An animated town is on a green hill.

A narrator says, IN THIS LITTLE TOWN LIVES A KITTEN NAMED COOKIE…

An animated cat in a sailor hat sits in a boat on water. A cat in stocking cap is pulled off the ground by a kite.

The narrator continues, HIS BIG BROTHER, PUDDING, AND THEIR LITTLE SISTER, CANDY.

A cat wearing a red bow skips rope. The three cats stand together. More cats appear.

The narrator says, LOTS OF OTHER KITTENS LIVE HERE, TOO. COOKIE, CANDY, AND PUDDING, KID-E-CATS.

A title reads: KID-E-CATS

All say, WE'RE CUTE!

Candy says, BUT I'M CUTER.

All say, ME-WOW!

An episode title reads: Kid-E-Cats To The Rescue

The narrator says, KID-E-CATS TO THE RESCUE.

The narrator says, ONE DAY, THE KITTENS AND THEIR GRANDPA WERE GETTING READY FOR A HIKE.

Grandpa walks out of a red and white lighthouse, carrying a large backpack. He has grey whiskers and wears a red cap and a blue coat.

Grandpas says, TODAY, WE'LL WALK DOWN THE SHORE FOR A GOOD BIT, AND WE HAVE EVERYTHING WE NEED IN OUR TRUSTY BACKPACKS.

The kittens all wear small green backpacks.

The kittens cry, SO AWESOME!

Kittens singing, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW!

The narrator says, THERE WERE LOTS OF DIFFERENT ROCKS ON THE SHORE. THE KITTENS LOVED EXAMINING THEM.

A red helicopter flies over the water.

Cookie says, LOOK. IT'S A HELICOPTER.

He jumps on a rock and waves.

Cookie calls, HI!

Grandpa says, THAT COPTER'S PILOT IS A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE, YOU KNOW.

Pudding asks, REALLY?

Grandpa says, YEAH.

Cookie asks, DO YOU THINK HE COULD GIVE US A RIDE?

Grandpa says, NO. THAT HELICOPTER ISN'T FOR HAVING FUN. IT'S FOR EMERGENCIES. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I FLEW IN IT WITH MY BUDDY, BACK WHEN I WAS ON THE SEARCH-AND-RESCUE TEAM. WE HELPED A LOT OF PEOPLE.

Grandpa imagines himself younger and flying in the helicopter. A cat is stuck in a tree.

The cat cries, HELP!

Young Grandpa looks through binoculars.

Grandpa says, OH.

Grandpa narrates, WE RESCUED CATS STUCK IN TREES.

Young Grandpa is lowered on a rope. He pulls the cat out of the tree. The cat takes a picture of a bird.

The cat says, AH.

(Shutter clicking)

(Bird chirping)

A blue cat in a red hat stands on a floating piece of ice.

Grandpa narrates, WE RESCUED CATS STUCK ON ICEBERGS.

Young Grandpa is lowered from the helicopter. He uses a fishing rod to snag the blue cat and lift him up.

The blue cat says, HA-HA! YEAH.

The blue cat is pulled up and pulls a large fish after him.

In present day, the kittens stare at Grandpa.

Pudding asks, SO, YOU RESCUED EVERYONE WHO GOT STUCK?

Grandpa says, YES. BUT RIGHT NOW, HE'S DOING A SAFETY CHECK, MAKING SURE EVERYTHING'S OKAY. IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I'VE SEEN HIM. IT'S HARD TO FIND THE TIME.

Grandpa walks to another pile of rocks.

Grandpa says, ALL RIGHT. LET'S TAKE A NICE LITTLE BREAK, THEN MOVE ON IN A BIT.

Grandpa takes a step and lodges his foot between two rocks.

(Grunting)

Grandpa says, OH, NO! IT LOOKS LIKE MY LEG MIGHT BE STUCK. SAY, KITTENS, COULD YOU GIVE ME A LITTLE HELP?

Pudding and Cookie try to move the rock.

(Grunting)

Pudding says, UGH.

Cookie says, OH. LET'S TRY TO BREAK THE ROCK WITH THIS.

Cookie takes a pickaxe from Grandpa’s backpack.

Cookie imagines he and the kittens tapping at the rock.

Grandpa says, I'M AFRAID THIS IS A TOUGH NUT TO CRACK.

The pickaxe crumbles.

Pudding says, MAYBE WE COULD USE A STICK TO PRY IT UP?

Grandpa says, HMM?

The kittens use a branch to try and pry the rock up.

(Shouting)

Grandpa says, I DON'T THINK YOU'RE STRONG ENOUGH FOR THAT.

