Marine life navigates the ocean.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, OVER THE OCEAN
AND OVER THE REEF.
THERE'S A SUNNY LITTLE PLACE
CALLED KANGAROO BEACH.

The singer sings, FRIZZY, GEMMA,
NEVILLE AND POUNCE.
Frizzy, a koala with blue fur, balances sunglasses on her head. Gemma, a platypus, wears goggles strapped over her head. Neville, a wombat, wears a bucket hat. Pounce, a kangaroo, hops over his friends and down a slide. All the friends wear a red and blue uniform.
The singer and others sing, CADETS IN THE CLUB,
SO COME ON, LET'S BOUNCE.
Gemma, Frizzy and Neville follow Pounce down the slide.
The singer sings, GOOD FRIENDS SURFIN'
SWIMMIN', LEARNIN’
Pounce surfs down the slide. Gemma slides down on her stomach. Fizzy follows with her hands in the air. Neville spins down the slide.
He screams, AAH!
Outside, on the Kangaroo Beach dock, he blows a whistle and points to the water.
[Whistle blaring]
The singer sings, BONDI, SANDY,
BIG TREV TOO.
Bondi and Sandy, kangaroos, speed across the water on a boat. Underwater, Frizzy travels in a submarine with Big Trev, a bearded koala with green fur.
The singer sings, TRAININ' WITH THE VERY BEST
LIFEGUARD CREW.
STAYIN' SAFE, BEING BRAVE,
RIDE A WAVE, MAKE A SAVE.
Gemma rides in a helicopter. Pounce rides in a boat with Bondi. The lifeguards and junior cadets return to the beach. The cadets surf a big wave.
The singer sings, WE'RE HERE ALL SUMMER,
IT JUST GETS FUNNER.
LET'S HOP DOWN TO...
A large wave crashes into the lifeguards and cadets on the beach.
The singer sings, …KANGAROO BEACH!

Neville reads, NEVILLE’S SHARK DRONE.
Text reads, Written by Tim Bain. A wave splashes over the episode title and reveals a shark fin poking out of the ocean’s surface.
Under the surface, a shark glides through the water.
The shark sings, DUM DEE DAH ♪
DUM DEE DEE.
I'M GOING FOR A SWIM AND AS
HAPPY AS CAN BE.
Elsewhere in the water, Ghërkinnn snorkels. He pops out of the water near Kangaroo Beach.
He yells, SHARK!
On watch post, Big Trev drops his snack bar.
[Big Trev yelping]
Big Trev spots the shark’s fin using his binoculars.
He says, GREAT GUM NUTS.
SHARK!
He presses a red button on a box behind him.
[Siren wailing]
The beachgoers turn toward the loud siren. Sandy drives onto the beach on the lifeguard golf cart. She talks through a megaphone.
She says, ATTENTION, SWIMMERS.
PLEASE CALMLY EXIT THE WATER.
Bondi steers a jet ski through the water.
He says, THIS WAY, FOLKS.
OUT YOU HOP.
Ghërkinnn wails, SHARK, SHARK!
TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE SHARK!
He hurries out of the water with the other swimmers.
In the ocean, the shark sings, DUM DEE DOO,
DUM DEE DEE,
I JUST WANT SOMEONE TO PLAY
WITH ME.
Elsewhere, near some boulders by the water, the junior cadets watch Neville use a remote control.
He says, HERE IT COMES!
[Whirring]
Neville says, HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!
A drone dips toward the cadets.
Pounce, Frizzy and Gemma say, OH!
Gemma says, AMAZING DRONE, NEVILLE!
Neville says, MADE IT MYSELF.
[Siren wailing in the distance]
Pounce says, HANG ON.
IS THAT THE SHARK ALARM?
Frizzy says, WHO CARES?
MY TURN, NEVILLE!
[Dramatic music plays]
The shark’s fin pokes through the water’s surface as the shark approaches the cadets. The shark rises from the water and smiles.
She says, OH, SOME FRIENDS.
HI, EVERYONE!
She waves. The cadets look surprised, then scared.
They scream, AH!
Neville’s drone hits the back of his head, and he falls into the water.
Neville wails, AH, HELP!
[Neville whimpering]
The shark says, OOH, A GAME OF SWIM CHASE-Y?
YAY!
She dives into the water.
Neville screams, AH!
He swims back toward the boulders as the shark approaches.
[Engine whirring]
Bondi arrives on his jet ski. He steers the between Neville and the shark. The shark rises from the water as Bondi pulls Neville out.
Bondi says, GOTCH YA.
He puts Neville back on land with his friends.
[Neville sighing]
Bondi says, DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE SHARK
ALARM, NEVILLE?
ALWAYS OBEY THE ALARM AS SOON AS
YOU HEAR IT AND KEEP AWAY FROM
THE WATER.
GO ON, CHARLENE.
He points past Charlene, the shark.
Bondi says, BACK TO YOUR SIDE OF THE ISLAND,
PLEASE.
Charlene groans, AW, NO FAIR!
She turns around and dives back into the water.
[Water splashing]
A splash of water reveals Neville inside Kangaroo Beach lifeguard headquarters.
Neville whimpers, BIG, SCARY MONSTER!
Gemma says, SHARKS AREN'T MONSTERS.
