As a theme song plays, a little girl, JoJo walks along a street, holding hands with an elderly grey-haired woman, Gran Gran. A man walking a dog, waves before being pulled away by the dog. It starts to rain. JoJo and Gran Gran hold green umbrellas and wear raincoats. It is springtime and pink blossoms bloom on trees in a park. Butterflies fly in a sunny blue sky. JoJo does a cartwheel and rolls down a hill. Gran Gran rolls down after her. JoJo tosses autumn leaves in the air. A man builds a snowman on a sidewalk. Gran Gran and JoJo walk by in coats and scarves. It is warmer weather and JoJo takes Gran Gran’s hand. Gran Gran opens a front gate to JoJo’s home.

JoJo says, WHAT SHALL WE DO WHEN WE GET HOME, GRAN GRAN?
Gran Gran says, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO, JOJO?
JoJo looks thoughtful and says, UMM.
Cynthia is building a greenhouse.
Cynthia says, AH-- OOF. THIS BIT INTO THIS BIT, AND—
(Cynthia grunting)
Cynthia says, OH, THAT'S NOT RIGHT.
JoJo waves and says, HELLO, CYNTHIA!
(JoJo giggling)
JoJo says, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Cynthia says, OH, HELLO JOJO! HI, GRAN GRAN. I'M TRYING TO BUILD MY NEW GREENHOUSE.
JoJo says, OOH!
Cynthia says, BUT I'M TRYING TO FOLLOW THIS PLAN AND, AGH, IT DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT TO ME.
Gran Gran says, I-I THINK IT MIGHT BE UPSIDE-DOWN, CYNTHIA.
Cynthia looks at the plan and says, OH! THAT'S WHAT I WAS DOING WRONG!
(Chuckling)
Cynthia says, OH, THANKS, GRAN GRAN. I THINK I'LL NEED TO START AGAIN!
JoJo says, PANDA AND I LOVE BUILDING. WE BUILD DENS WITH MUMMY AND DADDY ALL THE TIME.
Cynthia says, I'D LOVE TO SEE ONE OF YOUR DENS, JOJO. I'M SURE THEY'RE BRILLIANT!
Gran Gran says, JOJO, I'VE GOT A GRAN GRAN PLAN.
Gran Gran points into the air.
Gran Gran says, YOU CAN SHOW ME HOW TO BUILD A DEN THIS AFTERNOON.
JoJo pumps her fist and says, WOO-HOO!
A child in a green cardigan says, WELL, I WOULD PROBABLY BUILD A DEN IN MY LIVING ROOM WITH ALL THE BLANKETS AND I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD ONE OUTSIDE IN THE WOODS. AND IT WOULD PROBABLY LOOK LIKE A MINI FORT OR SOMETHING.
A child in a blue shirt says, MY DEN WOULD LOOK LIKE A—A VERY BIG ONE AND IT WOULD HAVE A FOOTBALL PITCH AND IT-- ON THE OTHER SIDE IT WOULD HAVE A SWIMMING POOL AND ON THE OTHER SIDE IT WOULD HAVE A BED.
A child in yellow overalls says, I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD A DEN AND IT'S GONNA BE A BIG CASTLE.
A child with two braids says, UH, WE MAKE DENS OUT OF STICKS. AND IF THERE'S HOLES, AND WHEN IT RAINS, THEN, YOU KNOW.
A child in an orange shirt says, YOU WILL GET WET.
The child with the two braids says, YEAH, YOU WILL GET WET.
The child in the green cardigan says, I WOULD HAVE LIKE, THIS SPECIAL PASSWORD THAT YOU HAVE TO SAY AND THE PEOPLE WHO WOULD PROBABLY LIKE-- PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T ASKED TO COME IN THE DEN WOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO KNOW THE PASSWORD.
Gran Gran is in her living room. She takes cushions from the couch and drops them onto a purple blanket on the floor.
(JoJo rummaging)
Gran Gran says, WHAT ARE YOU UP TO, JOJO? ARE YOU READY TO START BUILDING YOUR DEN?
JoJo says, READY! I JUST NEEDED A HAT LIKE CYNTHIA.
JoJo wears a yellow bowl on her head.
