Marine life navigates the ocean.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, OVER THE OCEAN
AND OVER THE REEF.
THERE'S A SUNNY LITTLE PLACE
CALLED KANGAROO BEACH.
The sun shines brightly over the Kangaroo Beach Lifeguard Headquarters. Text reads, Screen Australia and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation presents, A Cheeky Little Media production. Created by Tim Bain.
The singer sings, FRIZZY, GEMMA,
NEVILLE AND POUNCE.
Frizzy, a koala with blue fur, balances sunglasses on her head. Gemma, a platypus, wears goggles strapped over her head. Neville, a wombat, wears a bucket hat. Pounce, a kangaroo, hops over his friends and down a slide. All the friends wear a red and blue uniform.
The singer and others sing, CADETS IN THE CLUB,
SO COME ON, LET'S BOUNCE.
Gemma, Frizzy and Neville follow Pounce down the slide.
The singer sings, GOOD FRIENDS SURFIN'
SWIMMIN', LEARNIN’
Pounce surfs down the slide. Gemma slides down on her stomach. Fizzy follows with her hands in the air. Neville spins down the slide.
He screams, AAH!
Outside, on the Kangaroo Beach dock, he blows a whistle and points to the water.
[Whistle blaring]
The singer sings, BONDI, SANDY,
BIG TREV TOO.
Bondi and Sandy, kangaroos, speed across the water on a boat with Pounce. Underwater, Frizzy travels in a submarine with Big Trev, a bearded koala with green fur.
The singer sings, TRAININ' WITH THE VERY BEST
LIFEGUARD CREW.
STAYIN' SAFE, BEING BRAVE,
RIDE A WAVE, MAKE A SAVE.
Gemma rides in a helicopter. The lifeguards and junior cadets return to the beach. The cadets surf a big wave.
The singer sings, WE'RE HERE ALL SUMMER,
IT JUST GETS FUNNER.
LET'S HOP DOWN TO...
A large wave crashes into the lifeguards and cadets on the beach.
The singer sings, …KANGAROO BEACH!
Title, Kangaroo Beach. A splash of water reveals the episode title on the beach.
Gemma reads, LIGHTHOUSE STORM.

[Frizzy grunting]
A rolling wave reveals Frizzy climbing on a green surface carrying a red flag.
At the top, she says, HERE COMES FEARLESS EXPLORER,
FRIZZY BEARHEART, CLIMBING OLD
GREY MOUNTAIN.
In the Kangaroo Beach lifeguard headquarters, Frizzy waves her flag on top of Big Trev, who looks annoyed.
Big Trev says, OI, GET OFF THERE!
Frizzy jumps off Big Trev. Behind her, Pounce and Neville check on a surfboard. Gemma looks at an aerial view of the beach on a large monitor.
[Frizzy grunting]
[Frizzy giggling]
Big Trev says, IT'S A LOVELY DAY, WHY DON'T
YOU GO AND EXPLORE OUTSIDE, EH?
[Frizzy gasping]
Frizzy says, GREAT IDEA, GRANDPA!
COMING, CADETS?
Gemma says, HANG ON, LET'S CHECK THE
FORECAST FIRST.
She opens a weather map on the monitor.
She says, ISN'T WEATHER FASCINATING?
Neville, Pounce and Frizzy look at the monitor.
Frizzy says, UH... NO.
BUT HAVE FUN, GEMMA.
BYE!
She leaves with Pounce and Neville. Gemma’s gaze remains on the monitor.
She says, WHOA.
Elsewhere, on the water at the edge of the beach, Ferdinand, a blue and white feathered bird, struggles to start his boat.
[Boat engine sputtering]
Frizzy leads Pounce and Neville across the beach with her flag. Neville pauses and waves to Ferdinand.
Neville says, HI, FERDINAND.
NICE DAY FOR A FISH!
Ferdinand says, TOTES.
He waves to Neville, who continues after his friends. Ferdinand starts his boat and cruises into the ocean.
[Boat engine roaring]
Back at headquarters, Gemma taps a button that shows storm clouds approaching Kangaroo Beach.
[Beeping]
A red light flashes. An icon on the monitor shows Ferdinand moving toward the storm clouds.
Gemma says, OH NO.
THAT'S NOT GOOD.
She looks worried. Outside, the other cadets make their way up a steep path to the lighthouse.
[Heavy breathing]
Frizzy happily says, THIS WAY, FELLOW EXPLORERS.
I SHALL PLANT MY FLAG ATOP OF
THAT BIG WHITE CASTLE.
She points to the lighthouse with her flag.
Pounce says, THE LIGHTHOUSE?
Frizzy says, YEAH, THAT.
Through Frizzy’s radio, Gemma says, FRIZZY?
HELLO?
THERE'S A BIG STORM ABOUT TO
BLOW IN.
Frizzy says, SERIOUSLY?
THERE'S NOT A CLOUD IN THE…
[Thunder rumbling]
Dark clouds fill the sky over Kangaroo Beach. Frizzy, Pounce and Neville turn to the clouds.