THEY'RE A NATURAL PART OF THE
ECOSYSTEM, JUST LIKE WOMBATS.
Neville says, WOMBATS WITH BIG, SCARY
TEETH!
Sandy, Bondi and Big Trev look at the cadets.
Big Trev says, THAT'S THE THIRD TIME
CHARLENE'S SWUM NEAR THE BEACH
THIS WEEK.
Gemma says, HEY, NEVILLE, MAYBE YOU CAN
BUILD A SHARK DRONE.
Neville says, UM, I SUPPOSE I COULD.
Bondi says, A WHAT?
Gemma says, A DRONE THAT PATROLS THE
BEACH FOR SHARKS.
Big Trev says, OH, GREAT IDEA.
LET'S BUILD US A SHARK DRONE,
NEVILLE!
[Cadets cheering]
One of the cadets cheers, LET’S GO!
Elsewhere in the headquarters, the cadets are gathered around a work table with Big Trev. Big Trev looks at a document and scratches his head.
He says, UH...
Pounce says, HUH?
Pieces of a drone are laid out on the table. Big Trev grabs a gear, and a wrench from a tool box.
He says, I'LL JUST TIGHTEN THIS...
He grabs another piece of the drone.
He says, …AND
TIGHTEN THAT.
Big Trev uses a screwdriver.
Pounce says, AH!
He hands Big Trev a pipe wrench.
Big Trev says, AND...
The cadets all say, WHOA.
Big Trev grabs his pooryly put together drone.
He says, TA-DA!
Big Trev holds up the drone. A piece falls out.
[Clanging]
Big Trev says, OH.
The drone falls apart.
The cadets say, OOH.
Big Trev says, EH, THAT, THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED
TO HAPPEN.
Neville says, STEP ASIDE, BIG TREV.
I'LL HELP!
Laid out on the table, Neville looks thoughtfully at the drone pieces.
He says, MM... HMM...
He picks up one of the propellers.
Neville says, COOL!
Piece by piece, Neville puts together the drone.
He says, MM-HMM.
THOSE TWO TOGETHER.
MM-HMM.
Pounce hands Neville a screwdriver and wrench.
Pounce says, THERE YOU GO.
Neville says, THANK YOU!
MM-HMM.
Big Trev drinks from a coffee mug. Pounce holds the drone as Frizzy paints it yellow with her eyes closed.
[Frizzy humming]
Pounce groans, FRIZZY.
Frizzy opens her eyes.
She says, WHAT?
Pounce is covered in yellow paint.
Frizzy says, OOPS.
[Frizzy laughing]
Neville holds the finished helicopter shaped drone.
He says, ALRIGHT, HIT IT.
[Neville laughing]
Pounce presses a button on the drone’s controls.
[Drone propellers whirring]
The drone rises with Neville still holding on. It lifts Neville off the ground.
Neville screams, AH!
Pounce says, IT WORKS, NEVILLE!
Neville wails, GET ME DOWN!
On the beach, Sandy and Bondi smile at the cadets. Neville holds the drones controls.
Gemma says, INTRODUCING NEVILLE'S SHARK
DRONE, THE AUTOMATED
LIFEGUARDING LAND AND AQUATIC
NAVIGATOR.
Neville says, ALLAN FOR SHORT.
Frizzy says, DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!
Pounce rapidly thumps the ground. Neville gives a thumbs up. Near headquarters, Big Trev puts the drone on the ground. On the controls, the drone’s camera shows a view of Kangaroo Beach.
[Upbeat music play]
Neville flies the drone over beachgoers enjoying the sand and water.
One beachgoer says, OH, LOOK UP!
OH, THAT'S SO COOL.
Another cheers, WHOO!
A third says, I WANT ONE OF THOSE!
A fourth says, AWESOME!
SO GOOD.
Neville flies the drone over the ocean.
Bondi says, AH, GREAT JOB, CADETS, BUT IT
MISSED THAT SHARK I JUST
SPOTTED.
The cadets look worried.
[Dramatic music plays]
In the distance, a fin pokes out of the water’s surface. Neville looks determined. He flies the drone further over the ocean. The drone camera highlights an animal in the water.
[Beeping]
Allan, the drone, says, ONE BOTTLENOSE
DOLPHIN.
Bondi says, RIGHT.
[Sandy laughing quietly]
Bondi says, NOT A SHARK.
Gemma says, ALLAN CAN IDENTIFY HUNDREDS
OF DIFFERENT SEA ANIMALS.
Neville says, I ADDED ALL THE BELLS AND
WHISTLES.
Allan says, SWIMMER IN DISTRESS.
The drone camera shows Ghërkinnn splashing frantically in the water.
Ghërkinnn says, AH, AH, HELP, HELP!
[Ghërkinnn panting]
Bondi says, EXCUSE ME, FOLKS.
ROO TO THE RESCUE!
He grabs a rescue surfboard and heads for the water. Neville flies the drone back to the beach.
[Ghërkinnn panting]
Neville flies the drone near Bondi with a rescue buoy.
[Drone whirring]
Neville flies the drone close to Bondi’s head.
Bondi says, OI, WATCH IT!
[Ghërkinnn panting]
Ghërkinnn says, AH, HELP, HELP!
