Howie, a young boy, and his monkey,
Baboo, approach a purple flower in a
tall grassy field. A bee flies past them.
Day turns to night. Howie and Baboo
take off into space on a rocket ship.
Clothes spin in a dryer. Howie and
Baboo watch as they rotate their heads
with the cycle. A snail in an orange shell
crawls on a leaf. Rain falls. Howie
holds up a colourful umbrella for him and
Baboo. A rainbow appears in a blue sky.
Howie and Baboo float up in a yellow and
purple hot air balloon. An airplane flies
past them.

Kids shout, “NOW YOU KNOW”

Text reads, “Created by Ben Mazzotta

Howie asks,
“WHERE DOES FOOD COME FROM?”

Baboo adds, “YEAH.”

A wooden door opens. Howie and Baboo
work in a laboratory inside. Baboo has an
eyepatch and Howie wears a lab coat and
black gloves.

Howie states, “I AM THE GREAT
AND BRILLIANT SCIENTIST
PROFESSOR HOWENSTEIN.”

(Sinister laugh)

Professor Howenstein continues,
“AND TODAY I WANT
TO SHOW YOU
MY LATEST INVENTION.”

Professor Howenstein points to a
high-tech microwave on a table.

Professor Howenstein says,
“THE FOOD-IN-ATOR!”

Babor responds,
“DUM DUM DUM!”

Professor Howenstein continues,
“WITH THIS INVENTION
I CAN CREATE ANY FOOD I WISH!”

(Sinister laugh)

Professor Howenstein says, “BABOR!”

Babor replies, “YES.”

Professor Howenstein adds,
“HAMBURGER PLEASE.”

Babor replies, “OKAY. HMMM.”

(Beeping sounds)

Babor presses buttons at a green computer
console. In the Food-in-ator, a bright flash
reveals strawberries inside a hamburger bun.

Professor Howenstein says,
“STRANGE.
THAT'S NOT A HAMBURGER.
MORE LIKE
A HAM-BERRY.
TRY AGAIN,
BABOR!”

Babor replies, “OKAY.

Babor flips the switch again. A bright flash
reveals a lemon in a watermelon rind
inside the Food-in-ator.

Professor Howenstein responds,
“I GUESS YOU COULD CALL
THAT ONE A WATER-LEMON.
AGAIN, BABOR!”

Babor replies, “OKAY!”

(Makes beeping sounds)

Babor presses buttons on the console.
A taco shell filled with chocolate bars
appears inside the Food-in-ator.

Professor Howenstein says, “WHOA.
WELL THAT ONE
LOOKS MORE LIKE...
LIKE A CHOCO-TACO.”

Professor Howenstein nods.

Babor adds,
“OH, THAT'S A NICE ONE.”

Howie wakes up from a daydream in his
kitchen. The Food-in-ator is made
of cardboard.

Howie states, “HEY WOULDN'T IT
BE COOL BABOO,
IF WE COULD
MAKE FOOD APPEAR
RIGHT OUT OF
THIN AIR!”

Baboo replies,
“OH YEAH.”

Howie says,
“WOW.
HEY, DO YOU EVER WONDER
WHERE FOOD EVEN COMES FROM?”

Baboo responds, “YES.”

Howie and Baboo look deep in thought.
They turn one another quickly.

Howie asks, “ARE YOU THINKING
WHAT I'M THINKING?”

Baboo replies,
“I WANNA CHOCO-TACO.”

Howie says, “NO!
TIME TO PUT OUT
A QUESTION ALERT!”

Baboo responds, “YEAH!”

Howie taps his wristwatch. A question
mark appears on the red face. The
question mark disappears.

Howie says, “QUICK!
TO THE SECRET HEADQUARTERS!”

Baboo replies, “NO CHOCO-TACO?”

Howie responds,
“NO TIME FOR THAT.”

(Gibberish)

Howie and Baboo laugh. They rush
out of the kitchen. The sun shines
brightly on Howie’s treehouse in his
backyard. He hurries to a computer
inside. Baboo follows and bumps
into Howie.

Howie says, “OOH!
LET'S SEE WHO ANSWERED
THE QUESTION ALERT BABOO.”

