A red fox peeks out from behind a large tree and looks around. It has orange fur with white markings. Its ears stand up straight and its wide eyes are a dark brown.
Martin and Chris walk past a shed while a fox hurries across a green field.
Martin says,
RED FOXES WILL MAKE
THEIR HOMES DEEP IN FORESTS
OR IN SECLUDED MEADOWS.
Chris adds,
BUT THEY'LL ALSO SOMETIMES LIVE
VERY CLOSE TO PEOPLE AND THAT
CAN BE A VERY SPECIAL
OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THEM.
A mother fox licks the ear of one of its kits while two more kits climb rocks to get to her.
Thin logs are piled high near a tree line.
Martin says,
THIS OLD PILE OF LOGS
IS A FOX DEN SITE.
UNDERNEATH IS A BURROW WITH
LOTS OF ENTRANCES AND EXITS.
Chris says,
WE'VE BEEN STAKING OUT
THIS DEN FOR MONTHS,
AND HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH
TO HAVE A FRONT ROW SEAT
TO THE LIFE OF A FOX FAMILY.
Fox kits slowly crawl out of an opening in the log pile.
Martin says,
WHEN THEY FIRST COME OUT
OF THE DEN, THE RED FOX KITS
ARE ACTUALLY GREY IN COLOR
AND THEIR EYES ARE BLUE, BUT
AS THEY GET OLDER THAT RED
COAT STARTS COMING IN AND
THEIR EYES CHANGE COLOR TOO.
OUTSIDE THE DEN AND
ALL AROUND THIS AREA, THE KITS
HAVE THESE PLAY SESSIONS
THAT GO ON AND ON, SEEMINGLY
ENDLESS PLAY SESSIONS.
A kit pounces onto the back of another kit. They wrestle.
Martin adds,
THEY STALK EACH OTHER,
POUNCE, WRESTLE, CHASE.
ALL THIS PLAY HELPS THEM
LEARN SKILLS FOR SURVIVAL.
THEY'RE SHARPENING
THEIR HUNTING SKILLS
AND DEVELOPING RED FOX POWER.
Chris says,

In a forest, a brown squirrel crawls out of a knot in a tree. It eats an acorn on a branch.

Tiny Martin crawls out of the tree.
He says,
WOW! YOU STILL HAVE
A BUNCH OF ACORNS LEFT
OVER FROM THE WINTER.
LOOK AT ALL THESE!
Martin holds three acorns in his arms.
Meanwhile, tiny Chris and another squirrel stand on the forest floor.
He says,
WOW!
HEY MARTIN, HOW ABOUT
SHARING SOME OF THOSE?
Martin turns to the squirrel on the branch.
He asks,
OK WITH YOU?
SURE! COMIN' AT YA CHRIS!
Martin tosses down an acorn. Chris dives and catches it.
He says, GOT IT!
Martin replies,
NICE!
BUT CAN YOU DO THREE IN A
ROW?
He kicks three more acorns down to Chris.
Chris catches the acorns.
He counts,
ONE!
TWO!
The third acorn bounces off Chris’ head. It lands on his stomach.
He says,

SEE THAT, BUDDY?
IT NEVER HIT THE GROUND.
GOT 'EM ALL!
The squirrel on the ground takes one of the acorns and climbs up another tree.
Martin says,
YEAH, NICE CATCHES, BRO!
Chris shouts,

A bush rustles. A red fox crawls out of it.
(Tense music)
The red fox pounces on Chris. It rests its front paws on Chris’ chest.
Chris shouts, AHHHH!
Martin says,
WHOA, THAT FOX
CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!
DID YOU SEE THOSE JUMPS?
Chris replies,
UGH! YEAH,
I SAW THEM...BARELY.
HI.
The fox sniffs Chris.
Martin says,
IT WAS A CLASSIC
RED FOX BOUNDING ATTACK.
He plays a hologram of the fox pouncing on Chris.
Martin adds,
QUICK STALK,
THEN AN INITIAL PRE-LEAP
TO GET SOME SPRING GOING,
WITH A FINAL TWO METER
BOUNDING LEAP ONTO ITS PREY.
AMAZING!
(Chuckles)
Martin says,

Red Flash, the fox, picks up Chris with its teeth.
Chris says,

I CAN'T DEACTIVATE

Red Flash carries Chris through the forest.
Martin says,

LOTS OF DIFFERENT FOOD.

