8 year old Ella, who has curly black hair, runs down a staircase with a toy rocket ship. She wears a teal space suit, and a helmet with animal ears.
[Giggling]
Ella runs into a living room and gives her little sister the rocket ship.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, COME WITH ME, TO THE STARS.
Ella’s mom picks up Ella’s little sister and smiles as Ella runs outside. Outside the house, in outer space, Ella runs past her dad.
The singer sings, THE GALAXY IS OURS!
Ella waves to her dad.
She says, BYE DAD!
Ella jumps onto her moon scooter, a circular spacecraft, and takes off.
People say, LET'S GO!
The singer sings, LOOK AT ALL THE WONDER.
INTER-STELLAR.
Ella flies over a planet with Madhu, a blue and green alien, and Slippy, a boy with black hair who flies a red spacecraft.
The signer sings, LOOK UP SO MUCH SPLENDOUR.

Ella flies on Madhu.
The singer sings, LOOK OUT FOR ADVENTURE.
Ella and Slippy explore a planet together with Maggie, a blue star. Elsewhere in space, Slippy and Madhu look startled.

She races home and runs inside. She looks confused. Her litter sister is on the couch.

Ella’s little sister runs up to Ella.
Ella’s little sister says, GUESS!

Dad carries a wrapped gift that looks like a telescope into the living room.
Ella guesses, UMM, A TELESCOPE?
Her little sister says, HOW DID YOU KNOW?
[Ella giggling quietly]
Ella’s little sister says, IT'S A RING DUST
TELESCOPE FOR STUDYING RING DUST!
Dad picks up Ella’s little sister.
Ella’s little sister says, I MADE THE CARD. SEE?
Ella’s little sister shows Ella a card.
Ella says, WAIT.
YOU MADE THE CARD AND DAD
GOT THE GIFT?
I WANT TO GET HER SOMETHING
SPECIAL, TOO.
Dad says, BUT THE GIFT IS FROM
BOTH OF YOU.
He puts down Ella’s little sister.
Ella says, I KNOW, BUT CAN I GIVE HER
MY OWN GIFT THIS YEAR?
Dad says, I'M SURE SHE'D LOVE THAT.
WE'LL WAIT FOR YOU
SO WE CAN GIVE OUR GIFTS AT
THE SAME TIME.
Ella’s little sister looks at the home made card.
She whines, BUT I WANT TO GIVE IT
TO HER NOW.
Ella says, GIVE ME 30 MINUTES.
I'LL BE SUPER FAST.
I PROMISE.
A person asks, WHAT'S EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT?
The person, Ella’s mom, walks into the room.
Dad says, UHH, WHAT?
HUH?
He hides the telescope gift behind his back.
Dad says, US?
[Dad laughing nervously]
Dad looks at the two girls.
He says, HEAR THAT SQUEAKY SOUND, TILLY?
[Dad laughing nervously]
Tilly, Ella’s little sister, looks confused. She shakes her head.
Dad says, SURE YOU DO.
He guides Tilly out of the room with the telescope gift.
Dad says, LET'S GO CHECK IT OUT.
[Dad laughing nervously]
Mom says, WOW. THEY'RE ACTING STRANGE.
YOU KNOW,
SINCE IT IS A SPECIAL DAY,
IT WOULD BE NICE
TO SPEND SOME TIME TOGETHER.
Ella nervously backs away from her mom.
Ella says, WE WILL. ABSOLUTELY.
BUT THERE'S SOMETHING IMPORTANT
I HAVE TO DO.
Mom says, IMPORTANT?
WELL, DON'T BE TOO LONG.
Ella runs outside.
Mom says, WOW, I SURE CAN CLEAR A ROOM.
[Mom laughing to herself]
[Funky music playing]
Ella flies her moon scooter through space with Maggie beside her.
Maggie says, THIS GIFT GIVING
IS QUITE LOVELY.
Ella looks distracted.