Neville says, ALLAN HAS AUTOMATIC RESPOND
AND RESCUE SKILLS.
The drone hovers over Ghërkinnn. Ghërkinnn takes the buoy from the drone.
Allan says, DANGER AVERTED.
[Cheering]
On the beach, Bondi looks annoyed.
In the water, Ghërkinnn says, THANKS, FLYING ROBOT!
DANKE, DANKE SCHON!
He waves to the drone as Neville flies it back toward the beach.
Sandy says, WELL, WELL, WELL, OUTDONE BY
A DRONE, HEY?
Bondi crosses his arms. He looks annoyed. Elsewhere, on a sand hill, Roadie slides down on a surfboard.
Roadie cheers, WHOO-HOO!
YEAH!
Roadie slides toward a rock at the bottom at the hill.
Roadie yelps, WHOA!
Roadie slides off the rock and into the air, then lands face first in the sand.
[Roadie grunting]
[Roadie speaking indistinctly]
Sandy quickly hops over with her first aid kit.
She says, OUT OF THE WAY, PEOPLE!
MEDIC COMING THROUGH!
Allan the drone follows her.
Allan says, APPLYING BANDAGE TO
INJURY.
Sandy’s eyes widen. Allan rapidly flies around Roadie, wrapping a bandage around chest, arm and forehead. Roadie looks dizzy.
Roadie says, WHOA.
[Roadie groaning]
Sandy says, HEY, ALLAN, THANK YOU, BUT
MEDICAL HELP IS MY JOB, OKAY?
Allan says, DANGER AVERTED.
Bondi joins Sandy.
He says, OUTDONE BY A DRONE, EH?
[Sandy groaning]
[Bondi chuckling]
Neville and Big Trev join the lifeguards as Roadie walks away.
Big Trev says, WELL DONE, NEVILLE.
YOUR DRONE IS BRILLIANT.
THE BEACH IS SAFE.
YOU TWO MIGHT AS WELL GO CLEAN
THE CLUB.
Sandy and Bondi look shocked.
Big Trev says, ALLAN AND I CAN HANDLE BEACH
DUTY.
Sandy and Bondi say, BUT….OH…
Big Trev says, THANK YOU.
[Sandy groaning]
In the ocean, Charlene sings, DUM DEE DAH
DUM DEE DURF.
She surfs through the water on a wave.
She sings, I'M A HAPPY LITTLE SHARK AND
I'M GOING FOR A SURF.
Neville flies Allan over Charlene. Neville adjusts Allan’s position.
Allan says, ONE GREAT WHITE SHARK.
Neville says, CHARLENE'S BACK!
At the water’s edge outside a cave, Big Trev looks through binoculars. The other cadets watch the water with him and Neville.
Big Trev says, GOOD JOB.
I'LL GO RING THE ALARM.
He runs across the beach.
[Big Trev grunting]
[Big Trev panting]
Neville flies Allan over and past Big Trev. Big Trev gets a determined look on his face. He hurries after the drone. The drone enters the lifeguard headquarters. On the beach, Big Trev looks tired.
[Big Trev panting]
In the lifeguard headquarters, the drone hits a red button.
Allan announces, ALERT, ALERT.
[Siren wailing]
Allan announces, SHARK PRESENT.
DO NOT ENTER WATER.
Near the water, Neville says, AND NOW TO GET RID OF THAT
SNEAKY SHARK.
He takes a few steps into the water, then flies Allan over to Charlene.
[Distant sirens continue]
Allan says, ATTENTION, SHARK.
SWIM AWAY.
Charlene rises from the water.
She says, OOH, A GAME OF SWIM CHASE-Y?
YAY!
She dives back into the water. Neville flies the drone away from the beach, and Charlene follows. Still in the water, Neville looks focused.
On the beach, Frizzy says, IT'S WORKING!
SEE YOU, CHARLENE!
[Siren wailing louder]
Pounce and Gemma look worried.
Pounce says, SHARK ALARM, NEVILLE.
BETTER GET OUT OF THE WATER.
Neville says, NAH, WE'RE SAFE WITH ALLAN
PROTECTING US.
SEE?
He shows Pounce Allan’s view of Charlene leaping through the water.
[Allan beeping]
Neville gently nudges Charlene with the drone. Charlene rises from the water, facing Allan.
She says, AW, YOU GOT ME.
THAT MEANS I'M IT.
[Charlene gasping]
Charlene says, READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!
She chomps at the drone, then swims back toward the beach after it.
On the beach, Neville says, AH!
He looks panicked as he jerks the drone’s controls.
[Beeping]
Neville says, OH, NO!
The drone glides close to the water’s surface. Charlene leaps out of the water toward the drone.
She says, ALMOST!
She splashes back into the water.
[Splashing]
Charlene tries again.
[Splashing]
She says, ALMOST!
[Splashing]
Charlene tries a third time.
She says, ALMOST!
[Splashing]
Neville screams, AH!
In slow motion, near the beach, Charlene leaps out of the water toward the drone.
[Slow motion screaming]
In slow motion, Pounce grabs Neville and drags him out of the water.
[Slow motion shouting]
In slow motion, Pounce and Neville crash onto the beach. Gemma pulls Frizzy away from the drone. The drone crashes into the boulder by the cave’s entrance, followed by Charlene flying over the beach and sliding into the cave. She slides into a small pool of water.
