[Music playing]

Odo, an animated brown and white owl, pops up in a forest.

Odo says, HERE I COME!

Doodle singing, ODO!

Odo hops through the forest, past different types of birds. He jumps into a mud puddle with Bud and Louie, two toucan parrots.

All singing, ODO! ODO! ODO! ODO!

Odo stands on a stump. Birds fill the forest.

All singing, ODO! ODO! ODO! ODO!

A title reads: ODO

Odo winks.

[Chimes]

[Music playing]

It is a sunny day.

An episode title reads: Bird Statues

Camp Leader, a bald eagle in a hat, stands outside facing a group of young birds.

Camp Leader says, GOOD MORNING, CAMPERS. TODAY IS FREE PLAY DAY, WHICH MEANS YOU CAN PLAY WHATEVER GAME YOU WANT.

Shirley, a chicken, jumps forward.

Shirley says, BIRD STATUES! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.

A parrot says, BIRD STATUES? BIRD STATUES? WHAT'S THAT?

[Squawks]

A red chicken says, IT'S A GAME.

Flo says, ONE BIRD TURNS THEIR BACK.

The red chicken says, WE ALL TRY TO SNEAK UP.

Flo says, THE BIRD SPINS AROUND, AND IF THEY SEE YOU MOVE, YOU'RE OUT.

The red chicken says, SO YOU TRY TO STAY STILL, LIKE A STATUE.

Flo says, AND SHIRLEY ALWAYS WINS.

Shirley cries, YAY! I'M IT! EVERYBODY WHO WANTS TO PLAY, LINE UP.

Odo says, I THINK I'LL HAVE A GO.

Doodle says, OKAY. I'LL WATCH AND CHEER, ODO. CHEERING IS IMPORTANT.

The chickens say, SHIRLEY IS THE BEST! SHIRLEY IS THE BEST!

The toucans, Bud and Louie, fly up to a branch with a microphone hanging above it.

Bud says, LISTEN TO THE FANS CHEERING FOR SHIRLEY.

Louie says, YUP, THEY'RE EGGING HER ON.

[Both laugh]

Bud says, OH, EGGING!

The chickens chant, YAY, SHIRLEY! YAY, SHIRLEY!

Camp Leader holds a horn.

[Horn toot]

Shirley turns her back on a line of birds.

Shirley says, HA!

The birds slowly walk forward.

[Gasping and whimpering]

Shirley turns and the birds freeze.

Shirley says, HMPH.

Shirley turns her back and the birds creep forward again.

[Gasping]

Shirley whirls around. The birds freeze. She turns back and the birds move closer. She turns again.

[Shirley scoffs]

Thelma stands on one leg.

[Gasping]

Shirley’s eyes narrow. She turns and Thelma wipe away sweat. The geese charge towards Shirley.

Shirley says, HA!

She turns and the geese skid to a stop. They fall in front of her.

Shirley says, YOU'RE OUT.

[Geese groan]

Birds cheer, GO, SHIRLEY! GO, SHIRLEY!

Bud says, SHIRLEY'S GONNA WIN. I'VE GOT A FEELING IN MY BELLY.

Louie says, IN YOUR BELLY? MUST BE THAT SPICY BEAN BURGER YOU ATE.

[Both laugh]

Shirley smiles as she faces the remaining players. They are all frozen, standing on one leg. Shirley turns her back to them and the birds race forward.

[Panting]

Shirley turns. The flamingos tumble past her.

[Chickens laugh]

Thelma and Odo stand frozen. Thelma wobbles.

[Whimpering]

Odo whispers, YOU CAN DO IT, THELMA.

[Thelma wails]

Thelma falls over.

Thelma says, NO, I CAN'T.

Birds shout, GO, SHIRLEY! YEAH! YOU CAN DO IT!

[Western music]

Shirley puts a grass stem in her beak.

Shirley says, NOW IT'S JUST YOU AND ME, ODO.

Odo says, I WILL BEAT SHIRLEY. I KNOW I CAN.

Shirley turns and then swiftly turns back.

Shirley says, HYAH! HMM.

Odo stands still.

[All gasp]

Flo says, HEY, HOW DID ODO GET SO CLOSE ALL OF A SUDDEN?

Doodle cries, GO, ODO! COME ON, EVERYBODY! GIVE ME AN O! GIVE ME A D! GIVE ME AN O! GIVE ME AN... ANOTHER O! WHAT'S THAT SPELL?

All say, ODOO?

Doodle says, OH. I DID ONE O TOO MANY.

[Giggles]

Odo and Shirley face each other. Shirley turns. She turns back and Odo stand close to her.

Shirley says, OH…

Flo calls, FINISH HIM, SHIRLEY!