Maggie asks, DO YOU KNOW WHAT
YOU WANT TO GET?
Ella says, SOMETHING SPECTACULAR.
JUST LIKE THE GIFTS
SHE GIVES ME.
Maggie says, LIKE THE SOCKS
WITH TINY ASTEROIDS.
OR MAYBE A....COLLISION!
Ella frowns.
She asks, HOW DO YOU GIVE SOMEONE
A COLLISION?
Maggie says, NO! WATCH OUT!
Ella’s eyes widen.
Maggie warns, COLLISION AHEAD!
Ella is racing toward Madhu and Slippy.
[Dramatic music plays]
Ella says, WHOA!
Madhu and Slippy yell, WHOA!
Ella yells, AHH!
She swerves away from her friends and spirals toward a planet.
Ella yells, WOAH!
WOAH, WOAH!
Her moon scooter bounces onto the planet, flips, and skids across the surface.
Madhu asks, ARE YOU OKAY, ELLA?
Madhu and Slippy catch up with Ella.
Madhu says, YOU REALLY WENT UP AND OVER
AND UP AND OVER.
Ella looks wobbly on her feet. Maggie is spinning.
She says, I'M STILL GOING UP AND OVER.
[Ella sighing]
Ella says, SORRY.
I WAS SO BUSY THINKING
OF A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR MY MOM.
I WASN'T WATCHING
WHERE IT WAS GOING.
Slippy says, IN MY FAMILY,
WE ADD TO THE FAMILY
BIRTHDAY SONG EVERY YEAR.
He looks thoughtful.
He says, HMM.
MY UNCLE'S BIRTHDAY IS NEXT
WEEK.
Slippy stomp as he sings, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY,
YOU’RE REALLY NICE.
IF YOU’RE HOT,
JUST EAT SOME ICE!
Ella says, UM, THANKS, SLIPPY.
MY FAMILY GIVES GIFTS,
BUT YOUR SONG JUST GAVE
ME A GREAT IDEA FOR A GIFT!
She jumps onto her moon scooter and flies away as Slippy stoms toward his spacecraft.
Slippy sings, GONNA TO TRAVEL
THROUGH THE GALAXY.
PASSED JUPITER AND
MARS AND…
He follows Ella.
He says, …GUYS?
WHAT RHYMES WITH GALAXY?
GUYS?
Slippy follows Ella and Madhu. The friends glide over a planet with a pink surface. They land, and Ella hops off her moon scooter. She looks around with a furrowed brow. Madhu glances at Slippy, who shrugs. They follow Ella.
Ella says, HMM.
She carries her space grappler with her.
[Rumbling]
The ground shakes beneath the friends. Slippy and Madhu look worried, but Ella grins. Steam bursts out of the ground.
Ella says, THERE IT IS.
[Steam spraying]
Pink crystals fly up the erupting hot spring.
Madhu says, A GEYSER IS A GREAT GIFT.
SO SPRINKLY.
[Ella laughing]
Ella grabs her space grappler.
She says, NO, I'M
GOING TO GIVE HER SPARKLY
ICE CRYSTALS TO PUT ON HER DESK.
Ella reels in one of the pink ice crystals with her grappler. Behind her, another geyser explodes. Ella grabs another crystal with her grappler. Madhu picks up Ella’s collection of crystals.
Madhu asks, HOW DO I LOOK?
Ella says, PRETTY!
Madhu wears the crystals like a crown. They start to melt.
Ella says, BUT MELTY.
She picks up an ice crystal.
She says, AWW, THEY’LL JUST MELT
WHEN I GET THEM HOME.
A communication bubble appears in front of Ella. Ella hides the ice crystal.
Mom says, JUST CHECKING TO SEE
IF YOU'RE READY TO HANG OUT.
WE CAN WATCH RABBIT ROBOT
RUN AROUND.
I'LL MAKE. POPCORN.
Ella says, MM, YUM. BUT I'M NOT READY YET.
