[Music playing]

Odo, an animated brown and white owl, pops up in a forest.

Odo says, HERE I COME!

Doodle singing, ODO!

Odo hops through the forest, past different types of birds. He jumps into a mud puddle with Bud and Louie, two toucan parrots.

All singing, ODO! ODO! ODO! ODO!

Odo stands on a stump. Birds fill the forest.

All singing, ODO! ODO! ODO! ODO!

A title reads: ODO

Odo winks.

[Chimes]

[Music playing]

Leaves blow above the trees of the forest.

An episode title reads: Flower Power

Odo’s mother stands with Odo at the entrance to the camp.

Mum says, IT'S GOING TO BE A COLD ONE TODAY, ODO, SO KEEP WARM!

She puts earmuffs on Odo. They hug.

Mum says, AWW.

Odo says, BYE, MUM!

Odo runs to join a line of campers in a glade facing Camp Leader, an eagle in a cap.

Camp Leader says, GOOD MORNING, CAMPERS. I'VE GOT A SURPRISE FOR YOU TODAY!

All say, OOOH!

Camp Leader continues, IT'S A VERY RARE PLANT, THAT HASN'T GROWN IN THIS FOREST FOR YEARS! PRESENTING, THE RED HELLEBORINE!

[Gasps]

Camp Leader takes a cloth off a small green plant growing on the ground.

[All sigh]

Camp Leader says, I KNOW IT MAY NOT LOOK LIKE MUCH NOW BUT BELIEVE ME, THIS PLANT HAS LOTS OF POTENTIAL!

Odo says, HMM?

Camp Leader says, TODAY IS A SPECIAL DAY FOR THIS LITTLE FELLOW, AND I'M LOOKING FOR SOME VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE SURE NO HARM COMES TO IT.

The line of campers steps back, leaving Odo and Doodle.

Camp Leader says, THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING, ODO AND DOODLE.

Both say, HUH?

Odo says, YES, WE WILL LOOK AFTER THE PLANT! JUST BECAUSE IT'S LITTLE, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT GREAT.

Doodle says, I THINK IT NEEDS US.

Bud says, IT DOESN'T NEED YOU.

Louie says, IT NEEDS A MAKE-OVER!

Bud says, YES!

[Chuckles]

Odo says, IT'S GOT POTENTIAL!

Flo asks, WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

The other chickens say, I DON'T KNOW?

The campers walk away, leaving Doodle and Odo with the plant.

Odo says, DON'T WORRY, LITTLE, UM... WHAT SHOULD WE CALL HIM?

Doodle says, BUDDY. BECAUSE OF HIS BUD.

Odo says, PERFECT. WE'RE GONNA TAKE CARE OF YOU, BUDDY.

[Music playing]

Odo and Doodle march back and forth in front of the plant.

[Canaries humming]

Doodle asks, HUH? CAN YOU HEAR SOMETHING, ODO?

[Humming continues]

The three yellow canaries fly above.

[Gasps]

Odo says, IT'S THE CANARIES PRACTICING.

The plant sways.

Doodle says, I THINK BUDDY LIKES IT!

[Louder humming]

The plant droops.

Odo says, OH, NO! BUDDY DOESN'T LIKE IT! ZU! BEA! DOO! PLEASE BE QUIET!

Odo puts his earmuffs over the plant’s bud. It straightens up.

[Laughter]

A chicken shouts, HEY!

A ball knocks the earmuffs off the plant.

[Gasps]

The three chickens run while carrying cricket bats.

Odo cries, HEY, WATCH OUT FOR BUDDY!

[Grunting]

Odo throws the ball back at them. Flo hits it with her bat.

[Gasping]

Doodle flies up and kicks the ball away. Flo hits it again and Odo knocks it into some bushes.

[All clucking]

The chickens run after it.

Flo cries, THE BALL! IT'S GETTING AWAY!

Jo says, THE BALL!

Flo says, GET IT!

The chickens run back and forth.

Odo says, I THINK WE NEED SOME HELP LOOKING AFTER BUDDY!

Doodle says, YOU STAY HERE AND I'LL SEE IF I CAN FIND SOMEONE.

Shirley calls, THE BALL!

Odo calls, DON'T BE LONG!

He ducks as the canaries fly overhead.

[Gasps]

They fly past Pigeon Post. He walks to Odo, carrying his mailbag.

[Hoots]

Pigeon says, OH, HELLO.

Odo says, OH, HELLO, PIGEON POST.

Pigeon asks, WHAT'S GOING ON HERE THEN, ODO?

Odo says, I'M WATCHING BUDDY, THIS PLANT. IT'S MY JOB TODAY.

Pigeon says, SO, YOUR JOB IS TO JUST STAND AROUND ALL DAY DOING NOTHING? BLISS! DO YOU KNOW WHAT HELPS MY PLANTS AT HOME THRIVE? TALKING TO THEM! PLANTS LOVE COMPANY. ISN'T THAT RIGHT, BUDDY?

Pigeon sits down.

Pigeon continues, USUALLY, I LIKE TO TALK TO MY PLANTS ABOUT LEAVES AND YOU LOOK LIKE THE KIND OF PLANT WHO WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED IN LEAVES. DID YOU KNOW THAT LEAVES ARE THE PRINCIPAL LATERAL APPENDAGE OF THE VASCULAR PLANT STEM, USUALLY BORNE ABOVE GROUND AND SPECIALIZED FOR PHOTOSYNTHESIS.

