Marine life navigates the ocean.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, OVER THE OCEAN
AND OVER THE REEF.
THERE'S A SUNNY LITTLE PLACE
CALLED KANGAROO BEACH.
The sun shines brightly over the Kangaroo Beach Lifeguard Headquarters. Text reads, Screen Australia and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation presents, A Cheeky Little Media production. Created by Tim Bain.
The singer sings, FRIZZY, GEMMA,
NEVILLE AND POUNCE.
Frizzy, a koala with blue fur, balances sunglasses on her head. Gemma, a platypus, wears goggles strapped over her head. Neville, a wombat, wears a bucket hat. Pounce, a kangaroo, hops over his friends and down a slide. All the friends wear a red and blue uniform.
The singer and others sing, CADETS IN THE CLUB,
SO COME ON, LET'S BOUNCE.
Gemma, Frizzy and Neville follow Pounce down the slide.
The singer sings, GOOD FRIENDS SURFIN'
SWIMMIN', LEARNIN’
Pounce surfs down the slide. Gemma slides down on her stomach. Fizzy follows with her hands in the air. Neville spins down the slide.
He screams, AAH!
Outside, on the Kangaroo Beach dock, he blows a whistle and points to the water.
[Whistle blaring]
The singer sings, BONDI, SANDY,
BIG TREV TOO.
Bondi and Sandy, kangaroos, speed across the water on a boat. Underwater, Frizzy travels in a submarine with Big Trev, a bearded koala with green fur.
The singer sings, TRAININ' WITH THE VERY BEST
LIFEGUARD CREW.
STAYIN' SAFE, BEING BRAVE,
RIDE A WAVE, MAKE A SAVE.
Gemma rides in a helicopter. Pounce rides in a boat with Bondi. The lifeguards and junior cadets return to the beach. The cadets surf a big wave.
The singer sings, WE'RE HERE ALL SUMMER,
IT JUST GETS FUNNER.
LET'S HOP DOWN TO...
A large wave crashes into the lifeguards and cadets on the beach.
The singer sings, …KANGAROO BEACH!
Title, Kangaroo Beach. A splash of water reveals the episode title on the beach.
Frizzy reads, FRIZZY’S BIG SHOW!

[Relaxing music plays]
On Kangaroo Beach, flags with red and yellow stripes wave on flagpoles. Families relax on the sand. Kids play in the water.
[Speaker feedback]
[Frizzy clearing her throat]
Through a speaker, Frizzy says, TESTING, TESTING.
ONE, TWO.
Outside the lifeguard headquarters, Frizzy speaks into a microphone.
She says, LADY-PUSES AND GENTLE-ROOS.
Nearby, Gemma, Pounce and Neville look surprised.
Frizzy continues, I, FRIZZY, FUTURE STAR, WILL
NOW PERFORM MY LATEST OPERA.
She hops down onto a rock.
She sings, I'M SINGING OPERA
AND I CANNOT STOP-ERA.
A distant voice says, THIS WAY.
Frizzy stops singing.
She says, WHAT?
Her voice echoes.
Gemma asks, WHY'D SHE STOP-ERA?
The distant voice says, QUICK, FRILLIP.
WE MUST GET THIS ON FILM.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy says, THIS IS THE MOMENT I'VE BEEN
WAITING FOR!
She runs down to the beach where a cameraman and producer stand.
The producer says, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy looks amazed.
She starts to sing, I’M…
Bondi and Sandy pull up in front of her on the lifeguard rescue golf cart. They jump out of their seats.
Bondi says, RIGHT-O.
EVERYONE OUT OF THE WAY.
Frillip, the cameraman, films the two lifeguards.
Frizzy says, HUH?
She frowns and walks around the golf cart. Bondi carries an otter wearing a suit and tie out of the water. Sandy carries a satchel.
Bondi says, COME ON, GHĂ‹RKINNN.
He sets Ghërkinnn, the otter, on his feet.
Sandy asks, WHAT HAVE WE TOLD YOU ABOUT
WEARING CLOTHES IN THE WATER?
She hands Ghërkinnn his satchel. Water drips from Ghërkinnn’s clothes.
Ghërkinnn says, YOU SAID TO WEAR A SWIMMING
SUIT.
He pulls a fish out of his satchel and tosses it aside.
Bondi says, UH, NOT THAT KIND OF SUIT.
WEARING NORMAL CLOTHES IN THE
WATER WEIGHS YOU DOWN.
TRY A SWIMSUIT OR A WETSUIT NEXT
TIME.
Ghërkinnn says, BUT THIS IS A VERY WET SUIT.
He seems confused.
The producer says, CUT.
THAT WAS PERFECT.
SENSATIONAL!
Ghërkinnn walks away with his satchel. Frizzy, Gemma, Neville and Pounce join the group on the beach. They all talk at once asking curious questions.
One of them asks, WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
The junior cadets chatter curiously amongst themselves.
Sandy says, ALRIGHT, CADETS, LISTEN UP.
I WANT YOU TO MEET SNAPPY AND
FRILLIP FROM
REALLY REAL
RESCUES.
Frillip waves to the cadets.
Sandy continues, THEY'RE GOING TO BE FILMING US
TODAY FOR A TELEVISION SPECIAL
ON BEACH SAFETY.
The cadets make sounds of amazement.
Frizzy says, AMAZING!
Snappy, the producer, says, WE'RE HERE TO CAPTURE
REAL-LIFE RESCUES, HEROES,
DRAMA, DANGER.
The cadets say, OOH!
Bondi says, WHICH THERE WILL BE NONE OF
TODAY.
The cadets groan, AW!
Frillip films the cadets.
Bondi says, LIFEGUARDS ARE HERE TO KEEP
EVERYONE SAFE, AND A SAFE BEACH
IS AN UNEVENTFUL ONE.