Frizzy anxiously says, …SKY.
She, Pounce and Neville look worried.
[Thunder rumbling]
Frizzy looks determined.
She says, FRIZZY BEARHEART CARES NOT FOR
WEATHER.
ADVENTURE NEVER QUITS.
Pounce says, WELL, WE DO.
Neville says, COME ON, FRIZZY, LET'S GO
HOME.
Frizzy says, UH-HUH, RIGHT BEHIND YOU!
Pounce and Neville head back down the path. Frizzy stays and watches them leave.
To her radio, she says, LOG REPORT, FELLOW EXPLORERS ARE
QUITTERS.
I SHALL GO IT ALONE!
[Thunder crashing]
Lightning strikes the lighthouse.
Frizzy yelps, AAH!
She drops her flag and radio. She runs off the path and climbs up a tree.
She yells, HELP!
[Boat engine roaring]
On the water, the sky is dark above Ferdinand. Ferdinand looks at the water splashing against his boat as the waves grow around him.
Ferdinand says, WELL, I SHOULD PROBABLY CALL
IT A DAY.
He turns his boat around.
[Boat engine sputtering]
Ferdinand’s engine stops.
Ferdinand says, OH, YOU'VE GOTTA BE JOKING.
He tries to start the engine. Black smoke billows out.
[Thunder rumbling]
It starts to rain. On the beach, Pounce and Neville hurry back to headquarters.
[Pounce and Neville panting]
Pounce and Neville look behind them.
[Neville gasping]
Neville asks, WHERE'S FRIZZY?
Lightning strikes in the sky.
[Thunder crashing]
On the second floor, Bondi and Sandy stand at the control panel. Sandy answers an alert.
Through a radio, Ferdinand says, HELLO?
LIFEGUARD?
MY BOAT'S BROKEN DOWN SOUTH OF
THE ISLAND.
SEND HELP.
Sandy responds, NO WORRIES, ON IT LIKE A
SEAGULL ON A CHIP.
She leaves Bondi at the controls. Pounce and Neville pass Sandy on the ramp. They run up to Bondi.
[Heavy breathing]
Panting, Pounce says, says, BONDI, FRIZZY'S IN TROUBLE.
Panting, Neville says, WE…
Pounce continues, ….AND LIGHTING AND RAIN AND...
Neville says, …NEED...
Neville says, ...HELP!
FRIZZY!
Pounce says, …YOU HAVE TO GO SAVE HER AND –
Bondi says, NOPE, DIDN'T CATCH A WORD OF
THAT.
At the monitor, Gemma says, I THINK THEY'RE TRYING TO SAY
FRIZZY'S OUT IN THE STORM; YOU'D
BETTER GO FIND HER.
Neville says, YES!
Gemma says, AND HURRY, THE STORM'S
GETTING WORSE!
She points to the monitor that shows the storm moving closer to the beach and Ferdinand moving further into the ocean.
Bondi says, YOU GUYS STAY HERE.
I'LL BE BACK.
He joins Sandy downstairs and hops into the rescue team’s golfcart.
Bondi says, HOLD TIGHT, FRIZZY.
I'M COMING.
On the rescue boat, Sandy says, WHOA, FRIZZY'S OUT IN THAT?
Bondi says, BUT NOT FOR LONG, IF I'VE GOT
ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.
He Sandy head out into the storm.
[Quick music plays]
Bondi looks around him as he drives the cart down a path.
He calls out, FRIZZY?
FRIZZY?
[Frizzy whimpering]
Bondi pulls off the path to the lighthouse, where Frizzy remains hidden in the tree.
Bondi says, HELLO, SUNSHINE.
Frizzy says, FREEZING.
[Frizzy shivering]
Bondi says, FRIZZY, DON'T YOU KNOW A TREE
IS ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS
PLACES TO BE IN A STORM?
Frizzy climbs down the tree. Bondi lifts her off.
Frizzy says, SORRY, I WAS SCARED.
Bondi says, COME ON, LET'S GET YOU HOME.
He returns to headquarters with Frizzy. Neville and Pounce join Frizzy as she climbs down from the cart.
Frizzy says, HOW EMBARRASSING.
NOT MUCH OF AN EXPLORER, AM I?
Neville says, YEAH, YOU ARE, FRIZZY.
COME ON!
LET'S EXPLORE THIS, UH...
He looks around.
He says, …CUPBOARD.
WHO KNOWS WHAT MYSTERIES LIE IN
THE MYSTERIOUS CUPBOARD OF
MYSTERY?
He opens a first aid cupboard and supplies fall out.
[Clanging]
Frizzy smiles softly.
Pounce says, CUPBOARD OF MYSTERY?
YOU CRACK ME UP.
[Frizzy laughing]
Frizzy says, YEAH, GOOD ONE, NEV.
Neville smiles. On the water, Sandy connects Ferdinand’s boat to the lifeguard rescue boat with a cable. Ferdinand rides in the rescue boat with Sandy.