The kittens cry, OH!

The branch springs up and the kittens are flung into the air. Grandpa catches them.

Grandpa says, OOP.

(Grunting)

Grandpa says, HA-HA.

(Bird chirping)

The fantasy ends.

(Helicopter blades whirring)

Candy says, I KNOW. WE SHOULD CONTACT YOUR GOOD FRIEND WHO FLIES THE HELICOPTER.

Pudding says, OH, YES. SINCE YOU'RE STUCK THERE, HE CAN COME AND RESCUE YOU, EASY.

Grandpa says, THAT'S A FIRST-RATE IDEA, KITTENS. I'M GOING TO CALL HIM RIGHT NOW.

Grandpa takes a phone from his pocket.

(Phone buttons beeping)

A phone rings on a helicopter seat. The pilot, a blue cat with a grey beard, does not notice.

(Phone ringing)

(Ringing continues)

Grandpa says, HMM. GUESS HE CAN'T HEAR IT RINGING. BUT THAT'S FINE. WE'LL JUST CALL YOUR PARENTS, KITTENS. THEN THEY CAN COME AND GET US.

The narrator says, THERE WAS AN HOUR BEFORE MOMMY AND DADDY WOULD ARRIVE, SO GRANDPA AND THE KITTENS DECIDED TO HAVE A SNACK.

Grandpa and the kittens eat sandwiches.

Cookie says, IT'S A SHAME YOUR FRIEND WON'T BE FLYING IN TO CARRY OUT A DARING RESCUE.

Pudding says, UH-HUH. NICE EXCUSE FOR YOU GUYS TO CATCH UP.

Grandpa says, IT IS A SHAME, BUT FROM WAY UP THERE, HE CAN'T TELL THAT I'M STUCK. IF ONLY WE COULD COME UP WITH SOME WAY TO GRAB HIS ATTENTION.

Candy says, I HAVE A REALLY GOOD IDEA. LOOK AT ALL THESE LITTLE ROCKS. WE CAN MAKE SOME KIND OF SIGN WITH THESE ROCKS TO ATTRACT GRANDPA'S OLD FRIEND'S ATTENTION.

Grandpa says, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA, CANDY. AND I HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT PICTURE YOU CAN MAKE WITH THEM.

(Music playing)

The kittens run around the beach, gathering rocks.

Grandpa says, RIGHT. TWO MORE ROCKS OVER THERE, AND THEN TWO THERE.

The kittens arrange rocks in a row.

Candy says, THERE. IT'S ALL DONE. HUH?

She looks up at the helicopter.

Grandpa says, NOW, WAVE YOUR BANDANAS UP TO THE HELICOPTER.

Grandpa and the kittens wave yellow bandanas.

All call, HEY!

The rocks form the shape of a cat’s face with Grandpa in the centre as the nose.

Grandpa says, HA-HA.

The pilot says, OH.

The helicopter lowers.

The kittens cry, HOORAY!

(Giggling)

The helicopter lands on the beach.

The pilot says, HEY, OLD PAL. WHAT HAPPENED HERE?

The kittens say, WELL, HELLO THERE.

Grandpa says, HI THERE, MY FRIEND. WELL, AS YOU CAN SEE—

The pilot tries to shift the rocks.

(Grunting)

The pilot says, OOH. I THINK WE SHOULD GO WITH PLAN B.

The helicopter rises in the air. A rope is attached to the rock over Grandpa’s foot. It lifts the rock up.

Grandpa says, HA! HA-HA.

The kittens hug him.

The kittens cry, GRANDPA!

The helicopter lands.

The pilot says, IF YOU HADN'T MADE THAT ROCK PICTURE, I NEVER WOULD'VE SEEN YOU DOWN THERE.

Grandpa says, YEAH. MY GRAND-KITTENS HERE SUCCESSFULLY ASSISTED IN YOUR LATEST WONDERFUL RESCUE.

Grandpa and the pilot hug.

(Chuckling)

The pilot says, THANKS, KITTENS. WELL DONE. I THINK YOU DESERVE A NICE RIDE IN THE HELICOPTER. I'LL TAKE YOU ALL BACK UP TO THE LIGHTHOUSE.

The kittens cry, SO AWESOME!

Kittens singing, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW, ME-WOW!

The helicopter lands by the lighthouse just as Mommy and Daddy drive up.

The narrator says, THANKS TO THE KID-E-CATS, A GREAT CAT RESCUE TOOK PLACE, AND ON TOP OF THAT, GRANDPA GOT TO SEE HIS OLD FRIEND AGAIN.
