the water. The squirrel hops over its back.

The person in the blue raincoat goes to a door. A little girl with brown hair opens the door.

The little girl says, COME IN, QUICK!

The red squirrel runs up a tree.

(Chattering)

The squirrel goes to the top of the tree. It clings to a branch and looks around.

(Leaves rustling, wind howling)

There is a hole in the trunk of a willow tree.

(Chattering)

The squirrel runs and jumps onto the willow tree. It goes inside the hole in the trunk. There is a nest with two eggs inside. The squirrel sniffs around.

(Chattering)

(Sniffing)

The squirrel kicks the eggs to the side and sits in the nest.

(Sighing)

Leaves blow outside.

(Wind whistling)

The white-haired man stands at the window. Three alligators float underwater. A woman with two children stand at window and look out as umbrellas blow past.

The squirrel sits in the nest. Cracks appear in the one of the eggs.

(Cracking)

A small triangle opens in the egg. Through the opening, the squirrel sits, looking out of the tree. A baby owl looks out from the egg. The squirrel turns.

(Chattering)

The squirrel moves closer.

(Sniffing)

The squirrel sniffs the egg. The baby owl has white down and orange eyes.

(Cheeping)

The squirrel jumps back.

(Cracking)

The egg wobbles and the owl sticks one foot out. The egg breaks apart and the bird tumbles out.

(Cheeping)

The owl crawls to the squirrel and tries to get under the squirrel on the nest. The squirrel moves back and shakes its head.

(Chattering)

The bird waggles its tailfeathers and moves closer. The squirrel jumps and clings to the side of the tree. The owl flaps its tiny wings. It takes a few steps toward the squirrel.

(Chattering)

(Squeaking)

The squirrel jump to the opening of the trunk. The owl hurries toward the squirrel.

(Chattering)

(Cheeping)

The squirrel jumps outside and is caught by the wind. The owl stares after it. The squirrel runs along a branch.

(Wind howling)

The owl flaps its wings.

(Chirping)

The owl looks at other trees.

(Leaves rustling)

(Cheeping)

The owl turns to look inside. It goes to the other egg and taps it with its beak.

(Tapping)

The egg wobbles and taps the owl’s head.

(Chirping)

The owl taps the egg again and it taps back.

(Tapping)

The Ferris wheel rolls to the willow tree and gets caught in its branches.

(Rattling)

The owl looks around as the tree shakes.

(Cheeping)

The tree trunk starts to rip apart.

(Screaming)

The owl and the egg slide to one side.

The Ferris wheel rolls away from the tree. The owl and the egg fall to the ground.

(Chirping)

Tree branches stop moving in the wind.

(Wind dying down)

The owl is on green grass next to the egg. The sun begins to shine. The owl sneezes. The egg moves.

Water lands on a plant and pollen puffs out from it.

(Droplet landing)

The owl looks up.

(Chirping)

The owl runs over to the plants and looks at another puff of pollen.

(Water dropping)

The owl goes to green plants and looks up.

(Cheeping)

The owl opens its mouth. A drop of water splashes on its head. It shakes its down.

(Chirping)

The owl hops toward a pool of water. It stops and looks back at the egg.

(Chirping)

The egg wobbles and rolls on its side.

(Quacking)

A black duck with a red beak stands with a duckling.

(Chirping)

The owl runs toward the duck. The duck hurries to the water, followed by several black ducklings.

(Squawking)

They jump in the water. The owl and the egg stop at the edge of the water.

(Chirping)

The owl and the egg follow a possum as it walks with babies on its back. The owl pulls on the possum’s tail but it keeps walking.

(Cheeping)

The owl runs forward. A pig lies on its side while piglets nurse.

(Oinking)

The owl tries to move in between the piglets. It tries to nurse with its beak.

(Oinking)

The pig raises its head. A piglet pushes the owl away. The owl rolls next to the egg.

(Chirping sadly)

The egg leans against the owl.

(Whistle)

The egg and the owl move under the roots of a tree.

(Birdsong)

They walk through vegetation. The egg rolls down an incline.