The cadets groan, AW.
Frillip and Snappy walk away from the cadets.
Pounce says, OH, OH, BONDI, CAN I
VOLUNTEER FOR HERO DUTY?
Gemma says, ME, TOO!
Neville says, ME, THREE!
Neville says, ME, FIRST!
Sandy says, AH, SORRY, CADETS.
ONLY SENIOR LIFEGUARDS ARE
ALLOWED ON HERO DUTY TODAY.
[Cadets groaning]
Frizzy groans, REALLY?
Bondi says, BUT WE'RE GIVING YOU AN EVEN
MORE IMPORTANT JOB.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy smiles hopefully. A brush and dustpan appear in her hands and she frowns. Elsewhere on the beach, she frowns at the cleaning tools. Neville sweeps sand beside her.
Frizzy says, CLEANUP DUTY?
Neville says, EVERYONE'S GOT TO START
SOMEWHERE.
Frizzy says, EXCEPT STARS, NEVILLE.
REAL STARS START RIGHT AT THE
TOP.
Neville asks, YOU MEAN, LIKE, ON TOP OF THE
LIGHTHOUSE?
He points toward the beach lighthouse at the top of a hill.
Frizzy says, NOT UP THERE.
OVER THERE.
She points to the beach with her dustpan. Frillip and Snappy follow Bondi across the beach. Bondi carries a rescue board toward the water.
Frizzy says, IF I CAN GET ON THAT TV SHOW,
THEN HOLLYWOOD WILL SEE ME AND
ASK ME TO BECOME A FAMOUS ACTOR!
She drops her brush and dustpan. Neville drops his broom.
He says, BUT HOW WILL HOLLYWOOD SEE
YOU IF YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO
HELP RESCUE ANYONE TODAY?
Frizzy says, BECAUSE I'LL BE THE ONE WHO
NEEDS RESCUING.
She winks at Neville.
[Neville gulping nervously]
Later, on the beach, Neville runs toward the rescue golf cart.
He says, BONDI, SANDI, COME QUICK!
FRIZZY'S IN TROUBLE!
Bondi says, HUH?
Sandy says, FRIZZY?
WHAT?
Frizzy stands in the ocean’s shallow water. She dramatically drops onto her back and splashes in the water.
Frizzy wails, HELP!
HELP!
Bondi hope toward the water. He grabs a rescue surfboard.
He says, ROO TO THE RESCUE!
On the water, Bondi jumps onto the board.
Frizzy wails, HELP, HELP!
Bondi paddles up to Frizzy and pulls her onto the board.
He says, I GOT YOU, FRIZZY.
[Frizzy moaning dramatically]
Bondi says, I'LL HAVE YOU BACK ON SHORE IN
NO TIME.
He paddles back toward the beach.
Frizzy says, OH, THANK YOU, BONDI.
Bondi grabs Frizzy and carries her onto the beach.
[Bondi grunting]
Sandy meets Bondi on the beach with a first aid kit. Bondi lays Frizzy down on the beach.
Sandy says, IT'S OKAY, FRIZZY.
YOU'RE SAFE NOW.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Frizzy dramatically wails, A JELLYFISH GOT ME!
Sandy skeptically says, OH, REALLY?
WHERE EXACTLY DID IT GET YOU?
Frizzy says, ON MY LEG!
She points to her leg and looks at Sandy. Frizzy sits up on the sand.
She says, IT HAD HUGE TEETH!
Frizzy drops back onto the sand.
[Frizzy grunting]
Sandy looks amused.
She says, TEETH, YOU SAY?
Frizzy says, TEETH THE SIZE OF MOUNTAINS!
Bondi frowns.
He says, MOUNTAINS?
He raises an eyebrow and looks at Sandy.
Frizzy says, UH, WELL, SMALLISH,
TOOTH-SIZE JELLY MOUNTAINS.
Sandy looks at Frizzy’s leg.
She says, YEAH, I CAN'T SEE ANY MARKS.
MAYBE YOU SWAM INTO SOME PRICKLY
SEAWEED.
[Bondi chuckling]
Bondi says, THAT'S A RELIEF.
He helps Frizzy to her feet.
Frizzy says, SEAWEED?
HOW EMBARRASSING!
She poses dramatically.
She continues, I'VE MADE A FOOL OF MYSELF ON
CAMERA FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO
SEE!
Frizzy drops to her knees and spreads her arms.
She says, UH...
She looks around the beach.
She asks, WHERE'S THE CAMERA?
Sandy says, AH, YOU'RE IN LUCK.
THEY'RE ONLY FILMING THE MOST
DRAMATIC RESCUES.
She grabs the first aid kit and heads back toward the golf cart with Bondi.
[Frizzy sighing]
Frizzy looks disappointed. Neville comforts her. Elsewhere on the beach, Frizzy’s reflection is in a small pool of water.
Frizzy says, NOW, I'LL NEVER BE FAMOUS.
Neville says, I'M GLAD YOU DIDN'T BECOME
FAMOUS PRETENDING TO BE
SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT.
Frizzy asks, ISN'T THAT WHAT ACTING IS ALL
ABOUT?
Neville says, MAYBE, BUT YOU'RE MORE THAN
AN ACTRESS, FRIZZY.
YOU'RE A STAR, AND REAL STARS
DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS OF
THEM.
Frizzy says, THEY DON'T?
Neville says, NO, THEY JUST GO ON SHINING
NO MATTER WHAT.
Frizzy’s reflection fades, and reveals a purple starfish that sparkles.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy smiles and looks at Neville.
She says, YOU'RE RIGHT, NEVILLE.
STARS MUST GO ON SHINING!