I'LL BE THERE AS SOON AS I CAN.
Mom says, ALL RIGHT, MISS YOU.
KISSES.
The bubble pops and the call ends. Ella looks disappointed.
Maggie says, YOU CAN STILL GIVE HER
THE TELESCOPE?
IT'S EVEN WRAPPED.
Slippy says, OR A BIRTHDAY SONG?
Ella says, YEAH…
SINGING IS GREAT, SLIPPY, BUT
I'M NOT GIVING UP ON THE GIFT.
THERE'S SO MANY AMAZING THINGS
IN THIS GALAXY.
Slippy says, HEY, I KNOW WHERE YOU CAN FIND
AMAZING THINGS.
FOLLOW ME.
Elsewhere in the galaxy, space junk floats amongst asteroids.
Ella says, UM, I'M NOT SURE
SPACE JUNK SAYS
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM .
Slippy says, YOU SEE JUNK?
I SEE A SCULPTURE.
He connects a metal post to a small solar panel.
Ella says, SLIPPY!
THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!
I'LL MAKE HER A SCULPTURE!
She grabs a rocket cone with her space grappler. Back on the clubhouse asteroid, a piece of metal looks like a heart.
Madhu says, OH,
SO PRETTY.
A ring hands from strings on the heart of Ella’s sculpture.
Madhu says, HELLO, FLOWER.
SLIPPY, LOOK WHAT ELLA MADE.
Slippy’s tall sculpture starts to wobble. It slowly tips over toward Ella’s sculpture.
Ella says, WATCH OUT FOR MY...
Slippy’s sculpture destroys Ella’s.
Ella sadly says, …SCULPTURE.
Slippy says, SORRY. I'LL FIX IT.
Ella says, IT'S OKAY, SLIPPY.
I LIKE THE SCULPTURE,
BUT I KIND OF WANTED TO GIVE HER
SOMETHING SPARKLY.
AND I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
Maggie says, THERE ARE MANY THINGS
THAT SPARKLE IN THE GALAXY.
She shows pictures of the things she lists.
She lists, VOYAGER PROBES, STARS,
RING DUST, METEORS.
Ella says, OF COURSE!
RING DUST!
THAT'S WHAT MOM'S STUDYING.
IT'S PERFECT.
A planet’s ring dust is teal. Ella grabs a grappler full of ring dust.
She says, MY DAD GOT HER A RING DUST TELESCOPE.
She looks at the ring dust.
Ella says, SO I’LL GET HER A JAR
FULL OF RING OF RING DUST.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT?
She launches her grappler back into the planet’s ring.
Maggie says, NOTHING.
RING DUST IS FASCINATING.
IT'S THE RUBBLE
FROM ASTEROID COLLISIONS
OR EVEN CRUMBS
FROM BLAZING COMETS.
Slippy holds a net.
He says, I'LL GRAB IT FOR YOU.
Slippy flies to the planet’s ring using his boot thrusters.
He says, YOU’LL HAVE ENOUGH TO FILL LOTS
OF JARS WHEN I'M FINISHED.
Slippy swipes his net through the ring dust. Ella and Madhu watch closely. Slippy returns. He holds the net closed.
Ella says, THANKS, SLIPPY.
YOU'RE THE BEST.
She looks inside the net.
She says, MY MUM IS GOING TO LOVE THIS!
Ring dust gets in Madhu’s face.
Madhu sneezes, ACHOO!
Ring dust clouds around Ella, then fades away. Ella frowns and looks in the net.
She says, BLESS YOU.
Madhu says, I'M SO, SO SORRY.
Ella shakes the net but nothing comes out.
Madhu says, YOU LOOK VERY SAD.
Ella says, IT'S OK MADHU,
IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT.
I'M JUST SAD BECAUSE I WANT TO
GIVE MY MOM A GIFT FROM ME.
She returns Slippy’s net.
She adds, AND I STILL HAVE NOTHING.