(Chirping)

The owl tumbles down. Its eyes spin and it shakes itself. The owl gets up and stares at a nest of eggs on the ground.

(Chirping, whistling)

One of the eggs moves. Then more eggs move. The owl taps a shell.

(Tapping)

(Chirping)

The owl looks at one egg and shakes its head. It taps another.

(Chirping)

Another egg jumps and the owl taps it.

(Egg chirping)

The owl pushes the egg with its head. The owl moves the egg out of the nest. The owl starts to walk. It looks back at the egg.

(Questioning chirp)

The owl rolls the egg. It rolls the egg until bumps against the leg of an alligator. The owl stares up.

(Chirping)

The owl flutters its wing and clings to the alligator’s leg. It rubs against the alligator’s belly.

(Chirp)

The alligator tilts its head. It thrashes water with its tail.

(Splashing)

The egg moves.

(Chirping)

The alligator looks at the egg. It starts to take the egg in its jaws. The owl looks alarmed. It pushes the egg away and they both hurry away.

(Music playing)

The alligator goes after them.

(Splashing)

The owl runs while pushing the egg. It looks back at the approaching alligator.

(Growling)

The alligator opens its mouth. Its snout gets caught in a root. The owl runs and rolls the egg.

(Growling)

The alligator turns away.

(Music playing)

The owl pushes the egg onto lilypads on a pond. The owl slows. The egg rolls off a lilypad and bobs in the water. The owl goes in the water and starts to sink.

(Alarmed chirping)

The owl pushes the egg and kicks its legs.

(Alarmed chirping)

An otter swims to the bottom of the pond. It grabs a clamshell and a rock and swims to the surface. The otter floats on its back and hits the clamshell against the rock on its belly.

(Tapping)

The owl looks around. It kicks toward the otter.

(Chirping)

The egg slips underwater.

(Squeak)

The owl turns upside down and pulls the egg back up. The owl looks at the otter.

The otter eats. It licks its mouth and pushes the rock off its belly.

(Splashing)

The otter tilts its head as the egg is pushed up onto it, followed by the owl.

(Chirping)

The egg starts to roll. The owl reaches for it but the otter catches the egg. The owl and the otter look at each other.

(Music playing)

The owl walks along the otter’s belly. The otter licks the owl.

(Chirping)

The owl taps the egg.

(Tapping)

(Cracking)

The top of the egg breaks open and a baby alligator looks out.

(Alligator cheeping)

The owl moves its head and stares.

(Chirping)

The baby alligator climbs out of the egg and jumps in the water. It swims away.

(Owl chirping)

The baby alligator swims to an adult alligator and climbs on its snout.

(Cooing)

The owl looks in the empty eggshell.

(Chirping)

The owl looks around.

(Chirping)

The owl climbs on the otter’s head and looks around.

(Chirping)

(Chattering)

The owl looks down at the otter as it balances on its nose. The otter floats past a branch and the owl jumps on it.

(Whistling)

The otter waves as it floats away. The owl hurries along the branch.

(Splashing)

It is evening. The owl walks along the ground, between trees.

(Crickets)

The owl looks up at a firefly. It follows the firefly as it drifts down to a leaf.

(Owl whistling)

The firefly’s light goes out. The owl looks surprised.

(Chattering)

The light goes back on and the firefly flies upward.

(Chirping)

The owl watches as more fireflies move above. They go past a snake on a branch.

(Hissing)

Bats hang upside down on a branch.

(Flapping)

Fireflies go past a red fox. The owl keeps walking and looking up at the fireflies.

(Crickets)

The owl goes back to the nest of eggs. The fireflies move around them.

(Cooing)

The owl moves around the edge of the nest. In the light, the outlines of baby alligators can be seen through the shells. One egg has a fluffier outline.

The owl taps the egg’s shell.

(Tapping)

A baby owl be seen through the shell.

(Cooing)

(Egg chirping)

The owl hugs the egg.

(Chirping)

The owl rolls the egg away.

The owl pushes the egg up a roof to an empty nest.