At the beach changing rooms, a giant inflatable star hangs on a door. Frizzy throws open the door and reveals a bold costume. She wears a headband of stars and a pink and purple jumpsuit decorated with gold stars.
She says, TA-DA!
Neville says, UH, THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT.
Frizzy says, THE TV PEOPLE WANT TO SEE
SOMETHING DRAMATIC, SO I'M GOING
TO PERFORM MY OPERA OUT THERE.
She points to the ocean.
She asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Neville says, I THINK IT'S A BAD IDEA.
Frizzy looks offended.
Neville says, YOU CAN'T WEAR NORMAL CLOTHES IN
THE WATER.
Frizzy says, THESE AREN'T NORMAL.
THEY'RE FABULOUS.
She spins.
She adds, AND I WON'T BE IN THE WATER.
I'LL BE ON THAT.
Frizzy points to the inflatable star hanging on the changing room door.
Neville says, I DON'T THINK THAT'S SAFE,
FRIZZY.
Frizzy says, IT WILL BE IF YOU HELP.
PLEASE, NEVILLE?
FRIENDS HELP FRIENDS REACH FOR
THE STARS!
She looks hopeful. Neville seems reluctant.
He says, UH...
Frizzy begs, PLEASE?
She flutters her eyes.
[Neville sighing]
Neville says, OKAY, FINE.
[Frizzy squealing happily]
Neville smiles. On the water, Frizzy lies on the inflatable star. She paddles across the water. On the beach, Neville stands beside a boom box. He holds a piece of paper. Behind him, Frillip chats with Snappy. A kangaroo and koala play ping pong. A panda sleeps on a towel. A young panda builds a sandcastle.
Neville says, THAT'S THE SPOT, FRIZZY.
Frizzy sits on the inflatable star.
She says, OKAY, I'M READY!
She waves across the water to Neville. Neville presses a button on the boom box.
[Dramatic instrumental music plays]
The kangaroo and koala on the beach pause their game. They turn toward the water. Frillip and Snappy stop their conversation and look to the ocean. Neville glances from them, to the water.
He says, ALRIGHT, HIT IT!
Frizzy carefully stands on the inflatable star. She smiles and bounces across the star.
Frizzy sings, I CAN'T STOP-ERA.
SINGING OPERA.
She dances about the inflatable star as she sings.
Frizzy continues, KUNG FU CHOP-ERA!
The pandas on the beach look curious.
Frizzy sings, BALLOON POP-ERA.
She pops a balloon and drags a green marker over her nose.
Frizzy sings, SLIP SLAP SLOP-ERA!
The beachgoers gather at the water’s edge.
[Excited chatter]
Frizzy sings, I'M SINGING OPERA,
AND I CANNOT STOP-ERA!
Frillip and Snappy smile and walk toward the water. Frizzy bounces across the inflatable star with a pair of flip-flops.
She sings, FLIP FLOPPER…
She stumbles as a wave ripples under the inflatable star.
Frizzy says, WHOA!
Behind her, a tall wave rises and starts to curl. Frizzy falls onto the inflatable star.
She yells, WHOA!
The wave behind Frizzy crashes and flips the inflatable star, knocking her into the water.
Frizzy yells, AH!
[Frizzy coughing]
Neville and the beach goers look impressed.
[Cheering]
[Dramatic instrumental music continues]
Frizzy splashes up from the water.
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy says, OH, NO!
She sinks into the water.
She says, MY CLOTHES, SO HEAVY!
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy looks around the open water. Her eyes widen.
She says, MY STAR!
The inflatable yellow star floats toward shore.
[Frizzy coughing]
On the beach, Snappy says, OH, OOH!
She looks impressed. Frillip films Frizzy.
Frizzy yells, HELP!
HELP!
She struggles in the water. The panda on the beach takes a picture. The young panda waves.
One of the beachgoers says, AMAZING.
Another says, OOH!
Frizzy says, OH, NO!
I'M SUCH A GREAT ACTOR, THEY
THINK I'M STILL PERFORMING!
[Frizzy panting]
Frizzy says, THIS IS THE BEST AND WORST DAY
OF MY LIFE!
She waves toward shore.
She yells, HELP!
On the beach, Neville looks at his paper.
He says, HEY, THIS ISN'T IN THE
SCRIPT!
He stops the music.
He says, OH, NO!
Neville runs away from shore. Elsewhere on the beach, Pounce looks through binoculars. Gemma has an ice cream cone.
Gemma says, WOW.
FRIZZY'S PERFORMANCE FEELS SO
REAL.
Pounce frowns.
He says, MAYBE A LITTLE TOO REAL.
He looks at Frizzy through the binoculars.
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy says, STAY CALM, FRIZZY.
JUST KEEP YOUR HEAD ABOVE WATER.
Pounce and Gemma hurry over to Bondi and Sandy.
Pounce says, BONDI, SANDY, FRIZZY'S IN
TROUBLE!
Sandy asks, ISN'T THAT PART OF THE SHOW?
Neville joins the life guards.
He says, NO, SHE WASN'T MEANT TO FALL
IN, AND SHE'S WEARING REGULAR
CLOTHES.
WE HAVE TO HURRY!
Bondi and Sandy look worried.
Bondi says, OKAY, LET'S GO GET HER.
Sandy says, ON IT.
The two lifeguards look determined.
Pounce says, ROOS TO THE RESCUE!
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
In the lifeguard headquarters, Gemma stands at a control panel.
She says, WE'VE GOT A LIGHT
SOUTHEASTERLY WIND, BIG TREV.
In the rescue helicopter, Big Trev says, THANKS, GEMMA.
[Energetic music plays]
In the water, Frizzy looks tired.
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy yells, HELP!
Big Trev flies over Frizzy.
