Green text reads: JoJo and Gran Gran.

(Music playing)

An animated blue front door opens, and a cartoon man and a woman smile. JoJo runs outside and greets Gran Gran.

Singing, JOJO AND GRAN GRAN. TAKE MY HAND AND COME WITH ME

JoJo and Gran Gran walk off hand in hand on a city sidewalk. A person walking a dog waves before being pulled away by the dog.

Singing, ON A JOURNEY THROUGH OUR STREETS WE'LL SAY HELLO TO EVERYBODY THAT WE MEET.

It is raining and JoJo and Gran Gran hold umbrellas and wear raincoats. JoJo jumps in a puddle.

Singing, THROUGH THE YEAR, AS SEASONS CHANGE EXPLORING EVERY DAY TAKE OUR TIME TO STOP AND PLAY.

It is springtime and there are pink blossoms on trees in a park. Butterflies fly up toward the sun. JoJo does a cartwheel on green grass. She rolls down a hill, holding the panda. Gran Gran rolls down after her.

Singing, AND WHEN THE SPRINGTIME BLOSSOM TURN TO SUMMER SUN JOJO LIKES TO GET OUTSIDE GRAN GRAN ALWAYS MAKES IT FUN.

JoJo tosses autumn leaves in the air. It snows and a person on the sidewalk makes a snowman. Gran Gran and JoJo walk by in coats and scarves.

Singing, WHEN THE AUTUMN RAINFALL TURNS TO WINTER SNOW I KNOW A SPECIAL PLACE, A PLACE WHERE WE CAN GO.

It is warmer weather and JoJo wears a light jacket and a backpack. She takes Gran Gran’s hand. Gran Gran opens a front gate to JoJo’s home.

Singing, TAKE MY HAND, WE'RE HEADING HOME WITH JOJO AND GRAN GRAN

JoJo and Gran Gran smile.

A title reads: JoJo & Gran Gran.

Text reads: It’s Time to Spot the Birds. Written by Jess Parker.

JoJo narrates, "IT'S TIME TO SPOT THE BIRDS."

Gran Gran narrates, IT WAS A COLD WINTER MORNING. THE TREES WERE BARE, AND THE AIR WAS FROSTY. AND JOJO AND GRAN GRAN-- THAT'S ME-- WERE IN THE PARK.

Gran Gran and JoJo sit at a table at an outdoor café. They wear coats and scarves.

Gran Gran says, BRR.

She sips from a mug.

(JoJo laughing)

JoJo says, BRR.

A bird lands on an open backpack next to JoJo’s chair.

(Chirping)

(Gasping)

JoJo whispers, GRAN GRAN, LOOK. ON MY NATURE TICK BOOK.

(Chirping)

Gran Gran whispers, THAT'S A ROBIN, JOJO.

(Gasping)

The robin hops onto the table.

JoJo pulls a notebook from the backpack.

JoJo whispers, ROBINS ARE MY FAVOURITE BIRDS, GRAN GRAN. I REALLY LIKE THEIR RED TUMMIES. OOH.

(Gasping)

The robin flies away.

(Laughing)

JoJo says, BYE, ROBIN! WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE BIRD, GRAN GRAN?

Gran Gran says, HMM. MY FAVOURITE BIRDS ARE SWALLOWS.

(Music playing)

Two live-action children look through their hands like binoculars.

A child with long brown hair says, OOH.

A child with short black hair says, I'VE FOUND A BIRD.

The brown-haired child asks, WHERE?

The black-haired child says, LOOKS LIKE IT'S A PIGEON.

A child in a blue cardigan asks, WHEN YOU WERE BIRD-SPOTTING, DID YOU SEE A DUCK?

A child in a striped hoodie says, YEAH.

The child in the blue cardigan asks, WAS IT GOING, "QUACK, QUACK, QUACK, QUACK"?

The child in the striped hoodie says, MORE LIKE A SQUAWK, BECAUSE I THINK IT WAS A SWAN.

(Child squawking)

The child in the striped hoodie says, LIKE—

(Squawking louder)

(Laughing)

A child in a blue shirt says, SOME PEOPLE MIGHT USE A BOOK, A BIRD BOOK, AND THEN THEY MIGHT TICK OFF BIRDS IF THEY SEE THEM.

A child with brown hair in a ponytail says, MIGRATION IS WHERE ALL THE BIRDS GO SOMEWHERE HOT WHEN IT'S WINTER. AND THEN THEY FLY BACK WHEN IT'S SUMMER.

(Children squawking)

(Laughing)

(Music playing)

JoJo and Gran Gran walk in the park.

JoJo says, I'VE NEVER SEEN A SWALLOW BEFORE, GRAN GRAN.

Gran Gran says, OH, THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL, JOJO. AND YOU KNOW YOU'VE SPOTTED ONE IF YOU SEE ITS FORKED TAIL. SEE?

Gran Gran points to a picture of a swallow in the notebook.

JoJo says, LET'S TRY AND SPOT A SWALLOW, PANDA.

JoJo uses her hands like binoculars. Ducks swim in a pond.

JoJo ays, HMM. COME ON, GRAN GRAN!