Doodle calls, TAG THAT CHICKEN, ODO!

Shirley turns back and forth. Odo steps forward. Shirley sweats.

[Both grunting]

Shirley turns. Odo reaches her.

Odo says, TAG.

[Squawks]

Birds cheer, YAY, ODO!

The red chicken says, SHIRLEY LOST.

Flo says, SHE DID? OH, THAT'S BAD.

Louie says, UNBELIEVABLE! LITTLE ODO HAS WON THE GAME!

Louie says, THE OWL HAS DONE THE IMPOSSIBLE! I DON'T EVEN HAVE A JOKE FOR THIS!

Bud says, YOU'VE GOT TO BE JOKING.

[Laughing]

Doodle shouts, ODO WON! ODO WON! I KNEW IT!

Odo says, THANKS, DOODLE!

Shirley says, THIS ISN'T OVER, ODO! I DEMAND A REMATCH!

Odo says, OH, SO I'M IT?

Bud says, THE GAME IS BACK ON.

Odo takes Shirley’s place.

Thelma says, HEY, NOW THAT SHIRLEY ISN'T IT, MAYBE SOMEBODY ELSE CAN WIN.

All the birds run to get in a line facing Odo.

[Overlapping chatter]

Doodle calls, YOU CAN DO IT, ODO!

Odo asks, YOU THINK SO?

Doodle says, I KNOW SO.

Odo says, YOU'RE RIGHT. I KNOW I CAN.

[Horn toots]

Odo turns. The birds cautiously step forward. Odo keeps his back turned, and the birds walk closer.

[Birds huff]

Louie says, WHAT IS THAT OWL DOING?

Doodle says, HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING. ODO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Odo waits. The other birds exchange glances, then rush forward.

[Grunts]

Odo turns his head. The birds freeze, then wobble and fall over.

Odo says, I SEE ZU, BEA, AND DOO. I SEE RUBY AND JOHN JOHN!

[Gasps]

Bud says, WHAT'S GOING ON? ODO JUST TOOK OUT FIVE BIRDS IN FIVE SECONDS!

[Music playing]

Birds singing, WE THOUGHT WE'D WIN AT LAST BUT THE OWL SPINS TOO FAST.

Doodle says, IT'S ODO'S SECRET WEAPON. HE'S AN OWL, SO HE CAN TURN HIS HEAD ALL THE WAY AROUND.

Flo says, THAT'S NOT FAIR! CAMP LEADER?

Camp Leader says, I'LL ALLOW IT.

Odo turns his head.

Odo says, HA!

He turns his head again and more birds are out.

Odo says, HA! HA! HA!

Only Shirley is left playing. She stands frozen.

[Nervous clucking]

Odo asks, CAMP LEADER, CAN WE HAVE A TIME OUT?

[Horn toots]

Shirley slumps.

Odo asks, ARE YOU OKAY, SHIRLEY?

[Shirley pants]

Doodle asks, WHY DID YOU CALL A TIME OUT? YOU'RE WINNING.

Odo says, WHAT'S WRONG WITH SHIRLEY? I THINK BIRD STATUES MEANS A LOT TO HER. SHE'S USUALLY THE BEST.

Doodle says, AND WITH HER FRIENDS CHEERING, MAYBE SHE'S NERVOUS.

Odo walks over to Shirley.

Odo says, SHIRLEY, YOU'RE GREAT AT BIRD STATUES. REALLY GREAT. YOU'VE JUST GOT TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. LOOK AT ME. I DIDN'T KNOW IF I WAS GONNA GET THIS FAR. SO I JUST BELIEVED I COULD DO IT. AND I DID. TRY IT.

Shirley says, THANKS, ODO. YOU'RE RIGHT. I AM GOOD AT BIRD STATUES.

Odo says, YEAH. BUT I'M GOOD TOO.

Shirley says, YOU ARE. MAY THE BEST BIRD WIN.

Odo and Shirley walk back to their positions.

[Horn toots]

Odo turns.

Odo says, AND I GOT—

Odo stops. Shirley is gone.

[Music playing]

Shirley somersaults in slow motion over Odo’s head. The other birds stare.

Odo says, HEY. WHERE DID YOU GO?

Shirley lands behind Odo and puts her wings on his shoulders.

Shirley says, GOTCHA.

[Birds cheer]

Shirley dances.

Odo says, WELL, THE BEST BIRD WON.

Shirley says, BUT ONLY BECAUSE YOU HELPED THIS BIRD BELIEVE IN HERSELF.

All the birds cheer, SHIRLEY! SHIRLEY! SHIRLEY!

The birds lift Shirley and Odo in the air.

[Laughing]

Odo and Shirley high five.