[Splashing]
Broken pieces of Allan fall onto the beach.
Neville wails, ALLAN, NO!
[Neville sobbing]
In the cave, Charlene’s voice echoes.
She says, HEY, IT'S DARK IN HERE!
[Charlene gasping]
Charlene wails, HELP!
Gemma says, CHARLENE WON'T LAST LONG OUT
OF THE OCEAN!
COME ON!
WE NEED THE LIFEGUARD!
She leads the cadets down the beach. In the lifeguard headquarters, Sandy polishes a sign. Bondi polishes a surfboard.
Bondi says, I'LL BET THAT DRONE COULDN'T
POLISH A SURFBOARD THIS SHINY.
Gemma says, BONDI, WE NEED YOUR HELP ON
THE BEACH!
The four cadets look nervous.
Sandy says, I'M SURE ALLAN CAN HANDLE IT.
Neville says, NOT ANYMORE.
He shows Sandy the broken drone.
[Allan speaking gibberish]
Sandy and Bondi look at the broken drone.
Neville says, I DIDN'T LISTEN TO THE SHARK
ALARM AND ALMOST GOT CHOMPED.
Bondi says, IF THE ALARM RINGS, YOU GET
OUT OF THE WATER IMMEDIATELY.
GOT IT?
Neville lowers his gaze and nods.
Gemma says, BONDI, WE NEED TO HURRY!
CHARLENE'S BEACHED IN A CAVE!
Bondi says, JUMPING JOEYS!
In front of the team’s monitor, he faces the cadets with Sandy and Big Trev.
Bondi says, RIGHT-O, TEAM.
WE'VE GOT A GREAT WHITE SHARK
STUCK IN A CAVE HERE.
He points to an animated map of Kangaroo Beach. A pulsing dot highlights Charlene’s location.
Sandy says, OKAY, SO, IT'LL BE DARK, AND
SHE'S GOING TO BE SCARED.
NOT A GOOD MIX WHEN YOU'RE
DEALING WITH A WHOPPING GREAT
SHARK.
The cadets look nervous. Bondi scratches his chin thoughtfully.
He says, WE NEED TO GET INTO THAT CAVE
AND ASSESS THE SITUATION SAFELY.
[Neville gasping]
Neville says, WE COULD SEND MY TOY DRONE IN
TO HELP.
He holds up his toy drone.
Bondi says, WELL, GUESS IT'S BETTER THAN
GETTING MUNCHED FOR LUNCH.
The cadets look excited.
Bondi says, ALRIGHT, RESCUE SQUAD.
LET'S BOUNCE.
[Cadets cheering]
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
[Helicopter whirring]
Frizzy flies with Big Trev in the rescue helicopter. Big Trev lowers a large sling using a cable connected to the helicopter. The sling has cables connected to each corner. On the beach, outside the cave, Bondi, with Pounce nearby, steadies the sling.
On the water, in the rescue boat, Sandy, Gemma and Neville wear life vests. Neville flies his toy drone out of Gemma’s hands. He flies the drone into the cave and over Charlene, who looks nervous.
Sandy says, CHARLENE, CAN YOU HEAR
US?
A camera on the drone is pointed at Charlene.
From the boat, sandy says, THIS IS THE LIFEGUARD TEAM.
STAY CALM.
WE'RE GOING TO GET YOU OUT OF
THERE.
Charlene says, HURRY!
THERE COULD BE A SEA MONSTER IN
HERE!
[Drone beeping]
Neville flies the drone around Charlene. Bondi hops over to the water’s edge.
Sandy calls out, CHARLENE'S TAIL IS THREE
METRES INTO THE CAVE.
BUT SHE'S FACING AWAY FROM YOU,
SO YOU SHOULD BE SAFE.
She tosses Bondi a cable connected to the rescue boat.
Bondi says, ALRIGHT!
He hops into the cave with the cable. Inside, Charlene looks scared.
[Charlene gasping]
Bondi ties the cable around Charlene’s tail.
[Charlene whimpering]
Bondi hops back out of the cave.
He says, SHE'S READY!
He hops over to the sling, now laid out flat on the beach. Sandy steers the rescue boat away from the beach, gently pulling Charlene out of the cave by the cable tied to her tail. Charlene slides onto the sling on the beach.
On the boat, Sandy says, ALRIGHT, LET'S GET HERE OUT
OF THERE.
She speaks through a mega phone.
She says, TAKE HER AWAY, TREV!
Big Trev hits a button on the helicopter control panel.
[Clicking]
The cable connected to the sling retracts, and folds the sling on either side of Charlene. It lifts Charlene off the beach.
Charlene wails, WHOA!
Big Trev flies Charlene away from the beach.
Charlene says, WHEE!
Sandy, Neville and Gemma watch Big Trev fly away with Charlene.
Charlene says, THIS IS FUN!
FLYING SHARK COMING THROUGH!
Big Trev lowers Charlene into the water.
[Splashing]
Charlene’s fin pokes out of the water, free from the sling. Big Trev lifts the sling out of the water and returns to the beach. He lands the helicopter beside the other lifeguards and cadets.
[Cheering]
The beachgoers smile at the lifeguards. In the water, Charlene waves.
