A cat wearing a red bow skips rope. The three cats stand together. More cats appear.
The narrator says, LOTS OF OTHER KITTENS LIVE HERE, TOO. COOKIE, CANDY, AND PUDDING, KID-E-CATS.

All say, WE'RE CUTE!
Candy says, BUT I'M CUTER.

It is daytime at the kittens’ house.
The narrator says, ONE DAY, DADDY WAS VERY, VERY BUSY.
Daddy, a large orange cat wearing a blue shirt and striped tie, climbs out of a door in the floor. He carries boards.
(Chuckling)
The kittens cry, DADDY!
Daddy says, OH, UH--
Candy asks, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Daddy says, NOW, BE VERY QUIET, KITTENS. THERE'S SOMETHING I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IN THE ATTIC. I WANT TO SURPRISE MOMMY. IT'LL MAKE HER REAL HAPPY. BUT DON'T TELL HER. PROMISE ME.
The kittens say, WE PROMISE.
Kittens singing, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW!
Daddy says, SHUSH NOW, KITTENS. I'M HEADING TO THE ATTIC.
Daddy walks upstairs.
Candy says, I WONDER WHAT EXACTLY DADDY'S DOING IN THE ATTIC.
Cookie says, HE COULD BE MAKING A COOL SWIMMING POOL FOR MOMMY TO SWIM IN.
Cookie imagines Daddy hammering.
(Grunting, hammering)
Daddy turns on a hose. Mommy is blindfolded. He takes off the blindfold.
Daddy says, HMM. HA-HA.
(Mommy gasping)
Mommy jumps into the swimming pool and swims back and forth.
(Laughing)
Pudding asks, BUT WHAT IF MOMMY GOES INTO THE ATTIC BEFORE IT'S READY?
Pudding imagines Daddy standing by the empty pool with the hose. Mommy runs toward the pool.
(Panting)
Daddy calls, OH, WAIT, HONEY. STOP! I'M NOT DONE YET.
(Laughing)
(Shouting)
Mommy jumps into the empty pool wearing a floatation device. She bounces up and down on it.
(Groaning)
Daddy turns on the hose and the water lands on Mommy’s head.
Daddy says, OH.
The fantasy ends.
Candy says, THEN WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT MOMMY DOESN'T LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT DADDY'S SECRET UNTIL IT'S READY.
The kittens put their paws together.
The kittens sit drawing at a table while Mommy reads on a couch.
(Saw grinding)
Mommy says, HUH? WHAT IS THAT NOISE? IS IT COMING FROM THE ATTIC?
The kittens look alarmed.
Cookie says, MOMMY, CAN YOU DRAW ME A FISH, PRETTY PLEASE? I JUST CAN'T GET IT RIGHT.
Cookie leads Mommy to the table.
Mommy says, YES. OF COURSE, COOKIE.
(Hammering)
Mommy says, HUH?
Cookie says, HMM?
Candy says, OH.
Mommy says, UM, I'LL BE BACK SOON TO FINISH DRAWING.
Candy says, MOMMY, WE WANT TO SING FOR YOU.
(Music playing)
Kittens singing, TIRED KITTENS' TIME TO SLEEP. PLEASE DON'T PURR OR MAKE A PEEP.
Candy says, SING WITH US, MOMMY!
All singing, DEAREST DADDY CLOSE YOUR EYES AND PLAY WITH US WHEN YOU RISE.
(Laughing, applauding)
Mommy says, MY, THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL SINGING, KITTENS.
(Banging)
Mommy says, HUH. I'M GOING TO LOOK IN THE ATTIC. MAYBE THERE'S A WINDOW LETTING IN THE BREEZE UP THERE.
Mommy walks away.
Candy cries, MOMMY'S GOING TO SEE THE SWIMMING POOL AND DADDY'S SURPRISE WILL BE RUINED!
Pudding says, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR DRASTIC MEASURES.
(Banging continues)
Mommy starts to walk upstairs.
(Phone ringing)
Mommy turns.
Mommy says, OH. THAT'S MY PHONE.
She hurries back to the couch.
Mommy says, HELLO?
Grandma on the phone says, HELLO, DARLING.
Mommy says, OH, HI, MOMMY. IT'S NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
Grandma says, GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU, TOO. REALLY, YOU SHOULD THANK PUDDING. HE CALLED AND ASKED ME TO CALL YOU TO FIND OUT HOW THINGS HAVE BEEN GOING.
Mommy says, IT'S GOING QUITE WELL. OH, I JUST FINISHED DESIGNING A WHOLE NEW LOVELY CHILDREN'S CLOTHING LINE. THE SHIRTS ARE ESPECIALLY BEAUTIFUL. THEY'RE STRIPES, PLAIDS, POLKA DOTS…
Mommy sits on the couch.
The kittens walk away.
Cookie says, OH, PUDDING, YOU'RE A GENIUS. WHEN MOMMY AND GRANDMA GET GOING TALKING LIKE THAT, IT CAN LAST FOR HOURS.
Candy says, NOW DADDY WILL HAVE TIME TO FINISH.
(Banging)
The kittens say, HMM? HUH?
Daddy cries, OW!
(Thudding)
Cookie says, THE POOL! DADDY'S FALLEN IN. WE NEED TO SAVE HIM.
Cookie runs up the stairs. He pushes at the door to the attic.
Pudding says, I GUESS IT'S LOCKED.
(Knocking)
The kittens cry, DADDY, DADDY!
Mommy walks up the stairs behind them.
Mommy asks, GOODNESS. WHAT'S WRONG, KITTENS?
Cookie says, WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY. IF WE DID, WE'D SPOIL IT ALL.
The attic door opens.
Mommy says, HUH?
Daddy waves from the door. His finger is bandaged.
(Daddy laughing)
Mommy asks, WHAT WOULD BE ALL SPOILED, HUH? HOW'D YOU HURT YOUR FINGER?
Daddy says, OH, ALL RIGHT, THEN. IT'S TIME TO TELL YOU. I JUST THOUGHT I'D GIVE MOMMY A NICE SURPRISE. I BUILT HER AN EXERCISE ROOM.
Everyone runs upstairs.
The kittens cry, HA-HA!
The walls are painted blue with white sailboats. Against one wall is a low platform filled with weights, a treadmill, and an exercise bicycle.
Daddy says, YOU ALWAYS SAID YOU WISHED YOU COULD WORK OUT AT HOME, MY DARLING.
Mommy says, WHAT A NICE SURPRISE. THANK YOU, MY DARLING.
They hug. Daddy holds up his bandaged finger.
Daddy says, HA. THIS IS BECAUSE I ACCIDENTALLY HIT MY FINGER WITH A HAMMER.
Pudding says, FORGET A SWIMMING POOL. THIS IS EVEN BETTER.
Mommy says, NOW, WE CAN ALL COME UP HERE AND EXERCISE WHENEVER WE FEEL LIKE IT.
Candy says, YEAH! AND I HAVE A REALLY GOOD IDEA. WE SHOULD START OUR WORKOUT THIS VERY MINUTE.
The kittens shout, SO AWESOME!