(Gran Gran chuckling)
JoJo says, ME AND PANDA ALWAYS BUILD THE WALLS FIRST. PANDA? PANDA!
JoJo looks around.
(Gran Gran chuckling)
(Gasping)
JoJo finds Panda under the blanket.
JoJo says, THERE YOU ARE, PANDA!
Gran Gran says, HELLO, PANDA. ARE YOU GOING TO SUPERVISE?
JoJo says, YES, PANDA. YOU SOUP-VISE!
Gran Gran and JoJo stack round orange cushions. The stack wobbles and falls.
Gran Gran says, OOPS!
JoJo hangs the purple blanket between two chairs. The blanket slips off. JoJo tries to fix it, but the blanket slips off the other chair.
Gran Gran and JoJo lean two couch cushions against each other. JoJo sticks a long pillow on top.
JoJo says, THAT'S THE CHIMNEY!
JoJo crawls under the cushions.
JoJo says, COME INTO MY DEN, GRAN GRAN. AND BRING PANDA, PLEASE.
Gran Gran hands Panda to JoJo.
Gran Gran says, I THINK THERE'S ONLY ROOM FOR ONE PERSON IN THIS DEN, JOJO.
JoJo says, OH. GRAN GRAN?
Gran Gran says, YES, JOJO?
JoJo says, CAN WE BUILD A BIGGER DEN?
Gran Gran says, IF WE WANT TO BUILD A BIGGER DEN, I THINK WE'LL NEED TO FOLLOW A PLAN.
JoJo asks, LIKE CYNTHIA'S?
Gran Gran replies, A BIT LIKE CYNTHIA'S.
JoJo sits up and knocks the cushions over.
JoJo says, YAY! OOPS.
(JoJo giggling)
(Music playing)
Gran Gran puts a piece of paper on her kitchen table. She and JoJo pick up crayons. Gran Gran scratches her head, then smiles. She draws on the paper. JoJo joins her.
The drawing shows chairs with cushions balanced on top. They draw more and the drawing shows a blanket and rugs draped over the chairs.
Gran Gran holds up the paper and says, NOW, IF WE FOLLOW THIS PLAN, WE'LL BUILD A DEN THAT'S BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL OF US.
JoJo says, WOO-HOO!
The den is set up in Gran Gran’s living room. Bunting is draped over the blanket and rugs.
JoJo says, FINISHED!
Gran Gran says, HOW WONDERFUL!
JoJo frowns and says, HMM. BUT GRAN GRAN, OUR DEN DOESN'T HAVE A FRONT DOOR. OR WINDOWS!
Gran Gran walks around the den and says, HMM.
(Gran Gran chuckling)
Gran Gran says, OH, NO!
JoJo holds Panda to her ear and says, UMM. PANDA THINKS WE NEED TO BUILD A NEW DEN, GRAN GRAN. SO, WE'LL NEED TO FOLLOW A NEW PLAN.
(Music playing)
Gran Gran puts a blank piece of paper on the table. She and JoJo pick up crayons. They scratch their heads and then start drawing. The drawing shows a couch cushion balanced on four chairs, then covered with blankets and rugs. Rugs are rolled up to make an opening and windows.
JoJo says, FINISHED.
Gran Gran gives a thumbs up.
Gran Gran and JoJo sit inside the new den.
Gran Gran says, NOW WE'VE GOT A DEN BIG ENOUGH FOR ALL OF US.
JoJo says, AND IT'S GOT A DOOR-- AND WINDOWS!
(JoJo giggling)
(JoJo sighing)
JoJo says, THIS IS THE BEST DEN EVER.
JoJo and Gran Gran go outside. Next door, Cynthia looks at a small greenhouse.
JoJo says, CYNTHIA! WE FINISHED BUILDING OUR DEN!
Cynthia says, OH, WELL DONE, JOJO! I FINISHED BUILDING MY GREENHOUSE TOO.
JoJo stares and says, IT LOOKS AMAZING!
Cynthia says, ONCE THE PLAN WAS THE RIGHT WAY ROUND, IT WAS EASY TO FOLLOW.
JoJo holds up the drawing and says, WE FOLLOWED A PLAN TOO!