She says, THANKS, LIFEGUARDS!
YOU'RE AWESOME!
Pounce, Gemma and Frizzy wave.
Sandy says, BYE, CHARLENE!
Bondi says, SEE YOU, CHARLENE.
Neville says, STAY SAFE!
Sandy says, GOOD ON YOU, CHAMP.
Bondi says, NICE ONE.
THANKS, CADETS.
Ghërkinnn wails, JELLYFISH, JELLYFISH!
I SAW IT!
He points to jellyfish in the water.
Ghërkinnn says, JELLYFISH!
Neville says, BETTER GET EVERYONE OUT OF
THE WATER!
He presses a button on his controls and flies his drone.
[Beeping]
Bondi grabs the drone.
He says, OH, NO, YOU DON'T.
He puts the drone on the ground.
He says, THIS RESCUE'S MINE.
Sandy says, MINE!
Big Trev says, MINE!
The three lifeguards run toward the water.
[Cadets laughing]
[Upbeat music plays]

Under the surface, a shark glides through the water.
The shark sings, DUM DEE DAH ♪
DUM DEE DEE.
I'M GOING FOR A SWIM AND AS
HAPPY AS CAN BE.
Elsewhere in the water, Ghërkinnn snorkels. He pops out of the water near Kangaroo Beach.
He yells, SHARK!
On watch post, Big Trev drops his snack bar.
[Big Trev yelping]
Big Trev spots the shark’s fin using his binoculars.
He says, GREAT GUM NUTS.
SHARK!
He presses a red button on a box behind him.
[Siren wailing]
The beachgoers turn toward the loud siren. Sandy drives onto the beach on the lifeguard golf cart. She talks through a megaphone.
She says, ATTENTION, SWIMMERS.
PLEASE CALMLY EXIT THE WATER.
Bondi steers a jet ski through the water.
He says, THIS WAY, FOLKS.
OUT YOU HOP.
Ghërkinnn wails, SHARK, SHARK!
TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE SHARK!
He hurries out of the water with the other swimmers.
In the ocean, the shark sings, DUM DEE DOO,
DUM DEE DEE,
I JUST WANT SOMEONE TO PLAY
WITH ME.
Elsewhere, near some boulders by the water, the junior cadets watch Neville use a remote control.
He says, HERE IT COMES!
[Whirring]
Neville says, HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!
A drone dips toward the cadets.
Pounce, Frizzy and Gemma say, OH!
Gemma says, AMAZING DRONE, NEVILLE!
Neville says, MADE IT MYSELF.
[Siren wailing in the distance]
Pounce says, HANG ON.
IS THAT THE SHARK ALARM?
Frizzy says, WHO CARES?
MY TURN, NEVILLE!
[Dramatic music plays]
The shark’s fin pokes through the water’s surface as the shark approaches the cadets. The shark rises from the water and smiles.
She says, OH, SOME FRIENDS.
HI, EVERYONE!
She waves. The cadets look surprised, then scared.
They scream, AH!
Neville’s drone hits the back of his head, and he falls into the water.
Neville wails, AH, HELP!
[Neville whimpering]
The shark says, OOH, A GAME OF SWIM CHASE-Y?
YAY!
She dives into the water.
Neville screams, AH!
He swims back toward the boulders as the shark approaches.
[Engine whirring]
Bondi arrives on his jet ski. He steers the between Neville and the shark. The shark rises from the water as Bondi pulls Neville out.
Bondi says, GOTCH YA.
He puts Neville back on land with his friends.
[Neville sighing]
Bondi says, DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE SHARK
ALARM, NEVILLE?
ALWAYS OBEY THE ALARM AS SOON AS
YOU HEAR IT AND KEEP AWAY FROM
THE WATER.
GO ON, CHARLENE.
He points past Charlene, the shark.
Bondi says, BACK TO YOUR SIDE OF THE ISLAND,
PLEASE.
Charlene groans, AW, NO FAIR!
She turns around and dives back into the water.
[Water splashing]
A splash of water reveals Neville inside Kangaroo Beach lifeguard headquarters.
Neville whimpers, BIG, SCARY MONSTER!
Gemma says, SHARKS AREN'T MONSTERS.
THEY'RE A NATURAL PART OF THE
ECOSYSTEM, JUST LIKE WOMBATS.
Neville says, WOMBATS WITH BIG, SCARY
TEETH!
Sandy, Bondi and Big Trev look at the cadets.
Big Trev says, THAT'S THE THIRD TIME
CHARLENE'S SWUM NEAR THE BEACH
THIS WEEK.
Gemma says, HEY, NEVILLE, MAYBE YOU CAN
BUILD A SHARK DRONE.
Neville says, UM, I SUPPOSE I COULD.
Bondi says, A WHAT?
Gemma says, A DRONE THAT PATROLS THE
BEACH FOR SHARKS.
Big Trev says, OH, GREAT IDEA.
LET'S BUILD US A SHARK DRONE,
NEVILLE!
[Cadets cheering]
One of the cadets cheers, LET’S GO!
Elsewhere in the headquarters, the cadets are gathered around a work table with Big Trev. Big Trev looks at a document and scratches his head.
He says, UH...
Pounce says, HUH?