[Frizzy coughing]
Big Trev hovers near Frizzy. He presses a button on his control panel and releases a rescue buoy from the helicopter. Frizzy grabs onto the buoy.
[Frizzy sighing]
Frizzy looks exhausted. Bondi cruises up to her on the rescue boat.
He says, ALRIGHT, NEVILLE.
I'LL BACK IT UP, AND YOU PULL
FRIZZY INTO THE BOAT.
Bondi and Neville wear life vests. At the back of the boat, Neville grabs the collar of Frizzy’s wet jumpsuit.
He says, WE'VE GOT YOU.
He pulls Frizzy and the buoy onto the boat. Bondi looks over his shoulder and smiles. He steers the boat back to shore. Frizzy lies on her back. On the beach, Bondi carries Frizzy off the boat. Neville follows him and they meet up with Sandy, who has the first aid kit. Bondi puts Frizzy down on the beach, and she lies down.
[Frizzy sighing tiredly]
Sandy says, OKAY, STAY STILL.
JUST LET ME LOOK AT YOU.
Neville asks, ARE YOU OKAY, FRIZZY?
Sandy helps Frizzy upright. Frizzy looks around her.
She says, I AM, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.
[Beachgoers cheering]
[Pounce and Gemma cheering]
Neville and Bondi smile.
Sandy says, WE'RE JUST GLAD YOU'RE SAFE.
WHAT DO YOU THINK WENT WRONG?
Frizzy says, I WENT INTO THE WATER WITH
CLOTHES ON.
WHEN I FELL IN, MY JUMPSUIT
BECAME SO HEAVY I COULDN'T SWIM.
She looks embarrassed.
Sandy says, THAT'S RIGHT.
NEXT TIME, MAKE SURE YOU'RE IN A
SWIMSUIT OR SOMETHING DESIGNED
FOR THE WATER.
She nudges Frizzy.
She adds, AND HEY, LET US KNOW WHEN YOU'RE
PERFORMING NEXT TIME, WOULD YOU,
SO WE DON'T MISS OUT ON TICKETS.
[Frizzy giggling]
Frizzy says, OKAY, I'LL SAVE YOU A SPOT IN
THE FRONT ROW.
[Upbeat music plays]
Outside the Kangaroo Beach lifeguard headquarters, the sun shines brightly.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy says, IT'S STARTING!
Inside the lifeguard headquarters, Sandy joins the junior cadets at a table in front of a TV screen. Bondi stands by Big Trev, who is cooking on a stove.
[TV show music playing]
On a TV show, Bondi drives across Kangaroo Beach in the golf cart with Sandy. He races through the water in the rescue boat. At the lifeguard headquarters table, the junior cadets look amazed.
They say, OH!
Bondi watches the show with Sandy and the cadets. On the show, Frizzy struggles in the water in her jumpsuit. Big Trev flies the rescue helicopter over her.
[Helicopter whirring]
In the show, Bondi looks through binoculars. He looks determined.
The show’s narrator says, TODAY ON
REALLY REAL
RESCUES…
In the show, Frizzy performs on the inflatable star.
[Frizzy singing]
The narrator says, …A STAR WAS BORN...
[Frizzy gasping]
In the show, Frizzy sings, SINGING OPERA…
She stumbles on the inflatable star as a wave rises.
Frizzy yells, WHOA!
The narrator says, …AND THEN WIPED OUT.
In the show, Neville pulls Frizzy onto the rescue boat.
[Frizzy coughing]
The narrator says, BUT THANKFULLY, THE REAL STARS
OF THE BEACH WERE THERE TO
HELP.
FROM STAR TO STARFISH.
In the show, on the beach, Frizzy lies back with her arms and legs out like a starfish.
[Neville and Pounce laughing]
A beachgoer is heard saying, BRAVO!
Another is heard saying, OH, YEAH!
Frizzy smiles sheepishly.
In the show, Snappy interviews Frizzy, still in her jumpsuit, on the beach.
Snappy asks Frizzy, CAN YOU TELL US WHAT
HAPPENED?
Frizzy says, YES, SNAPPY.
I DID A FEW THINGS RIGHT.
I SWAM BETWEEN THE FLAGS.
I HAD A FLOATATION DEVICE, AND
I HAD EXCELLENT DANCE MOVES.
In the show, Frizzy demonstrates a dance move.
[Frizzy’s friends laughing]
A beachgoer calls out, SO COOL!
In the show, Frizzy continues, I COULDN'T STAY AFLOAT WITH THE
HEAVY CLOTHES.
THANKFULLY, THE TEAM WAS THERE
TO HELP ME.
In the show, Frizzy winks.
[Cheering]
Bondi says, AH, YEAH, GOOD ONE, FRIZZY.
Neville says, GREAT JOB, FRIZZY!
Bondi says, I THINK YOU'VE GOT A REAL
TALENT.
Frizzy says, YEAH, FOR GETTING DUNKED.
Sandy says, YOU KNOW, WE'VE BEEN LOOKING
FOR SOMEONE TO HOST OUR NEXT
WATER SAFETY VIDEO.
WHAT DO YOU SAY?
Frizzy says, REALLY?
I'LL DO IT, BUT ONLY IF NEVILLE
CAN, TOO.
[Neville gasping]
Neville looks hopeful.
Frizzy adds, AND THERE MUST BE AT LEAST ONE
SONG AND DANCE NUMBER.
Sandy and Bondi glance at each other.
Bondi says, UH...
On the beach, Frizzy and Neville stand in front of towels laid out in front of them, with the boom box behind Neville.
[Cheerful music plays]
Frizzy sings, GOING SWIMMING.
Frizzy and Neville sing, WHOO- WHOO!
Frizzy sings, GOT TO WEAR A SWIMSUIT.