(Wind blowing)

The owl looks toward houses near the edge of the water. The owl sits beside the egg. It closes its eyes. The egg moves in a shiver.

The owl climbs on top of the egg. The owl sleeps sprawled over the egg.

(Seagull calling)

It is daytime.

(Machinery whirring)

The owl rocks on the egg. The owl opens its eyes. The roof they are on is being lifted by a crane.

(Alarmed chirping)

A voice calls, BE CAREFUL!

The owl holds onto the egg as the roof is lowered to the ground.

A man in a helmet and safety vest stands near the crane.

(Person speaking indistinctly)

A person’s voice says, OKAY, ALMOST THERE, GOOD. HOLD IT!

A hole opens in the bottom of nest and the owl falls through it into a chimney.

(Cheeping)

(Engine rumbling)

The owl falls to the ground.

The owl looks up and catches the egg as it falls.

(Roaring)

The roof is moved away from above them and a wheelbarrow goes by. The egg rolls and the owl runs to steady it.

(Cheeping)

(Rumbling)

A bulldozer pushes dirt past them. The egg rolls and the owl chases after it.

(Chirping)

The egg rolls through grass and down a hill.

(Chirping)

It rolls towards houses that are on stilts near the water.

The owl waves its wings.

(Chirping)

A child’s voice says, WATCH OUT, HERE I COME!

The child with the brown hair is beside a young child in yellow. They play with blocks and toy figures.

The brown-haired child says, IT'S ME, ROSIE, I'M THE BIG STORM. I'LL SMASH EVERYTHING!

(Making wind noises)

The egg rolls up to them.

The child in yellow asks, WH-WHAT IS THAT?!

Rosie says, WELL, IT'S AN EGG, DUMMY.

The child in yellow touches the egg and says, OH, IT'S HOT!

Rosie says, DON'T BE SILLY. IT'S NOT HOT. HEY, MOVE BACK!

Rosie leans closer to the egg.

The child in yellow asks, YOU THINK THERE'S A BABY INSIDE?

(Cheeping)

The egg jumps.

(Both gasping)

The child in yellow cries, IT'S ALIVE! MOMMY, MOMMY!

(Rosie shushing)

Rosie says, BE QUIET, SHE WON'T LET US KEEP IT.

Mommy says, WALTER, ROSIE, WE'RE LEAVING NOW, KIDS.

Mommy stands by a car.

The owl walks through grass.

(Chirping loudly)

Mommy says, COME ON, LET'S GO.

Rosie picks up the egg and whispers, OKAY, THEN, COME WITH US.

The owl runs toward them as Rosie and Walter go to the car.

(Chirping)

Walter asks, WHAT SHALL WE CALL HIM?

Rosie says, HOW ABOUT SQUEAK?

Rosie gets in the backseat of the car. Walter hands her the egg.

Walter says, CAREFUL!

(Car starting)

Walter gets in and shuts the car door. The owl runs toward the car.

(Chirping)

The car drives away. The owl hops onto the road and tries to follow. The owl stops and stares after the car.

(Chirping)

Mommy drives. She has short brown hair and wears a blue raincoat.

Mommy says, HEY, LOOK, KIDS. THEY'RE REPAIRING THE POWER LINES. THE TV WILL WORK AGAIN.

Walter and Rosie cry, YEAH, TV!

Walter says, WOO-HOO!

Mommy looks out the car windows. A house and trees are tilted to one side.

Mommy says, OH, MY, WHAT A BIG MESS.

Walter says, IT'S THE ROSIE STORM THAT SMASHED IT ALL.

Rosie says, NO, THAT'S NOT TRUE, IT WASN'T ME.

Rosie looks at the egg.

Walter says, LET ME SEE!

Rosie holds the egg above her head.

Rosie says, NO, STOP IT, YOU'LL BREAK IT!

Rosie holds the egg near a car window. Walter pulls at her sleeve.

Walter says, HEY, GIVE IT TO ME! I WANT TO HOLD IT, TOO!

The egg slips between their hands and falls onto the backseat.

Rosie says, NO, STOP IT!

(Gasping)

(Squeaking)

A crack appears in the shell.