Pieces of a drone are laid out on the table. Big Trev grabs a gear, and a wrench from a tool box.
He says, I'LL JUST TIGHTEN THIS...
He grabs another piece of the drone.
He says, …AND
TIGHTEN THAT.
Big Trev uses a screwdriver.
Pounce says, AH!
He hands Big Trev a pipe wrench.
Big Trev says, AND...
The cadets all say, WHOA.
Big Trev grabs his pooryly put together drone.
He says, TA-DA!
Big Trev holds up the drone. A piece falls out.
[Clanging]
Big Trev says, OH.
The drone falls apart.
The cadets say, OOH.
Big Trev says, EH, THAT, THAT WASN'T SUPPOSED
TO HAPPEN.
Neville says, STEP ASIDE, BIG TREV.
I'LL HELP!
Laid out on the table, Neville looks thoughtfully at the drone pieces.
He says, MM... HMM...
He picks up one of the propellers.
Neville says, COOL!
Piece by piece, Neville puts together the drone.
He says, MM-HMM.
THOSE TWO TOGETHER.
MM-HMM.
Pounce hands Neville a screwdriver and wrench.
Pounce says, THERE YOU GO.
Neville says, THANK YOU!
MM-HMM.
Big Trev drinks from a coffee mug. Pounce holds the drone as Frizzy paints it yellow with her eyes closed.
[Frizzy humming]
Pounce groans, FRIZZY.
Frizzy opens her eyes.
She says, WHAT?
Pounce is covered in yellow paint.
Frizzy says, OOPS.
[Frizzy laughing]
Neville holds the finished helicopter shaped drone.
He says, ALRIGHT, HIT IT.
[Neville laughing]
Pounce presses a button on the drone’s controls.
[Drone propellers whirring]
The drone rises with Neville still holding on. It lifts Neville off the ground.
Neville screams, AH!
Pounce says, IT WORKS, NEVILLE!
Neville wails, GET ME DOWN!
On the beach, Sandy and Bondi smile at the cadets. Neville holds the drones controls.
Gemma says, INTRODUCING NEVILLE'S SHARK
DRONE, THE AUTOMATED
LIFEGUARDING LAND AND AQUATIC
NAVIGATOR.
Neville says, ALLAN FOR SHORT.
Frizzy says, DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!
Pounce rapidly thumps the ground. Neville gives a thumbs up. Near headquarters, Big Trev puts the drone on the ground. On the controls, the drone’s camera shows a view of Kangaroo Beach.
[Upbeat music play]
Neville flies the drone over beachgoers enjoying the sand and water.
One beachgoer says, OH, LOOK UP!
OH, THAT'S SO COOL.
Another cheers, WHOO!
A third says, I WANT ONE OF THOSE!
A fourth says, AWESOME!
SO GOOD.
Neville flies the drone over the ocean.
Bondi says, AH, GREAT JOB, CADETS, BUT IT
MISSED THAT SHARK I JUST
SPOTTED.
The cadets look worried.
[Dramatic music plays]
In the distance, a fin pokes out of the water’s surface. Neville looks determined. He flies the drone further over the ocean. The drone camera highlights an animal in the water.
[Beeping]
Allan, the drone, says, ONE BOTTLENOSE
DOLPHIN.
Bondi says, RIGHT.
[Sandy laughing quietly]
Bondi says, NOT A SHARK.
Gemma says, ALLAN CAN IDENTIFY HUNDREDS
OF DIFFERENT SEA ANIMALS.
Neville says, I ADDED ALL THE BELLS AND
WHISTLES.
Allan says, SWIMMER IN DISTRESS.
The drone camera shows Ghërkinnn splashing frantically in the water.
Ghërkinnn says, AH, AH, HELP, HELP!
[Ghërkinnn panting]
Bondi says, EXCUSE ME, FOLKS.
ROO TO THE RESCUE!
He grabs a rescue surfboard and heads for the water. Neville flies the drone back to the beach.
[Ghërkinnn panting]
Neville flies the drone near Bondi with a rescue buoy.
[Drone whirring]
Neville flies the drone close to Bondi’s head.
Bondi says, OI, WATCH IT!
[Ghërkinnn panting]
Ghërkinnn says, AH, HELP, HELP!
Neville says, ALLAN HAS AUTOMATIC RESPOND
AND RESCUE SKILLS.
The drone hovers over Ghërkinnn. Ghërkinnn takes the buoy from the drone.
Allan says, DANGER AVERTED.
[Cheering]
On the beach, Bondi looks annoyed.
In the water, Ghërkinnn says, THANKS, FLYING ROBOT!
DANKE, DANKE SCHON!
He waves to the drone as Neville flies it back toward the beach.
Sandy says, WELL, WELL, WELL, OUTDONE BY
A DRONE, HEY?
Bondi crosses his arms. He looks annoyed. Elsewhere, on a sand hill, Roadie slides down on a surfboard.
Roadie cheers, WHOO-HOO!
YEAH!
Roadie slides toward a rock at the bottom at the hill.
Roadie yelps, WHOA!
Roadie slides off the rock and into the air, then lands face first in the sand.
[Roadie grunting]
[Roadie speaking indistinctly]
Sandy quickly hops over with her first aid kit.
She says, OUT OF THE WAY, PEOPLE!
