Tom says, NO, BRINGING SNACKS.

Leroy says, OH, YEAH, SNACKS!

Tom says, CARAMEL WAFERS. WHEN YOU'RE IN A BAND, IT'S IMPORTANT TO WORK THINGS OUT AND SHARE THINGS EQUALLY.

Leroy says, HA-HA! LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE HURT YOURSELF.

(They giggle)

Norman says, YEAH, IT DOES!

(Door creaks)

Delia swings the bedroom door open. She walks inside and takes the magazines.

Leroy says, OH!

Norman says, UGH...

Delia says, DON'T GO IN MY ROOM AGAIN.

Tom says, OH, COME ON!

Delia asks, AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE PRACTISING?

She leaves and shuts the door behind her.

(Door creaks)

Tom says, WE ARE! DELIA DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING. WE'RE GONNA CONTINUE BAND PRACTICE. WHY DON'T YOU CATCH UP WITH... DRAW IT!

Text reads: Draw it.

Tom says, IT'S LIZ! SHE WRITES AND DRAWS ALL THE TOM GATES BOOKS.

Liz, a live-action person with long reddish-brown hair, sits at a table with a blank piece of paper in front of her.

Liz says, DOGZOMBIES HAVE GOT A BRAND-NEW POSTER, AND I'M GONNA SHOW YOU HOW TO DRAW IT. SO, FIRST OF ALL, LET'S DRAW A DOG ZOMBIE.

Liz uses a black marker to draw on the paper.

(Music playing)

Liz says, START WITH THE EARS, SO TWO LITTLE POINTS FOR EARS. THEN I DO ONE BIG EYE AND ONE SMALLER EYE.

Liz draws a dog standing on its hind legs.

Liz continues, LITTLE TAIL. LET'S ADD SOME SCARS. OK, SO THIS DOG ZOMBIE HAS GOT A GUITAR.

Tom says, AMAZING!

Liz says, AND NOW I'M GONNA DRAW THE DOGZOMBIE LOGO AT THE TOP.

Liz draws “DOGZOMBIE” on the top of the page.

Liz says, SO, I'M JUST GONNA ADD SOME SHADING AROUND THE LETTERS. THIS JUST MAKES THE LOGO REALLY STAND OUT.

Liz looks up.

Liz says, LET'S ADD THE BAND MEMBERS.

Tom says, I LOVE THIS BIT!

Liz says, LET'S START WITH TOM.

Liz draws Tom’s face in a circle under the letters.

Liz continues, THERE'S TOM. LET'S DRAW NORMAN.

She adds a Norman’s face to another circle. He has glasses and hair that sticks up from his head.

Liz says, LET'S DRAW LEROY. LEROY'S GOT A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT-SHAPED FACE. MORE OF AN OVAL SHAPE. AND LET'S DRAW DEREK NEXT. AND NOW I'M GONNA FILL IN THE REST OF THE POSTER WITH SOME DESIGN.

(Music playing)

Liz covers the rest of the page with curving lines.

Liz says, THERE WE ARE, ALL DONE. YOU CAN LEAVE IT IN BLACK AND WHITE IF YOU WANT TO, BUT I THINK I'M GONNA PUT SOME COLOUR ON THIS, COS IT MAKES IT REALLY STAND OUT.

Liz colours the guitar yellow. She adds blue and red to the poster.

Tom says, I LOVE THE COLOURS!

Liz says, THERE YOU GO - ALL DONE. YOUR VERY OWN DOGZOMBIES POSTER.

Tom tosses out socks.

Tom says, NO! HANG ON!

Tom turns. He wears dark sunglasses.

(Rock guitar riff)

All say, PERFECT!

(Cheering)

The bugs play onstage to a large crowd. One bug tries to stage dive, but the crowd parts and the bug lands on the floor.

(Rock music plays)

(Clatter)

The bug wheezes, OOH! AT NUMBER TWO...

Tom unrolls a Dogzombie poster.

Tom says, AWESOME POSTERS.

(Dog zombie howls)

Norman says, LOVE IT!

Derek says, THAT'S BRILLIANT!

Leroy says, THAT'S SO COOL! WE SHOULD PUT THEM EVERYWHERE. HOW MANY HAVE WE GOT?

Tom lifts up his sunglasses.

Tom says, UM... JUST THIS ONE.

Leroy says, OH.

Norman says, WE COULD STICK IT TO MY BACK. I'LL WALK ROUND THE SCHOOL!

The others look at Norman and pause.

All say, GENIUS!

Tom says, WE'RE GONNA GET THIS POSTER UP ON NORMAN'S BACK. WHY DON'T YOU GUYS CHECK OUT... MAKE IT!

(Popping)

(Clacking)

A castanet has a dog zombie cover.

Derek narrates, IF YOU WANNA JOIN DOGZOMBIES, THEN YOU'LL NEED A COOL INSTRUMENT. YOU WILL NEED...

Objects appear as Derek names them.

