(LIVELY ELECTRONIC MUSIC)

In animation, two aliens fly across space in a spaceship.

Blynk is a rectangular green alien with spiky hair and long fangs.

Aazoo is a round orange alien with 3 eyes.

With the help of M.A.V.I.S., the spaceship computer, and real Earth scientists, they listen to real Earth children's questions and try to find answers.

A song plays that says BLYNK AND AAZOO
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU

The name of the show reads "Blynk and Aazoo. Imagine, investigate, invent!"

(LIVELY ELECTRONIC MUSIC)

Blynk works on the computer.

(CLICKING OF KEYS)

Blynk says SHHH!
(BALLOONS SQUEAKING)

Blynk says HUH?
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN BABBLE)

Aazoo puts a balloon crown on Blynk's head.

Suddenly, the brown pops.

Blynk says UGH!
AAAZOOO.

He falls off his chair.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN BABBLE)
(KLAXON WARNING)

M.A.V.I.S. says INQUIRY BOOTH TRANSMITTING,
INCOMING INQUIRY.

A real life girl named Tema pops up on a screen and says COME IN BLYNK AND AAZOO,
I'M TEMA,
AND I HAVE
A QUESTION FOR YOU.

Tema is around 11, with straight brown hair in a bob cut with bangs. She wears a black T-shirt, a floral jacket and a chocker necklace.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN BABBLE)

Blynk and Aazoo waves at her.

Tema says LAST NIGHT I WAS LOOKING
AT THE MOON
AND IT GOT ME
THINKING;
IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE
ON THE MOON?
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN BABBLE)

Blynk presses the question button.

M.A.V.I.S. says CALLING INTERSTELLAR SCIENCE
COUNCIL CAPTAIN.

A real life scientist named Simon pops up on another screen and says OH,
HI BLYNK AND AAZOO.

Simon is in his thirties, with short straight brown hair and wears glasses and a burgundy shirt.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN BABBLE)

Simon says MACAULEYS GAVE ME THIS MOON
CAKE AND I WAS JUST WONDERING,
WHAT FLAVOR IT IS?

Tema says HI, I'M TEMA!
I HOPE IT'S RED BEAN.

Simon says HI TEMA!
I'M SIMON,
THAT'S MY FAVORITE FLAVOR TOO.
SO I'M GUESSING YOU
HAVE A QUESTION FOR ME TODAY?

Tema says YES, I WANTED TO ASK;
IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE
ON THE MOON?

Simon says OH, SO WE CAN HAVE
MOON CAKES ON THE MOON!

Tema nods.

Simon says BLYNK, CAN YOU PULL
UP THE MOON FILES PLEASE.
SUBCATEGORY: LUNAR FACTS.

M.A.V.I.S. says THE MOON IS MUCH
SMALLER THAN THE EARTH.
APPROXIMATELY 49 MOONS WOULD
FIT INSIDE EARTH.

Tema says WOW, IT LOOKS
SO MUCH BIGGER!

M.A.V.I.S. says THE MOON ORBITS THE EARTH
EVERY 27.3 DAYS,
THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE MOON
AND THE EARTH
IS 384,403 KM.

Simon says IT WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY
130 DAYS
TO DRIVE TO THE MOON.

Tema says ROADTRIP!

Blynk says OOOHH.

M.A.V.I.S. says THE MOON IS COVERED
IN A MIX OF BROKEN ROCKS
AND DUST,
CALLED REGOLITH
AND HAS MILLIONS OF HOLES,
CALLED CRATERS THAT WERE FORMED
WHEN GIANT ROCKS
SLAMMED INTO IT.
THERE ARE NO LAKES OR OCEANS,
BUT SOME CRATERS HAVE
ICE IN THEM.
ON THE MOON THERE IS NO OXYGEN
IN THE ATMOSPHERE
TO BREATHE.

Simon says THERE IS ALSO VERY LITTLE
GRAVITY ON THE MOON,
SO A HUMAN BEING WEIGHS THE SAME
AS A SMALL DOG ON EARTH.

Aazoo makes a balloon dog.