Sandy says, HOME TIME, SAILOR.
She looks out at the water with Ferdinand.
Sandy adds, IF WE CAN FIND HOME.
At headquarters, the junior cadets stand behind Bondi and Big Trev at the controls. Bondi answers a call.
Through her radio, Sandy says, SANDY TO BONDI.
A BIT MURKY OUT HERE.
WE COULD USE A LITTLE LIGHT TO
GUIDE US HOME.
Bondi asks, THE LIGHTHOUSE?
Sandy says, YEP, THAT'LL DO THE TRICK.
Bondi says, NO WORRIES, SANDY.
He pulls up a view of the lighthouse on a monitor.
He says, LET'S LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!
Bondi pulls a lever located beside a picture of a light bulb. A warning sign flashes on the monitor.
[Beeping]
Bondi says, HUH?
Frizzy climbs up onto the control panel.
She says, OH, I SAW IT!
IT GOT HIT BY LIGHTNING.
Bondi checks a view from inside the lighthouse, that shows a burnt light bulb.
Bondi says, WELL, THEN I BETTER REPLACE
THAT LIGHT BULB FAST.
I'LL TAKE IT UP THE BACKTRACK.
Big Trev says, TRACK?
WHAT TRACK?
IT'S TOTALLY BLOCKED BY FALLEN
ROCKS.
He shows a view of fallen rocks on a monitor.
Neville says, FRIZZY'S A GREAT EXPLORER.
I BET SHE COULD FIND A WAY.
Bondi asks, COULD YOU?
Frizzy looks determined.
She says, JUST TRY AND STOP ME!
[Thunder crashing]
Bondi seems hesitant.
He says, MIGHT BE TOO DANGEROUS OUT
THERE.
At the large monitor, Gemma says, THERE'S ABOUT TO BE A SHORT
BREAK IN THE STORM.
IF YOU HURRY, YOU MIGHT MAKE IT
UP THERE IN TIME.
Bondi says, RIGHTO THEN.
LIFEGUARDS TO THE RESCUE.
Frizzy says, LEAD BY FRIZZY BEARHEART.
She stands on Big Trev’s head.
Big Trev says, OI, GET OFF THERE!
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
[Storm rumbling]
On the beach, dark clouds fill the sky. Frizzy points to a collection of boulders.
She says, THIS WAY!
Pounce and Neville follow her up a narrow path. Bondi follows carrying a giant light bulb. Frizzy looks out at a foggy hill.
She says, UM...
WE CAN GO THROUGH HERE!
Frizzy leads the way over a rock. She climbs over a fallen log.
She says, UM...
She looks around.
She says, OVER HERE!
Frizzy continues up the trail blocked by the fallen log.
She says, UM...
The others follow Frizzy. Bondi steps onto the log with the giant light bulb.
[Bondi sighing tiredly]
Frizzy smiles as she continues uphill. She pauses and looks around.
[Thunder rumbling]
Frizzy says, HMM...
Bondi and the other cadets catch up with Frizzy.
Bondi grunts, OKAY, FRIZZY, WHICH WAY?
Frizzy says, UH, UM, AH...
THAT WAY!
She points to a foggy trail. Bondi leads the cadets up the trail.
He suddenly says, WHOA!
Bondi stumbles to the edge of the cliff.
He says, WHOA!
Pounce and Frizzy say, OHH!
[Worried exclamations]
Bondi steadies himself before falling off.
He says, PHEW, THAT WAS CLOSE.
Neville says, I DON'T THINK IT IS THAT WAY,
FRIZZY.
[Neville sniffing]
Neville says, IN FACT...
[Neville sniffing]
Neville says, ...I THINK IT'S THAT WAY!
He points in the opposite direction.
He says, FOLLOW ME!
Neville walks away from the cliff.
[Bondi chuckling]
Bondi says, NICE ONE, NEV.
He and Pounce follow Neville.
Frizzy says, HEY, WAIT FOR ME!
I CAN STILL HELP!
The others wait for Frizzy. Frizzy climbs up Bondi.
[Frizzy grunting]
Bondi says, STEADY ON.
Frizzy climbs up onto the light bulb and above the fog. She looks thoughtful.
She says, THIS WAY!
I THINK.
Bondi says, EASY.
The light bulb tilts forward.
Bondi says, WHOA!
The light bulb slips out of Bondi’s hands. Frizzy falls off.
[Frizzy screaming]
[Dramatic music plays]
Bondi catches Frizzy as the light bulb rolls downhill.
[Bondi and Frizzy gasping]
Pounce says, ROO TO THE RESCUE!
He races after the light bulb. He bounces off a tree and rock, flips in the air, and lands in front of the light bulb. Pounce stops the light bulb with his feet.
He says, GOTCHA!
Bondi puts down Frizzy.
He says, NICE SAVE, POUNCE.
He picks up the light bulb.
Pounce says, PHEW!
[Frizzy groaning sadly]
Neville says, COME ON, FRIZZY BEARHEART.
He waves toward Frizzy, who smiles.
