As a theme song plays, in animation, JoJo, a little girl with her hair in puff balls, walks along a street, holding hands with Gran Gran, an older woman with her hair in a dark and grey bun. A man walking a dog waves before being pulled away by the dog. It starts to rain. JoJo and Gran Gran hold green umbrellas and wear raincoats. It is springtime and pink blossoms bloom on trees in a park. Butterflies fly in a sunny blue sky. JoJo does a cartwheel and rolls down a hill. Gran Gran rolls down after her. JoJo tosses autumn leaves in the air. A man builds a snowman on a sidewalk. Gran Gran and JoJo walk by in coats and scarves. It is warmer weather and JoJo takes Gran Gran’s hand. Gran Gran opens a front gate.

(Theme music plays)

A person sings, JOJO AND GRAN GRAN
TAKE MY HAND AND COME WITH ME
ON A JOURNEY THROUGH OUR
STREETS
WE'LL SAY HELLO TO EVERYBODY
THAT WE MEET
THROUGH THE YEAR AS SEASONS
CHANGE, EXPLORING EVERY DAY
WE TAKE OUR TIME TO STOP AND
PLAY
AND WHEN THE SPRINGTIME
BLOSSOM TURNS TO SUMMER SUN
JOJO LIKES TO GET OUTSIDE
GRAN GRAN ALWAYS MAKES IT
FUN
WHEN THE AUTUMN RAINFALL TURNS
TO WINTER SNOW
I KNOW A SPECIAL PLACE, A
PLACE WHERE WE CAN GO
TAKE MY HAND, WE'RE HEADING
HOME
WITH JOJO AND GRAN GRAN

Title: It’s Time for Christmas.

Credit: Written by Lucia Haynes.

Gran Gran narrates, IT WAS A COLD
WINTER DAY.
THE TREES WERE BARE AND THE
SNOW WAS FALLING, AND JOJO AND
GRAN GRAN, THAT'S ME, WERE
GETTING READY FOR A CHRISTMAS
PARTY.

Gran Gran says, THERE WE ARE!
WE'RE ALMOST READY FOR
OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY.
HOW IS YOUR DECORATION LOOKING,
JOJO?

JoJo holds up a Christmas bauble painted like her stuffed toy, Panda.

Gran Gran says, AH, WONDERFUL!
WE JUST NEED A CHRISTMAS TREE TO
HANG IT FROM NOW.

(Tablet rings)

(JoJo gasps)

JoJo says, IT'S GREAT GRAN GRAN CALLING!

Great Gran Gran, an older woman wearing big glasses, a yellow T-shirt, and a Santa hat, says on the screen,
JOJO, MY LITTLE SUNSHINE!
HOW LOVELY TO SEE YOU.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.

JoJo replies, MERRY CHRISTMAS, GREAT GRAN
GRAN!

Gran Gran says, HEY-HEY, MERRY CHRISTMAS,
MAMA.

Great Gran Gran says,
I'M CALLING TO SAY THANK YOU
FOR MY CHRISTMAS CARD.
IT ARRIVED THIS MORNING.
I LOVE THE SNOWMAN, JOJO.

Great Gran Gran holds a card to the screen.

(JoJo giggles)

JoJo says, DO YOU MAKE SNOWMEN IN SAINT
LUCIA, GREAT GRAN GRAN?

Great Gran Gran answers,
OH, NO, IT'S MUCH TOO WARM
FOR SNOW IN SAINT LUCIA.
WE HAVE SUNNY CHRISTMASES, AND
HAVE CHRISTMAS STREET PARTIES!

(Great Gran Gran chuckles)

(JoJo gasps)

JoJo says, WE'RE HAVING A CHRISTMAS
PARTY, TOO, BUT NOT ON THE
STREET, INSIDE GRAN GRAN'S
HOUSE.

(Gran Gran chuckles)

Gran Gran says, WITH FRUITCAKE AND HOMEMADE
DECORATIONS.

Great Gran Gran sees JoJo’s decoration from the screen.

Great Gran Gran says, WHOA, LOOK AT THAT!
A PANDA BAUBLE.
HAVE YOU PICKED A CHRISTMAS
TREE TO HANG IT FROM YET?