MEDIC COMING THROUGH!
Allan the drone follows her.
Allan says, APPLYING BANDAGE TO
INJURY.
Sandy’s eyes widen. Allan rapidly flies around Roadie, wrapping a bandage around chest, arm and forehead. Roadie looks dizzy.
Roadie says, WHOA.
[Roadie groaning]
Sandy says, HEY, ALLAN, THANK YOU, BUT
MEDICAL HELP IS MY JOB, OKAY?
Allan says, DANGER AVERTED.
Bondi joins Sandy.
He says, OUTDONE BY A DRONE, EH?
[Sandy groaning]
[Bondi chuckling]
Neville and Big Trev join the lifeguards as Roadie walks away.
Big Trev says, WELL DONE, NEVILLE.
YOUR DRONE IS BRILLIANT.
THE BEACH IS SAFE.
YOU TWO MIGHT AS WELL GO CLEAN
THE CLUB.
Sandy and Bondi look shocked.
Big Trev says, ALLAN AND I CAN HANDLE BEACH
DUTY.
Sandy and Bondi say, BUT….OH…
Big Trev says, THANK YOU.
[Sandy groaning]
In the ocean, Charlene sings, DUM DEE DAH
DUM DEE DURF.
She surfs through the water on a wave.
She sings, I'M A HAPPY LITTLE SHARK AND
I'M GOING FOR A SURF.
Neville flies Allan over Charlene. Neville adjusts Allan’s position.
Allan says, ONE GREAT WHITE SHARK.
Neville says, CHARLENE'S BACK!
At the water’s edge outside a cave, Big Trev looks through binoculars. The other cadets watch the water with him and Neville.
Big Trev says, GOOD JOB.
I'LL GO RING THE ALARM.
He runs across the beach.
[Big Trev grunting]
[Big Trev panting]
Neville flies Allan over and past Big Trev. Big Trev gets a determined look on his face. He hurries after the drone. The drone enters the lifeguard headquarters. On the beach, Big Trev looks tired.
[Big Trev panting]
In the lifeguard headquarters, the drone hits a red button.
Allan announces, ALERT, ALERT.
[Siren wailing]
Allan announces, SHARK PRESENT.
DO NOT ENTER WATER.
Near the water, Neville says, AND NOW TO GET RID OF THAT
SNEAKY SHARK.
He takes a few steps into the water, then flies Allan over to Charlene.
[Distant sirens continue]
Allan says, ATTENTION, SHARK.
SWIM AWAY.
Charlene rises from the water.
She says, OOH, A GAME OF SWIM CHASE-Y?
YAY!
She dives back into the water. Neville flies the drone away from the beach, and Charlene follows. Still in the water, Neville looks focused.
On the beach, Frizzy says, IT'S WORKING!
SEE YOU, CHARLENE!
[Siren wailing louder]
Pounce and Gemma look worried.
Pounce says, SHARK ALARM, NEVILLE.
BETTER GET OUT OF THE WATER.
Neville says, NAH, WE'RE SAFE WITH ALLAN
PROTECTING US.
SEE?
He shows Pounce Allan’s view of Charlene leaping through the water.
[Allan beeping]
Neville gently nudges Charlene with the drone. Charlene rises from the water, facing Allan.
She says, AW, YOU GOT ME.
THAT MEANS I'M IT.
[Charlene gasping]
Charlene says, READY OR NOT, HERE I COME!
She chomps at the drone, then swims back toward the beach after it.
On the beach, Neville says, AH!
He looks panicked as he jerks the drone’s controls.
[Beeping]
Neville says, OH, NO!
The drone glides close to the water’s surface. Charlene leaps out of the water toward the drone.
She says, ALMOST!
She splashes back into the water.
[Splashing]
Charlene tries again.
[Splashing]
She says, ALMOST!
[Splashing]
Charlene tries a third time.
She says, ALMOST!
[Splashing]
Neville screams, AH!
In slow motion, near the beach, Charlene leaps out of the water toward the drone.
[Slow motion screaming]
In slow motion, Pounce grabs Neville and drags him out of the water.
[Slow motion shouting]
In slow motion, Pounce and Neville crash onto the beach. Gemma pulls Frizzy away from the drone. The drone crashes into the boulder by the cave’s entrance, followed by Charlene flying over the beach and sliding into the cave. She slides into a small pool of water.
[Splashing]
Broken pieces of Allan fall onto the beach.
Neville wails, ALLAN, NO!
[Neville sobbing]
In the cave, Charlene’s voice echoes.
She says, HEY, IT'S DARK IN HERE!
[Charlene gasping]
Charlene wails, HELP!
Gemma says, CHARLENE WON'T LAST LONG OUT
OF THE OCEAN!
COME ON!
WE NEED THE LIFEGUARD!
She leads the cadets down the beach. In the lifeguard headquarters, Sandy polishes a sign. Bondi polishes a surfboard.
Bondi says, I'LL BET THAT DRONE COULDN'T
POLISH A SURFBOARD THIS SHINY.
Gemma says, BONDI, WE NEED YOUR HELP ON
THE BEACH!
The four cadets look nervous.
Sandy says, I'M SURE ALLAN CAN HANDLE IT.
Neville says, NOT ANYMORE.