The plant droops.

[Gasps]

Doodle stands outside a tiny house.

Doodle calls, MICHAEL! ODO NEEDS HELP!

Michael, a mouse with large ears, sticks his head out of the house.

Michael says, IF ODO NEEDS HELP, THEN I'M THERE!

Reggie the fox sticks his head out of some bushes.

Reggie says, DID SOMEONE SAY ODO NEEDS HELP? I CAN HELP! COMING, ODO!

Pigeon says, LEAVES TURN SUNLIGHT INTO STARCHES AND SUGARS, WHICH IS FOOD FOR THE TREE. LEAVES ARE SO CLEVER!

Odo looks worried.

Odo says, YOU KNOW WHO ELSE LOVES LEAVES? CAMP LEADER! PIGEON POST WAS JUST TELLING US ALL ABOUT LEAVES.

Camp Leader walks over.

Camp Leader says, ANOTHER AMATEUR BOTANIST LIKE MYSELF!

[Chuckles]

Camp Leader continues, TELL ME, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE TREE LEAVES?

Pigeon says, I THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK! FOR ME I'D RANK THEM, BIRCH, MAPLE, POPLAR, WALNUT, OAK, ELM, WILLOW, AND ASH.

Pigeon and Camp Leader walk off.

Camp Leader says, INTERESTING!

The plant straightens up. Reggie runs to Odo.

Reggie says, DOODLE SAID YOU NEEDED HELP!

Doodle says, HERE I AM! EEP! FOX!

Michael hops over.

Michael says, AND HERE I AM TOO! EEP! FOX!

Odo says, IT'S OKAY. IT'S JUST REGGIE.

Reggie says, UM, I THOUGHT I WOULD BE THE BEST ONE FOR THE JOB.

Michael asks, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE JOB IS?

Odo says, WE'RE GUARDING THIS PLANT.

Reggie says, OH. IT'S VERY, UMM...

Michael says, GREEN?

Odo says, BUDDY HAS POTENTIAL.

Two geese turn a skipping rope while a flamingo jumps.

All chanting, ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! HOP! SKIP! JUMPS SOME MORE! HEP! HEP! ONE! TWO!

[Gasping]

The rope and the jumping trample plants around them. They advance towards Buddy. Odo and the others stand in front of the plant.

Geese chanting, HOP! HOP! DON'T STOP! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TEN! CLAP YOUR WINGS AND JUMP AGAIN! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! HOP! HOP! DON'T STOP! HEP. HEP. ONE! TWO! HEP! HEP!

Odo, Doodle and Michael stand on Reggie’s back and block the geese. They skip away.

Geese chanting, DON'T STOP. SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TEN! CLAP YOUR WINGS AND JUMP AGAIN! ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR. HOP! SKIP! JUMPS SOME MORE! HEP, HEP, HEP, HEP, HEP, HEP, HEP, HEP,

Odo says, THAT WAS CLOSE.

Doodle says, YES. BUT WE DID IT! YEAH!

Odo and Doodle high five. Reggie and Michael slap paws.

Michael and Reggie say, HOP! HOP! UP HIGH! DOWN LOW! UNDER! OVER! AROUND THE BACK! WHEE!

Odo says, WOW, YOU TWO MAKE A GREAT TEAM!

Michael says, I'M NOT AS GOOD A HIGH-FIVER AS REGGIE.

Reggie says, NO, BUT YOU'VE GOT BAGS OF POTENTIAL!

Odo asks, REGGIE, WHAT IS "POTENTIAL"?

Reggie says, POTENTIAL MEANS EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT DOING SOMETHING GREAT RIGHT NOW, YOU WILL BE DOING SOMETHING GREAT SOON.

All say, AHHH.

[Music playing]

The sun begins to set behind the trees.

Reggie asks, SO, WHEN DOES BUDDY SHOW HIS POTENTIAL, ODO?

Odo says, I DON'T KNOW.

Camp Leader says, OAK IS STILL MY FAVOURITE LEAF!

Camp Leader and Pigeon walk over.

[Chuckles]

Pigeon says, WHAT A JOURNEY!

Camp Leader says, OH, HELLO YOU TWO! AND NOW, GATHER AROUND CAMPERS! IT'S TIME FOR BUDDY'S BIG MOMENT.

[All gasping]

Buddy blooms into a large pink flower.

[More gasps]

The campers stare.

Odo says, WOW! BUDDY, YOU LOOK AMAZING! AND YOU SMELL SO SWEET!

[All exclaiming]

Camp Leader says, AND THE SPECTACLE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WERE IT NOT FOR ODO, DOODLE, REGGIE AND MICHAEL, GUARDIANS OF THE PLANT!

[Clapping]

Flo asks, GUARDING THE PLANT FROM WHAT?

Odo bows.

Odo says, THANK YOU! IT'S BEEN BLOOMING BRILLIANT!

Michael says, LET US KNOW IF YOU NEED HELP AGAIN, ANYTIME!

Camp Leader says, LET'S TAKE A PICTURE!

[Camera clicking]

A photograph shows Odo, Doodle, Michael and Reggie around the flower.
