(Upbeat music)

Animated aliens move around a spaceship. Real-life children wave from screens.

Singing, BLYNK AND AAZOO I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU

A title reads: Blynk & Aazoo. Ask, Explore, Discover!

A diamond-shaped spaceship floats above a blue planet.

(Upbeat chime)

Blynk, a spiky-haired green alien, types on a control panel. Aazoo, an orange alien with three eyes, walks on the ceiling with blue and purple boots. Aazoo hangs gold stars from the ceiling.

(Humming)

(Aazoo gasping)

A star falls and lands on Blynk.

M.A.V.I.S says, CAUTION FALLING STARS. BLYNK, MAYBE YOU SHOULD MAKE A WISH.

(Foghorn sounds)

M.A.V.I.S says, INCOMING INQUIRY. INQUIRY BOOTH TRANSMITTING.

(Aazoo screeches)

Aazoo releases the boots and falls.

(Crashing)

Blynk says, AAZOO.

Aazoo wears a wreath of stars.

(Happy alien sounds)

(Stars twinkle)

Aazoo and Blynk zip over to two large screens. A child with glasses and short black hair appears on one screen.

The black-haired child says, HI, BLYNK AND AAZOO. IT'S ME, ALI, AND I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU. WHY IS THE SKY BLUE?

M.A.V.I.S. says, BLYNK AND AAZOO WILL NOW ENGAGE IN SOME BLUE SKY THINKING. THIS MIGHT TAKE A WHILE.

Blynk and Aazoo shrug.

M.A.V.I.S. says, INTERSTELLAR SCIENCE COUNCIL CALLING, CAPTAIN.

A person with brown hair appears on the other screen.

Text reads, Aaron, Scientist

Aaron says, HI, ALI. AARON HERE. I MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU WITH THAT.

Ali says, AWESOME, THANKS.

Aaron says, WHY IS THE SKY BLUE? THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION. LET'S START WITH GAS.

(Aazoo passes gas)

Ali says, AAZOO.

Aaron says, NOT THAT KIND OF GAS. THE GASES IS IN OUR AIR.

M.A.V.I.S. says, INITIATING EMERGENCY AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM, AGAIN.

Ali says, SO YOU WERE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT BLUE SKY AND GAS.

Aaron says, BLYNK ACCESS YOUR EARTH FILES, PLEASE. SUBCATEGORY, COLOURS IN 'DI SKIES'.

Blynk touches a screen.

A video shows a blue sky.

Aaron narrates, OUR AIR IS MADE UP OF A LOT OF DIFFERENT GASES, MOSTLY NITROGEN AND OXYGEN. BUT GASES ARE ONLY HALF THE PICTURE. WHAT ELSE DO WE USUALLY SPY IN A BRIGHT BLUE SKY?

Ali asks, THE SUN?

(Music playing)

Aaron says, RIGHT, AND DID YOU KNOW THAT SUNLIGHT CONTAINS ALL THE COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW?

Ali asks, ALL THE COLOURS?

Aaron says, YEP, AND EVEN THOUGH THE SUN LOOKS YELLOW, IT'S TRUE COLOUR IS WHITE AND WHITE IS ACTUALLY A COMBINATION OF ALL THE COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW.

M.A.V.I.S says, IF YOU USE A PRISM, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THEM ALL.

Ali asks, YOU CAN? HOW?

M.A.V.I.S says, ALL LIGHT, INCLUDING SUNLIGHT, TRAVELS IN A STRAIGHT LINE BUT A PRISM CAN BEND LIGHT, REVEALING ALL ITS COLOURS.

Ali says, AMAZING.

Aaron says, WHEN WHITE SUNLIGHT REACHES THE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE THE GASES IN OUR AIR SPLIT UP THE COLOURS, SCATTERING AND BOUNCING THEM AROUND THE SKY.

M.A.V.I.S says, AFFIRMATIVE. AND FURTHERMORE, BECAUSE OF THE TYPES OF GASES IN EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE, IT IS MOSTLY THE BLUE LIGHT THAT IS SCATTERED

Ali says, SO THAT'S WHY WE SEE BLUE.

Aaron says, EXACTLY.

Ali asks, BUT WHAT HAPPENS AT SUNSET WHEN THE SKY IS REDDISH AND ORANGE?

Aaron says, WHEN THE SUN IS LOWER IN THE SKY, IT'S LIGHT HAS TO TRAVEL THROUGH MORE GASES IN THE ATMOSPHERE TO REACH YOU.

Ali asks, SO THE BLUE GETS SCATTERED EVEN MORE?

Aaron says, ALONG WITH THE GREEN AND YELLOW LIGHT. WHAT'S LEFT IS THE RED AND ORANGE YOU SEE AT DUSK.

A red sunset is shown.

Blynk and Aazoo give thumbs ups.

Ali says, I REALLY LOVE SUNSETS. ANOTHER QUESTION JUST CAME TO ME. WHY ARE CLOUDS WHITE?

Aaron says, BLYNK, FLUFFY WHITE CLOUDS, PLEASE.

Blynk says, YEEHAW.

White clouds are in a blue sky.