(HIGH-PITCHED DOG BARKING)
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)
(SQUEAKING OF A PLASTIC BALLOON)
(LAUGHING)

Tema says I WANNA FLOAT AROUND
LIKE A LITTLE SPACE DOG.

Simon says SO DO MANY ASTRONAUTS,
IN FACT WE'VE ALREADY SENT
SEVERAL HUMANS TO THE MOON.

M.A.V.I.S. says 12 HUMANS
TO BE PRECISE;
NO SPACE DOGS HAVE GONE
TO THE MOON.

Simon says CAPTAIN BLYNK,
LUNAR EXPLORATION FILES PLEASE.
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

Simon says THE FIRST MISSION
TO LAND PEOPLE ON THE MOON
WAS APOLLO 11.
THIS ROCKET WAS
LAUNCHED ON JULY 16TH 1969.

M.A.V.I.S. says AFFIRMATIVE,
NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS
THE FIRST PERSON TO SET
FOOT ON THE MOON.

Tema says WOW!

Blynk says OHH.

Tema says THAT'S AMAZING!

Simon says YEP, BUT WE'RE
STILL MANY STEPS AWAY
FROM ACTUALLY LIVING THERE.
TO DO THAT,
WE NEED SOME BASIC THINGS,
LIKE OXYGEN TO BREATHE, WATER,
SHELTER AND FOOD.

Tema says SO WE HAVE TO BRING OUR
OWN MOONCAKES, LOTS OF THEM.

Aazoo says AHHAAA!

M.A.V.I.S. says UNFORTUNATELY,
TRANSPORTING ANYTHING
TO THE MOON
IS VERY EXPENSIVE.

Simon says THAT'S WHY SCIENTISTS ARE
RESEARCHING WAYS
TO FIND THE THINGS THAT WE NEED
TO LIVE, ON THE MOON,
AND WHAT BETTER PLACE
TO START LOOKING
THAN UNDER YOUR FEET!

Aazoo looks under his feet and says HUH?
OOOOOH!

M.A.V.I.S. says AFFIRMATIVE, MOON REGOLITH
HAS OXYGEN IN IT.

Tema says THERE'S OXYGEN IN
THE MOON DUST?

Simon says YEP!
LOTS OF IT,
AND SCIENTISTS
HAVE FIGURED A WAY
TO GET OXYGEN OUT
OF THE REGOLITH
BY HEATING IT UP TO EXTREMELY
HIGH TEMPERATURES.

A diagram shows how the oxygen is extracted.

Simon says OKAY THAT LOOKS
VERY COMPLICATED,
BUT BELIEVE ME,
THAT WORKS.

Tema says WHAT ABOUT THE ICE
IN THE CRATERS?
CAN WE MELT IT TO
MAKE WATER?

Simon says YOU'RE THINKING JUST
LIKE A SCIENTIST, TEMA.

Tema says THANKS.

Simon says IN FACT, SCIENTISTS ARE
LOOKING AT WAYS
TO HEAT UP THIS ICE,
SO WE'D HAVE LIQUID WATER.
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

Aazoo makes a balloon floaty.

(CHUCKLES)

Simon says NICE FLOATY AAZOO.
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

Tema says OKAY, OXYGEN TO BREATHE,
CHECK.
WATER TO DRINK, CHECK.
WHAT ABOUT FOOD?

Simon says AH YES, OF COURSE
WE'LL NEED FOOD
TO LIVE ON THE MOON, BUT
GROWING IT LIKE WE DO ON EARTH,
ISN'T GOING TO WORK.

M.A.V.I.S. says THE EXTREME HEAT AND
COLD OF THE MOON,
THE LACK OF OXYGEN AND THE
HIGH LEVELS OF SOLAR RADIATION
MEAN NO LIVING ORGANISM COULD
POSSIBLY SURVIVE.

Aazoo screams.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

Simon says SO WE'LL HAVE TO
GROW PLANTS
IN UNDERGROUND GREENHOUSES
AND BECAUSE THE MOON
DOESN'T HAVE SOIL, WE'LL
NEED TO RELY ON HYDROPONICS.

Tema says HYDRO-WHAT?