Slippy says, LET'S GET SOME MORE RING DUST!
He looks determined. A communication bubble appears between him and Ella.
Dad says, HI ELLA.
I DON'T THINK I CAN MAKE TILLY
WAIT MUCH LONGER.
Tilly begs, HURRY ELLA!
Dad asks, ARE YOU ALMOST DONE?
Mom asks, WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?
The bubble pops and the call ends. Ella looks sad.
She says, I NEED TO FIND SOMETHING
THAT SHOWS MY MOM
HOW BIG MY LOVE FOR HER IS.
Madhu says, ELLA I KNOW SOMETHING
BIGGER THAN BIG.
IN FACT.
IT'S GIGANTICALLY GIGANTIC.
Ella looks excited. Elsewhere in the galaxy, a planet has marbled pink and blue colouring.
Madhu says, TA-DA!
MY FAVORITE GAS PLANET.
HELLO GASSY.
Madhu flies closer to the planet.
Madhu says, IT'S GIANT!
Madhu dives through a layer of gas that bursts like a cloud. Slippy and Ella follow.
Madhu says, WHEN I FEEL WONKY, WOOZY,
I COME HERE.
I REALLY
LOVE THE SPARKLE SPRINKLES.
Slippy and Ella look at the pink clouds and crystals around them. They look amazed.
Madhu says, BUT I HAVE SOMETHING
EVEN BETTER THAN ALL OF THIS.
FOLLOW ME.
Ella says, SPARKLE, SPRINKLES?
A crystal floats in front of her and she grabs it.
Ella says, WOW.
ARE THOSE. DIAMONDS?
Maggie says, THESE COME FROM CLOUDS
AND FORM IN THE DEEP ATMOSPHERE
WHERE CARBON ATOMS ARE SQUEEZED
INTO DIAMONDS.
Ella says, THANK YOU MADHU.
THIS IS EVEN SPARKLIER
THAN RING DUST.
She hugs Madhu.
She adds, IT'S THE PERFECT GIFT FOR MOM.
Madhu says, YAY! AND I KNOW
SOMETHING EVEN MORE...
Ella interrupts and says, I CAN MAKE HER A BRACELET
OR KEYCHAIN WITH THESE.
Ella collects some of the diamonds. She flies back toward her moon scooter with Slippy and an armful of diamonds.
Ella says, THANKS, GUYS.
WAIT TILL MY MOM SEES MY GIFT.
She stores the diamonds in a compartment under her feet. A communication bubble appears beside her with her mom.
Mom says, SO HOW'S IT GOING?
YOU THINK WE CAN STILL HANG OUT
TODAY?
Madhu calls, BYE ELLA!
Slippy says, BYE ELLA!
He and Madhu start to leave.
Ella says, I'M ON MY WAY, AND
I HAVE A BIG SURPRISE FOR YOU.
Mom says, OOH, I LOVE SURPRISES!
Her communication bubble pops and the call ends. Ella flies toward Slippy. Slippy’s eyes widen, then Ella’s. Ella swerves and dodges Slippy, and the diamonds fall out of her moon scooter as she slips off her stand. Her moon scooter flips away from her and the diamonds float out of her reach. Madhu and Slippy fly up beside Ella, who looks sad.
Slippy says, IT'S OKAY.
WE CAN GET MORE.
I'LL JUST USE MY NET.
Ella says, FORGET IT. I'M OUT OF TIME.
I HAVE TO GET BACK NOW.
She flies toward her moon scooter with her boot thrusters.
[Ella gasping]
Ella asks, WHAT...IS...THAT?
Around the gas planet, Ella looks at a giant colourful cloud.
Maggie says, THAT IS A NEBULA.
GLOWING CLOUDS OF GAS AND DUST.
THIS ONE IS CALLED
THE PILLARS OF CREATION.
IT'S WHERE STARS ARE BORN.
Ella looks amazed.
Madhu says, THAT'S THE OTHER PLACE
I WANTED TO SHOW YOU.