Frizzy and Neville sing, WHOO- WHOO!
The friends dance as they sing.
Neville sings, GOING SWIMMING

Ghërkinnn jumps in front of the friends in his suit and tie.

He pulls a fish out of his suit and throws it in the ocean. Ghërkinnn poses with Frizzy and Neville.

Frizzy, a koala with blue fur, balances sunglasses on her head. Gemma, a platypus, wears goggles strapped over her head. Neville, a wombat, wears a bucket hat. Pounce, a kangaroo, hops over his friends and down a slide. All the friends wear a red and blue uniform.
The singer and others sing, CADETS IN THE CLUB,
SO COME ON, LET'S BOUNCE.
Gemma, Frizzy and Neville follow Pounce down the slide.
The singer sings, GOOD FRIENDS SURFIN'
SWIMMIN', LEARNIN’
Pounce surfs down the slide. Gemma slides down on her stomach. Fizzy follows with her hands in the air. Neville spins down the slide.
He screams, AAH!
Outside, on the Kangaroo Beach dock, he blows a whistle and points to the water.
[Whistle blaring]
The singer sings, BONDI, SANDY,
BIG TREV TOO.
Bondi and Sandy, kangaroos, speed across the water on a boat. Underwater, Frizzy travels in a submarine with Big Trev, a bearded koala with green fur.
The singer sings, TRAININ' WITH THE VERY BEST
LIFEGUARD CREW.
STAYIN' SAFE, BEING BRAVE,
RIDE A WAVE, MAKE A SAVE.
Gemma rides in a helicopter. Pounce rides in a boat with Bondi. The lifeguards and junior cadets return to the beach. The cadets surf a big wave.
The singer sings, WE'RE HERE ALL SUMMER,
IT JUST GETS FUNNER.
LET'S HOP DOWN TO...
A large wave crashes into the lifeguards and cadets on the beach.
The singer sings, …KANGAROO BEACH!

[Relaxing music plays]
On Kangaroo Beach, flags with red and yellow stripes wave on flagpoles. Families relax on the sand. Kids play in the water.
[Speaker feedback]
[Frizzy clearing her throat]
Through a speaker, Frizzy says, TESTING, TESTING.
ONE, TWO.
Outside the lifeguard headquarters, Frizzy speaks into a microphone.
She says, LADY-PUSES AND GENTLE-ROOS.
Nearby, Gemma, Pounce and Neville look surprised.
Frizzy continues, I, FRIZZY, FUTURE STAR, WILL
NOW PERFORM MY LATEST OPERA.
She hops down onto a rock.
She sings, I'M SINGING OPERA
AND I CANNOT STOP-ERA.
A distant voice says, THIS WAY.
Frizzy stops singing.
She says, WHAT?
Her voice echoes.
Gemma asks, WHY'D SHE STOP-ERA?
The distant voice says, QUICK, FRILLIP.
WE MUST GET THIS ON FILM.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy says, THIS IS THE MOMENT I'VE BEEN
WAITING FOR!
She runs down to the beach where a cameraman and producer stand.
The producer says, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy looks amazed.
She starts to sing, I’M…
Bondi and Sandy pull up in front of her on the lifeguard rescue golf cart. They jump out of their seats.
Bondi says, RIGHT-O.
EVERYONE OUT OF THE WAY.
Frillip, the cameraman, films the two lifeguards.
Frizzy says, HUH?
She frowns and walks around the golf cart. Bondi carries an otter wearing a suit and tie out of the water. Sandy carries a satchel.
Bondi says, COME ON, GHĂ‹RKINNN.
He sets Ghërkinnn, the otter, on his feet.
Sandy asks, WHAT HAVE WE TOLD YOU ABOUT
WEARING CLOTHES IN THE WATER?
She hands Ghërkinnn his satchel. Water drips from Ghërkinnn’s clothes.
Ghërkinnn says, YOU SAID TO WEAR A SWIMMING
SUIT.
He pulls a fish out of his satchel and tosses it aside.
Bondi says, UH, NOT THAT KIND OF SUIT.
WEARING NORMAL CLOTHES IN THE
WATER WEIGHS YOU DOWN.
TRY A SWIMSUIT OR A WETSUIT NEXT
TIME.
Ghërkinnn says, BUT THIS IS A VERY WET SUIT.
He seems confused.
The producer says, CUT.
THAT WAS PERFECT.
SENSATIONAL!
Ghërkinnn walks away with his satchel. Frizzy, Gemma, Neville and Pounce join the group on the beach. They all talk at once asking curious questions.
One of them asks, WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
The junior cadets chatter curiously amongst themselves.
Sandy says, ALRIGHT, CADETS, LISTEN UP.
I WANT YOU TO MEET SNAPPY AND
FRILLIP FROM
REALLY REAL
RESCUES.
Frillip waves to the cadets.
Sandy continues, THEY'RE GOING TO BE FILMING US
TODAY FOR A TELEVISION SPECIAL
ON BEACH SAFETY.
The cadets make sounds of amazement.
Frizzy says, AMAZING!
Snappy, the producer, says, WE'RE HERE TO CAPTURE
REAL-LIFE RESCUES, HEROES,
DRAMA, DANGER.
The cadets say, OOH!
Bondi says, WHICH THERE WILL BE NONE OF
TODAY.
The cadets groan, AW!
Frillip films the cadets.
Bondi says, LIFEGUARDS ARE HERE TO KEEP
EVERYONE SAFE, AND A SAFE BEACH
IS AN UNEVENTFUL ONE.
The cadets groan, AW.
Frillip and Snappy walk away from the cadets.
Pounce says, OH, OH, BONDI, CAN I
VOLUNTEER FOR HERO DUTY?
Gemma says, ME, TOO!
