(music plays)
Polkaroo skips down the porch steps of his house into the garden. It's nighttime. The lights are on inside the house and there is a cozy sofa on the porch. Polkaroo looks at the night sky using his telescope.

Polkaroo is a tall, green kangaroo, and wears a mended, yellow and multi-coloured polka dot costume. He cups his hands over his long green ears and says POLKAROO!

(music plays)
His yellow hair moves as he jumps up and flies to outer space. He passes planet Earth and continues flying way up like a rocket.

As the hot, blazing Sun and Mercury appear, a female voice says
IF YOU GO WAY UP, PAST
THE CLOUDS INTO SPACE,
YOU'LL FIND EIGHT PLANETS,
EACH IN THEIR PLACE.

The planets appear on screen as the voice names them. Mercury is small and red.

The voice says THE FIRST IS MERCURY,
SECOND IS VENUS,
Venus is brownish with stripes.

The voice continues THIRD IS THE EARTH WITH THE
MOON FLYING BETWEEN US.
The Earth is blue and brown, which shows the surface of the oceans and the land. The moon appears between Earth and Mars.

The voice says MARS IS FOURTH,
Mars is red.

The voice says JUPITER'S FIFTH.
Jupiter is enormous and red with off white stripes and a stain shaped like an eye.

The voice says SATURN'S THE SIXTH WITH
RINGS THAT GO SWISH.
Saturn is greyish and has rings around it.

The voice says SEVENTH IS URANUS,
THEN AT THE END,
NEPTUNE IS EIGHTH NEAR
PLUTO THEIR FRIEND.

Uranus and Neptune are blueish and about the same size. Pluto is the smallest and it’s off white.
Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn float by.

Polkaroo flies up to the planets and says POLKAROO!

The female voice says POLKAROO LOVES
ALL THE PLANETS.
BUT, TO BE HONEST,
HE WANTS TO KNOW WHICH IS
HOT, HOTTER AND HOTTEST.

A question mark appears above the second planet.
Then, Polkaroo pops up next to the Earth wearing sunglasses and waving a purple fan.

The female voice says DURING THE SUMMER
EARTH CAN BE HOT.
MAKE SURE TO PUT SUNSCREEN
ON YOUR POLKA DOTS.

Polkaroo sprays sunscreen on his polka dots and laughs.

The female voice says OVER ON MERCURY,
WHERE THERE'S NO WATER,
THE SUN IS SO CLOSE
THAT IT GETS MUCH HOTTER.
BUT THE HOTTEST OF ALL
SITS RIGHT BETWEEN US.
BETWEEN MERCURY AND EARTH
IS THE HOT PLANET VENUS.

The second planet glows. It looks hot. We fly into it and see thick red clouds.

The female voice says UNDER THICK CLOUDS THAT
ACT LIKE A BLANKET,
VENUS IS BURNING WITH
THE ERUPTIONS VOLCANIC.

Volcanoes erupt and overflow with lava.

The female voice says VENUS IS SO HOT
NO ONE CAN VISIT.
IF A BALL LANDED ON IT,
IT WOULD BURN IN A MINUTE.

Polkaroo drops a ball into Venus, and it burns and disappears.

Polkaroo looks sad and says POLKAROO!

Then, he appears in space handling a very hot orange ball.

The female voice says NOW, POLKAROO,
SAY GOODBYE TO SPACE.
HELP PUT THE PLANETS
BACK INTO PLACE.

Polkaroo throws the ball and it turns out to be the planet Venus, which flies back into its place, second from the Sun.

The female voice says BYE-BYE, PLANETS,
BYE-BYE POLKAROO.
POLKAROO SAYS
BYE-BYE TO YOU, TOO.

Polkaroo floats away as he waves his hand.
