An animated clip shows a big orange X on a blue background. It explodes and letters and numbers come out of it in all directions and float around.

Mathemagician Eric appears on screen. He’s in his mid-twenties. He has short dark brown hair and a beard. He wears a red T-shirt with the show’s logo, blue jeans and red Tennis shoes.

The screen turns red and the logo of the show appears next. It reads "MathXplosion." Meanwhile, cones, cubes and dices float around it.

Kids voices sing a song with lyrics that go
WHAT A HIT
IT'S NOT A TRICK
IT'S MATHXPLOSION
JUST FOR YOU
COOL AND NEW
MATHXPLOSION!

The episode starts with Eric standing in a workroom, he grabs colourful balls in different sizes that fall from above. He puts them on circular stands. As he speaks, numbers appear on top of the balls.

Eric says ONE KILO.
3 KILOS.
AND NOW, FOR THE
HEAVIEST ONE I HAVE,
7 KILOS!

The big 7-kilo blue ball falls next.

He catches it and says WHOA!
THAT'S HEAVY.
WHILE I MAY HAVE MASTERED
THE ART OF CATCHING
7 KILOS WITH GRACE AND
SUPER STRENGTH,
DID YOU KNOW THAT
NOT ALL 7-KILO OBJECTS
LOOK THE SAME?
IN FACT, I'LL SHOW YOU A
TRICK TO PROVE IT.
BUT FIRST...

He grabs a red ball, shakes it and it turns into a yellow ball.

He says NICE.

(music plays)

Now Eric gets ready to start a new project.

He says THERE WE GO.
THAT SHOULD
BE ENOUGH.

He has gathered large plastic bags full of blue small pieces.

He says HERE'S AN AMAZING WAY
TO SHOW THAT WEIGHT
IS NOT AT ALL THE
SAME AS SIZE.
FIRST, FIND
SOMETHING HEAVY.

(music plays)

He grabs the 7-kilo ball and says THIS MEDICINE BALL
SHOULD DO.
IT'S PRETTY HEAVY.
NEXT, RECORD
ITS WEIGHT.

(music plays)

He puts it in a bag and continues. Next, he weighs the ball using a scale.

He says 7 KILOS, GREAT.
NEXT, FIGURE OUT
HOW MUCH 7 KILOS IS
WITH SOMETHING
LIGHT LIKE THESE
ADORABLE PACKING
PEANUTS.
I LOVE PACKING
PEANUTS.

(music plays)

He grabs one of the bags and weights it.

He says 2.3 KILOS.
THAT'S ABOUT
2 and 1 third KILOS.
SO, THAT WOULD MEAN THAT YOU
NEED THREE OF THESE BAGS
TO WEIGH ABOUT 7 KILOS.
SAME AS THIS
MEDICINE BALL.
7 KILOS.

A caption that reads "2.3" appears over each plastic bag. Next, packing peanuts drop on his head. He doesn’t look surprised.

Putting a serious voice and face, he says TA-DA!
I'VE WITHSTOOD THE
FORCE OF 7 KILOS.

Birds tweet, he falls to the floor and lies down over the packing peanuts. Some come into his mouth so he spits them out.

He says UGH!

(music plays)

Eric draws a circle and colours it inside. He taps on it and a new clip plays. A series of pictures show instruments used to measure distances and weight. A scale used in the kitchen and a measuring tape are some of them.

Eric says CHECK THIS OUT.
THE COOLEST THING
ABOUT SCALES
IS THAT THEY COME
IN ALL DIFFERENT
SHAPES AND SIZES.
THERE ARE SCALES TO
MEASURE TRUCKS, BABIES,
PETS, AND EVEN THE
FRUITS AND VEGGIES
YOU BUY AT THE
GROCERY STORE.
KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR
DIFFERENT SCALES
IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD.

Eric appears back in the workroom with the colourful balls.

He says THERE YOU HAVE IT.
I'VE SHARED ANOTHER
AMAZING SECRET
TO ASTOUND YOUR
FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
ALL YOU NEED IS
SOMETHING HEAVY
AND A LOT OF
SOMETHING LIGHT
AND YOU'LL BE ABLE
TO PROVE THAT THINGS
THAT WEIGH THE SAME DO NOT
HAVE TO LOOK THE SAME.
AND REMEMBER,
IT'S NOT MAGIC;
IT'S MATH.

A big explosion brings the show’s logo back on the screen.

The end credits roll.