Neville says, ME, THREE!
Neville says, ME, FIRST!
Sandy says, AH, SORRY, CADETS.
ONLY SENIOR LIFEGUARDS ARE
ALLOWED ON HERO DUTY TODAY.
[Cadets groaning]
Frizzy groans, REALLY?
Bondi says, BUT WE'RE GIVING YOU AN EVEN
MORE IMPORTANT JOB.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy smiles hopefully. A brush and dustpan appear in her hands and she frowns. Elsewhere on the beach, she frowns at the cleaning tools. Neville sweeps sand beside her.
Frizzy says, CLEANUP DUTY?
Neville says, EVERYONE'S GOT TO START
SOMEWHERE.
Frizzy says, EXCEPT STARS, NEVILLE.
REAL STARS START RIGHT AT THE
TOP.
Neville asks, YOU MEAN, LIKE, ON TOP OF THE
LIGHTHOUSE?
He points toward the beach lighthouse at the top of a hill.
Frizzy says, NOT UP THERE.
OVER THERE.
She points to the beach with her dustpan. Frillip and Snappy follow Bondi across the beach. Bondi carries a rescue board toward the water.
Frizzy says, IF I CAN GET ON THAT TV SHOW,
THEN HOLLYWOOD WILL SEE ME AND
ASK ME TO BECOME A FAMOUS ACTOR!
She drops her brush and dustpan. Neville drops his broom.
He says, BUT HOW WILL HOLLYWOOD SEE
YOU IF YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO
HELP RESCUE ANYONE TODAY?
Frizzy says, BECAUSE I'LL BE THE ONE WHO
NEEDS RESCUING.
She winks at Neville.
[Neville gulping nervously]
Later, on the beach, Neville runs toward the rescue golf cart.
He says, BONDI, SANDI, COME QUICK!
FRIZZY'S IN TROUBLE!
Bondi says, HUH?
Sandy says, FRIZZY?
WHAT?
Frizzy stands in the ocean’s shallow water. She dramatically drops onto her back and splashes in the water.
Frizzy wails, HELP!
HELP!
Bondi hope toward the water. He grabs a rescue surfboard.
He says, ROO TO THE RESCUE!
On the water, Bondi jumps onto the board.
Frizzy wails, HELP, HELP!
Bondi paddles up to Frizzy and pulls her onto the board.
He says, I GOT YOU, FRIZZY.
[Frizzy moaning dramatically]
Bondi says, I'LL HAVE YOU BACK ON SHORE IN
NO TIME.
He paddles back toward the beach.
Frizzy says, OH, THANK YOU, BONDI.
Bondi grabs Frizzy and carries her onto the beach.
[Bondi grunting]
Sandy meets Bondi on the beach with a first aid kit. Bondi lays Frizzy down on the beach.
Sandy says, IT'S OKAY, FRIZZY.
YOU'RE SAFE NOW.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Frizzy dramatically wails, A JELLYFISH GOT ME!
Sandy skeptically says, OH, REALLY?
WHERE EXACTLY DID IT GET YOU?
Frizzy says, ON MY LEG!
She points to her leg and looks at Sandy. Frizzy sits up on the sand.
She says, IT HAD HUGE TEETH!
Frizzy drops back onto the sand.
[Frizzy grunting]
Sandy looks amused.
She says, TEETH, YOU SAY?
Frizzy says, TEETH THE SIZE OF MOUNTAINS!
Bondi frowns.
He says, MOUNTAINS?
He raises an eyebrow and looks at Sandy.
Frizzy says, UH, WELL, SMALLISH,
TOOTH-SIZE JELLY MOUNTAINS.
Sandy looks at Frizzy’s leg.
She says, YEAH, I CAN'T SEE ANY MARKS.
MAYBE YOU SWAM INTO SOME PRICKLY
SEAWEED.
[Bondi chuckling]
Bondi says, THAT'S A RELIEF.
He helps Frizzy to her feet.
Frizzy says, SEAWEED?
HOW EMBARRASSING!
She poses dramatically.
She continues, I'VE MADE A FOOL OF MYSELF ON
CAMERA FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO
SEE!
Frizzy drops to her knees and spreads her arms.
She says, UH...
She looks around the beach.
She asks, WHERE'S THE CAMERA?
Sandy says, AH, YOU'RE IN LUCK.
THEY'RE ONLY FILMING THE MOST
DRAMATIC RESCUES.
She grabs the first aid kit and heads back toward the golf cart with Bondi.
[Frizzy sighing]
Frizzy looks disappointed. Neville comforts her. Elsewhere on the beach, Frizzy’s reflection is in a small pool of water.
Frizzy says, NOW, I'LL NEVER BE FAMOUS.
Neville says, I'M GLAD YOU DIDN'T BECOME
FAMOUS PRETENDING TO BE
SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT.
Frizzy asks, ISN'T THAT WHAT ACTING IS ALL
ABOUT?
Neville says, MAYBE, BUT YOU'RE MORE THAN
AN ACTRESS, FRIZZY.
YOU'RE A STAR, AND REAL STARS
DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS OF
THEM.
Frizzy says, THEY DON'T?
Neville says, NO, THEY JUST GO ON SHINING
NO MATTER WHAT.
Frizzy’s reflection fades, and reveals a purple starfish that sparkles.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy smiles and looks at Neville.
She says, YOU'RE RIGHT, NEVILLE.
STARS MUST GO ON SHINING!
At the beach changing rooms, a giant inflatable star hangs on a door. Frizzy throws open the door and reveals a bold costume. She wears a headband of stars and a pink and purple jumpsuit decorated with gold stars.
She says, TA-DA!
Neville says, UH, THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT.