WHEN I'M FEELING
SUPER WONKY, WOOZY.
I LIKE TO HANG OUT HERE.
Madhu smiles.
Madhu says, HELLO, BABY STARS.
Ella says, THAT'S INTERSTELLAR SPECTACULAR.
Slippy says, TOO BAD YOU CAN'T JUST WRAP
THAT UP AND GIVE IT TO YOUR MOM.
Maggie says, YOU'D NEED A LOT OF
WRAPPING PAPER.
IT'S 47 TRILLION KILOMETERS.
BESIDES, ELLA HAS TO GO
HANG OUT WITH HER MOM NOW.
Ella says, I KNOW WHAT TO GIVE MY MOM.
Slippy asks, WRAPPING PAPER?
Ella says, NOPE.
A NEW BIRTHDAY TRADITION.

She flies away on her moon scooter. Ella leads her mom, who is blindfolded, away from a spacecraft.
Mom says, NOW YOU'VE
GOT ME REALLY CURIOUS.
CAN I TAKE IT OFF NOW?
Dad carries Tilly.
Ella says, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
She pulls off her Mom’s blindfold.
[Mom gasping]
Mom says, THE PILLARS OF CREATION!
Ella says, I WANTED TO GIVE YOU SOMETHING
JUST AS SPECTACULAR AS YOU ARE.
I KNOW I CAN'T GIVE YOU THIS,
BUT I THOUGHT THAT

Mom says, THAT'S SO.

She hugs Ella.

WITH TINY ASTEROIDS.
OR MAYBE A....COLLISION!
Ella frowns.
She asks, HOW DO YOU GIVE SOMEONE
A COLLISION?
Maggie says, NO! WATCH OUT!
Ella’s eyes widen.
Maggie warns, COLLISION AHEAD!
Ella is racing toward Madhu and Slippy.
[Dramatic music plays]
Ella says, WHOA!
Madhu and Slippy yell, WHOA!
Ella yells, AHH!
She swerves away from her friends and spirals toward a planet.
Ella yells, WOAH!
WOAH, WOAH!
Her moon scooter bounces onto the planet, flips, and skids across the surface.
Madhu asks, ARE YOU OKAY, ELLA?
Madhu and Slippy catch up with Ella.
Madhu says, YOU REALLY WENT UP AND OVER
AND UP AND OVER.
Ella looks wobbly on her feet. Maggie is spinning.
She says, I'M STILL GOING UP AND OVER.
[Ella sighing]
Ella says, SORRY.
I WAS SO BUSY THINKING
OF A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR MY MOM.
I WASN'T WATCHING
WHERE IT WAS GOING.
Slippy says, IN MY FAMILY,
WE ADD TO THE FAMILY
BIRTHDAY SONG EVERY YEAR.
He looks thoughtful.
He says, HMM.
MY UNCLE'S BIRTHDAY IS NEXT
WEEK.
Slippy stomp as he sings, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY,
YOU’RE REALLY NICE.
IF YOU’RE HOT,
JUST EAT SOME ICE!
Ella says, UM, THANKS, SLIPPY.
MY FAMILY GIVES GIFTS,
BUT YOUR SONG JUST GAVE
ME A GREAT IDEA FOR A GIFT!
She jumps onto her moon scooter and flies away as Slippy stoms toward his spacecraft.
Slippy sings, GONNA TO TRAVEL
THROUGH THE GALAXY.
PASSED JUPITER AND
MARS AND…
He follows Ella.
He says, …GUYS?
WHAT RHYMES WITH GALAXY?
GUYS?
Slippy follows Ella and Madhu. The friends glide over a planet with a pink surface. They land, and Ella hops off her moon scooter. She looks around with a furrowed brow. Madhu glances at Slippy, who shrugs. They follow Ella.
Ella says, HMM.
She carries her space grappler with her.