[Thunder rumbling]
On the water, waves roll around the rescue boat.
Through her radio, Sandy says, HOW'S IT GOING UP THERE,
TEAM?
IT'S GETTING DARK.
At the lighthouse, Bondi responds through his radio.
He says, ALL GOOD, SANDY.
Sandy says, I'LL TELL YOU, WE ARE KEEN TO
GET HOME BEFORE THAT STORM MAKES
A COMEBACK.
Bondi says, ALL RIGHT, GIVE ME TWO
MINUTES.
He hands Neville his radio and follows Pounce to the lighthouse with the light bulb.
Frizzy sadly says, I JUST WANTED TO HELP GET THE
LIGHTHOUSE BACK ON, BUT I REALLY
AM A FAILED EXPLORER.
Neville comforts Frizzy.
Bondi says, AH, JUMPING JOEYS!
He pulls at the lighthouse’s locked door.
He says, THINK I FORGOT THE KEY.
At headquarters, Bondi’s keys are on the floor. Gemma watches the storm moving closer to the beach on the large monitor. A warning light flashes on the screen.
[Beeping]
Through her radio, Gemma says, HURRY, BONDI!
THE STORM WILL BE BACK IN A FEW
MINUTES.
[Beeping continues]
[Thunder rumbling]
Lightning flashes in the sky. On the rescue boat, Sandy looks up at the sky.
Through her radio, she says, NO PRESSURE, BUT COULD WE GET
A WRIGGLE ON, TEAM?
Outside the lighthouse, Neville digs in the dirt.
He pops up and says, WE CAN'T GO UNDER IT.
Pounce kicks the locked door.
[Pounce grunting]
Pounce stumbles backward.
He says, WE CAN'T GO THROUGH IT.
Bondi says, THIS IS BAD NEWS, CADETS.
Neville says, IF ONLY SOMEONE
COULD CLIMB UP.
Frizzy says, WAIT, DID SOMEONE SAY
"CLIMB"?
STEP ASIDE, BOYS.
THIS JOB'S FOR FRIZZY BEARHEART!
[Thunder crashing]
Frizzy says, GREAT DRAMATIC TIMING, CLOUDS.
[Thunder rumbling]
Frizzy says, SIT TIGHT.
I'LL BE INSIDE IN NO TIME.
Bondi, Neville and Pounce watch Frizzy climb up the side of the lighthouse.
[Frizzy straining]
Frizzy says, WHO NEEDS A KEY WHEN YOU'VE GOT
A KOALA?
[Frizzy grunting]
Pounce cheers, GO, FRIZZY!
YOU CAN DO IT!
Neville says, JUST DON'T LOOK DOWN.
YOU'RE REALLY HIGH.
[Frizzy straining]
Frizzy climbs to a window on the lighthouse. She jumps onto the window sill, then stumbles backward.
Frizzy yelps, AAH!
[Pounce and Neville gasping]
Pounce grabs onto Neville, who covers his eyes.
Pounce wails, OH, NO!
Frizzy slips. She grabs onto the window sill.
She sighs in relief and says, PHEW!
Frizzy continues up the lighthouse.
[Bondi, Neville and Pounce sighing in relief]
Pounce says, I, I WASN'T WORRIED.
WERE YOU?
Bondi, Neville and Pounce watch Frizzy climb further up the lighthouse. At the top, Frizzy pulls herself over a railing and onto the top platform.
[Frizzy grunting]
Frizzy cheers, YES!
She pulls out her flag.
She says, I HEREBY CLAIM THIS LIGHTHOUSE,
UNDER THE NAME –
Pounce calls out, FRIZZY, THE MISSION!
Frizzy says, OH, YEAH!
She slips under one of the glass panels surrounding the burned light bulb, then climbs down a ladder.
[Lock clicking]
At the bottom, Frizzy opens the lighthouse door.
She says, COME ON IN, FELLAS.
Pounce says, LET'S GO.
Bondi says, NICE ONE!
He picks up the new light bulb. At the top of the lighthouse, he twists the new bulb in place.
Bondi says, THERE.
He dusts off his hands and slides down the ladder to the platform below the light bulb.
He says, NOW...
Frizzy says, LET'S LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!
Bondi says, HEY, THAT'S MY LINE.
[Frizzy giggling]
Frizzy pulls a lever and the giant light bulb lights up. On the water, Sandy looks behind her. The lighthouse light shines through the dark, foggy, cloudy sky.
Sandy cheers, WHOO-HOO!
Through her radio, she says, TOP EFFORT, TEAM!
[Celebratory music plays]
Sandy puts down her radio.
She says, LET'S GO, FERDINAND.
THIS WAY HOME.
She steers the boat back toward the beach.
[Thunder rumbling]
Outside headquarters, it continues to rain.
Inside, Ferdinand says, I GUESS THAT ANSWERS THE
QUESTION, "HOW MANY LIFEGUARDS
DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT
BULB?"
He sits at the table with the junior cadets. Sandy joins them while Bondi works in the kitchen.