JoJo and Gran Gran stand on a bridge over the pond.

(Quacking)

(Laughing)

JoJo looks through her binocular hands at a playground. Jaxon waves from the top of a slide.

Jaxon says, HI, JOJO!

JoJo says, HI, JAXON!

JoJo walks along a path. Gran Gran follows.

JoJo says, HMM. I CAN'T FIND A SWALLOW ANYWHERE, GRAN GRAN. I'VE LOOKED IN THE SKY. I'VE LOOKED IN THE TREES. I'VE EVEN LOOKED OVER THE BRIDGE.

Gran Gran says, OH, WE WON'T SEE A SWALLOW TODAY, JOJO, BECAUSE THEY ALL FLY AWAY IN THE WINTER.

JoJo asks, ALL OF THEM?

Gran Gran says, ALL OF THEM.

JoJo asks, BUT WHY, GRAN GRAN?

Gran Gran says, WELL, SWALLOWS NEED TO GO TO A WARMER COUNTRY FOR A BIT. IT'S TOO COLD FOR THEM HERE. IT'S CALLED MIGRATION.

JoJo says, OH. MIGRATION.

(Music playing)

JoJo looks out a window. She holds her notebook.

JoJo asks, WILL THE SWALLOWS COME BACK SOON?

Gran Gran says, WELL, THEY SHOULD BE BACK IN A FEW MONTHS, IN THE SPRING, WHEN IT'S A BIT WARMER.

Gran Gran sits on a couch in the living room. She points to a picture on a wall. It shows palm trees and a beach.

(Gasping)

JoJo says, SO THE SWALLOWS ARE ON HOLIDAY!

(Both laughing)

Gran Gran says, WELL, THE SWALLOWS LIVE IN BOTH PLACES. MAYBE THEY'RE ON HOLIDAY WHEN THEY COME HERE!

JoJo says, I HAVE AN IDEA. COME ON, PANDA!

JoJo grabs her stuffed panda.

JoJo sits at a kitchen table with coloured pencils and a piece of paper.

Gran Gran asks, OOH, WHAT ARE YOU MAKING, JOJO?

JoJo says, IT'S A SURPRISE, GRAN GRAN. BUT I THINK YOU'LL LIKE IT.

(Music playing)

JoJo colours the paper blue. She uses a sponge to paint a yellow sun. JoJo uses a glue stick to put cotton balls on the paper as clouds.

JoJo says, HMM. FINISHED. GRAN GRAN, CAN WE GO INTO THE GARDEN, PLEASE? IT'S FOR THE SURPRISE.

Gran Gran says, OH. OKAY, JOJO.

(Laughing)

Gran Gran and JoJo stand in the backyard, wearing coats.

JoJo says, DON'T LOOK YET, GRAN GRAN!

Gran Gran says, I'M NOT LOOKING!

JoJo climbs on a bench and hangs her picture on a bird feeder.

JoJo says, HMM. OKAY. NOW.

(Gasping)

Gran Gran turns. A picture of a sunny sky and beach is behind the bird feeder.

JoJo says, I'VE MADE A HOLIDAY FOR THE SWALLOWS! THIS IS THE BEACH... AND THIS IS THE SEA!

Gran Gran says, IT LOOKS AMAZING, JOJO!

JoJo says, THE SKY IS BLUE, TOO, BECAUSE IT'S NICE AND SUNNY. THE BEST HOLIDAY EVER.

Gran Gran says, AH, IT CERTAINLY LOOKS LIKE A GOOD PLACE TO BE ON HOLIDAY, JOJO.

JoJo says, SO NOW, THE SWALLOWS DON'T NEED TO GO AWAY FOR WINTER. THEY CAN HAVE A HOLIDAY HERE.

Gran Gran says, OH, JOJO, THIS IS REALLY VERY BEAUTIFUL. BUT THE SWALLOWS WILL STILL FIND IT TOO CHILLY OUT HERE.

JoJo says, HMM. I KNOW!

The picture is propped up on the kitchen table with Panda in front of it.

JoJo says, IT'S MUCH WARMER IN GRAN GRAN'S KITCHEN, PANDA. THE SWALLOWS CAN COME IN HERE.

Gran Gran says, BIRDS MIGRATE FOR OTHER REASONS, TOO, JOJO.

JoJo says, OH.

Gran Gran says, THEY MIGHT LOOK FOR MORE FOOD OR SOMEWHERE SAFE TO LAY THEIR EGGS. WHY DON'T WE KEEP YOUR HOLIDAY UNTIL THE SWALLOWS COME BACK IN SPRING? THEY CAN ENJOY IT THEN.

JoJo says, BUT THAT'S AGES AWAY.

JoJo says, HMM.

(Birds chirping)

Gran Gran looks out a window at the bird feeder

Gran Gran says, JOJO, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A GRAN GRAN PLAN.

(Music playing)

Gran Gran fills up a bird feeder.

Gran Gran says, YOU'LL NEED YOUR NATURE TICK BOOK, JOJO. NOW, YOU WAIT HERE WHILE I CARRY THIS BIRD FOOD OUTSIDE.