In Tortuga, the mechanical turtle, Aviva and Koki turn to a large screen. Koki wears a burgundy T-shirt with a star on it. Her dark curly hair is held back by her yellow headband. Aviva wears a yellow track jacket with a blue stripe. Her dark hair is tied into a ponytail.
Martin’s location in the forest appears on the screen.
Koki presses a button.
She asks,
WHAT'S HAPPENING MARTIN?
A video shows a close-up of the squirrel on the branch sniffing.
Koki and Aviva shout, AHHHHH!!
They hug.
Martin moves aside the squirrel.
He says,
SORRY BUDDY,
I GOTTA TAKE THIS CALL.
KOKI, AVIVA,
CHRIS IS IN TROUBLE.
HE WAS JUST CARRIED
OFF BY A RED FOX.
Koki asks, WHO?!
Martin answers,

INTRODUCING THE SMELL
TRACKER ONE THOUSAND.
Aviva’s invention, the Smell Tracker One Thousand, floats across the room. Aviva picks up a tablet with steering controls. The smell tracker has a green light and a short antenna.
Martin says,
SOUNDS COOL.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Aviva answers, IT CAN 'SEE' SMELLS!
Martin replies, HUH? SEE SMELLS?
Aviva says,
YEAH CHECK IT OUT!
CAN YOU SMELL THIS SOCK?
She picks up a dirty brown sock off a table.
Koki replies, EWW, WHO CAN'T?
Aviva lays the sock back on the table.
Aviva says,
NOW, IF I TURN ON
THE SMELL TRACKER ONE
THOUSAND...
YOU CAN SEE THE SOCK…
The smell tracker scans the sock.
Aviva adds,
BUT YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE SMELL
RISING FROM THE SOCK.
THOSE ARE TINY
MOLECULES OF SMELL
RISING INTO THE AIR.
THEY FLOAT AROUND IN THE AIR
AND WHEN THEY GO
UP SOMEONE'S NOSE…
Jimmy Z naps in a nearby chair. He wears a grey T-shirt with white shoes and a green backward baseball hat. His orange hair is parted and falls to his shoulders.
(Sniffing)
Jimmy Z wakes up and leaps out of his chair.
He says, YUCK!
Aviva laughs.
She says,
THE NOSE SENSES THEM AS A SMELL.
Jimmy Z replies,
TIME TO GET
THAT SMELL OUTTA HERE!
(Country cowboy music)
Jimmy Z pulls out a rope and lassos the sock. He drags the sock out of Tortuga. Aviva examines Jimmy Z’s trail with the tablet.
She says,
LOOK EVEN AFTER THE
SMELLY THING IS GONE,
THERE ARE STILL SOME
SMELL MOLECULES AROUND.
THAT'S KEY!
Koki sniffs the air.
She replies,
YEAH BUT SO FEW, I CAN'T
REALLY SMELL IT ANYMORE.
(Sniff, sniff)
A white basset hound with brown and black markings sniffs the floor while it wanders around Tortuga.
Aviva says, BUT HE CAN!
(Giggles)
Koki adds,
IT'S A DOG!
HI BUDDY!
Aviva asks,
WHERE'D YOU COME FROM?
Koki and Aviva pet the dog.
Martin says,
HE'S A BASSET HOUND.
BASSET HOUNDS ARE ONE
OF THE BEST SMELLER'S
IN THE CREATURE WORLD.
A BASSET HOUND CAN SMELL
TEN THOUSAND TIMES BETTER
THAN A HUMAN CAN.
Koki says,
HMM, AND HE'S
ON THE SCENT TRAIL.
The dog continues to sniff the floor.
Martin says,
WE'VE GOTTA
GO AFTER CHRIS
AND THE SMELL TRACK ONE
THOUSAND CAN HELP.
HEY, CAN YOU MEET ME
OUT HERE WITH IT?
The video chat with Martin ends.
The dog rushes past Aviva and Koki carrying the sock. Jimmy Z is dragged behind by the rope.
He says,

SLOW DOOOOWNNNN!

