Oleander says, THE BIG RACE
Oleander rides a red scooter with a star on the front. She wears a green helmet with her black hair in two puffs sticking out from it. She wears a red dress with a star on it. Her salamander, Sally, rides a smaller blue scooter.
Ben and Teddy are outside with Massimo.
(Massimo babbling)
Teddy says, YES, MASSIMO. ONE DAY YOU'LL HAVE YOUR OWN SCOOTER.
Oleander says, AND I'LL TEACH YOU TO RIDE!
Oleander and Sally ride on.
Oleander asks, HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR NEW SCOOTER?
Sally says, IT'S AWESOME. LOOK AT ME! I'M THE FASTEST SALAMANDER IN THE WORLD! WOO-HOO!
Sally goes faster along a sidewalk.
Sally says, WHEE!
Two chipmunks in helmets ride a skateboard in front of Sally. She stops.
(Shrieks)
(Chipmunks laughing)
Oleander asks, WHAT'S SO FUNNY?
(Laughter)
Sally says, THEY'RE SAYING MY SCOOTER IS REALLY SLOW, AND THEY COULD EASILY BEAT ME IN A RACE AROUND THE PARK.
Oleander says, IGNORE THEM.
Sally says, DON'T WORRY. I’M NOT GONNA LET SOME PESKY CHIPMUNKS UPSET ME.
(Chipmunk blows raspberry)
(Laughter)
Sally says, OKAY, THAT'S IT. THEY SAID MY SCOOTER IS A SILLY COLOR. I'LL SHOW THEM!
Oleander asks, HOW?
Sally says, HMM... (Gasp)
Sally stands next to the chipmunks.
Sally says, FIRST ONE ROUND THE PARK WINS.
(Laughter)
Oleander watches through binoculars from the top of a slide. She holds a walkie talkie.
Oleander says, CAN YOU READ ME? OVER. THE RULES ARE SIMPLE. JUST STAY ON THE PATH. THE FIRST ONE BACK TO THE START WINS. READY, SET...
The chipmunks take off.
Oleander says, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
Sally says, I'VE GOT TO MAKE SURE MY HELMET'S ON PROPERLY.
(Grunts)
Oleander says, NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BE SO... SO... CONSCIENTIOUS.
The Sprinklers appear and says, CONSCIENTIOUS!
Yellow text reads: CONSCIENTIOUS
The Sprinkle Fairy says, CONSCIENTIOUS MEANS TO DO SOMETHING PROPERLY AND CAREFULLY, LIKE YOU'RE MEANT TO. YOU KNOW, THE WAY SALLY MADE SURE HER HELMET WAS ON PROPERLY BEFORE SHE STARTED.
Oleander says, SALLY WILL NEVER WIN BY BEING SO CONSCIENTIOUS.
The Sprinkle Fairy says, SHE DEFINITELY WON'T WIN UNLESS SHE STARTS RACING. OOH, WHICH REMINDS ME - I'VE GOT TO RACE TO THE FAIRY SHOP. TOODLES!
The Sprinkle Fairy flies away,
Sally says, READY.
Oleander cries, GO! GO! GO!
The chipmunks relax on their skateboard and roll along. Sally scoots past them
(Sally chuckles)
Sally says, WHO'S THE SLOW POKE NOW?
(Distressed chittering)
Oleander says, THAT'S IT, SALLY. SHOW THOSE CHEEKY CHIPMUNKS!
(Surprised chittering)
A chipmunk points to another path. They turn the skateboard.
Oleander says, THOSE SNEAKY CHIPMUNKS HAVE TAKEN A SHORTCUT! THEY'RE NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES. THEY'RE AHEAD AGAIN! YOU'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING.
Oleander looks through the binoculars.
Oleander says, SALLY, YOU COULD CUT THROUGH PAST THE NEXT TREE.
Sally says, NO, I'VE GOT TO STAY ON THE PROPER RACE PATH. I'M NOT GOING TO CHEAT!
Oleander says, YOU'LL NEVER BEAT THEM BY BEING SO CONSCIENTIOUS.
Sally says, I'M SCOOTING AS FAST AS I CAN!
A dog catches a Frisbee and lands on the path. The chipmunks skateboard through the dog’s legs.
The chipmunks look back and laugh. The skateboard hits a rock, and the chipmunks fly up and land in a fountain.
Sally says, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T DO THINGS PROPERLY!
Oleander says, TAKE THAT, CHIPMUNKS!
Sally rides her scooter.
Oleander says, GREAT SCOOTING, SAL.
(Gasp)
Oleander says, YOU'RE ALMOST AT THE FINISH! YOU'VE GOT TO GET UP PRETTY EARLY TO OUT-SCOOT A SALAMANDER!
The dog runs past Sally. It pulls the chipmunks on their skateboard.
(Chipmunks laughing)
Oleander cries, DO SOMETHING! GRAB THEIR SKATEBOARD.
Sally says BUT THAT'S NOT PROPER RACING. THAT'S JUST BEING PULLED ALONG.
(Chipmunk blows a raspberry)
(Sally panting)
Sally says I CAN'T CATCH THEM! WELL, AT LEAST I WAS CONSCIENTIOUS.
The dog runs past a playground with the chipmunks holding its leash. The dog looks at a hotdog cart and turns toward it. The chipmunks are pulled along. The dog stops and the chipmunks land in mustard and ketchup containers.
(Panicked chittering)
(Cheering)
Sally raises her hand as she comes to a stop. Oleander runs to her.
Oleander says, YOU WON! LOOKS LIKE BEING CONSCIENTIOUS PAID OFF AFTER ALL.
Yellow text reads: CONSCIENTIOUS
(Angry chittering)
Sally asks, SO... WHO WANTS TO RACE ME NEXT?
Ben and Teddy come over. Ben holds Massimo.
Oleander says, UMM...
(Massimo coos)
Sally says, OKAY, MASSIMO, BUT I'M WARNING YOU, I'M REALLY FAST!
(Laughter)