[Rumbling]
The ground shakes beneath the friends. Slippy and Madhu look worried, but Ella grins. Steam bursts out of the ground.
Ella says, THERE IT IS.
[Steam spraying]
Pink crystals fly up the erupting hot spring.
Madhu says, A GEYSER IS A GREAT GIFT.
SO SPRINKLY.
[Ella laughing]
Ella grabs her space grappler.
She says, NO, I'M
GOING TO GIVE HER SPARKLY
ICE CRYSTALS TO PUT ON HER DESK.
Ella reels in one of the pink ice crystals with her grappler. Behind her, another geyser explodes. Ella grabs another crystal with her grappler. Madhu picks up Ella’s collection of crystals.
Madhu asks, HOW DO I LOOK?
Ella says, PRETTY!
Madhu wears the crystals like a crown. They start to melt.
Ella says, BUT MELTY.
She picks up an ice crystal.
She says, AWW, THEY’LL JUST MELT
WHEN I GET THEM HOME.
A communication bubble appears in front of Ella. Ella hides the ice crystal.
Mom says, JUST CHECKING TO SEE
IF YOU'RE READY TO HANG OUT.
WE CAN WATCH RABBIT ROBOT
RUN AROUND.
I'LL MAKE. POPCORN.
Ella says, MM, YUM. BUT I'M NOT READY YET.
I'LL BE THERE AS SOON AS I CAN.
Mom says, ALL RIGHT, MISS YOU.
KISSES.
The bubble pops and the call ends. Ella looks disappointed.
Maggie says, YOU CAN STILL GIVE HER
THE TELESCOPE?
IT'S EVEN WRAPPED.
Slippy says, OR A BIRTHDAY SONG?
Ella says, YEAH…
SINGING IS GREAT, SLIPPY, BUT
I'M NOT GIVING UP ON THE GIFT.
THERE'S SO MANY AMAZING THINGS
IN THIS GALAXY.
Slippy says, HEY, I KNOW WHERE YOU CAN FIND
AMAZING THINGS.
FOLLOW ME.
Elsewhere in the galaxy, space junk floats amongst asteroids.
Ella says, UM, I'M NOT SURE
SPACE JUNK SAYS
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM .
Slippy says, YOU SEE JUNK?
I SEE A SCULPTURE.
He connects a metal post to a small solar panel.
Ella says, SLIPPY!
THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!
I'LL MAKE HER A SCULPTURE!
She grabs a rocket cone with her space grappler. Back on the clubhouse asteroid, a piece of metal looks like a heart.
Madhu says, OH,
SO PRETTY.
A ring hands from strings on the heart of Ella’s sculpture.
Madhu says, HELLO, FLOWER.
SLIPPY, LOOK WHAT ELLA MADE.
Slippy’s tall sculpture starts to wobble. It slowly tips over toward Ella’s sculpture.
Ella says, WATCH OUT FOR MY...
Slippy’s sculpture destroys Ella’s.
Ella sadly says, …SCULPTURE.
Slippy says, SORRY. I'LL FIX IT.
Ella says, IT'S OKAY, SLIPPY.
I LIKE THE SCULPTURE,
BUT I KIND OF WANTED TO GIVE HER
SOMETHING SPARKLY.
AND I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
Maggie says, THERE ARE MANY THINGS
THAT SPARKLE IN THE GALAXY.
She shows pictures of the things she lists.
She lists, VOYAGER PROBES, STARS,
RING DUST, METEORS.
Ella says, OF COURSE!
RING DUST!
THAT'S WHAT MOM'S STUDYING.
IT'S PERFECT.
A planet’s ring dust is teal. Ella grabs a grappler full of ring dust.
She says, MY DAD GOT HER A RING DUST TELESCOPE.
She looks at the ring dust.
Ella says, SO I’LL GET HER A JAR
FULL OF RING OF RING DUST.
WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN THAT?
She launches her grappler back into the planet’s ring.
Maggie says, NOTHING.