Jimmy Z crashes into a planter while the dog returns the sock to Aviva.
Aviva says, THANKS, SWEETIE.
(Panting)
Koki waves to the dog.
She says,
GOODBYE, HAPPY SMELLING.
The dog walks down a hall. Jimmy Z gets up and rubs his head.
Aviva says,
THE SMELL TRACKER ONE THOUSAND
IS KINDA LIKE A BASSET HOUND.
SINCE IT HAS A SUPER ABILITY
TO SENSE ODOR TRACKS.
SO, I'LL JUST SET IT TO FOX...
AND YOU CAN USE IT TO FOLLOW
THE FOX THAT HAS CHRIS.
Koki smiles while she looks at the smell tracker monitor.
She says,
YES! THIS IS
GOING TO BE AWESOME!
LET'S GO JIMMY!
Jimmy replies,

Jimmy follows Koki down the hall.
Aviva says, GOOD LUCK!
Meanwhile, Gourmand the chef gets out of his jeep and walks into his outdoor kitchen. He wears a white and black chef coat and baker’s hat. He has a small mustache and a large pink nose.
Gourmand says,
HMMMMM-MMMM.
AN ENDANGERED SPECIES
CHEF LIKE ME
ALWAYS USES THE
FINEST INGREDIENTS.
I JUST NEED A DELICIOUS VARMINT
TO COOK UP REAL NICE.
Red Flash walks behind Gourmand with Chris hanging from its mouth.
Chris says,
UH-OH, GOURMAND.
WAIT, WE BETTER GET OUT OF HERE.
OH NO! NO, NO, NO!
YOU WANT THOSE EGGS, DON'T YOU?
BE CAREFUL!
Red Flash slowly walks toward Gourmand’s bowl of ingredients.
Gourmand looks around.
He says,