Baboo replies,
“OKAY!”

Howie presses a button on the keyboard.
Nine kids appear on the computer screen.

They all say, “HI HOWIE. HI BABOO.”

Howie replies,
“HEY THERE QUESTIONEERS.
TODAY'S QUESTION IS,
WHERE DOES
FOOD COME FROM?”

Baboo adds, “I LIKE
TO EAT FOOD.”

A girl with pigtails answers,
“FOOD COMES FROM THE BAKERY.”

A dark-haired boy says,
“GROCERY STORES!”

A girl wearing a matching purple
hat and dress adds,
“FOOD COMES FROM FARMS.”

A dark-haired girl with glasses says,
“WHERE THE CROPS ARE.”
A girl wearing a flower print dress says,
“FOOD COMES FROM ANIMALS.”

A girl wearing a white t-shirt adds,
“FOOD COMES FROM LAND.”

A girl with a ponytail replies,
“IT COMES FROM TREES.”
IT CAN COME FROM LIKE SOIL.”

A boy in a red polo shirt states,
“THE KITCHEN.”

A girl in a black floral dress adds,
“FOOD COMES FROM MY FRIDGE.”

Howie says,
“OH, THOSE WERE SOME
REALLY AWESOME ANSWERS.”

Baboo adds,
“YES, THEY WERE.”

Howie continues, “HMM.
I WONDER IF THERE'S
AN EXPERT OUT THERE
WHO COULD HELP US
WITH TODAY'S QUESTION.”

Baboo responds, “I WONDER.”

A man standing in a grocery store
appears on the computer screen.

He says, “HI, YOU TWO.”

Howie responds,
“HEY, LOOK IT'S KAMRAN.
KAMRAN'S A MANAGER
OF A GROCERY STORE.”

Baboo nods.

Howie says, “HI KAMRAN.”

Kamran responds,
“I HEAR YOU'RE WONDERING
WHERE FOOD COMES FROM.”

Howie replies, “OH WE SURE ARE.”

Kamran adds,
“WHY DON'T YOU VISIT ME
AT THE GROCERY STORE
AND WE CAN SEE WHAT
WE CAN DISCOVER TOGETHER?”

Howie responds,
“OKIE DOKIE.
WE'LL BE RIGHT THERE.
HA HA.
COME ON BABOO.”

Howie and Baboo enter the grocery
store. Tall displays of fruits and
vegetables line the walls.

Howie says, “WHOA.
LOOK AT THE SIZE
OF THIS PLACE.”

Kamran waves.

He says,
“HI THERE YOU TWO.”

Howie replies, “HI KAMRAN.
THANKS FOR HAVING US
HERE TODAY.”

Baboo rubs his stomach.

He adds, “UMM. AHEM.
BANANAS.”

Kamran replies,
“SURE THING, BABOO.
WE DO HAVE BANANAS
IN THE PRODUCE SECTION.
RIGHT NEXT TO THE APPLES.”

(Frantic sounds)

Baboo runs away from Howie
and Kamran.

(Laughs)

Howie turns to Kamran.

Howie states,
“UH, HE LIKES BANANAS.
HEY KAMRAN,
HOW MANY DIFFERENT KINDS
OF FOOD DO YOU HAVE HERE?”

Kamran answers,
“WE HAVE MANY DIFFERENT
KINDS OF FOODS HERE.
YOU WANNA HAVE A LOOK?”

Howie replies, “OH YEAH.”

Kamran adds, “LET'S GO.”

Howie responds, “GREAT!”

Baboo sings as he passes through
the bakery section. He opens a fridge
door. Baboo finds a large display of
ripe bananas. He looks excited as he
lays on the display.

Baboo shouts, “BANANAS!
HMMM. HMMM.
HMM.
HAHA HAHA!”

Howie and Kamran walk down a
grocery aisle.

Howie states,
“SO THIS IS WHERE
FOOD COMES FROM.”

Kamran replies,
“NOT EXACTLY HOWIE.
ALL THIS FOOD YOU SEE
ON THE SHELVES
CAME FROM ALL SORTS
OF DIFFERENT PLACES.”