M.A.V.I.S. says HYDROPONICS
IS THE PROCESS
OF GROWING PLANTS IN WATER AND
MINERALS, RATHER THAN SOIL.

Simon says OF COURSE WE DON'T WANT
TO LIVE UNDERGROUND
LIKE THESE PLANTS SO WE'LL NEED
SPECIAL HOUSES
THAT CAN BLOCK OUT THE
SUN'S RADIATION.

M.A.V.I.S. says LUNAR BUILDINGS
MUST ALSO BE STRONG ENOUGH TO
AVOID DAMAGE FROM
MICRO-METEOROIDS.
THEY REQUIRE A
COOLING-HEATING SYSTEM,
A WATER RECYCLING SYSTEM,
POWER GENERATING SYSTEM,
FOOD STORAGE AND
PREPARATION FACILITIES.

Aazoo and Blynk drop their jaws.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

Tema says WOW! THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS
TO THINK ABOUT IF YOU
WANT TO LIVE ON THE MOON,
SO IS IT POSSIBLE?

Simon says ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU
PUT YOUR MIND TO IT.
THAT'S WHAT SCIENTISTS BELIEVE
AND THAT'S WHY
SOME ORGANIZATIONS ARE ALREADY
PRACTICING WHAT IT'S LIKE
TO LIVE ON THE MOON.
SPACE AGENCIES CALL THESE
ANALOG MISSIONS.
THEY SEND PEOPLE TO PLACES
ON THE EARTH,
THAT ARE LIKE
THE MOON.

M.A.V.I.S. says AFFIRMATIVE!
EXAMPLES
INCLUDE THE ANTARCTIC;
TO EXPERIENCE THE COLD,
THE MISTASTIN CRATER,
TO EXPLORE MOON-LIKE LAND
AND THE ATLANTIC OCEAN,
WHERE AN UNDERWATER RESEARCH
STATION MIMICS REDUCED GRAVITY.

Simon says IN OTHER WORDS, RESEARCHERS
ARE PRACTICING WHAT IT'S LIKE
TO LIVE ON THE MOON!

Tema says SO WE'RE ONLY ONE SMALL
STEP FROM ACTUALLY LIVING THERE?

Simon says THAT'S RIGHT TEMA, AND
THE EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY
DEFINITELY THINKS SO TO!
THEY'RE ALREADY
PLANNING A MOON VILLAGE,
AND ONE COMPANY IS WORKING
TO SEND TOURISTS TO THE MOON!

Tema says MOON TOURS?
THAT'S SO INCREDIBLE,
I WANNA BE THE TOUR GUIDE.
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

M.A.V.I.S. says INSPIRATION DETECTED.
INVENTION STATION IS
READY CAPTAIN.

Blynk makes a bubble-like vehicle in the invention station.

(UPBEAT SYNTHETIC MUSIC)
(MACHINES WORKING)
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

M.A.V.I.S. says IT APPEARS TO BE
A LUNAR SIGHTSEEING VEHICLE,
FILLED WITH HEALTHY
REFRESHMENTS.
(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGUE)

As he rolls with the vehicle, it gets stuck in one of Aazoo's balloons. The bubble vehicle moves back and forth and all the refreshments spill.

(BALLOON POPS)

Blynk swims in refreshment as he rolls after Aazoo.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGUE)

Simon says LOOKS LIKE YOUR INVENTION NEEDS
A LITTLE BIT MORE WORK,
BLYNK.

Blynk says AAZOO! AAZOO!

M.A.V.I.S. says INVENTION REPORT:
LUNAR TOUR VEHICLE,
FAILURE.
LUNAR SMOOTHIE MAKER:
SUCCESSFUL.

Tema says MAYBE SOMEDAY I'LL BE ONE
OF THE SCIENTISTS
TO LIVE ON THE MOON.

Simon says THAT WOULD BE OUT OF
THIS WORLD!

Simon and Tema say BYE.

M.A.V.I.S. says THE SEARCH FOR INVENTIONS
CONTINUES.
ALL SYSTEMS ENGAGED.

(SPEAKING IN ALIEN LANGUAGE)

The song says BLYNK AND AAZOO
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU.