IF I COULD JUST FIND A VARMINT
SOMEWHERE IN THESE WOODS.
AW...
Red Flash steals one of Gourmand’s eggs and walks back to Chris.
Chris says,
HA!
GOURMAND IS OUTFOXED...
BY A FOX!
QUICK, LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!
Chris rides on Red Flash’s back as it runs back into the forest.
Gourmand sniffs the air and then looks at his ingredients.
He says,
HEYYY!
AN EGG IS GONE!
(Inhales)
Gourmand adds,
AND I SMELL A THIEF!
HMMM...
I'LL NEED MY ASSISTANT.
(Loud whistle)
The dog peaks out from behind a tree.
Gourmand asks,
DO YOU SMELL SOMETHING, NOSTRIL?
(Gasps)
Nostril sniffs the ground.
Gourmand says,
YOU'RE ONTO THAT
THIEF AREN'T YA?
(Sniffing)
(Grunting)
Gourmand crawls behind Nostril and sniffs the ground. They find Chris and Red Flash.
Gourmand shouts,
HUH? STOP THIEF!
GET AFTER IT, NOSTRIL!
Nostril runs toward Red Flash.
Chris says,
UH-OH. THEY'RE AFTER US!
KICK IT INTO GEAR!
Red Flash runs away from the dog with the egg in its mouth and Chris on its back.
Meanwhile, Martin and Jimmy follow Koki through the forest while she uses the smell tracker.
Martin says,
OKAY, THIS
MUST BE HER TRAIL.
WE JUST CAN'T LOSE IT.
Koki replies,
YUP, THOSE
ORANGE SMELL MOLECULES
ARE THE FOX'S SCENT TRAIL.
WE'RE ON IT AND I CAN'T WAIT
TO MEET MY FIRST RED FOX!
Martin, Koki, and Martin reach a small pond. Jimmy Z grunts while he leaps from rock to rock across it.
Martin says,
PREDATORS AND DOGS LIKE
HOUNDS ALSO PICK UP OTHER
SMELLS WHEN FOLLOWING A TRAIL.
LIKE THE SMELL OF FRESHLY
DISTURBED SOIL FROM FOOTSTEPS.
OR THE SMELL OF BROKEN
PLANTS LEFT BEHIND.
Koki looks at a sent trail next to a broken white flower on the tablet.
She replies,
YEAH, I CAN SEE THE
SCENT FROM THE BROKEN PLANT.
UH-OH! WHAT NOW?
Martin looks at the screen on his wrist.
He says,
HEY, IT'S
SOME WILD KRATTS KIDS.
GO FOR MARTIN!
Nolan, a blonde-haired boy wearing a grey jersey, and Eden, a dark-haired girl wearing a red and yellow jacket, appear on the screen.
Nolan says,
HEY, WILD KRATTS!
NOLAN AND EDEN HERE.
WE HAVE A CREATURE MYSTERY.
Eden adds,
YEAH, THERE'S SOME STRANGE
SOUNDS COMING FROM THE SHED.
Martin asks,
REALLY?
MAYBE IT'S THE FOX.
Koki looks at the tablet.
She says,
THE GPS READING
SHOWS THEY'RE NEARBY.
Martin says,
OKAY, THANKS
FOR THE CREATURE ALERT,
I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!
STAY ON THE FOX TRAIL GUYS!
Martin runs back to the shed.
Jimmy shouts,
NO PROBLEM!
WHOA!!!
He falls into the pond.
(Splash!)
Koki says,
WELL, MAYBE
NOT NO PROBLEM...
Gourmand and Nostril continue the sniff the ground while they search the forest. Further down a trail, Chris holds the egg as he rides on Red Flash’s back.
He says,
THANKS FOR
LETTING ME RIDE
INSTEAD OF BEING CARRIED!
THIS WAY I CAN BE ON THE
LOOKOUT MORE EASILY TOO.
UH-OH. THEY'RE GAINING ON US.
YOU'D BETTER START
USING SOME OF THOSE
AWESOME TRICKS YOU FOXES HAVE.
I KNOW YOUR CREATURE POWER
IS TO BE SMART AND CUNNING.
IT'S TIME TO USE THAT TO GET
GOURMAND OFF OUR TRAIL.
(Gasps)
Red Flash turns around and follows its trail backward.
Chris says,
HUH?!
TURNING AROUND?! NO!