Ferdinand says, FOUR.
[Ferdinand laughing]
[Frizzy giggling]
Frizzy says, FIVE, ACTUALLY.
THANKS, GEMMA.
COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT
YOUR STORM REPORTS.
Gemma says, WEATHER WHIZ AT YOUR SERVICE.
Sandy says, ON YA, WEATHER WHIZ.
AND THAT'S A GOOD REMINDER,
ALWAYS CHECK THE WEATHER BEFORE
HEADING INTO THE WATER.
Big Trev says, FLASH FORECAST: I PREDICT
BEDTIME FOR EVERYONE.
Frizzy glances toward Bondi.
She says, AND I PREDICT HOT CHOCOLATE
FOR EVERYONE!
Bondi brings mugs of hot chocolate to the table.
Pounce cheers, WHOO-HOO, HOT CHOCOLATE!
Gemma says, YES, HOT CHOCOLATE!
AWESOME!
Neville cheers, WHOO-HOO!
The cadets each grab a mug.
[Cadets slurping]
Gemma says, AH, YUMMY!
Frizzy says, OH, YUM!
The cadets have hot chocolate smeared above their lips.
Neville says, LOOK AT YOU THREE!
YOU'VE GOT LIKE THE BIGGEST
MOUSTACHES ON EARTH!
[Cadets giggling]

COMING, CADETS?
Gemma says, HANG ON, LET'S CHECK THE
FORECAST FIRST.
She opens a weather map on the monitor.
She says, ISN'T WEATHER FASCINATING?
Neville, Pounce and Frizzy look at the monitor.
Frizzy says, UH... NO.
BUT HAVE FUN, GEMMA.
BYE!
She leaves with Pounce and Neville. Gemma’s gaze remains on the monitor.
She says, WHOA.
Elsewhere, on the water at the edge of the beach, Ferdinand, a blue and white feathered bird, struggles to start his boat.
[Boat engine sputtering]
Frizzy leads Pounce and Neville across the beach with her flag. Neville pauses and waves to Ferdinand.
Neville says, HI, FERDINAND.
NICE DAY FOR A FISH!
Ferdinand says, TOTES.
He waves to Neville, who continues after his friends. Ferdinand starts his boat and cruises into the ocean.
[Boat engine roaring]
Back at headquarters, Gemma taps a button that shows storm clouds approaching Kangaroo Beach.
[Beeping]
A red light flashes. An icon on the monitor shows Ferdinand moving toward the storm clouds.
Gemma says, OH NO.
THAT'S NOT GOOD.
She looks worried. Outside, the other cadets make their way up a steep path to the lighthouse.
[Heavy breathing]
Frizzy happily says, THIS WAY, FELLOW EXPLORERS.
I SHALL PLANT MY FLAG ATOP OF
THAT BIG WHITE CASTLE.
She points to the lighthouse with her flag.
Pounce says, THE LIGHTHOUSE?
Frizzy says, YEAH, THAT.
Through Frizzy’s radio, Gemma says, FRIZZY?
HELLO?
THERE'S A BIG STORM ABOUT TO
BLOW IN.
Frizzy says, SERIOUSLY?
THERE'S NOT A CLOUD IN THE…
[Thunder rumbling]
Dark clouds fill the sky over Kangaroo Beach. Frizzy, Pounce and Neville turn to the clouds.
Frizzy anxiously says, …SKY.
She, Pounce and Neville look worried.
[Thunder rumbling]
Frizzy looks determined.
She says, FRIZZY BEARHEART CARES NOT FOR
WEATHER.
ADVENTURE NEVER QUITS.
Pounce says, WELL, WE DO.
Neville says, COME ON, FRIZZY, LET'S GO
HOME.
Frizzy says, UH-HUH, RIGHT BEHIND YOU!
Pounce and Neville head back down the path. Frizzy stays and watches them leave.
To her radio, she says, LOG REPORT, FELLOW EXPLORERS ARE
QUITTERS.
I SHALL GO IT ALONE!
[Thunder crashing]
Lightning strikes the lighthouse.
Frizzy yelps, AAH!
She drops her flag and radio. She runs off the path and climbs up a tree.
She yells, HELP!
[Boat engine roaring]
On the water, the sky is dark above Ferdinand. Ferdinand looks at the water splashing against his boat as the waves grow around him.
Ferdinand says, WELL, I SHOULD PROBABLY CALL
IT A DAY.
He turns his boat around.
[Boat engine sputtering]
Ferdinand’s engine stops.
Ferdinand says, OH, YOU'VE GOTTA BE JOKING.
He tries to start the engine. Black smoke billows out.
[Thunder rumbling]
It starts to rain. On the beach, Pounce and Neville hurry back to headquarters.
[Pounce and Neville panting]
Pounce and Neville look behind them.
[Neville gasping]
Neville asks, WHERE'S FRIZZY?
Lightning strikes in the sky.
[Thunder crashing]
On the second floor, Bondi and Sandy stand at the control panel. Sandy answers an alert.