He shows Sandy the broken drone.
[Allan speaking gibberish]
Sandy and Bondi look at the broken drone.
Neville says, I DIDN'T LISTEN TO THE SHARK
ALARM AND ALMOST GOT CHOMPED.
Bondi says, IF THE ALARM RINGS, YOU GET
OUT OF THE WATER IMMEDIATELY.
GOT IT?
Neville lowers his gaze and nods.
Gemma says, BONDI, WE NEED TO HURRY!
CHARLENE'S BEACHED IN A CAVE!
Bondi says, JUMPING JOEYS!
In front of the team’s monitor, he faces the cadets with Sandy and Big Trev.
Bondi says, RIGHT-O, TEAM.
WE'VE GOT A GREAT WHITE SHARK
STUCK IN A CAVE HERE.
He points to an animated map of Kangaroo Beach. A pulsing dot highlights Charlene’s location.
Sandy says, OKAY, SO, IT'LL BE DARK, AND
SHE'S GOING TO BE SCARED.
NOT A GOOD MIX WHEN YOU'RE
DEALING WITH A WHOPPING GREAT
SHARK.
The cadets look nervous. Bondi scratches his chin thoughtfully.
He says, WE NEED TO GET INTO THAT CAVE
AND ASSESS THE SITUATION SAFELY.
[Neville gasping]
Neville says, WE COULD SEND MY TOY DRONE IN
TO HELP.
He holds up his toy drone.
Bondi says, WELL, GUESS IT'S BETTER THAN
GETTING MUNCHED FOR LUNCH.
The cadets look excited.
Bondi says, ALRIGHT, RESCUE SQUAD.
LET'S BOUNCE.
[Cadets cheering]
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
[Helicopter whirring]
Frizzy flies with Big Trev in the rescue helicopter. Big Trev lowers a large sling using a cable connected to the helicopter. The sling has cables connected to each corner. On the beach, outside the cave, Bondi, with Pounce nearby, steadies the sling.
On the water, in the rescue boat, Sandy, Gemma and Neville wear life vests. Neville flies his toy drone out of Gemma’s hands. He flies the drone into the cave and over Charlene, who looks nervous.
Sandy says, CHARLENE, CAN YOU HEAR
US?
A camera on the drone is pointed at Charlene.
From the boat, sandy says, THIS IS THE LIFEGUARD TEAM.
STAY CALM.
WE'RE GOING TO GET YOU OUT OF
THERE.
Charlene says, HURRY!
THERE COULD BE A SEA MONSTER IN
HERE!
[Drone beeping]
Neville flies the drone around Charlene. Bondi hops over to the water’s edge.
Sandy calls out, CHARLENE'S TAIL IS THREE
METRES INTO THE CAVE.
BUT SHE'S FACING AWAY FROM YOU,
SO YOU SHOULD BE SAFE.
She tosses Bondi a cable connected to the rescue boat.
Bondi says, ALRIGHT!
He hops into the cave with the cable. Inside, Charlene looks scared.
[Charlene gasping]
Bondi ties the cable around Charlene’s tail.
[Charlene whimpering]
Bondi hops back out of the cave.
He says, SHE'S READY!
He hops over to the sling, now laid out flat on the beach. Sandy steers the rescue boat away from the beach, gently pulling Charlene out of the cave by the cable tied to her tail. Charlene slides onto the sling on the beach.
On the boat, Sandy says, ALRIGHT, LET'S GET HERE OUT
OF THERE.
She speaks through a mega phone.
She says, TAKE HER AWAY, TREV!
Big Trev hits a button on the helicopter control panel.
[Clicking]
The cable connected to the sling retracts, and folds the sling on either side of Charlene. It lifts Charlene off the beach.
Charlene wails, WHOA!
Big Trev flies Charlene away from the beach.
Charlene says, WHEE!
Sandy, Neville and Gemma watch Big Trev fly away with Charlene.
Charlene says, THIS IS FUN!
FLYING SHARK COMING THROUGH!
Big Trev lowers Charlene into the water.
[Splashing]
Charlene’s fin pokes out of the water, free from the sling. Big Trev lifts the sling out of the water and returns to the beach. He lands the helicopter beside the other lifeguards and cadets.
[Cheering]
The beachgoers smile at the lifeguards. In the water, Charlene waves.
She says, THANKS, LIFEGUARDS!
YOU'RE AWESOME!
Pounce, Gemma and Frizzy wave.
Sandy says, BYE, CHARLENE!
Bondi says, SEE YOU, CHARLENE.
Neville says, STAY SAFE!
Sandy says, GOOD ON YOU, CHAMP.
Bondi says, NICE ONE.
THANKS, CADETS.
Ghërkinnn wails, JELLYFISH, JELLYFISH!
I SAW IT!
He points to jellyfish in the water.
Ghërkinnn says, JELLYFISH!
Neville says, BETTER GET EVERYONE OUT OF
THE WATER!
He presses a button on his controls and flies his drone.
[Beeping]
Bondi grabs the drone.
He says, OH, NO, YOU DON'T.
He puts the drone on the ground.
He says, THIS RESCUE'S MINE.
Sandy says, MINE!
Big Trev says, MINE!
The three lifeguards run toward the water.
[Cadets laughing]
[Upbeat music plays]