WHAT?! WHY ARE YOU HEADING
STRAIGHT TOWARDS THEM?
NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND!
HMMM, YOU'RE FOLLOWING
YOUR EXACT TRAIL BACKWARDS...
Red Flash jumps onto a boulder.
Chris says,
WHOAA! NICE LEAP.
OH, I GET IT.
THIS IS YOUR TRICK!
IT'S CALLED DOUBLING BACK.
Gourmand and Nostril sniff the ground while they walk past Chris and Red Flash.
Gourmand says,
THAT'S IT. STAY
ON THE SCENT TRAIL, NOSTRIL!
(Sniffing)
Gourmand follows Nostril past the boulder.
Chris says,
IT'S WORKING!
HE'S FOLLOWING THE FAKE
SCENT TRAIL YOU MADE.
Gourmand looks down at Red Flash’s trail.
He says,
HUH?! THE TRAIL JUST ENDS!?
Chris whispers,
THAT'S WHERE YOU TURNED
AROUND AND DOUBLED BACK!
ONLY THEY DON'T KNOW IT.
FOR THEM, THE TRAIL JUST STOPS.
Gourmand sniffs the air.
He says,
I DON'T SMELL
THAT THIEF ANYMORE.
WHERE'D THAT VARMINT GO?
Nostril sniffs the ground. It points up to the boulder.
Gourmand says,
OH, COME ON NOSTRIL, THEY'VE
MUST HAVE GONE THIS WAY.
BACK ON THE TRAIL!
Nostril follows Gourmand down the trail.
Chris says,
PRETTY SMOOTH RED FLASH,
HE'S OUTFOXED AGAIN!
Red Flash leaps off the boulder and continues through the forest.
Meanwhile, Koki and Jimmy approach a stream. A fallen log lies over the water.
Koki looks at the tablet.
She says,
IT LOOKS LIKE THE FOX
CROSSED THE STREAM ON THIS LOG.
HOLD IT!
Koki stands in the middle of the log over the stream. Jimmy loses his balance. He falls and grips the log tightly while he hangs over the stream.
Jimmy says,
AHHHH!
UGH! WHY'D YOU STOP?
Koki answers,
THE TRAIL! IT JUST ENDS!
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LOG!
Jimmy replies,
WELL, THE FOX
ISN'T UNDER THE LOG.
He crawls across the log upside down.
Aviva appears on the tablet.
She asks,
HOW'S IT GOING TRACKERS?
Koki replies,
WE LOST THE SCENT TRAIL.
Jimmy says,
WELL, THERE'S
ALWAYS A NEXT TIME.
Koki shakes her head.
She replies,
NO! I HAVE
TO MEET THE FOX.
WE'RE NOT GIVING UP!
Aviva says,
THE FOX COULDN'T HAVE
DISAPPEARED INTO THIN AIR.
Jimmy says,
JUST KEEP
GOING TO THE OTHER BANK.
SHE WAS HEADING THAT WAY SO
I'M SURE WE'LL PICK IT UP HERE.
Koki glances down at the tablet.
She says,
UNLESS...THE FOX
IS TRICKIER THAN THAT.
THE SMELL TRACKER IS
SHOWING THE SCENT IS HERE!
SO, THE FOX MUST HAVE...
COME UP TO THE LOG,
STARTED ACROSS IT.
ANY ANIMAL FOLLOWING
HER TRAIL WOULD ASSUME
SHE WOULD GO ALL THE WAY ACROSS.
SO, SHE DOESN'T.
SHE JUMPS OFF ONTO THIS ISLAND.
THEN...
(Whirring scanning sound)
The smell tracker scans the other side of the stream.
Koki says, NO TRAIL HERE.
(Whirring scanning sound)
The smell scanner returns to the other side of the stream and scans it. A new trail appears.
Koki says,
EUREKA! HERE'S HER TRAIL!
Aviva replies, WOW!
Koki adds,
IT'S HERE!
SO...
SHE JUMPED FROM THE ISLAND
BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BANK.
Aviva says,
GENIUS!
WHO WOULD HAVE
ASSUMED SHE'D DO THAT?
Jimmy replies, NOT ME.
Koki adds,
AND THE TRAIL GOES OFF
THAT WAY ALONG THE BANK.
SHE COULD'VE JUST
KEPT GOING STRAIGHT,
BUT SHE DID THAT WHOLE LOG THING
TO THROW EVERYONE OFF HER TRAIL.
Aviva says,
WOW, FOXES ARE