Through a radio, Ferdinand says, HELLO?
LIFEGUARD?
MY BOAT'S BROKEN DOWN SOUTH OF
THE ISLAND.
SEND HELP.
Sandy responds, NO WORRIES, ON IT LIKE A
SEAGULL ON A CHIP.
She leaves Bondi at the controls. Pounce and Neville pass Sandy on the ramp. They run up to Bondi.
[Heavy breathing]
Panting, Pounce says, says, BONDI, FRIZZY'S IN TROUBLE.
Panting, Neville says, WE…
Pounce continues, ….AND LIGHTING AND RAIN AND...
Neville says, …NEED...
Neville says, ...HELP!
FRIZZY!
Pounce says, …YOU HAVE TO GO SAVE HER AND –
Bondi says, NOPE, DIDN'T CATCH A WORD OF
THAT.
At the monitor, Gemma says, I THINK THEY'RE TRYING TO SAY
FRIZZY'S OUT IN THE STORM; YOU'D
BETTER GO FIND HER.
Neville says, YES!
Gemma says, AND HURRY, THE STORM'S
GETTING WORSE!
She points to the monitor that shows the storm moving closer to the beach and Ferdinand moving further into the ocean.
Bondi says, YOU GUYS STAY HERE.
I'LL BE BACK.
He joins Sandy downstairs and hops into the rescue team’s golfcart.
Bondi says, HOLD TIGHT, FRIZZY.
I'M COMING.
On the rescue boat, Sandy says, WHOA, FRIZZY'S OUT IN THAT?
Bondi says, BUT NOT FOR LONG, IF I'VE GOT
ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.
He Sandy head out into the storm.
[Quick music plays]
Bondi looks around him as he drives the cart down a path.
He calls out, FRIZZY?
FRIZZY?
[Frizzy whimpering]
Bondi pulls off the path to the lighthouse, where Frizzy remains hidden in the tree.
Bondi says, HELLO, SUNSHINE.
Frizzy says, FREEZING.
[Frizzy shivering]
Bondi says, FRIZZY, DON'T YOU KNOW A TREE
IS ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS
PLACES TO BE IN A STORM?
Frizzy climbs down the tree. Bondi lifts her off.
Frizzy says, SORRY, I WAS SCARED.
Bondi says, COME ON, LET'S GET YOU HOME.
He returns to headquarters with Frizzy. Neville and Pounce join Frizzy as she climbs down from the cart.
Frizzy says, HOW EMBARRASSING.
NOT MUCH OF AN EXPLORER, AM I?
Neville says, YEAH, YOU ARE, FRIZZY.
COME ON!
LET'S EXPLORE THIS, UH...
He looks around.
He says, …CUPBOARD.
WHO KNOWS WHAT MYSTERIES LIE IN
THE MYSTERIOUS CUPBOARD OF
MYSTERY?
He opens a first aid cupboard and supplies fall out.
[Clanging]
Frizzy smiles softly.
Pounce says, CUPBOARD OF MYSTERY?
YOU CRACK ME UP.
[Frizzy laughing]
Frizzy says, YEAH, GOOD ONE, NEV.
Neville smiles. On the water, Sandy connects Ferdinand’s boat to the lifeguard rescue boat with a cable. Ferdinand rides in the rescue boat with Sandy.
Sandy says, HOME TIME, SAILOR.
She looks out at the water with Ferdinand.
Sandy adds, IF WE CAN FIND HOME.
At headquarters, the junior cadets stand behind Bondi and Big Trev at the controls. Bondi answers a call.
Through her radio, Sandy says, SANDY TO BONDI.
A BIT MURKY OUT HERE.
WE COULD USE A LITTLE LIGHT TO
GUIDE US HOME.
Bondi asks, THE LIGHTHOUSE?
Sandy says, YEP, THAT'LL DO THE TRICK.
Bondi says, NO WORRIES, SANDY.
He pulls up a view of the lighthouse on a monitor.
He says, LET'S LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!
Bondi pulls a lever located beside a picture of a light bulb. A warning sign flashes on the monitor.
[Beeping]
Bondi says, HUH?
Frizzy climbs up onto the control panel.
She says, OH, I SAW IT!
IT GOT HIT BY LIGHTNING.
Bondi checks a view from inside the lighthouse, that shows a burnt light bulb.
Bondi says, WELL, THEN I BETTER REPLACE
THAT LIGHT BULB FAST.
I'LL TAKE IT UP THE BACKTRACK.
Big Trev says, TRACK?
WHAT TRACK?
IT'S TOTALLY BLOCKED BY FALLEN
ROCKS.
He shows a view of fallen rocks on a monitor.
Neville says, FRIZZY'S A GREAT EXPLORER.
I BET SHE COULD FIND A WAY.
Bondi asks, COULD YOU?
Frizzy looks determined.
She says, JUST TRY AND STOP ME!
[Thunder crashing]
Bondi seems hesitant.
He says, MIGHT BE TOO DANGEROUS OUT
THERE.
