Birds gather in a forest.

Odo the owl says,
HERE I COME!

(Bush rustles)

Odo, a small brown owl with white markings, runs past a blue bird, chickens, a peacock, and yellow birds.

Odo sings, ODO

Birds sing,
ODO, ODO, ODO

(Cluck)

Odo jumps into a muddy puddle with two toucans.

(Splash)

Odo leaps on a fallen tree trunk with Doodle, a small blue bird. Flamingos pop their heads out of the trunk.

Birds sing,
ODO, ODO, ODO

Odo jumps on a tree stump. The birds surround him.

The title reads, “Odo”.

Odo winks.

A tall wooden slide stands in the middle of a forest. The camp leader, an eagle with a green cap, lands on the top of it.

Text reads, “Fear of Flying”.

She says,
CAMPERS, WELCOME TO YOUR
FIRST FLYING LESSON!
NOW, I KNOW YOU MAY BE A BIT
EXCITED.

The birds cheer, YEAH!

The camp leader adds,
BUT IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU
STAY CALM AND FOLLOW THESE
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
EACH OF YOU WILL CLIMB TO THE
TOP OF THE SLIDE.
ONCE THERE, YOU WILL WAIT FOR MY
SIGNAL.

(Honking)

The camp leader squeezes a red horn. She slides headfirst down the slide.

The camp leader says,
YOU WILL THEN FLAP YOUR WINGS
LIKE SO…

The camp leader soars off of the slide.

Odo and Doodle look up at the camp leader.

They say, OOH.

The camp leader lands on a target in the grass.

She says,
COMING TO A LANDING HERE AND
MOVING ASIDE TO MAKE ROOM FOR
THE NEXT CAMPER.
NOW, THEN, WHO WOULD LIKE TO GO
FIRST?

Odo stands at the top of the slide.

He shouts,
ME, ME!
I'M READY!

(Honking)

Odo slides down the slide.

He says,
DOODLE, LOOK!
I'M FLYING!
I'M FLY--
UGH!

Odo falls to the ground.

The camp leader says,
GOOD SHOW, ODO, BUT REMEMBER
TO FLAP YOUR WINGS NEXT TIME.
IT IS A RATHER IMPORTANT PART OF
FLYING.

Odo replies, I'LL REMEMBER.

The other birds climb the ladder of the slide. A goose stands at the top.

(Honking)

The goose slides down the slide.

It says,
WHEE!
AH.

The goose lands on the target.

(Honking)

A flamingo slides down the slide.

It says, UH-- OH-- OH.

The flamingo lands next to the target.

(Grunting)

(Honking three times)

Three chickens slide down the slide.

A chicken says, OH!

(Squawking)

Another chicken adds, AH!

(Honking)

(Laughing)

A peacock spreads its wings as it slides off the slide. It lands on the target.

The peacock says, OH, YES!

Two toucans give him a thumbs up.

Doodle stands at the top of the slide.

(Honking)

Doodle looks scared.

She says, UH... OH...

Odo says,
YOU'RE GOING TO BE
GREAT, DOODLE!

(Honking)

Doodle says, OH.

The camp leader asks,
DOODLE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY
FLYING ANOTHER TIME?

Doodle nods.

She replies, UH-HUH.

The camp leader says,
NO WORRIES, DEAR.
YOU'LL FLY WHEN YOU'RE READY.
IF ANYONE WISHES TO KEEP
PRACTISING, YOU MAY CONTINUE
DURING FREE PLAYTIME.

Doodle climbs down the ladder of the slide. Odo meets her at the bottom.

Odo asks,
WHY DIDN'T YOU TRY TO FLY,
DOODLE?

Doodle replies,
I'M NOT SURE.
IT'S LIKE THERE WAS THIS LITTLE
VOICE IN MY EAR TELLING ME
NOT TO.

Odo says,
A VOICE IN YOUR EAR?
DON'T WORRY, DOODLE.
WE'LL GET THAT VOICE OUT.
I KNOW WE CAN.

Later, Odo looks in Doodle’s ear.

Odo shouts,
LITTLE VOICE, CAN YOU
COME OUT, PLEASE?
LITTLE VOICE, CAN YOU HEAR ME?
I DON'T SEE ANYONE IN THERE.

(Birds singing)

Three yellow birds fly past Odo and Doodle.

Odo says,
HMM.
WHAT IF YOU HEARD OTHER VOICES
BEFORE YOU STARTED SLIDING?
IF THEY WERE LOUD ENOUGH...

Doodle replies,
THEN I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO
HEAR THE LITTLE VOICE.

Odo says,
EXACTLY, AND I KNOW JUST THE
BIRDS THAT CAN HELP US.

Odo and Doodle stand at the top of the slide.

Odo counts,
AND A-ONE, AND A-TWO, AND A-ONE,
TWO, THREE.

The three yellow birds sing,
THE LITTLE VOICE
YOU CANNOT HEAR
BECAUSE WE'RE SINGING
IN YOUR EAR
WE ARE HERE TO SAVE THE DAY
YOU WILL ONLY HEAR
WHAT WE SAY

Doodle looks down at the bottom of the slide. She glances at the yellow birds.

Doodle says, NO.

Odo asks,
CAN YOU STILL HEAR THE LITTLE
VOICE?

Doodle replies,
IT'S NOT THAT.
IT'S JUST, EVERY TIME I LOOK
DOWN THERE, I CAN SEE MYSELF
CRASHING.

Odo says,
BUT HOW CAN YOU SEE YOURSELF
OVER THERE IF YOU'RE OVER HERE?

Doodle replies,
I DON'T KNOW.
I JUST DO.