The sun shines on the silos of a
large farm.

Kamran continues,
“MOST OF THE FOODS
WE GET LIKE WHEAT,
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
ARE GROWN ON FARMS
OR GREENHOUSES.”

Howie says, “AND THEN
THE FOOD COMES HERE.”

Kamran responds,
“NOT YET HOWIE.
MOST OF THESE RAW FOODS
GO TO MANY DIFFERENT FACTORIES
AND TURN INTO OTHER FOODS.”

Howie asks, “OH LIKE WHAT?”

Kamran answers,
“TAKE BREAD FOR INSTANCE,
WHEAT FROM THE FARM
GOES TO A MILL,
WHERE THEY GRIND IT
INTO FLOUR.
THEN IT GOES
TO ANOTHER FACTORY
WHERE THEY BAKE IT
INTO BREAD AND PACKAGE IT.”

Packaged bread travels on an assembly
line, and out of a factory.

Howie asks,
“AND THEN IT COMES HERE?”

Brown cardboard boxes are stacked
in a large warehouse.

Kamran replies,
“ALMOST HOWIE.
ALL THOSE FOODS GO TO
OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTION FACILITY,
WHICH IS A HUGE BUILDING
WHERE OUR TRUCKS ARE LOADED UP
WITH BOXES OF FOOD
TO GO TO ALL OF OUR MANY
DIFFERENT GROCERY STORES.”

A tractor-trailer leaves a distribution facility.

Howie asks, “AND THEN
THE FOOD COMES HERE?”

Kamran responds,
“THAT'S RIGHT HOWIE.
THIS IS WHERE WE
STOCK ALL THE FOODS.
AND MAKE SURE THAT IT'S FRESH
FOR OUR CUSTOMERS.
WE HAVE FOOD FROM
THE NEARBY FARM
AND ALL AROUND
THE WORLD.”

Baboo eats a banana as he
approaches Howie and Kamran.
Howie turns to Kamran.

Howie says, “UMM…”

Howie looks back at a display of
apples.

He continues,
“I WAS JUST WONDERING
IF MAYBE I COULD…”

Kamran replies,
“HELP YOURSELF HOWIE.”

Howie pants. He takes a bite of a
yellow and red apple.

He responds,
“MMMM, MMM YUMMY.
LET ME SEE IF I HAVE
THIS STRAIGHT KAMRAN.
FOOD STARTS OUT AT FARMS
AND GREENHOUSES,
AND SOMETIMES THEY TAKE
THAT FOOD TO FACTORIES
TO MAKE IT INTO OTHER FOODS.
THEN IT GETS LOADED
INTO A GREAT BIG BUILDING
AND THEN TRUCKS PICK IT UP
AND FINALLY
IT COMES HERE
TO THE GROCERY STORE.”

Kamran states,
“YOU GOT IT HOWIE.”

Howie asks,
“HOW ABOUT YOU?
DO YOU SEE NOW WHERE
FOOD COMES FROM
AND HOW IT GETS TO
THE GROCERY STORE?
YOU DO? GREAT!
WELL, NOW YOU KNOW!”

(Baboo repeats in gibberish)

Howie and Baboo sing,
“ASK, ASK, ASK ASK
A QUESTION.
FIND, FIND, FIND
FIND AN ANSWER.
NOW, NOW, NOW NOW,
NOW NOW YOU KNOW.
CONCLUSION.
ASK, ASK, ASK ASK
A QUESTION.
FIND, FIND, FIND
FIND AN ANSWER.
NOW, NOW, NOW NOW,
NOW NOW YOU KNOW.”

Howie says, “NOW YOU KNOW!”

Howie stands at a check-out counter.

He adds, “AND REMEMBER,
YOU CAN'T GET AN ANSWER
UNLESS YOU
ASK A QUESTION.
SO KEEP ASKING
QUESTIONS, 'KAY?”

Baboo rolls a cart filled with bananas
and a few apples to the
check-out counter.

Howie says, “BABOO!
THAT'S A LOT
OF APPLES AND BANANAS!”

Baboo replies, “JACKPOT!”

Howie and Baboo laugh.
