An animated town is on a green hill.

A narrator says, IN THIS LITTLE TOWN LIVES A KITTEN NAMED COOKIE…

An animated cat in a sailor hat sits in a boat on water. A cat in stocking cap is pulled off the ground by a kite.

The narrator continues, HIS BIG BROTHER, PUDDING, AND THEIR LITTLE SISTER, CANDY.

A cat wearing a red bow skips rope. The three cats stand together. More cats appear.

The narrator says, LOTS OF OTHER KITTENS LIVE HERE, TOO. COOKIE, CANDY, AND PUDDING, KID-E-CATS.

A title reads: KID-E-CATS

All say, WE'RE CUTE!

Candy says, BUT I'M CUTER.

All say, ME-WOW!

Episode title: The Little Lost Beetle

The narrator says, ONE SPRING DAY, IT WAS VERY WARM OUTSIDE.

The kittens eat at a table with Mom.

Mom says, AH. OOH! IT'S SO STUFFY IN HERE TODAY. WE COULD USE SOME FRESH AIR.

Mom stands and opens a round window.

(Wind blowing)

Mom says, AH. MUCH BETTER, DON'T YOU THINK? OH!

(Buzzing)

A bug flies inside.

Pudding says, THAT'S CALLED A MAY BEETLE. THERE'S TONS OF THEM OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW.

Candy says, IT MUST HAVE GOTTEN LOST AND ACCIDENTALLY GOT INTO OUR HOUSE.

Mom says, YES. I GUESS I SHOULD PUT IN OUR WINDOW SCREENS. SO, I'LL GO GET THEM FROM THE BASEMENT. MEANWHILE, YOU KITTENS CAN HELP ME BY FINDING A WAY TO LET THE BEETLE OUT.

The beetle flies past the table.

Cookie says, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A BLAST.

The kittens cry, SO AWESOME!

All singing, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW!

Cookie draws a beetle on a whiteboard in the kittens’ bedroom.

Cookie says, OUR MISSION IS TO CATCH THE MAY BEETLE, AND THEN GET HIM SAFELY BACK OUT OF THE HOUSE.

Candy asks, CAN'T WE JUST OPEN UP THE DOOR AND LET HIM LEAVE BY HIMSELF?

Candy imagines herself opening the front door. The beetle flies out.

Pudding says, BUT WHAT IF IT DOESN'T LEAVE AND OTHER BEETLES COME INSIDE INSTEAD?

Pudding imagines Candy opening the door. This time a swarm of beetles fly into the house.

Candy says, HUH? OH!

The fantasy ends. Cookie cleans the whiteboard.

Cookie says, IT'S TIME TO LAUNCH OPERATION BEETLE TRAP.

(Music playing)

Cookie draws a box on the whiteboard.

Cookie says, AND WE'LL USE SOME YUMMY CANDY FOR THE BAIT.

Cookie unwraps a candy and sets it under a box propped up with a pen attached to a string. The kittens hide behind a couch.

The narrator says, THE KID-E-CATS WATCHED AND WAITED FOR THE BEETLE TO FLY INTO THEIR TRAP.

(Buzzing)

The beetle circles above the box.

Cookie whispers, JUST LAND ON THE CANDY. COME ON. HE'S THERE. NOW, PULL!

The kittens yank the string. The beetle flies away before the box drops.

(Buzzing)

Pudding asks, WELL, SHOULD WE JUST TRY AGAIN?

Cookie says, NAH. IT DOESN'T WORK.

Cookie stands at the whiteboard.

Cookie says, TIME TO LAUNCH OPERATION BEETLE HUNT.

Cookie draws a kitten holding a net. The drawing moves and catches the beetle in the net.

Cookie says, HA-HA!

The kittens chase the beetle, carrying the net.

(Everyone laughing)

The beetle lands on a plant. Cookie swings the net, and the beetle dodges it. The kittens run after the flying beetle. They chase it through the kitchen. The beetle lands on a vase. It flies away as the net drops. The vase wobbles and Candy runs to catch it.

(Buzzing)

They run downstairs after the beetle. It flies upstairs and Cookie and Candy run after it. Pudding follows, looking tired.

(Panting)

The beetle balances on a ball in the bedroom. It rolls under a bunkbed. Cookie dives under it.

(Grunting)

Cookie says, I'M STUCK!

Candy and Pudding pull him out by his feet.

(Buzzing)

Candy says, LOOK. THERE!

(Buzzing)

The beetle lands on the drawing of the beetle on the whiteboard. It takes flight again. Cookie swings the net. It lands on Candy’s head.

Cookie says, HA. OOPS. SORRY.

They run downstairs. Pudding carries a box. Cookie and Pudding crawl under the table. Beneath the tablecloth the table wobbles and shakes.

Cookie cries, WHOA. GET IT, PUDDING!

(Grunting)

Pudding says, I GOT IT.

The beetle flies out from under the table.

Pudding says, HUH?

Cookie crawls out with the box on his head.

Cookie says, THAT BEETLE IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO CATCH.

(Buzzing)

The beetle lands on the couch. Candy picks up the box.

Candy says, AH.

She creeps up behind it and drops the box over the beetle.

Candy says, I GOT IT!

Cookie says, CANDY, AMAZING JOB.

Pudding says, HMM. IT'S GONE QUIET. COULD IT BE ASLEEP?

Cookie lifts up the box and the beetle flies out.

(Buzzing)

The beetle bangs against the window.

Cookie says, OH? SILLY BEETLE. CAN'T IT TELL THAT THE WINDOW IS CLOSED?

(Buzzing)

The beetle falls on its back on the floor.

Candy says, LOOK. I DON'T THINK THAT IT CAN TURN OVER.

Pudding says, WELL, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN BEETLES LAND ON THEIR BACKS, YOU KNOW.

Cookie says, I FEEL BAD FOR IT. I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE IN THAT BEETLE'S PLACE, AND I WOULD NOT WANT ANYONE HUNTING ME.

Cookie imagines a giant beetle catching him in a net.

(Giggling)

Candy says, I HAVE A REALLY GOOD IDEA. IT'S TIME TO LAUNCH OPERATION BEETLE RESCUE. WE'LL HELP THE BEETLE GET SAFELY BACK OUTSIDE.

Candy lowers the pen to the beetle. It clings to the pen and Candy carries it out the front door.

The narrator says, NOW, ALL THE KITTENS HAD TO DO WAS SET THE BEETLE FREE OUT OF THE HOUSE.

The beetle flies away.

The kitten cry, SO AWESOME!

The kittens singing, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW!

Mom puts a round screen over the open window.

The narrator says, IF BEETLES GET LOST AND ACCIDENTALLY END UP IN YOUR HOUSE, INSTEAD OF HUNTING THEM, IT'S BETTER TO HELP THEM FIND THEIR WAY BACK OUTSIDE.

The beetle flies by the house.