At the large monitor, Gemma says, THERE'S ABOUT TO BE A SHORT
BREAK IN THE STORM.
IF YOU HURRY, YOU MIGHT MAKE IT
UP THERE IN TIME.
Bondi says, RIGHTO THEN.
LIFEGUARDS TO THE RESCUE.
Frizzy says, LEAD BY FRIZZY BEARHEART.
She stands on Big Trev’s head.
Big Trev says, OI, GET OFF THERE!
[Alarm blaring]
[Upbeat music plays]
In a montage, the Kangaroo Beach lifeguards prepare for rescue with radios, first aid kits, and rescue boards. The travel in their rescue vehicles, a helicopter, boat, submarine and golf cart. The junior cadets gather, ready for action, and pose.
[Storm rumbling]
On the beach, dark clouds fill the sky. Frizzy points to a collection of boulders.
She says, THIS WAY!
Pounce and Neville follow her up a narrow path. Bondi follows carrying a giant light bulb. Frizzy looks out at a foggy hill.
She says, UM...
WE CAN GO THROUGH HERE!
Frizzy leads the way over a rock. She climbs over a fallen log.
She says, UM...
She looks around.
She says, OVER HERE!
Frizzy continues up the trail blocked by the fallen log.
She says, UM...
The others follow Frizzy. Bondi steps onto the log with the giant light bulb.
[Bondi sighing tiredly]
Frizzy smiles as she continues uphill. She pauses and looks around.
[Thunder rumbling]
Frizzy says, HMM...
Bondi and the other cadets catch up with Frizzy.
Bondi grunts, OKAY, FRIZZY, WHICH WAY?
Frizzy says, UH, UM, AH...
THAT WAY!
She points to a foggy trail. Bondi leads the cadets up the trail.
He suddenly says, WHOA!
Bondi stumbles to the edge of the cliff.
He says, WHOA!
Pounce and Frizzy say, OHH!
[Worried exclamations]
Bondi steadies himself before falling off.
He says, PHEW, THAT WAS CLOSE.
Neville says, I DON'T THINK IT IS THAT WAY,
FRIZZY.
[Neville sniffing]
Neville says, IN FACT...
[Neville sniffing]
Neville says, ...I THINK IT'S THAT WAY!
He points in the opposite direction.
He says, FOLLOW ME!
Neville walks away from the cliff.
[Bondi chuckling]
Bondi says, NICE ONE, NEV.
He and Pounce follow Neville.
Frizzy says, HEY, WAIT FOR ME!
I CAN STILL HELP!
The others wait for Frizzy. Frizzy climbs up Bondi.
[Frizzy grunting]
Bondi says, STEADY ON.
Frizzy climbs up onto the light bulb and above the fog. She looks thoughtful.
She says, THIS WAY!
I THINK.
Bondi says, EASY.
The light bulb tilts forward.
Bondi says, WHOA!
The light bulb slips out of Bondi’s hands. Frizzy falls off.
[Frizzy screaming]
[Dramatic music plays]
Bondi catches Frizzy as the light bulb rolls downhill.
[Bondi and Frizzy gasping]
Pounce says, ROO TO THE RESCUE!
He races after the light bulb. He bounces off a tree and rock, flips in the air, and lands in front of the light bulb. Pounce stops the light bulb with his feet.
He says, GOTCHA!
Bondi puts down Frizzy.
He says, NICE SAVE, POUNCE.
He picks up the light bulb.
Pounce says, PHEW!
[Frizzy groaning sadly]
Neville says, COME ON, FRIZZY BEARHEART.
He waves toward Frizzy, who smiles.
[Thunder rumbling]
On the water, waves roll around the rescue boat.
Through her radio, Sandy says, HOW'S IT GOING UP THERE,
TEAM?
IT'S GETTING DARK.
At the lighthouse, Bondi responds through his radio.
He says, ALL GOOD, SANDY.
Sandy says, I'LL TELL YOU, WE ARE KEEN TO
GET HOME BEFORE THAT STORM MAKES
A COMEBACK.
Bondi says, ALL RIGHT, GIVE ME TWO
MINUTES.
He hands Neville his radio and follows Pounce to the lighthouse with the light bulb.
Frizzy sadly says, I JUST WANTED TO HELP GET THE
LIGHTHOUSE BACK ON, BUT I REALLY
AM A FAILED EXPLORER.
Neville comforts Frizzy.
Bondi says, AH, JUMPING JOEYS!
He pulls at the lighthouse’s locked door.
He says, THINK I FORGOT THE KEY.
At headquarters, Bondi’s keys are on the floor. Gemma watches the storm moving closer to the beach on the large monitor. A warning light flashes on the screen.
[Beeping]
Through her radio, Gemma says, HURRY, BONDI!
THE STORM WILL BE BACK IN A FEW
MINUTES.
[Beeping continues]
[Thunder rumbling]
Lightning flashes in the sky. On the rescue boat, Sandy looks up at the sky.