JoJo says, OOH! AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR DEN'S GOT A FRONT DOOR, AND WINDOWS!
JoJo asks Cynthia, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IT?
Cynthia replies, I'D LOVE TO.
Cynthia is in the living room with Gran Gran and JoJo.
JoJo runs to the den and says, TA-DA!
(Cynthia gasping)
Cynthia says, WOW! LOOK AT THAT. IT'S THE BEST DEN I'VE EVER SEEN.
JoJo says, ME AND GRAN GRAN BUILT IT ALL BY OURSELVES.
Gran Gran says, AND PANDA SUPERVISED.
JoJo says, YES, AND PANDA SOUP-VISED.
(JoJo giggling)
Cynthia holds a plant. She says, WELL, I THINK IT'S BRILLIANT! BUT YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I THINK THIS DEN NEEDS?
JoJo says, WHAT, CYNTHIA?
Cynthia says, A GARDEN!
Gran Gran says, OOH, THANKS, CYNTHIA.
JoJo says, I LOVE IT! THANK YOU, CYNTHIA.
The plant is at the opening of the den.

The girl says, TODAY WE'RE GOING TO BUILD A DEN. OUR FRIEND PAUL IS HELPING US.
Paul says, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WE NEED TO BUILD A DEN?
The boy says, UM, STICKS AND ROCKS AND MAYBE LEAVES?
Paul says, ANYTHING?
The girl says, AND WE COULD HAVE SOME FLOWERS TO DECORATE IT.
Paul says, AH, FANTASTIC! SHALL WE GO AND DO THAT THEN?
The girl says, YEAH.
Paul says, LET'S GO THEN.
The girl says, WE NEED TO COLLECT LOTS OF DIFFERENT SIZED STICKS.
Paul says, SO, ONE ON EACH END. SO, READY, STEADY, LIFT.
The children lift a log.
Paul says, RIGHT, SO LUKE, GET YOURSELF IN POSITION.
Paul says, OFF WE GO. BRILLIANT, WELL DONE.
The children throw the log down.
Luke says, THERE'S ONE.
The girl picks up sticks.
Paul moves a large stick and says, RIGHT, WE'LL DROP THAT ONE ON THERE.
The girl says, CAN I HAVE A LITTLE HELP WITH THIS BIG LOG?
Luke says, OKAY.
Luke lifts one end of the log.
(Luke straining)
Paul says, RIGHT, GREAT. WE'VE FOUND ALL OUR STICKS, BUT WHAT SHOULD WE HAVE DONE FIRST?
The girl says, WE NEED TO FIND A TREE?
Paul says, LET'S GO AND FIND OUR PERFECT TREE TO BUILD OUR DEN.
Paul says, SO WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE, GUYS?
The children say, NO.
Paul says, WHY NOT?
Luke says, TOO SKINNY!
Paul says, IT'S TOO SKINNY?
Luke says, WHAT ABOUT THAT ONE?
Luke points at a large tree.
Luke says, WE CAN LEAN THE ROOF ON HERE LIKE THIS.
Paul says, AMAZING! THAT'S REALLY GOOD THINKING.
The girl says, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE BUILD THE DEN IN THE RIGHT ORDER.
Paul says, KEEP GOING, BRILLIANT. SO, THERE'S OUR FIRST ONE IN. RIGHT. LET'S GO AND FIND SOME MORE STICKS NOW.
More sticks are put against the tree. The children pull a large stick from a pile and carry it together.
The girl says, I'VE GOT A GREAT IDEA OF HOW TO MAKE A ROOF.
The children sit under a triangular structure of branches.
Paul says, AMAZING DEN, REALLY WELL DONE. I'VE JUST GOT ONE MORE THING TO GO AND GET SO JUST WAIT THERE.
A marshmallow is roasted on a stick, over a campfire.
The girl says, THOSE MARSHMALLOWS LOOK DELICIOUS.
Paul carries two marshmallows on sticks.
Paul says, RIGHT. WHAT I'M GONNA DO, I'M GONNA PASS YOU THESE, AND I WANT YOU TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE NICE AND COOL BEFORE YOU EAT THEM.
Luke says, WE LOVE DEN BUILDING!