RING DUST IS FASCINATING.
IT'S THE RUBBLE
FROM ASTEROID COLLISIONS
OR EVEN CRUMBS
FROM BLAZING COMETS.
Slippy holds a net.
He says, I'LL GRAB IT FOR YOU.
Slippy flies to the planet’s ring using his boot thrusters.
He says, YOU’LL HAVE ENOUGH TO FILL LOTS
OF JARS WHEN I'M FINISHED.
Slippy swipes his net through the ring dust. Ella and Madhu watch closely. Slippy returns. He holds the net closed.
Ella says, THANKS, SLIPPY.
YOU'RE THE BEST.
She looks inside the net.
She says, MY MUM IS GOING TO LOVE THIS!
Ring dust gets in Madhu’s face.
Madhu sneezes, ACHOO!
Ring dust clouds around Ella, then fades away. Ella frowns and looks in the net.
She says, BLESS YOU.
Madhu says, I'M SO, SO SORRY.
Ella shakes the net but nothing comes out.
Madhu says, YOU LOOK VERY SAD.
Ella says, IT'S OK MADHU,
IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT.
I'M JUST SAD BECAUSE I WANT TO
GIVE MY MOM A GIFT FROM ME.
She returns Slippy’s net.
She adds, AND I STILL HAVE NOTHING.
Slippy says, LET'S GET SOME MORE RING DUST!
He looks determined. A communication bubble appears between him and Ella.
Dad says, HI ELLA.
I DON'T THINK I CAN MAKE TILLY
WAIT MUCH LONGER.
Tilly begs, HURRY ELLA!
Dad asks, ARE YOU ALMOST DONE?
Mom asks, WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?
The bubble pops and the call ends. Ella looks sad.
She says, I NEED TO FIND SOMETHING
THAT SHOWS MY MOM
HOW BIG MY LOVE FOR HER IS.
Madhu says, ELLA I KNOW SOMETHING
BIGGER THAN BIG.
IN FACT.
IT'S GIGANTICALLY GIGANTIC.
Ella looks excited. Elsewhere in the galaxy, a planet has marbled pink and blue colouring.
Madhu says, TA-DA!
MY FAVORITE GAS PLANET.
HELLO GASSY.
Madhu flies closer to the planet.
Madhu says, IT'S GIANT!
Madhu dives through a layer of gas that bursts like a cloud. Slippy and Ella follow.
Madhu says, WHEN I FEEL WONKY, WOOZY,
I COME HERE.
I REALLY
LOVE THE SPARKLE SPRINKLES.
Slippy and Ella look at the pink clouds and crystals around them. They look amazed.
Madhu says, BUT I HAVE SOMETHING
EVEN BETTER THAN ALL OF THIS.
FOLLOW ME.
Ella says, SPARKLE, SPRINKLES?
A crystal floats in front of her and she grabs it.
Ella says, WOW.
ARE THOSE. DIAMONDS?
Maggie says, THESE COME FROM CLOUDS
AND FORM IN THE DEEP ATMOSPHERE
WHERE CARBON ATOMS ARE SQUEEZED
INTO DIAMONDS.
Ella says, THANK YOU MADHU.
THIS IS EVEN SPARKLIER
THAN RING DUST.
She hugs Madhu.
She adds, IT'S THE PERFECT GIFT FOR MOM.
Madhu says, YAY! AND I KNOW
SOMETHING EVEN MORE...
Ella interrupts and says, I CAN MAKE HER A BRACELET
OR KEYCHAIN WITH THESE.
Ella collects some of the diamonds. She flies back toward her moon scooter with Slippy and an armful of diamonds.
Ella says, THANKS, GUYS.
WAIT TILL MY MOM SEES MY GIFT.
She stores the diamonds in a compartment under her feet. A communication bubble appears beside her with her mom.
Mom says, SO HOW'S IT GOING?
YOU THINK WE CAN STILL HANG OUT
TODAY?