Frizzy says, THE TV PEOPLE WANT TO SEE
SOMETHING DRAMATIC, SO I'M GOING
TO PERFORM MY OPERA OUT THERE.
She points to the ocean.
She asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Neville says, I THINK IT'S A BAD IDEA.
Frizzy looks offended.
Neville says, YOU CAN'T WEAR NORMAL CLOTHES IN
THE WATER.
Frizzy says, THESE AREN'T NORMAL.
THEY'RE FABULOUS.
She spins.
She adds, AND I WON'T BE IN THE WATER.
I'LL BE ON THAT.
Frizzy points to the inflatable star hanging on the changing room door.
Neville says, I DON'T THINK THAT'S SAFE,
FRIZZY.
Frizzy says, IT WILL BE IF YOU HELP.
PLEASE, NEVILLE?
FRIENDS HELP FRIENDS REACH FOR
THE STARS!
She looks hopeful. Neville seems reluctant.
He says, UH...
Frizzy begs, PLEASE?
She flutters her eyes.
[Neville sighing]
Neville says, OKAY, FINE.
[Frizzy squealing happily]
Neville smiles. On the water, Frizzy lies on the inflatable star. She paddles across the water. On the beach, Neville stands beside a boom box. He holds a piece of paper. Behind him, Frillip chats with Snappy. A kangaroo and koala play ping pong. A panda sleeps on a towel. A young panda builds a sandcastle.
Neville says, THAT'S THE SPOT, FRIZZY.
Frizzy sits on the inflatable star.
She says, OKAY, I'M READY!
She waves across the water to Neville. Neville presses a button on the boom box.
[Dramatic instrumental music plays]
The kangaroo and koala on the beach pause their game. They turn toward the water. Frillip and Snappy stop their conversation and look to the ocean. Neville glances from them, to the water.
He says, ALRIGHT, HIT IT!
Frizzy carefully stands on the inflatable star. She smiles and bounces across the star.
Frizzy sings, I CAN'T STOP-ERA.
SINGING OPERA.
She dances about the inflatable star as she sings.
Frizzy continues, KUNG FU CHOP-ERA!
The pandas on the beach look curious.
Frizzy sings, BALLOON POP-ERA.
She pops a balloon and drags a green marker over her nose.
Frizzy sings, SLIP SLAP SLOP-ERA!
The beachgoers gather at the water’s edge.
[Excited chatter]
Frizzy sings, I'M SINGING OPERA,
AND I CANNOT STOP-ERA!
Frillip and Snappy smile and walk toward the water. Frizzy bounces across the inflatable star with a pair of flip-flops.
She sings, FLIP FLOPPER…
She stumbles as a wave ripples under the inflatable star.
Frizzy says, WHOA!
Behind her, a tall wave rises and starts to curl. Frizzy falls onto the inflatable star.
She yells, WHOA!
The wave behind Frizzy crashes and flips the inflatable star, knocking her into the water.
Frizzy yells, AH!
[Frizzy coughing]
Neville and the beach goers look impressed.
[Cheering]
[Dramatic instrumental music continues]
Frizzy splashes up from the water.
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy says, OH, NO!
She sinks into the water.
She says, MY CLOTHES, SO HEAVY!
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy looks around the open water. Her eyes widen.
She says, MY STAR!
The inflatable yellow star floats toward shore.
[Frizzy coughing]
On the beach, Snappy says, OH, OOH!
She looks impressed. Frillip films Frizzy.
Frizzy yells, HELP!
HELP!
She struggles in the water. The panda on the beach takes a picture. The young panda waves.
One of the beachgoers says, AMAZING.
Another says, OOH!
Frizzy says, OH, NO!
I'M SUCH A GREAT ACTOR, THEY
THINK I'M STILL PERFORMING!
[Frizzy panting]
Frizzy says, THIS IS THE BEST AND WORST DAY
OF MY LIFE!
She waves toward shore.
She yells, HELP!
On the beach, Neville looks at his paper.
He says, HEY, THIS ISN'T IN THE
SCRIPT!
He stops the music.
He says, OH, NO!
Neville runs away from shore. Elsewhere on the beach, Pounce looks through binoculars. Gemma has an ice cream cone.
Gemma says, WOW.
FRIZZY'S PERFORMANCE FEELS SO
REAL.
Pounce frowns.
He says, MAYBE A LITTLE TOO REAL.
He looks at Frizzy through the binoculars.
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy says, STAY CALM, FRIZZY.
JUST KEEP YOUR HEAD ABOVE WATER.
Pounce and Gemma hurry over to Bondi and Sandy.
Pounce says, BONDI, SANDY, FRIZZY'S IN
TROUBLE!
Sandy asks, ISN'T THAT PART OF THE SHOW?
Neville joins the life guards.
He says, NO, SHE WASN'T MEANT TO FALL
IN, AND SHE'S WEARING REGULAR
CLOTHES.
WE HAVE TO HURRY!
Bondi and Sandy look worried.
Bondi says, OKAY, LET'S GO GET HER.
Sandy says, ON IT.
The two lifeguards look determined.
Pounce says, ROOS TO THE RESCUE!
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
In the lifeguard headquarters, Gemma stands at a control panel.
She says, WE'VE GOT A LIGHT
SOUTHEASTERLY WIND, BIG TREV.
In the rescue helicopter, Big Trev says, THANKS, GEMMA.
[Energetic music plays]
In the water, Frizzy looks tired.
[Frizzy coughing]
Frizzy yells, HELP!
Big Trev flies over Frizzy.
[Frizzy coughing]
Big Trev hovers near Frizzy. He presses a button on his control panel and releases a rescue buoy from the helicopter. Frizzy grabs onto the buoy.
[Frizzy sighing]
Frizzy looks exhausted. Bondi cruises up to her on the rescue boat.
