A blue slate pops into view; the title of the show is overwritten in capital golden letters. It reads "The lady vocab show."

Professor P says HELLO, AT HOME,
AND WELCOME TO THE LADY VOCAB
SHOW!
I'M YOUR HOST, PROFESSOR P, AND
NOW, INTRODUCING THE ALWAYS
ENTERTAINING AND EDUCATIONAL,
LADY

Professor P is in his late twenties; he has short, dark, curly hair, a moustache and dark rimmed square glasses. He’s wearing a dark grey sweater over a white shirt and tie.

Lady Vocab screams SAVE OUR
DICTIONARIES!
BIGGER WORDS FOR BIGGER
THOUGHTS!

Professor P says LADY VOCAB,
WHAT'S GOING ON?

Lady Vocab raises her hand as she says IT'S TIME TO
PROTEST!
ARE YOU READY TO WARBLE THE
WORD?

Lady Vocab is in her thirties; she has straight blond hair in a bob and wears a plastic striped black and white dress that reads "window shuttle, machine package, magnetic over" with black leather gloves and square futuristic white glasses.
She stands in front of an old fashioned metal microphone.
A sign behind her reads "Vocab" in a column decreasing in size.

Professor P stands in front of a keyboard and says OH YES, THE WORD
OF THE WEEK MILADY, IS

He turns around and uncovers a whiteboard as he reads PROTEST!
IT IS A NOUN AND A VERB.
IT MEANS, AN EXPRESSION OF
DISAPPROVAL OR OBJECTION.
YOU CAN PROTEST OR GO TO A
PROTEST, AS IN, I PROTESTED THE
LAWS AT THE PROTEST!

Lady Vocab says WOW, THAT'S A LOT
OF OBJECTION, PROFESSOR P!

Professor P nods as he says YOU SAID IT,
SISTER.

Lady Vocab takes off her glasses as she says YOU KNOW, WHEN I
WAS JUST A YOUNG GIRL GROWING
UP, I DREAMT THAT EVERYONE WOULD
USE THE PROPER FORMS OF WORDS.

Professor P says USE IT BEFORE
YOU LOSE IT!
IT'S TIME TO PROTEST!

Lady Vocab says EXACTLY, BUT
EVERYONE KEPT USING
ABBREVIATIONS!

Professor P frowns and asks SAY WHAT?
SHORT FORMS OF WORDS,
EVERYWHERE?

Lady Vocab opens her arms and yells THEY KEPT POPPING
UP IN TEXT MESSAGES!

Professor P raises his fist as he says OH, THE HORROR!
IT'S TIME TO PROTEST!

Lady Vocab says EXACTLY!
I DON'T KNOW WHAT LOL MEANS, BUT
I LOVE TO LAUGH OUT LOUD!
END ABBREVIATIONS!

Professor P says END SLANG, NOW!

Lady Vocab says IT'S TIME TO HIT
IT!

She points to the keyboard and spells out the word. The letters pop up on screen as she says P-R-O-T-E-S-T

She then sings THAT'S WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU
WANNA CHANGE THINGS
P-R-O-T-E-S-T
THAT'S WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU
WANNA CHANGE THINGS
DON'T LIKE SOMETHING, IT'S
SECOND BEST
SO I'M GOIN', I'M GOIN' TO
PROTEST
TAKE THE TIME, MAKE A SIGN
BRING JUSTICE
EVERYONE GET TOGETHER
AND PROTEST

She dances as the word slides across the screen and Professor P plays the tambourine.

He sings WHEN SOMETHING IS UNFAIR
YOU PROTEST

He says BECAUSE YOU CARE

She sings PROTEST, PROTEST, PROTEST
PROTEST
PROTEST

The word flashes on screen in bright purple.

[Music playing]

Professor P says THERE YOU HAVE
IT, FOLKS, IT'S NO JEST, BUT
TIME TO PROTEST!
SEE YOU NEXT TIME, FOR THE NEXT
LADY VOCAB SHOW!

She says PROTEST, YEAHHH, YEAH

[Music playing]

They keep dancing as the image fades to black and a logo of TVO Kids appears.