(Cracking)

Rosie and Walter cover their mouths.

(Both gasping)

Mommy says, EVERYTHING OKAY BACK THERE? YOU'VE GONE QUIET.

Rosie says, UH, YES, YES. WE'VE JUST CALMED DOWN SO WE DON'T GET CAR SICK.

Walter nods.

Mommy says, ALRIGHT, OKAY. WE'LL BE THERE SOON.

Walter and Rosie look at the egg.

Walter says, YOU SEE THAT?

Rosie says, LOOK, HE'S FINALLY HATCHING!

(Music playing)

The egg breaks and a baby owl with tawny down emerges. It blinks orange eyes.

Rosie smiles

(Chirping)

Rosie says, SHH! BE QUIET, NOT SO LOUD!

Walter touches the owl’s head with a finger.

Walter says, HELLO, SQUEAK!

(Purring)

Walter kisses Squeak’s head.

(Chirping)

Rosie says, OH, HE LOOKS SO SOFT!

Rosie reaches down with a finger and Squeak grabs the finger with his beak.

Rosie says, OUCH!

(Music playing)

The owl walks along a road.

(Chirping)

The owl stops and looks around.

(Hammering)

The owl tilts its head as workers straighten the tilted house and tree.

(Squeaking)

The owl turns. It hurries into a yard.

(Owl chirping)

(Squeaking)

A pair of squeaking boots walk past a fence. The owl follows.

A person wears white rubber boots and carries two buckets.

A voice says, OH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON THE GROUND? DID YOU FALL OUT YOUR NEST?

(Chirping)

The owl taps the boots.

The person in boots says, YOU LIKE MY BOOTS, HUH? BE CAREFUL, YOU'RE GOING TO GET TRODDEN ON! GO ON, FLY OFF.

The owl tries to flap its wings. It stares after the person in the boots.

(Chirping)

Boats are overturned by a dock.

(Seagulls squawking)

The car drives past toward a watchtower. Mommy gets out and opens the back door of the car.

Mommy says, COME ON KIDS, GET OUT!

Walter climbs out with his hand under his shirt.

He holds Squeak under his shirt.

(Squeaking)

Squeak nips at Walter’s hand.

Walter says, OUCH!

Rosie puts her finger to her lips.

Rosie says, SHUSH!

Walter says, IT WASN’T ME. IT WAS SQUEAK. HE BIT ME.

Rosie turns and cries, GRANDPA!

Rosie runs to the whitehaired man.

Grandpa says, OH, SWEETIE PIE.

He picks Rosie up.

(Grunting)

Grandpa says, LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE GROWN AGAIN!

Rosie says, YES, YOU SEE? I'M NOT SO LITTLE ANYMORE.

Walter slowly walks toward them.

Grandpa says, HELLO, WALTER, YOU'RE VERY QUIET TODAY.

Walter says, ME? NO.

Grandpa asks, WHAT YOU HIDING UNDER YOUR T-SHIRT?

Walter says, OH, NOTHING!

(Chirping)

Squeak moves.

(Shushing)

Grandpa says, THAT'S WEIRD, THERE'S SOMETHING MOVING UNDER THERE.

Rosie whispers, IT'S A SECRET, WE CAN'T TELL ANYONE.

Grandpa asks, NOT EVEN ME?

The owl walks along a partially flooded road. White kingfishers walk in the water.

(Clicking)

One kingfisher pecks at an inflatable pool toy. Air hisses out of it.

(Hissing)

The kingfishers jump and flap their wings.

(Squawking)

The owl hurries past.

(Squawking)

(Music playing)

Walter takes out Squeak.

Walter says, LOOK HERE!

Grandpa says, OH, IT'S A LITTLE BABY OWL!

Rosie says, YES, AT FIRST HE WAS JUST IN HIS EGG, AND THEN, HE FELL DOWN, BUMP!

(Chirping)

Rosie says, AND HE HATCHED IN THE CAR!

Walter says, HE'S CALLED SQUEAK, HE'S REALLY SOFT! EXCEPT HERE, HIS BEAK'S A BIT BITEY!