Koki replies,

Koki and Jimmy run along the water’s edge.
(Odd cries)
Meanwhile, Martin meets Nolan and Eden in front of the barn.

A kit squeezes out of the shed through a hole in the ground.
Martin answers,

Nolan opens the shed door.
(Distress sound)
Two more kits walk out of the shed.
Martin says,
YUP THERE ARE FOX KITS
IN THE SHED.
The three kits run to the forest.
Eden says,
AWWW, FOX KITS
ARE THE CUTEST!
(Playful sound)
One kit pounces on another kit.
Martin replies,
YEAH, THEY'RE ONLY
ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE WEEKS OLD.
One of the kits chases a butterfly.
Nolan says,
HAHA, THAT ONE'S
REALLY POUNCY.
Martin replies,
POUNCY! THAT'S GREAT!
WE'LL CALL HER POUNCY!
Another kit lowers its head as it slowly approaches Pouncy.
Eden says,
OH, HE'S SNEAKING UP
ON HER...
The kit jumps on Pouncy’s back and pins her on her back.
Martin says,
OOOO! SNEAKER!
WE'LL CALL HIM SNEAKER!
The third kit lies on a fallen tree trunk and yawns.
Nolan asks,
TOO INTENSE FOR YOU,
LITTLE GUY?
Martin says,
OKAY, SO WE'LL
CALL HIM SHY GUY.
YOU KNOW, THIS PLAY IS
IMPORTANT PRACTICE FOR HUNTING.
AS THE KITS GROW UP THEY HAVE TO
GET REALLY GOOD AT STALKING
AND POUNCING TO
CATCH THEIR FOOD.
SO, THEY START PRACTICING
RIGHT NOW
WITH PLAYFUL GAMES
RIGHT FROM THE START.
Sneaker leaps toward the butterfly and falls onto the ground. The butterfly flies away from him. The three kits run past Nolan, Eden, and Martin.
Nolan asks,
WHERE'RE THEY GOING?
The kits climb onto a pile of fallen logs.
Martin replies,
OH, LOOKS LIKE THERE'S
ANOTHER DEN RIGHT THERE.
FOXES USUALLY HAVE
MULTIPLE DENS TO USE,
THAT ARE NOT FAR AWAY
FROM EACH OTHER.
Nolan and Eden run to the fox den.
Nolan says,
AWESOME!
I'M SO GLAD THEY DECIDED
TO MAKE A DEN BY MY HOUSE.
I LOVE FOXES!
(Sniffing)
Meanwhile, Gourmand and Nostril continue to search for Red Flash.
Gourmand says,
I DON'T LIKE FOXES!
C'MON NOSTRIL,
LET'S GET THAT VARMINT!
Further down the trail, Chris rides on Red Flash’s back.
Chris says,
OKAY, RED FLASH.
I KNOW YOU HAVE A FEW MORE
TRICKS UP YOUR SLEEVE.
KICK IT!
Red Flash runs to a river’s edge and looks around.
(Gentle splashing)
Red Flash crosses the river.
Chris says,
OH-HO, I GET THIS TRICK.
NO SCENT TRAIL IS LEFT BEHIND
WHEN YOU'RE SWIMMING IN WATER.
Red Flash reaches the other side. Chris watches Gourmand and Nostril sniff the ground on the other bank.
(Sniffing)
Gourmand says, C'MON!
Nostril jumps on Gourmand’s back. Gourmand crawls into the river. He sniffs the river bed while a fish swims by.
(Sniffing)
Gourmand and Nostril reach the other side.
Gourmand sneezes, AAAA-CHOOOO!
Water pours out of his nose. Nostril walks in circles.
Chris and Red Flash watch Gourmand and Nostril from behind a rock.
Chris says,
YEAH...
LOST THE SCENT, HA!
Red Flash walks across a green field and leaps onto a wooden fence.
Chris says,
YEEEE-HAA!
NICE LEAP!
ONE OF THE BEST LEAPERS
IN THE WHOLE DOG FAMILY!
WHY ARE WE UP HERE?
Red Flash crawls across the top of the fence.
(Gasps)
Chris asks,
ARE YOU USING THE FENCE