Derek narrates, ONE PIECE OF LARGE WHITE CARD. A3 WORKS WELL. TWO SMALLER PIECES OF CARD - ONE RED, ONE WHITE. SCISSORS...

A tiny monster pops up, holding a sign that read: Be careful with scissors!

A monster says, BE CAREFUL WITH SCISSORS!

Derek continues, STRONG TAPE, A STRIP OF CARDBOARD, A RULER, SOME PENS AND TWO OLD BOTTLE TOPS.

A striped bug walks over, carrying a glue stick.

The striped bug asks, AND A GLUE STICK?

Derek says, YES, AND A GLUE STICK.

(Cheerful music plays)

The striped bug says, OHHH... YE-E-E-ES!

(Party horn blows)

Derek says, OH, BLESS HIM!

Tom asks, GOT ALL THAT?

A green monster holds a timer over its head.

(Ticking)

Tom says, HERE WE GO! LET'S GET MAKING!

(Klaxon)

(Music playing)

Derek narrates, TAKE YOUR BIG SHEET OF PAPER AND PLACE YOUR CARDBOARD STRIP IN THE CENTRE. DRAW A LINE DOWN THE CENTRE, LIKE THIS.

A dotted line runs down the centre of the paper.

Derek continues, NOW DRAW A SHAPE LIKE THIS ON ONE SIDE, MAKING SURE IT GOES ROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARDBOARD.

A spoon-like shape is drawn around one side of the cardboard.

Derek narrates, THEN DRAW THESE SHAPES. THESE WILL BE YOUR DOG ZOMBIE'S EYES. FOLD THE PAPER SO YOU CAN STILL SEE YOUR DRAWING ON THE OUTSIDE, LIKE THIS.

The paper is folded in half.

Derek continues, CUT OUT YOUR MAIN SHAPE, CUTTING THROUGH BOTH SIDES OF THE PAPER AT ONCE. BE CAREFUL NOT TO CUT ALONG THE JOIN!

The large spoon shape is cut out.

Derek continues, PUT THAT TO THE SIDE, THEN UNFOLD YOUR PAPER AND CUT OUT THE OTHER SHAPES.

(Cutting sounds)

Derek narrates, YOU ONLY NEED THEM TO BE ON ONE SIDE THIS TIME. TAKE YOUR SMALLER WHITE PAPER AND DRAW THREE LINES, LIKE THIS.

Three parallel lines are drawn on one edge of the paper.

Derek continues, DRAW A ZIGZAG PATTERN UP THE CENTRE AND THEN ON THE SIDES. CUT OUT LIKE THIS SO YOU HAVE TWO SIDES, AND THEN FOLD ONE SIDE UP.

The long narrow papers are folded.

Derek narrates, TAKE YOUR RED PAPER, AND CUT OUT TWO TONGUE SHAPES, LIKE THIS. BRING YOUR MAIN HEAD SHAPE BACK AND GLUE YOUR CARDBOARD TO IT. TAKE YOUR ZIGZAG STRIPS AND BEND ROUND TO THEN GLUE TO EACH SIDE TO MAKE TEETH. THEN STICK THE RED SHAPE OVER THE CARDBOARD TO CREATE THE MOUTH. FOLD THE PAPER AND CARDBOARD OVER TO MAKE THE HEAD.

(Whistle blows)

The green monster holds a sign with an exclamation mark on it.

Derek says, TOP TIP - USE A RULER TO HELP YOU BEND THE CARD. BRING BACK YOUR OTHER SHAPES AND DRAW YOUR EYES AND EARS, LEAVING A LITTLE SECTION TO GLUE THEM ON.

(Popping)

The eyes and ears are glued onto the head.

Derek continues, USE YOUR PENS TO ADD SOME FINAL DETAILS. ONCE YOU ARE DONE, UP YOUR DOG ZOMBIE'S MOUTH AND USE YOUR STRONG TAPE TO ATTACH YOUR BOTTLE TOPS. AND YOU ARE READY TO ROCK AND ROLL!

(Clacking)

The dog zombie head clacks together.

Derek narrates, MAKE DIFFERENT ANIMALS TO MAKE A CASTANET BAND!

(Clacking)

Bug and crocodile castanets appear.

Frank says, EH? I THOUGHT IT WAS NEXT WEEK!

Norman says, YEAH, IT IS NEXT WEEK.

Tom says, WHAT? WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY IT WAS NEXT WEEK?!

Norman says, I WAS GOING TO, THEN I GOT DISTRACTED... BY THE SNACKS.

Leroy says, THEY WERE PRETTY DISTRACTING.

Derek says, NOW WE'VE GOT TIME FOR ANOTHER REHEARSAL!

Mr. Fingle asks, WHY DON'T YOU REHEARSE AT OUR PLACE?

Derek says, DAD, YOU'RE NOT JOINING THE BAND.

Mr. Fingle says, YEAH, I KNOW.

(Chuckles)