Grandpa says, YOU KNOW, OWLS ARE WILD ANIMALS, AND THEY BELONG IN THE WILD.

Rosie says, BUT WE CAN LOOK AFTER HIM, CAN'T WE?

Walter says, WE CAN FEED HIM CHIPS AND BEEF JERKY.

Grandpa says, NO, NO, WE HAVE TO TAKE HIM TO THE SHELTER, THEY CAN FIND HIM A MOTHER.

(Chirping)

Walter asks, CAN'T HE STAY WITH US?

Grandpa says, OKAY, BUT JUST WHILE WE'RE HAVING LUNCH. LET'S FIND HIM A LITTLE NEST IN THE MEANWHILE.

Grandpa picks up a blue bowl.

Grandpa says, HERE, THIS THING WILL DO THE JOB NICELY.

He pulls out a tissue.

Grandpa says, BRING HIM CLOSER TO ME PLEASE. LOWER YOUR HAND.

Walter puts Squeak in the tissue.

(Chirping)

Grandpa says, GENTLY, LIKE THAT. YOU SHOULDN'T TOUCH HIM TOO MUCH, HE MUSTN'T TAKE OUR SCENT.

(Rosie and Walter sniffing)

Walter asks, BUT WHAT SMELL?

Rosie asks, DO WE SMELL?

(Sniffing)

Grandpa puts Squeak in the blue bowl and sets it on a desk.

Grandpa says, OKAY, HE'LL BE HAPPY HERE.

Walter and Rosie peer into the bowl.

(Cheeping)

Grandpa says, LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!

Walter says, SEE YOU LATER, SQUEAK!

(Chirping)

Rosie and Grandpa go downstairs. Walter looks back.

Walter says, DON'T WORRY, WE'LL BE BACK.

(Chirping)

Squeak hops inside the bowl. It rocks from side to side and hits the button on the microphone.

(Clicking)

(Chirping over loudspeaker)

The chirping goes out over the town. A worker looks up from a traffic light. The red squirrel clings to a branch and looks around. The baby alligator stands up on the alligator’s head.

(Chirping)

The possum keeps walking through the woods.

Squeak moves around the bowl.

(Chirping)

The owl walks down the road.

(Chirping over a loudspeaker)

The owl stops and turns around.

(Cheeping)

Frogs hop in puddles under a bench.

(Croaking)

(Chirping)

The owl runs along the road past the dock.

(Seagulls squawking)

A dog jumps up inside a house.

(Barking)

The owl hurries past.

(Chirping)

The owl goes toward the watchtower.

(Cheeping over loudspeaker)

The owl goes toward stairs.

(Chirping)

The owl stands at the bottom of the stairs and looks up at the steps.

(Chirping)

(Music playing)

The owl pulls itself up a step. It reaches another step.

(Plaintive chirp)

Squeak looks around. He jumps in the bowl.

(Cheeping)

Grandpa adds spices to a red pot on a stove.

Grandpa says, A LITTLE PARSLEY. THE GUMBO'S READY!

Rosie and Walter chant, GUMBO, GUMBO, GUMBO!

Walter and Rosie sit at a table.

Grandpa says, IT'S HOT, WATCH OUT, COMING THROUGH!

Both children cry, YAY!

Grandpa sets the pot on the table in front of them.

Walter asks, DID YOU PUT "SCRIMPS" IN IT?

Rosie says, THEY'RE CALLED "SHRIMP," NOT "SCRIMPS," SILLY!

Grandpa says, CAN YOU TWO STOP SQUABBLING FOR JUST A SECOND? SO, WHO'S UP FIRST THEN?

Grandpa holds a ladle.

Rosie picks up a bowl and says, ME, I'M FIRST DIBS!

Walter says, AND I'M SECOND!

Grandpa ladles the gumbo into the bowls.

Rosie says, HEY, GRANDPA, COULD WE KEEP SOME GUMBO FOR SQUEAK? THAT WAY HE'LL HAVE SOMETHING TO EAT AT THE ANIMAL SHELTER TONIGHT.