Odo adds,
HMM.
MAYBE WE COULD SHOW YOU
SOMETHING WHEN YOU SLIDE.
THAT WAY, INSTEAD OF SEEING
YOURSELF, YOU'LL SEE--

Doodle asks,
WHAT?
WHAT WILL YOU SHOW ME?

The other birds line up in front of Odo in the forest.

Odo says,
THANKS, EVERYONE!
OUR MISSION IS TO SHOW DOODLE
SOMETHING AMAZING RIGHT BEFORE
SHE TRIES FLYING.
THAT WAY, SHE WON'T SEE HERSELF.

The peacock replies,
I'LL OPEN MY BEAUTIFUL TAIL.
IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL, SHE WON'T BE
ABLE TO LOOK AT ANYTHING ELSE.
DO WE ALL AGREE?

The other birds shrug.

A goose says,
RUDY AND I CAN PERFORM A
PIRO-NECK.

The peacock replies, UH...

A blue and orange bird raises its wing.

It says,
I'LL SHOW DOODLE MY CAMP
LEADER IMPRESSION.
TINNED PEACHES, YUM!

(Others laughing)

The blue and orange bird continues,
MY FAVOURITE!

(Chickens squawking)

(All laughing)

Three chickens wear boots on their heads.

Peacock responds, THAT'S SO FUNNY!

Odo says,
THAT'S PERFECT, EVERYBODY.
DO ALL THAT.
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE DOODLE
FLYING IN NO TIME.

Odo and Doodle stand on the top of the slide.

Odo shouts, READY, EVERYBODY?

The other birds look up from the ground.

They shout, READY!

Odo says, AND... GO!

(Birds singing gibberish)

(Laughing)

The peacock spreads its feathers.

It says, LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL TAIL.

(Geese humming)

The geese dance together.

The peacock adds,
ISN'T IT GORGEOUS?

(Chickens squawking)

Odo says,
THAT'S GREAT, EVERYBODY!
THIS'LL REALLY HELP DOODLE
RELAX.

Doodle looks down at the other birds.

Peacock says, OH, I LOVE IT.

(All squawking, chattering)

The chickens wear the boots on their heads. They bang them on the ground.

(Laughing)

(Others squawking, chattering)

(Laughing)

Doodle looks worried. She shakes at the top of the slide.

(All squawking, chattering)

Odo shouts,
OKAY, DOODLE!
I THINK YOU CAN TRY TO FLY NOW!

(Other birds quieting)

Doodle climbs down the ladder.

Odo says, HUH?

Doodle looks upset as she walks into the forest.

The camp leader lands at the top of the slide.

She asks,
IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT, ODO?

Odo answers,
NOT REALLY.
DOODLE IS SAD, AND I THINK IT
MIGHT BE MY FAULT.

The camp leader replies,
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT
HAPPENED?

Odo says,
WELL, I WANTED TO HELP HER
FLY, AND I TRIED TO MAKE HER NOT
HEAR THINGS OR SEE THINGS.
BUT IT LOOKS LIKE ALL I DID WAS
MAKE HER EVEN MORE UPSET.

The camp leader picks up Odo.

She says,
PERHAPS THE PROBLEM ISN'T
WHAT DOODLE HEARD OR SAW BUT
WHAT SHE FELT.

Odo asks,
BUT HOW COULD I HELP WITH
THAT?

The camp leader replies,
WELL, THERE'S ACTUALLY A
TRICK TO IT: LISTEN.

Odo says, I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING.

(Laughing)

The camp leader adds,
SOMETIMES, JUST TALKING ABOUT
A THING THAT SCARES US CAN MAKE
THAT THING A LOT LESS SCARY.
AND ALL WE NEED IS A GOOD FRIEND
WHO'S WILLING TO LISTEN.

Odo replies, OH!

Odo approaches Doodle at a campfire site. They sit on a pile of branches.

Odo asks,
HOW ARE YOU, DOODLE?

Doodle replies,
ODO, I'M SORRY I WALKED AWAY.
IT'S JUST, I THINK I'M SCARED OF
FLYING.

Odo asks, WHY ARE YOU SCARED?

Doodle says,
UM... WELL, IT'S KIND OF SILLY.

Odo replies,
COULD YOU TELL ME?
I'D REALLY LIKE TO LISTEN.

Doodle answers,
IT'S JUST, SOMETIMES, WHEN I
TRY TO FLAP MY WINGS, I END UP
DOING THIS INSTEAD.
HONK!

(Babbling)

Doodle leaps into the air and flaps her wings.

Doodle says,
SEE?
WHAT IF EVERYONE NOTICES?
I DON'T WANT THEM TO MAKE FUN OF
ME.

Odo wraps his wing around Doodle’s shoulder. Doodle hugs him.

Doodle adds,
THANKS, ODO.
IT FEELS BETTER TALKING ABOUT IT.

(Gasping)

Odo says,
I HAVE AN IDEA!

All the birds stand at the top of the slide.

Odo says,
OKAY, EVERYONE, YOU KNOW WHAT
TO DO!

The blue and orange bird slides down the slide.

It says, WHEE!

(Babbling)

The geese slide down the slide.

They say, HONK!

(Babbling)

The chickens slide down the slide.

They say, HONK!

(Babbling)

The peacock slides down the slide.
It says, HONK!

(Babbling)

Odo says,
CHECK IT OUT, DOODLE!
NOW, NO ONE WILL THINK IT'S
FUNNY OR STRANGE, BECAUSE WE'RE
ALL DOING IT, TOO!
HONK!

Odo slides down the slide.

(Babbling)

The birds on the ground look up at Doodle.

They chant,
DOODLE, DOODLE, DOODLE,
DOODLE, DOODLE!

(Inhaling deeply)

Doodle slides down the slide.

The birds continue, DOODLE, DOODLE!

Doodle soars in the air.

She says, HONK!

(Babbling)