He says, ALRIGHT, NEVILLE.
I'LL BACK IT UP, AND YOU PULL
FRIZZY INTO THE BOAT.
Bondi and Neville wear life vests. At the back of the boat, Neville grabs the collar of Frizzy’s wet jumpsuit.
He says, WE'VE GOT YOU.
He pulls Frizzy and the buoy onto the boat. Bondi looks over his shoulder and smiles. He steers the boat back to shore. Frizzy lies on her back. On the beach, Bondi carries Frizzy off the boat. Neville follows him and they meet up with Sandy, who has the first aid kit. Bondi puts Frizzy down on the beach, and she lies down.
[Frizzy sighing tiredly]
Sandy says, OKAY, STAY STILL.
JUST LET ME LOOK AT YOU.
Neville asks, ARE YOU OKAY, FRIZZY?
Sandy helps Frizzy upright. Frizzy looks around her.
She says, I AM, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.
[Beachgoers cheering]
[Pounce and Gemma cheering]
Neville and Bondi smile.
Sandy says, WE'RE JUST GLAD YOU'RE SAFE.
WHAT DO YOU THINK WENT WRONG?
Frizzy says, I WENT INTO THE WATER WITH
CLOTHES ON.
WHEN I FELL IN, MY JUMPSUIT
BECAME SO HEAVY I COULDN'T SWIM.
She looks embarrassed.
Sandy says, THAT'S RIGHT.
NEXT TIME, MAKE SURE YOU'RE IN A
SWIMSUIT OR SOMETHING DESIGNED
FOR THE WATER.
She nudges Frizzy.
She adds, AND HEY, LET US KNOW WHEN YOU'RE
PERFORMING NEXT TIME, WOULD YOU,
SO WE DON'T MISS OUT ON TICKETS.
[Frizzy giggling]
Frizzy says, OKAY, I'LL SAVE YOU A SPOT IN
THE FRONT ROW.
[Upbeat music plays]
Outside the Kangaroo Beach lifeguard headquarters, the sun shines brightly.
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy says, IT'S STARTING!
Inside the lifeguard headquarters, Sandy joins the junior cadets at a table in front of a TV screen. Bondi stands by Big Trev, who is cooking on a stove.
[TV show music playing]
On a TV show, Bondi drives across Kangaroo Beach in the golf cart with Sandy. He races through the water in the rescue boat. At the lifeguard headquarters table, the junior cadets look amazed.
They say, OH!
Bondi watches the show with Sandy and the cadets. On the show, Frizzy struggles in the water in her jumpsuit. Big Trev flies the rescue helicopter over her.
[Helicopter whirring]
In the show, Bondi looks through binoculars. He looks determined.
The show’s narrator says, TODAY ON
REALLY REAL
RESCUES…
In the show, Frizzy performs on the inflatable star.
[Frizzy singing]
The narrator says, …A STAR WAS BORN...
[Frizzy gasping]
In the show, Frizzy sings, SINGING OPERA…
She stumbles on the inflatable star as a wave rises.
Frizzy yells, WHOA!
The narrator says, …AND THEN WIPED OUT.
In the show, Neville pulls Frizzy onto the rescue boat.
[Frizzy coughing]
The narrator says, BUT THANKFULLY, THE REAL STARS
OF THE BEACH WERE THERE TO
HELP.
FROM STAR TO STARFISH.
In the show, on the beach, Frizzy lies back with her arms and legs out like a starfish.
[Neville and Pounce laughing]
A beachgoer is heard saying, BRAVO!
Another is heard saying, OH, YEAH!
Frizzy smiles sheepishly.
In the show, Snappy interviews Frizzy, still in her jumpsuit, on the beach.
Snappy asks Frizzy, CAN YOU TELL US WHAT
HAPPENED?
Frizzy says, YES, SNAPPY.
I DID A FEW THINGS RIGHT.
I SWAM BETWEEN THE FLAGS.
I HAD A FLOATATION DEVICE, AND
I HAD EXCELLENT DANCE MOVES.
In the show, Frizzy demonstrates a dance move.
[Frizzy’s friends laughing]
A beachgoer calls out, SO COOL!
In the show, Frizzy continues, I COULDN'T STAY AFLOAT WITH THE
HEAVY CLOTHES.
THANKFULLY, THE TEAM WAS THERE
TO HELP ME.
In the show, Frizzy winks.
[Cheering]
Bondi says, AH, YEAH, GOOD ONE, FRIZZY.
Neville says, GREAT JOB, FRIZZY!
Bondi says, I THINK YOU'VE GOT A REAL
TALENT.
Frizzy says, YEAH, FOR GETTING DUNKED.
Sandy says, YOU KNOW, WE'VE BEEN LOOKING
FOR SOMEONE TO HOST OUR NEXT
WATER SAFETY VIDEO.
WHAT DO YOU SAY?
Frizzy says, REALLY?
I'LL DO IT, BUT ONLY IF NEVILLE
CAN, TOO.
[Neville gasping]
Neville looks hopeful.
Frizzy adds, AND THERE MUST BE AT LEAST ONE
SONG AND DANCE NUMBER.
Sandy and Bondi glance at each other.
Bondi says, UH...
On the beach, Frizzy and Neville stand in front of towels laid out in front of them, with the boom box behind Neville.
[Cheerful music plays]
Frizzy sings, GOING SWIMMING.
Frizzy and Neville sing, WHOO- WHOO!
Frizzy sings, GOT TO WEAR A SWIMSUIT.
Frizzy and Neville sing, WHOO- WHOO!
The friends dance as they sing.
Neville sings, GOING SWIMMING
Frizzy and Neville sing, WHOO- WHOO!

Ghërkinnn jumps in front of the friends in his suit and tie.