Grandpa says, HM, I'M NOT SURE OWLS LIKE GUMBO, DEAR.

Mommy comes into a kitchen from a balcony.

Mommy says, MM, THAT SMELLS YUMMY.

(Chirping)

Mommy says, YOU HEAR THAT? THERE'S A FUNNY BIRD OUTSIDE.

Rosie covers her mouth. Walter stares.

(Chirping)

Mommy says, WHAT A WEIRD SOUNDING SEAGULL.

Grandpa says, OH, YEAH, YOU THINK?

The owl pulls itself up to the top step. Squeak rocks the bowl by jumping up and down.

(Chirping)

The owl runs toward the desk.

(Both chirping)

The bowl tilts and Squeak slides out onto the floor. Squeak looks up as the owl runs and flaps its wings.

(Chirping)

The bowl falls on top of the owl, covering it. The owl taps against the side.

(Tapping)

Squeak taps back.

Rosie says, OH, THE SALAD BOWL FELL ON THE FLOOR!

Rosie and Walter are at the top of the stairs, with Grandpa behind them.

Walter calls, SQUEAK? WHERE ARE YOU? IT'S WALTER!

Walter looks at Squeak beside the bowl.

Walter says, HEY, THERE'S SOMETHING UNDER THERE?

(Squeaking)

Squeak hits the bowl.

(Tapping)

Walter lifts the bowl. Squeak and the owl look at each other. They wave their wings.

(Both cheeping)

Walter says, HEY LOOK, THERE'S ANOTHER OWL!

Rosie says, OH, SHE'S PRETTY!

Grandpa says, OH, HOW'D SHE GET THERE?

Squeak and the owl rub their heads together.

(Both cooing)

Squeak touches the owl’s beak and her feathers ruffle.

(Chirping)

The owl runs around, wings flapping. Squeak tries to flap.

(Cheeping)

Squeak does somersaults.

The owl shakes her head.

(Chirping)

She walks by Squeak.

Rosie says, YOU SEE, SHE'S SHOWING HIM HOW TO WALK AND HE'S JUST DOING ROLY-POLIES!

Squeak walks a few steps, then rolls. The owl flaps her wings and looks pleased.

(Chirping)

(Children laughing)

Grandpa rides a bicycle attached to an ice cream cart.

(Bell ringing)

Rosie and Walter are in the cart, holding the bowl with Squeak and the owl in it. They ride along the dock.

(Seagulls squawking)

(Music playing)

They ride over a road. A ruined building is in the distance on the edge of the water. Puddles dot the road. The wind blows the children’s hair and the feathers of the owls.

(Children laughing)

The owl spreads her wings. The wind catches them and she lifts off.

(Chirping)

The children cry, STOP, STOP!

Rosie says, STOP THE BIKE, GRANDPA!

The owl floats on the wind.

(Chirping)

Rosie climbs down from the cart. She takes the bowl from Walter.

(Chirping)

The owl flies unsteadily over rocks toward a beach. The owl tumbles onto the sand and sits up.

(Shaking, cheeping)

Rosie climbs down the rocks.

Rosie says, DON'T WORRY SQUEAK, WE'LL FIND YOUR LITTLE FRIEND!

Rosie tilts the bowl and Squeak tumbles out next to the owl.

Rosie says, OKAY, EVERYBODY OFF!

Squeak and the owl hug.

(Purring)

The owls turn and look at the beach and the water.

(Waves rolling)

The owls run over the sand.

(Both chirping excitedly)

Grandpa says, THEY SEEM TO LIKE THE SEA.

He stands by Walter and Rosie.

Walter calls, IT'S BATH TIME!

The owl and Squeak stand at the edge of the water. A wave rolls in and Squeak jumps back.

(Loud chirping)

The owl sits in the water and ruffles feathers. Squeak moves forward and floats, sitting up. The waves push him back and forth.

(Chirping)

(Both chirping)

The two flamingos fly overhead.

(Squawking)

The owls sit on the sand and watch the flamingos fly.

(Squawking)

A round drainpipe opens out on the beach. The owls peer inside. The pipe is littered with broken beach equipment.

