An animated clip shows a big orange X on a blue background. It explodes and letters and numbers come out of it in all directions and float around.

Mathemagician Eric appears on screen. He’s in his mid-twenties. He has short dark brown hair and a beard. He wears a red T-shirt with the show’s logo, blue jeans and red Tennis shoes.

The screen turns red and the logo of the show appears next. It reads "MathXplosion." Meanwhile, cones, cubes and dices float around it.

Kids voices sing a song with lyrics that go
WHAT A HIT
IT'S NOT A TRICK
IT'S MATHXPLOSION
JUST FOR YOU
COOL AND NEW
MATHXPLOSION!

The episode starts with Eric standing in a workroom having a hard time with a measuring tape that he can’t seem to handle properly.

Eric says OH, NEVER MIND!
DID YOU KNOW THAT
MOST ADULTS
ARE ABOUT EIGHT OF
THEIR OWN HEADS TALL?
IT'S TRUE.

(music plays)

He pulls out a blue cube that spills out little Eric’s heads that add up on the base of the screen. As the heads appear, numbers pop up next to them. The numbers go up to 8 and reach Eric’s actual height.

He looks at them and says HEY, GUYS,
LOOKING GOOD.
WHERE WAS I?
OH, RIGHT.
I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU AN
AMAZING DRAWING TRICK
TO PROVE HOW MOST ADULTS
ARE ABOUT EIGHT HEADS TALL.
CHECK IT OUT.
HEY, GUYS, I'M
GONNA HEAD OUT.
HA HA HA, HEAD OUT;
IT'S A PUN.

(music plays)

Next, Eric gets ready for a new tick. He holds a purple paper sheet and a marker.

He says THIS ALL HAS TO DO
WITH PROPORTION:
THE SIZE OF ONE BODY PART
COMPARED TO ANOTHER.
FIRST, LET'S START BY
DRAWING MY HEAD.

(music plays)

He covers his face with the paper sheet and draws an oval shape the size of his actual head. Next, he cuts that out. One side is purple, the other side is blue.

Eric says THERE WE GO, GOT IT!
WHEN WE DRAW
PEOPLE'S HEADS,
WE USUALLY USE
AN OVAL SHAPE,
AS THAT'S WHAT GREAT
ARTISTS DO.

He moves next to a board and uses the oval paper cutout as a mold to draw a pile of ovals using a chalk.

Eric does the first one, then says NICE.
NOW, I WILL DRAW SEVEN MORE
OF THIS SAME-SIZED OVAL
ON TOP OF THE FIRST ONE.

(music plays)

He reaches the height he wanted and stops. He stands next to the pile and compares his height with the level reached by the pile.

He says TA-DA!
THAT'S MY BODY HEIGHT.
AND BEFORE YOU GET
TOO CARRIED AWAY,
HERE'S ONE OTHER
SECRET I'LL TELL YOU.

A clip plays. The drawing of a man appears on a striped surface with numbers from 1 to 8 to the side. Each line has a number. The man in the drawing goes up to to the top.

Eric says AS YOU CAN SEE, GROWNUPS ARE
ABOUT EIGHT HEADS TALL.
BUT IF YOU'RE
10 YEARS OLD,
YOU'RE ABOUT SEVEN OF
YOUR OWN HEADS TALL.
AND IF YOU'RE 6 YEARS OLD,
YOU ARE SIX HEADS TALL.

As he speaks, a girl and a little boy appear next to the man. They spin alternating the actual figure with its equivalent in ovals corresponding to the head.

Eric continues
THERE YOU HAVE IT.
ABOUT EIGHT OF MY
OWN HEADS TALL.
COOL.
CHECK THIS OUT.

(music plays)

Eric draws a circle and colours it inside. He taps on it and a new clip plays. The screen shows a new striped paper sheet with an eight-headed pile. The clip shows the transition from that vertical graphic to the actual drawing of a human figure by adding ovals to the sides and connecting them with lines.

Eric says NOW THAT YOU'VE GOT THE
STACK OF EIGHT HEADS,
HERE'S AN EASY WAY TO DRAW
THE BODY IN PROPORTION.
JUST TURN TWO HEADS ON
THEIR SIDE HORIZONTALLY
WHERE THE SHOULDERS
WOULD BE,
AROUND THE SECOND
HEAD OF HEIGHT.
NOW, COUNT FOUR
HEADS DOWN.
DRAW TWO HEADS
SIDE BY SIDE HERE.
THIS TIME KEEP THEM
VERTICAL TO CREATE HIPS.
ADD FOUR VERTICAL
HEADS FOR THE LEGS.
NOW, CONNECT THEM
ALL TOGETHER
WITH YOUR AMAZING
DRAWING SKILLS.

Eric appears back in the workroom.

He says NOW, ALL YOU APPRENTICES,
GET OUT YOUR ART SUPPLIES
AND DRAW.
JUST REMEMBER, A PARENT IS
ABOUT EIGHT HEADS TALL.
A 10-YEAR-OLD IS ABOUT
SEVEN HEADS TALL.
A 6-YEAR-OLD IS ABOUT
SIX HEADS TALL.
AGES IN BETWEEN WILL FALL
SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN.
AND REMEMBER, IT'S
NOT MAGIC, IT'S MATH.

A big explosion brings the show’s logo back on the screen.