TO GET YOUR SCENT
OFF THE GROUND?
I LIKE IT!
Red Flash jumps down from the fence and hides behind a bush as Gourmand and Nostril cross the field.
Gourmand says,
GOOD BOY, NOSTRIL!
YOU'VE REDISCOVERED THE SCENT.
(Smash!)
Gourmand keeps his head down while he smells the ground. He crashes into the fence and his head gets stuck between two poles.
Gourmand says,
OWWWW!
AUGH! WHO PUT THAT FENCE THERE?
Nostril bites on Gourmand’s belt and yanks him free from the fence.
Gourmand shouts, YEOW!
(Thud!)
Nostril sniffs the ground.
Gourmand stands up and rubs his head.
He says,
OW!
FIND THAT TRAIL!
DON'T LOSE IT AGAIN!
Nostril runs under the fence while Gourmand leaps over it. Red Flash and Chris watch them.
Chris says,
VERY CLEVER RED FLASH!
I'M IMPRESSED!
At the fox den, Sneaker leaps on Pouncy.
Nolan asks,
WHERE ARE
THEIR MOM AND DAD?
Martin answers,
THE PARENTS LEAVE
THE KITS AT THE DEN
WHILE THEY GO OUT HUNTING.
SO, I'M HOPING IT'S THEIR MOM
THAT CAUGHT CHRIS
WHEN HE WAS IN A
SQUIRREL POWER SUIT,
SO SHE'LL END UP
BRINGING HIM BACK HERE!
Shy Guy jumps onto Martin’s lap and curls up.
Nolan replies,
I SURE HOPE SO!
AND THE DAD FOX?
Shy Guy jumps back down.
Martin adds,
THE DAD MUST
BE SOMEWHERE TOO.
THEY BOTH HELP TAKE
CARE OF THE KITS.
(Belly rumble)
Eden walks over to Pouncy.
She says,
A BELLY RUMBLE, THE
KITS ARE GETTING HUNGRY!
Martin replies,
HMM, SEEMS LIKE IT.
THE MOM AND DAD USUALLY
LEAVE SOME FOOD,
HIDDEN AROUND THE DEN,
BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THERE'S
NOT MUCH LEFT RIGHT NOW.
Nolan says, UH-OH FOR CHRIS!
Martin replies,
YEAH, WE'D BETTER
BE READY TO SNATCH HIM
BEFORE THESE HUNGRY KITS DO.
(Twigs snapping)
Martin whispers,
SOMEONE'S COMING!
The kits run into their den while Martin, Nolan, and Eden hide behind the shed.
Gourmand sniffs the ground.
He asks,
HOW COULD YOU LOSE
THE SCENT OF THAT FOX?
Martin says, GOURMAND?!
(Sniffing)
Nostril smells around the fox den.
Gourmand asks,
YOU SMELL SOMETHING?
OH! A DEN! A FOX DEN!
WELL, THAT MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN
A POSSUM EATIN' A SWEET TATER...
YAH-HOOOOOO!!
Gourmand jumps up and down.
Martin whispers, OH NO!
Gourmand says,
I'M GOING
TO GET YOU NOW FOXES!
(Motor humming)
Gourmand starts a giant gas-powered whisk.
He adds, HA-HAAA!
(Motor rumble)
Gourmand digs a hole in the ground with the whisk.
Martin holds his wrist screen to his face.
He says,
FOX DEN TO TORTUGA.
COME IN TORTUGA. WE NEED HELP!
Aviva works on a metal fox mask in Tortuga as Martin’s face appears on the screen.
She replies,
TORTUGA HERE. GO MARTIN.
Martin says,
I NEED A
FOX POWER DISC. FAST!!
Aviva replies,
YOU'RE IN LUCK.
I'M JUST PUTTING IN
THE SMELL SENSORS.
SEE, THAT'S WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE.
WHEN ODOR MOLECULES ENTER THE
NOSE, THE SENSORS ARE ACTIVATED.
BEING MEMBERS OF THE DOG
FAMILY AND PREDATORS,
FOXES HAVE A GREAT
SENSE OF SMELL TOO.
THEY FIND LOTS OF PREY
WITH THEIR SENSE OF SMELL.
Martin adds,
WELL, IF I DON'T GET
THAT FOX POWER DISC SOON,
WE'LL BE PREY!