Through her radio, she says, NO PRESSURE, BUT COULD WE GET
A WRIGGLE ON, TEAM?
Outside the lighthouse, Neville digs in the dirt.
He pops up and says, WE CAN'T GO UNDER IT.
Pounce kicks the locked door.
[Pounce grunting]
Pounce stumbles backward.
He says, WE CAN'T GO THROUGH IT.
Bondi says, THIS IS BAD NEWS, CADETS.
Neville says, IF ONLY SOMEONE
COULD CLIMB UP.
Frizzy says, WAIT, DID SOMEONE SAY
"CLIMB"?
STEP ASIDE, BOYS.
THIS JOB'S FOR FRIZZY BEARHEART!
[Thunder crashing]
Frizzy says, GREAT DRAMATIC TIMING, CLOUDS.
[Thunder rumbling]
Frizzy says, SIT TIGHT.
I'LL BE INSIDE IN NO TIME.
Bondi, Neville and Pounce watch Frizzy climb up the side of the lighthouse.
[Frizzy straining]
Frizzy says, WHO NEEDS A KEY WHEN YOU'VE GOT
A KOALA?
[Frizzy grunting]
Pounce cheers, GO, FRIZZY!
YOU CAN DO IT!
Neville says, JUST DON'T LOOK DOWN.
YOU'RE REALLY HIGH.
[Frizzy straining]
Frizzy climbs to a window on the lighthouse. She jumps onto the window sill, then stumbles backward.
Frizzy yelps, AAH!
[Pounce and Neville gasping]
Pounce grabs onto Neville, who covers his eyes.
Pounce wails, OH, NO!
Frizzy slips. She grabs onto the window sill.
She sighs in relief and says, PHEW!
Frizzy continues up the lighthouse.
[Bondi, Neville and Pounce sighing in relief]
Pounce says, I, I WASN'T WORRIED.
WERE YOU?
Bondi, Neville and Pounce watch Frizzy climb further up the lighthouse. At the top, Frizzy pulls herself over a railing and onto the top platform.
[Frizzy grunting]
Frizzy cheers, YES!
She pulls out her flag.
She says, I HEREBY CLAIM THIS LIGHTHOUSE,
UNDER THE NAME –
Pounce calls out, FRIZZY, THE MISSION!
Frizzy says, OH, YEAH!
She slips under one of the glass panels surrounding the burned light bulb, then climbs down a ladder.
[Lock clicking]
At the bottom, Frizzy opens the lighthouse door.
She says, COME ON IN, FELLAS.
Pounce says, LET'S GO.
Bondi says, NICE ONE!
He picks up the new light bulb. At the top of the lighthouse, he twists the new bulb in place.
Bondi says, THERE.
He dusts off his hands and slides down the ladder to the platform below the light bulb.
He says, NOW...
Frizzy says, LET'S LIGHT UP THE NIGHT!
Bondi says, HEY, THAT'S MY LINE.
[Frizzy giggling]
Frizzy pulls a lever and the giant light bulb lights up. On the water, Sandy looks behind her. The lighthouse light shines through the dark, foggy, cloudy sky.
Sandy cheers, WHOO-HOO!
Through her radio, she says, TOP EFFORT, TEAM!
[Celebratory music plays]
Sandy puts down her radio.
She says, LET'S GO, FERDINAND.
THIS WAY HOME.
She steers the boat back toward the beach.
[Thunder rumbling]
Outside headquarters, it continues to rain.
Inside, Ferdinand says, I GUESS THAT ANSWERS THE
QUESTION, "HOW MANY LIFEGUARDS
DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT
BULB?"
He sits at the table with the junior cadets. Sandy joins them while Bondi works in the kitchen.
Ferdinand says, FOUR.
[Ferdinand laughing]
[Frizzy giggling]
Frizzy says, FIVE, ACTUALLY.
THANKS, GEMMA.
COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT
YOUR STORM REPORTS.
Gemma says, WEATHER WHIZ AT YOUR SERVICE.
Sandy says, ON YA, WEATHER WHIZ.
AND THAT'S A GOOD REMINDER,
ALWAYS CHECK THE WEATHER BEFORE
HEADING INTO THE WATER.
Big Trev says, FLASH FORECAST: I PREDICT
BEDTIME FOR EVERYONE.
Frizzy glances toward Bondi.
She says, AND I PREDICT HOT CHOCOLATE
FOR EVERYONE!
Bondi brings mugs of hot chocolate to the table.
Pounce cheers, WHOO-HOO, HOT CHOCOLATE!
Gemma says, YES, HOT CHOCOLATE!
AWESOME!
Neville cheers, WHOO-HOO!
The cadets each grab a mug.
[Cadets slurping]
Gemma says, AH, YUMMY!
Frizzy says, OH, YUM!
The cadets have hot chocolate smeared above their lips.
Neville says, LOOK AT YOU THREE!
YOU'VE GOT LIKE THE BIGGEST
MOUSTACHES ON EARTH!
[Cadets giggling]
[Upbeat music plays]