Aaron says, CLOUDS ARE MADE OF TINY WATER DROPLETS THAT SCATTER ALL THE COLOURS IN SUNLIGHT EQUALLY.

Aazoo says, WOW.

Aaron asks, AND ALL THE COLOURS TOGETHER?

Ali says, MAKES WHITE.

Grey clouds are reflected in a puddle.

M.A.V.I.S says, EXCEPT IF THERE IS A LOT OF WATER IN THE CLOUDS WHICH CAN BLOCK MOST OF THE SUNLIGHT. THEN THE CLOUDS WILL LOOK GRAY.

Ali says, RAIN CLOUDS. SO YOU GET DIFFERENT COLOURS IN THE SKY, DEPENDING ON WHAT SUNLIGHT HITS.

M.A.V.I.S says, A VERY CLEVER DEDUCTION, IF I MAY SAY SO.

Blynk says, TATEE!

(Keyboard clicks)

A video shows reddish clouds filling a horizon.

Aaron says, GOOD FIND, BLYNK. THAT'S A DUST STORM SKY. IN THIS CASE, DUST IN THE AIR, PLUS ATMOSPHERIC GASES MAKES BLUE LIGHT SCATTER EVEN MORE AND MAKES THE SKY APPEAR RED.

Ali asks, IS THAT WHY THE SKY'S RED ON MARS? DUST? THAT'S ONE REASON. BLYNK?

Blynk says, HEEHAW.

(Keyboard typing)

M.A.V.I.S says, LOCATED MARS.

A reddish Martian landscape of rocks and mountains is shown.

Aaron says, MARS' SKIES ARE RED BECAUSE ITS THIN ATMOSPHERE IS MADE OF A GAS CALLED CARBON DIOXIDE AND CONTAINS DUST, WHICH MAKES LIGHT SCATTERED DIFFERENTLY THAN ON EARTH.

A blue green sky appears.

M.A.V.I.S says, LOCATED TURQUOISE SUNSET ON URANUS.

Ali says, WHOA, ARE THOSE COLOURS BECAUSE OF THE ATMOSPHERE AGAIN?

Aaron says, YEP.

An illustration shows a lava-filled landscape with orange skies.

M.A.V.I.S says, ALSO LOCATED ORANGE SKY ON VENUS.

Aaron says, VENUS HAS A VERY THICK ATMOSPHERE. ONLY ABOUT 20% OF SUNLIGHT REACHES THE SURFACE.

(Aazoo screeches)

Blynk types.

A pink and blue sky is shown.

Aaron says, I DON'T RECOGNIZE THAT SKY.

M.A.V.I.S says, THAT IS A SUNSET SKY ON BLYNK AND AAZOO'S HOME PLANET, NABOO.

(Aazoo chirps)

Blynk says, BA SEE?

(Camera clicks)

A photograph shows Blynk and Aazoo on a beach under a blue-green sky with two moons. A caption reads, Wish You Were Here!

Ali says, WHOA, THAT SKY IS WILD.

Aaron says, YEAH, THERE MUST BE SOME INTERESTING GASES THERE FOR SURE.

Ali asks, HEY, WHAT ABOUT RAINBOWS? HOW DO YOU GET ALL THE COLOURS TO SHOW UP AT THE SAME TIME?

Aaron says, THAT'S JUST COOL SCIENCE. REMEMBER HOW YOU CAN SPLIT UP SUNLIGHT THROUGH A PRISM? WELL, RAINDROPS ACT LIKE KIND OF A PRISM TOO. SUNLIGHT ENTERS THE RAINDROP, BENDS, REFLECTS, BENDS AGAIN, AND THEN EXITS AS ALL THE DIFFERENT COLOURS.

Ali says, SO RAINDROPS IN THE SKY SPLIT UP THE SUNLIGHT INTO A RAINBOW. COOL.

Blynk says, AHA.

M.A.V.I.S says, INSPIRATION DETECTED, INVENTION STATION IS READY, CAPTAIN.

(Blynk speaking alien gibberish)

Blynk pulls a big lever.

(Blynk grunts)

Machinery turns.

(Electricity sparks)

Blynk pours a box of parts into a machine.

(Metal clanks)

(Upbeat music begins)

The parts drop into a machine. Blynk pulls another lever. Blynk drops liquid out of an eyedropper. Robot arms build a device.

Blynk says, TADA.

Blynk holds a small blue device.

(Lasers twinkle)

A laser shoots out of the device and creates a rainbow halo around Aazoo.

Ali says, AH, WHOA. WHOA, A RAINBOW MAKER.

Aaron says, NICE RAINBOW, BLYNK.

(Aliens chirp)

Aazoo presses the button repeatedly. Lights flash and rainbows fill the room.

(Party music)

M.A.V.I.S says, THIS IS WHY WE CANNOT HAVE NICE THINGS.

Ali says, WHOA, THAT'S A LOT OF COLOURS.

Aaron says, GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RAINBOWS, BLYNK AND AAZOO.

Aaron and Ali say, BYE.

(Music playing)

M.A.V.I.S says, THE QUEST FOR ANSWERS CONTINUES. ALL SYSTEMS ENGAGED.

Singing, BLYNK AND AAZOO, I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU!
