A blue slate pops into view; the title of the show is overwritten in capital golden letters. It reads "The lady vocab show."

Professor P says HELLO, AND
WELCOME TO THE LADY VOCAB SHOW,
STARRING ME, PROFESSOR P AND OUR
WIZARD OF THE WORDS, LADY VOCAB!

Professor P is in his late twenties; he has short, dark, curly hair, a moustache and dark rimmed square glasses. He’s wearing a dark grey sweater over a white shirt and tie.

Lady Vocab says THANKS, PROFESSOR
P, ARE YOU READY TO GET DOWN
WITH THE DICTIONARY?

Lady Vocab is in her thirties; she has straight blond hair in a bob and wears a plastic striped black and white dress that reads "window shuttle, machine package, magnetic over" with black leather gloves and square futuristic white glasses.
She stands in front of an old fashioned metal microphone.
A sign behind her reads "Vocab" in a column decreasing in size.

Professor P stands in front of a keyboard and says OH YES, MILADY.
THE WORD OF THIS WEEK IS

He turns and uncovers a whiteboard as he reads EQUATOR!
IT IS A CIRCULAR LINE THAT
DIVIDES A SPHERE INTO TWO EQUAL
PARTS.

Lady Vocab says OH, LIKE THE
EARTH'S EQUATOR, WHICH DIVIDES
IT INTO TWO PARTS; THE NORTHERN
AND SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE.

The word appears on screen in large purple block letters.

Professor P says SHARP AS USUAL,
MILADY.
THE EARTH'S EQUATOR DIVIDES OUR
PLANET IN HALF.

Lady Vocab looks up as if remembering as she says YOU KNOW, I
WASN'T ALWAYS SO SHARP ABOUT
MATTERS OF THE EQUATOR.

Professor P says NONSENSE,
MALADY.

Lady Vocab takes off her glasses and says OH, NO.
WHEN I WAS A YOUNG GIRL GROWING
UP, JUST A BABY VOCAB, I DIDN'T
KNOW WHICH HEMISPHERE WAS THE
BIGGEST!

Professor P says AND HOW DID YOU
DISCOVER THE ANSWER?

Lady Vocab says THE SAME WAY I
DO, ALL MY ANSWERS.
I OPENED UP THE DICTIONARY AND
LEARNED A WAY.
THEY'RE EQUAL.

Professor P says THAT'S RIGHT.

Lady Vocab says ARE YOU READY?

Professor P says YEP.

Lady Vocab points to the keyboard and says HIT IT!

She spells out the word and the letters flash on screen E-Q-U-A-T-O-R

Then she sings IT STRETCHES OUT REALLY FAR
TRUST ME, FRIEND, THE NORTH
AND SOUTH POLE ON EITHER END
DIVIDES THE WORLD IN TWO, IT'S
TRUE, DON'T BE A HATER
LOVE THE EQUATOR
DON'T BE A HATER
LOVE THE EQUATOR
OOO

The word pops on the screen and flashes again and again.

Professor P says WELL, THAT'S
ABOUT ALL THE TIME WE HAVE FOR
TODAY'S SHOW, REMEMBER, DON'T BE
A HATER, LOVE THE EQUATOR.
TUNE IN NEXT TIME.

She sings DON'T BE A HATER

[Music playing]

She sings LOVE THE EQUATOR

They keep dancing as the image fades to black and a logo of TVO Kids appears.