Madhu calls, BYE ELLA!
Slippy says, BYE ELLA!
He and Madhu start to leave.
Ella says, I'M ON MY WAY, AND
I HAVE A BIG SURPRISE FOR YOU.
Mom says, OOH, I LOVE SURPRISES!
Her communication bubble pops and the call ends. Ella flies toward Slippy. Slippy’s eyes widen, then Ella’s. Ella swerves and dodges Slippy, and the diamonds fall out of her moon scooter as she slips off her stand. Her moon scooter flips away from her and the diamonds float out of her reach. Madhu and Slippy fly up beside Ella, who looks sad.
Slippy says, IT'S OKAY.
WE CAN GET MORE.
I'LL JUST USE MY NET.
Ella says, FORGET IT. I'M OUT OF TIME.
I HAVE TO GET BACK NOW.
She flies toward her moon scooter with her boot thrusters.
[Ella gasping]
Ella asks, WHAT...IS...THAT?
Around the gas planet, Ella looks at a giant colourful cloud.
Maggie says, THAT IS A NEBULA.
GLOWING CLOUDS OF GAS AND DUST.
THIS ONE IS CALLED
THE PILLARS OF CREATION.
IT'S WHERE STARS ARE BORN.
Ella looks amazed.
Madhu says, THAT'S THE OTHER PLACE
I WANTED TO SHOW YOU.
WHEN I'M FEELING
SUPER WONKY, WOOZY.
I LIKE TO HANG OUT HERE.
Madhu smiles.
Madhu says, HELLO, BABY STARS.
Ella says, THAT'S INTERSTELLAR SPECTACULAR.
Slippy says, TOO BAD YOU CAN'T JUST WRAP
THAT UP AND GIVE IT TO YOUR MOM.
Maggie says, YOU'D NEED A LOT OF
WRAPPING PAPER.
IT'S 47 TRILLION KILOMETERS.
BESIDES, ELLA HAS TO GO
HANG OUT WITH HER MOM NOW.
Ella says, I KNOW WHAT TO GIVE MY MOM.
Slippy asks, WRAPPING PAPER?
Ella says, NOPE.
A NEW BIRTHDAY TRADITION.
I'LL BE RIGHT BACK.
She flies away on her moon scooter. Ella leads her mom, who is blindfolded, away from a spacecraft.
Mom says, NOW YOU'VE
GOT ME REALLY CURIOUS.
CAN I TAKE IT OFF NOW?
Dad carries Tilly.
Ella says, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
She pulls off her Mom’s blindfold.
[Mom gasping]
Mom says, THE PILLARS OF CREATION!
Ella says, I WANTED TO GIVE YOU SOMETHING
JUST AS SPECTACULAR AS YOU ARE.
I KNOW I CAN'T GIVE YOU THIS,
BUT I THOUGHT THAT
MAYBE THIS COULD BE
THE NEW RYDER FAMILY TRADITION
TO COME HERE EVERY BIRTHDAY.
Mom says, THAT'S SO.
BEAUTIFUL!
IT'S JUST WHAT
I WANTED TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU.
She hugs Ella.
Tilly says, DON'T FORGET MY GIFT!
Dad and Tilly join Mom and Ella with the wrapped gift.
Tilly says, IT'S A TELESCOPE.
[Ryder family laughing]
On the family’s spacecraft, Mom looks at The Pillars of Creation through her new telescope.
Slippy sings, TO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY,
I TRAVELED ALL DAY LONG.
TO FIND JUST THE RIGHT WORDS,
FOR THIS BIRTHDAY SONG.
THE GALAXY IS FULL OF JOY,
AND THINGS THAT TWINKLE.
He dances alongside Madhu.
Slippy sings, BUT BETTER THAN RING DUST,
ARE SPARKLY SPRINKLES!

Mom says, AWW, SWEET.
She cuddles Ella.
[Soft music plays]
The family and friends admire The Pillars of Creation together.