Gran Gran and JoJo sit in their den in Gran Gran’s living room.
JoJo says, I LOVED BUILDING OUR DEN, GRAN GRAN. MAYBE NEXT TIME WE CAN BUILD AN UPSTAIRS.
Gran Gran says, OOH! GOOD IDEA, JOJO. AND PANDA CAN SUPERVISE.

A man walks in a forest with a boy and girl.
The girl says, TODAY WE'RE GOING TO BUILD A DEN. OUR FRIEND PAUL IS HELPING US.
Paul says, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WE NEED TO BUILD A DEN?
The boy says, UM, STICKS AND ROCKS AND MAYBE LEAVES?
Paul says, ANYTHING?
The girl says, AND WE COULD HAVE SOME FLOWERS TO DECORATE IT.
Paul says, AH, FANTASTIC! SHALL WE GO AND DO THAT THEN?
The girl says, YEAH.
Paul says, LET'S GO THEN.
The girl says, WE NEED TO COLLECT LOTS OF DIFFERENT SIZED STICKS.
Paul says, SO, ONE ON EACH END. SO, READY, STEADY, LIFT.
The children lift a log.
Paul says, RIGHT, SO LUKE, GET YOURSELF IN POSITION.
Paul says, OFF WE GO. BRILLIANT, WELL DONE.
The children throw the log down.
Luke says, THERE'S ONE.
The girl picks up sticks.
Paul moves a large stick and says, RIGHT, WE'LL DROP THAT ONE ON THERE.
The girl says, CAN I HAVE A LITTLE HELP WITH THIS BIG LOG?
Luke says, OKAY.
Luke lifts one end of the log.
(Luke straining)
Paul says, RIGHT, GREAT. WE'VE FOUND ALL OUR STICKS, BUT WHAT SHOULD WE HAVE DONE FIRST?
The girl says, WE NEED TO FIND A TREE?
Paul says, LET'S GO AND FIND OUR PERFECT TREE TO BUILD OUR DEN.
Paul says, SO WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE, GUYS?
The children say, NO.
Paul says, WHY NOT?
Luke says, TOO SKINNY!
Paul says, IT'S TOO SKINNY?
Luke says, WHAT ABOUT THAT ONE?
Luke points at a large tree.
Luke says, WE CAN LEAN THE ROOF ON HERE LIKE THIS.
Paul says, AMAZING! THAT'S REALLY GOOD THINKING.
The girl says, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE BUILD THE DEN IN THE RIGHT ORDER.
Paul says, KEEP GOING, BRILLIANT. SO, THERE'S OUR FIRST ONE IN. RIGHT. LET'S GO AND FIND SOME MORE STICKS NOW.
More sticks are put against the tree. The children pull a large stick from a pile and carry it together.
The girl says, I'VE GOT A GREAT IDEA OF HOW TO MAKE A ROOF.
The children sit under a triangular structure of branches.
Paul says, AMAZING DEN, REALLY WELL DONE. I'VE JUST GOT ONE MORE THING TO GO AND GET SO JUST WAIT THERE.
A marshmallow is roasted on a stick, over a campfire.
The girl says, THOSE MARSHMALLOWS LOOK DELICIOUS.
Paul carries two marshmallows on sticks.
Paul says, RIGHT. WHAT I'M GONNA DO, I'M GONNA PASS YOU THESE, AND I WANT YOU TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE NICE AND COOL BEFORE YOU EAT THEM.
Luke says, WE LOVE DEN BUILDING!
Gran Gran and JoJo sit in their den in Gran Gran’s living room.
JoJo says, I LOVED BUILDING OUR DEN, GRAN GRAN. MAYBE NEXT TIME WE CAN BUILD AN UPSTAIRS.
Gran Gran says, OOH! GOOD IDEA, JOJO. AND PANDA CAN SUPERVISE.
JoJo says, YES. PANDA CAN SOUP-VISE.
(Gran Gran giggling)
JoJo leans against Gran Gran and says, I LOVE YOU, GRAN GRAN.
Gran Gran says, AW! I LOVE YOU TOO, JOJO.
(Theme music plays)
As the end credits roll, JoJo and Gran Gran walk through town and play in the park as the seasons change.