(Gran Gran chuckles)

Gran Gran answers, NOT YET, MAMA.
WE STILL NEED TO GO TO THE
CHRISTMAS TREE FARM.

JoJo asks, THE CHRISTMAS TREE FARM?

Great Gran Gran says, OH, YES!
YOU CAN PICK YOUR PERFECT TREE
THERE.

Gran Gran says, TALL ENOUGH TO FIT ALL THESE
DECORATIONS ON, BUT SHORT ENOUGH
FOR US TO REACH THE TOP.

JoJo says, WHOA.
LET'S GO TO THE CHRISTMAS TREE
FARM!

In real life, children are speaking.

A girl in a black and white striped shirt says, A CHRISTMAS TREE LOOKS LIKE
VERY COLOURFUL AND ARTISTIC.

A boy wearing an orange shirt says, SOMETIMES THEY'RE A BIT
TRIANGLE SHAPED AND THEY'RE A
LITTLE BIT SPIKY.

A girl wearing a green dress says,
LIGHTS ON A CHRISTMAS TREE
LOOK REALLY MAGICAL, BECAUSE,
LIKE, THEY'RE LIGHTING UP, AND
THEY CAN -- MY LIGHTS ON MY
CHRISTMAS TREE TURN ALL
DIFFERENT COLOURS.

A girl wearing a blue cardigan says, THE LIGHTS ARE ACTUALLY
CALLED FAIRY LIGHTS.

A boy wearing a sweater with rainbow-patterned sleeves replies, YEAH.

The girl in the blue sweater says, AND YOU CAN PUT THEM UP ALL
OVER YOUR HOUSE.

The boy in rainbow-patterned sleeves says, YEAH.

A girl with long straight dark hair says, I DECORATE MY TREE WITH
BALLS, TINSEL.

A girl wearing a white T-shirt says, SOMETIMES YOU PUT A STAR ON
TOP.

A girl wearing a red sweater says, I PUT AN ANGEL ON TOP OF
MINE, 'CAUSE I REALLY DON'T HAVE
A STAR.
IT'S A BIT LIKE AN ICE CREAM
CONE WITH A HEAD ON TOP.

The girl in black and white stripes says, I GET MY CHRISTMAS TREE
FROM, I USED TO, LIKE, GET IT
FROM SHOPS.

A boy wearing a green and white striped shirt says, I GET MY CHRISTMAS TREE FROM
THE ATTIC.

In animation, Gran Gran says, ARE YOU READY TO PICK OUR
PERFECT CHRISTMAS TREE, JOJO?

JoJo says, YES, I CAN'T WAIT!

JoJo sees a picture on the wall.

JoJo gasps and says, WHOA, THAT'S THE TALLEST
CHRISTMAS TREE I'VE EVER SEEN,
GRAN GRAN.

(Gran Gran chuckles)

Gran Gran points and says, YES, THAT'S ME, MUMMY,
DADDY, AND YOU WHEN YOU WERE A
TINY LITTLE BABY.

JoJo whispers, I WANT TO PICK A CHRISTMAS
TREE AS TALL AS THAT ONE, PANDA.

Gran Gran says, COME ON, JOJO, WE CAN REMIND
PEOPLE ABOUT OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY
ON THE WAY TO THE CHRISTMAS TREE
FARM.

Gran Gran and JoJo leave and walk on the snowy sidewalk. They pass Jared, a man with a beard, making a snowman.

Gran Gran waves and says, SEE YOU LATER, JARED.

Jared answers, YES, GRAN GRAN!
WHOA!

Snow falls from an awning and lands on Jared’s head.

(JoJo and Gran Gran laugh)

Jared says, PHEW.

JoJo and Gran Gran are in a school room. Gran Gran takes a cupcake and asks Terrence, a man in a maroon sweater, WILL WE SEE YOU AT OUR
CHRISTMAS PARTY LATER, TERRENCE?

Terrence replies, ABSOLUTELY.

JoJo and Gran Gran walk on the sidewalk near a bus stop, where a man and a boy are waiting, JoJo says to the boy,
SEE YOU LATER AT OUR PARTY,
JACKSON.

Jackson waves at JoJo.

JoJo says, THE CHRISTMAS TREE FARM!