(The owl whistling)

The owl looks at Squeak.

(Questioning chirping)

Squeak nods and the two owls walk into the drainpipe.

(Music playing)

Rosie calls, HEY, SQUEAK, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Rosie and Walter kneel at the opening of the pipe.

Walter says, NOT DOWN THERE, COME BACK!

The owls keep walking. The pipe opens into a marsh. The children run to watch the owls walk into the marsh.

Walter calls, SQUEAK, COME BACK!

Grandpa says, YOU KNOW WHAT? I THINK THEY'RE GOING HOME.

Walter asks, SO, THEY'RE LEAVING FOREVER?

Rosie says, DON'T WE NEED TO TAKE THEM TO THE ANIMAL SHELTER?

Grandpa says, I THINK THEY'RE GETTING ON JUST FINE BY THEMSELVES. WE JUST HAVE TO LET THEM BE NOW.

The owls walk into tall grasses.

Walter says, GOODBYE, SQUEAK! COME BACK AND SEE US.

Squeak looks back.

(Chirping)

Squeak follows the owl.

(Music playing)

The landscape is filled with white mist. The two owls sit on a floating branch. The Ferris wheel turns in the water as it goes by them. Kingfishers move through the mist. A deer looks up.

Squeak sleeps, leaning against the owl.

(Cooing)

The branch comes to a stop on a patch of sand. The owl jumps down.

(Cheeping)

Squeak follows. He looks at his stomach.

(Stomach grumbling)

(Chirping)

The owl looks around and pecks at a stick.

(Animal grunting)

The owl looks up.

(Chirping)

A raccoon is caught in an inflatable orange pool toy. The owls stare. The raccoon looks distressed.

(Cheeping)

(Grunting)

The owl moves closer and stops as the raccoon thrashes.

(Cheeping)

(Growling)

The owl pecks at the inflatable. It rips.

(Popping, hissing)

It deflates. The raccoon stands, with the pool toy like an orange skirt around its waist. The raccoon pushes it off.

(Grunting)

The raccoon grabs the pool toy with its teeth and shakes it. The owls move closer.

(Chirping)

The raccoon looks at them. The owl flaps her wings. Squeak flaps too.

(Chattering)

The raccoon looks around. It goes off into bushes, carrying the pool toy. The owl steps forward.

(Chirping)

Squeak rubs his stomach.

(Stomach grumbling)

Squeak looks at the owl.

(Cheeping)

(Music playing)

Caterpillars move over twigs. The owl looks at them. Squeak stands by the owl.

(Cheeping)

The owl pulls a caterpillar off a twig with her beak. Squeak opens his mouth.

(Chirping)

The caterpillar crawls up the owl’s beak.

(Chirping)

The owl tries to look at the caterpillar and falls over.

(Cheeping)

The owl catches the caterpillar with her foot and passes it to Squeak.

(Chirping)

The caterpillar wriggles on top of Squeak’s beak. A dark hand reaches down and picks up the caterpillar and lowers it into Squeak’s mouth. The owls turn.

The raccoon is there with a smaller raccoon. The small raccoon chews on the pool toy.

(Grunting)

(Chirping)

The owl steps forward and the raccoon feeds her a caterpillar. The owl looks at the raccoon. The raccoon tilts its head as it looks back at the owls.

(Cheeping)

The owl runs forward and hugs the raccoon. Squeak follows.

(Cheeping)

The raccoon pets the owls.

(Cooing)

(Music playing)

The owls follow the raccoon past the flamingos. The small raccoon follows, dragging the pool toy.

They climb a tree, with the raccoon carrying the owls. A young raccoon sticks its head out of a hole in the tree and looks down at them.

(Chattering)

The young raccoon jumps up and down. It sniffs at the two owls. They go inside a den in the tree.

(Chirping)

The raccoon lies on her side. The other raccoons go to her.

(Chattering)

Squeak goes forward and leans against the raccoon. The owl flaps her wings and runs to the raccoon.

(Chirping)

The raccoon cuddles the owl.

(Chirping)

(Music playing)