(Door opening)

JoJo looks out the window. Gran Gran hangs the smaller bird feeder on the larger one.

(Door closing)

Gran Gran walks back into the kitchen.

Gran Gran whispers, WE ALL NEED TO BE VERY QUIET AND VERY STILL, OKAY?

JoJo whispers, OKAY.

Gran Gran whispers LOOK THERE, JOJO.

(Chirping)

A blackbird lands on the feeder.

(Gasping)

More birds fly to the feeders.

JoJo says, WHOA! THERE ARE SO MANY BIRDS, GRAN GRAN! AND THERE'S MY FAVOURITE! ROBIN!

(Chirping)

Gran Gran says, SWALLOWS FLY TO WARMER COUNTRIES IN THE WINTER. BUT LOTS OF BIRDS STAY HERE ALL YEAR ROUND. SO UNTIL THE SWALLOWS COME BACK IN THE SPRING, WE CAN SPOT LOTS OF DIFFERENT BIRDS IN THE GARDEN.

JoJo marks of birds in her notebook.

(Birds calling)

Live-action ducks and seagulls float on water.

A child narrates, TODAY WE'RE GOING BIRD-SPOTTING.

Two children in coats walk through a gate.

The children say, HELLO. HI!

The child narrates, THIS IS OUR FRIEND NICK.

Nick wears a blue jacket.

Nick asks, HAVE YOU COME TO DO A BIT OF BIRD SPOTTING?

A blonde-haired child says, YES.

Nick says, OKAY, WELL, HERE'S YOUR LISTS FOR THE DAY.

Nick has papers with pictures of birds on them. There are empty boxes next to the birds.

A black-haired child says, WE'RE GOING TO TRY AND SPOT BIRDS.

The blonde-haired child says, YEAH, AND WE'VE GOT BINOCULARS, TOO.

Nick says, EXCELLENT.

(Chirping)

Nick asks, CAN YOU MATCH THAT PICTURE TO THE BIRDS OUT THERE? CAN YOU SEE IT?

The blonde-haired child says, YEAH.

Nick says, GOT THE RED BEAKS. DO YOU WANT TO HAVE A LOOK?

The blonde-haired child looks through binoculars at a duck.

The blonde-haired child says, THERE'S BROWN ON THE BACK AS WELL.

The black-haired child narrates, THAT DUCK HAS A RED BEAK AND WHITE, BROWN, AND BLACK FEATHERS. THAT BIRD IS CALLED A SHELL DUCK.

The blonde-haired child narrates, I'M GOING TO SPOT THE NEXT BIRD WITH NICK.

Ducks nestle together on a shore.

(Quacking)

Nick and the blonde-haired child walk inside a building and go to a window.

The blonde-haired child says, WOW. LOOK AT ALL THOSE BIRDS.

Nick says, I KNOW, AND WE NEED TO FIND A COOT. SO, WE'RE LOOKING FOR A BLACK BIRD WITH A WHITE PIECE ON THE TOP OF ITS HEAD.

The blonde-haired child looks through binoculars at a black water bird with a white beak.

The blonde-haired child says, I CAN SEE A COOT.

Nick says, SHALL WE TICK THAT OFF THE LIST, THEN?

The blonde-haired child says, YEAH. IT HAS A BLACK BODY WITH A WHITE BEAK.

(Quacking)

Two large swans swim among ducks.

The black-haired child says, LOOK, IT'S A SWAN.

Nick says, IT'S A HOOPER SWAN. AND IT COMES ALL THE WAY FROM ICELAND IN THE WINTER TO FIND FOOD.

The blonde-haired child says, THAT IS A LONG WAY TO FLY. THAT ONE AT THE VERY END THERE HAS A DIFFERENT COLOURED BEAK. IT'S ORANGE.

Nick says, YES, THAT'S A MUTE SWAN YOU'RE LOOKING AT. AND IT HAS THAT REDDY-ORANGE BEAK, AND THAT LIVES HERE YEAR-ROUND. IT DOESN'T MIGRATE, WHEREAS THE OTHER ONE WITH THE YELLOW BEAK, THAT'S THE ONE THAT MIGRATES ALL THE WAY FROM ICELAND TO HERE.

The blonde-haired child narrates, AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR, MIGRATING BIRDS FLY TO DIFFERENT COUNTRIES TO FIND FOOD.

Nick says, I THINK YOU CAN TICK IT OFF THE LIST.

The black-haired child narrates, WE LOVED SPOTTING BIRDS.

(Music playing)

Gran Gran and JoJo sit on a couch.

JoJo says, I KNOW YOUR FAVOURITE BIRDS ARE SWALLOWS, GRAN GRAN. BUT I LIKE THE BIRDS THAT LIVE HERE ALL THE TIME.

Gran Gran says, AND WHEN THE SPRINGTIME ARRIVES, WE CAN SEE THE SWALLOWS AND THEIR BEAUTIFUL TAILS.

JoJo says, I LOVE YOU, GRAN GRAN.

Gran Gran says, I LOVE YOU, TOO, JOJO.

Gran Gran and JoJo hug.