JoJo and Gran Gran walk by a row of snow-topped trees.

Gran Gran looks at one and says, HUH?

Cynthia, a woman with grey hair pulled back and wearing a yellow coat, appears and says, HELLO, JOJO.
HELLO, GRAN GRAN.
OH, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Gran Gran says, HELLO, CYNTHIA.

JoJo says, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
WE'RE LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT
CHRISTMAS TREE.

Cynthia says, OH, ME, TOO.
I'M LOOKING FOR A SHORT TREE
THIS CHRISTMAS.

JoJo asks, WHY AREN'T ALL THE CHRISTMAS
TREES THE SAME SIZE?

Cynthia answers, OH, WELL, THEY'VE ALL BEEN
GROWING FOR DIFFERENT LENGTHS OF
TIME. A SHORT TREE LIKE THIS ONE
HASN'T BEEN GROWING AS LONG AS A
TALL TREE LIKE THIS ONE.
IT CAN TAKE YEARS AND YEARS FOR
A TREE TO GROW TALL.

Cynthia walks towards a short Christmas tree.

Cynthia says, OH, HERE IT IS.
THE PERFECT TREE FOR ME.

JoJo whispers, WE NEED TO FIND A TREE THAT'S
BEEN GROWING FOR A LONG TIME,
PANDA.
THEN, WE'LL FIND ONE AS TALL AS
THE ONE IN GRAN GRAN'S PHOTO.

(The Christmas song “O Tannenbaum” with a calypso rhythm plays)

JoJo, Gran Gran and shoppers walk through the farm looking at different Christmas trees. JoJo shakes her head at trees that are shorter than her. JoJo’s stuffed toy, Panda, sits at the trunk of one tree. Gran Gran finds Panda. JoJo and Gran Gran walk between rows of trees. JoJo stops and looks up.

JoJo says, GRAN GRAN!
THIS TREE IS AS TALL AS THE ONE
IN YOUR PHOTO.

Gran Gran says, OH, YES, THAT TREE MUST HAVE
BEEN GROWING FOR A VERY LONG
TIME.

Cynthia, carrying a wrapped-up tree, says, YEARS AND YEARS.

JoJo whispers, THIS IS THE TALLEST TREE IN
THE CHRISTMAS TREE FARM, PANDA.

JoJo says to Gran Gran, CAN WE PICK IT, PLEASE?

(Gran Gran laughs)

Gran Gran answers, I'M NOT SURE THAT TREE WOULD
FIT THROUGH MY FRONT DOOR, JOJO.

JoJo says, BUT ME AND PANDA WOULD LIKE
A TREE AS TALL AS THE ONE IN
YOUR PHOTO.

Gran Gran answers, MM, TALL TREES ARE NICE TO
LOOK AT, JOJO, BUT THEY'RE NOT
PERFECT FOR US.

JoJo looks down and says, AW.

Gran Gran says, WE NEED A TREE THAT'S TALL
ENOUGH TO FIT ALL OF OUR
DECORATIONS ON AND SHORT ENOUGH
FOR US TO REACH THE TOP.

(Gran Gran gasps)

Gran Gran stops at a tree and says, LIKE THIS ONE.

JoJo says, IT'S PERFECT.

Gran Gran, wearing a party hat, stands by a decorated tree.

Gran Gran says, SEE?
THIS TREE IS TALL ENOUGH FOR ALL
OUR DECORATIONS, AND SHORT
ENOUGH TO REACH THE TOP.

Party guests gathered in Gran Gran’s living room say, PERFECT!

(Guests chuckle)

Great Gran Gran says from the tablet screen, NOW, LET'S GET THIS
CHRISTMAS PARTY STARTED!

JoJo cheers, WHOO!

A record player plays.

(Christmas song “Jingle Bells” with calypso rhythm plays)

The party guests -- JoJo’s parents, Jackson and his father, Jared, Cynthia, and Terrence -- all smile and dance to the music.

Gran Gran announces, MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE.

All the guests reply, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

In real life, a young girl wearing a red winter coat, arrives at a tree farm with a woman wearing a blue coat.

The young girl says, TODAY, WE'RE GOING TO
GET A CHRISTMAS TREE.

The young girl says, I'M LOOKING FOR A BEAUTIFUL
TALL TREE.

The young girl and the woman greet Tony, a bald man wearing a green fleece.

The young girl says, THIS IS TONY, HE'S GOING TO
HELP US FIND THE PERFECT
CHRISTMAS TREE.
HI, I WOULD LIKE A BIG TREE,
PLEASE.

Tony says, SHOULD WE GO AND TAKE A
LOOK?

The young girl says, YEAH.

Tony says, YEAH?

Tony, the young girl and the woman stop.

The young girl says, THIS TREE IS TINY.

Tony explains, AH, WELL, THE REASON THIS
ONE IS TINY IS BECAUSE IT'S ONLY
ONE YEAR OLD.

The young girl says,
THIS TREE HAS ONLY BEEN
GROWING FOR ONE YEAR, IT'S NOT
VERY TALL.
IT'S ONLY UP TO MY KNEES.

The woman says, I THINK IT'S REALLY CUTE.

Tony says, BUT YOU WANT SOMETHING
BIGGER THAN THIS?

The young girl points and says, YEAH, SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

(Tony and the woman gasp)

The woman says, I DON'T THINK THIS WILL
FIT IN OUR HOUSE.

The young girl says,
THIS TREE HAS BEEN GROWING
FOR 10 YEARS.
IT'S A LOT TALLER THAN ME.

The young girl asks, WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE?

Tony replies, THAT ONE'S ABOUT TWO YEARS
OLD.

The young girl says, THIS ONLY COMES TO THE TOP
OF MY LEGS.

Tony says, LET'S KEEP LOOKING.

The woman says,
EVERY YEAR, THE TREES GET A
LITTLE BIT TALLER.

The young girl stops and says, HIS TREE'S JUST A LITTLE BIT
TALLER THAN ME!

Tony says, WELL, THAT ONE'S A FIVE-YEAR
OLD NORWAY SPRUCE.

The young girl says, THIS CHRISTMAS TREE HAS BEEN
GROWING FOR FIVE YEARS.
I LOVE IT. TONY IS GOING TO DIG IT UP AND
PUT IT IN A POT SO WE CAN TAKE
IT HOME.

Tony digs up the tree and puts it through a short tube. He wraps the tree in mesh and ties it up. Tony hands the tree to the young girl and the woman.

Tony says, THERE YOU GO, HERE'S YOUR
TREE.

The woman says, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

The young girl says, THANK YOU.

The young girl and the woman say, HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

Tony says, AND HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU,
TOO. BYE!

The young girl and the woman say, BYE-BYE!

The young girl says,
NOW, WE'RE GOING TO DECORATE
THE TREE.

The woman sits down and says, RHIONN, YOUR FRIENDS ARE
HERE.

Rhionn, the young girl, says, HI.

A girl in a red sweater says, HI!

Rhionn says, MY FRIENDS ARE HERE TO HELP.

Rhionn and her friends decorate the Christmas tree with different ornaments.

The woman says, GIRLS, IT LOOKS AMAZING.
DO YOU WANT ME TO TURN THE
LIGHTS ON?

The children answer, YES, PLEASE.

Rhionn says, MUMMY, CAN YOU HELP ME PUT
THE STAR ON THE TOP?

The woman, Rhionn’s mum, says, OF COURSE I CAN.

The girl in the red sweater looks up at the tree and says, WOW, IT LOOKS AMAZING.

Rhionn says, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Her friends reply, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Rhionn says, I LOVE OUR TREE.

In animation, Gran Gran hangs a picture.

JoJo’s mother, wearing a white top, says, OH, WHAT A GREAT CHRISTMAS
PARTY.
I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW TALL YOU'VE
GOTTEN, JOJO.

JoJo answers, THAT'S BECAUSE I'VE BEEN
GROWING FOR A VERY LONG TIME,
MUMMY, JUST LIKE THAT TREE.

(Gran Gran chuckles)

Gran Gran says, FOR YEARS AND YEARS.

JoJo says, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

JoJo’s mother, and her father, a man with a beard and glasses, huddle around JoJo and Gran Gran.

JoJo’s mother, father and Gran Gran say, MERRY CHRISTMAS, JOJO.

(Theme music plays)