Gourmand laughs while he digs deeper and deeper around the fox den.
Aviva says,
DONE...AAAND PRINT!
ON THE WAY, MARTIN!
She creates a fox power disc. Aviva tosses it into a teleporter and picks up a joystick.
She adds,
AND AS JIMMY ALWAYS SAYS,
ENERGIZE AND ZAP IT!
(Zap!)
The power disc is teleported to Martin. He catches it as it falls.
(Zap!)
Martin says,
GOT IT!
INSERT RED FOX POWER DISC.
(Whirring)
Martin crawls into the fox den while Gourmand digs. He taps one of the kits on the chest.
Martin says,
TOUCH RED FOX.
ACTIVATE RED FOX POWER!
His suit transforms into a fox suit.
Eden says, WOW!
Nolan adds, FOX POWER!
Martin replies,
OH YEAH, I FEEL SO
FLEET-FOOTED AND QUICK!
UUUH, AND CLEVER TOO.
Nolan says, JUST LIKE A FOX!
Martin adds,
YEAH, HEY YOU
GUYS HIDE FROM GOURMAND,
WHILE I GET THESE
KITS TO A SAFE PLACE.
C'MON, LITTLE GUYS.
WE GOTTA GET OUTTA
HERE FOR A WHILE.
YOU'LL BE SAFE WITH ME!
LET'S GO!
The kits run out of the den. They follow Martin into the forest.
Gourmand looks angry while he continues to dig.
He shouts,
I KNOW YOU'RE
DOWN THERE, YOU VARMINT!
Meanwhile, Aviva runs out of Tortuga. She looks at her tablet.
Aviva says,
KOKI! JIMMY!
WE'VE GOTTA MEET UP!
WE NEED TO PUT
OUR HEADS TOGETHER
AND HELP MARTIN
SAVE THOSE FOX KITS.
Koki works on the tablet screen.
She replies,
YOU GOT IT!
WE'VE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT FOX
TRICKS FOLLOWING THE SCENT.
Aviva says,
GOOD. WE'LL NEED
TO THINK LIKE A FOX.
Gourmand looks exhausted. Nostril shakes dirt out of its fur.
(Sniffing)
Nostril walks toward the opening of the den.
Gourmand asks,
HUH?! WHERE ARE YA GOING?
OH, ESCAPED OUT THE BACK!
I SHOULD'VE KNOWN.
Nostril runs into the forest. Gourmand chases it.
Gourmand shouts,
I'M BACK ONTO YOU, FOXES!
Red Flash and Chris return to the den.
Chris says,
WE'RE NOT
BEING FOLLOWED ANYMORE,
GOOD JOB LOSING THEM, RED FLASH!
C'MON OUT, KITS.
WE'VE GOT SOME FOOD FOR YA!
(Playful sound)
Red Flash sniffs the air.
Chris Gasps.
He says,
YOUR DEN!
WHAT HAPPENED HERE?
YOUR KITS. THEY'RE GONE!!
Red Flash and Chris look inside the den.
In the forest, Martin and the kits run across a clearing.
Martin says, WAIT!
He inhales deeply.
Martin says,
OH NO, THEY'RE STILL ON US!
ALL OUR FOX SCENT PUT
TOGETHER IS WAY TOO SMELLY.
OKAY, FOX TRICK, FOX TRICK...
I NEED A FOX TRICK!
HEY, MAYBE WE CAN HIDE OUR SCENT
WITH THE SWEET SMELL OF FLOWERS!
COME ON IN!
Martin leaps into a large flower bush. The kits follow him in and roll around on the orange flowers.
(Laughs)
Martin says,
WOO-HOO!!
OK, I THINK WE SMELL
MORE FLOWERY NOW.
Aviva shouts, MARTIN!
Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy walk over to the flower bush.
Martin replies, AVIVA?
Koki says,
THAT'S A GREAT
FOX-LIKE IDEA, MARTIN!
Aviva adds,
AND WE'VE GOT
ONE TO ADD TO IT.
Martin says,
BUT WE DON'T
NEED TO TRACK ANYTHING.
WE NEED TO LOSE GOURMAND!
Aviva points to the smell tracker
She says,
NO, LOOK!
I ADDED A FEATURE.
NOW, IT CAN LAY DOWN FOX SCENT.
A scent floats out of the smell tracker.
Koki adds,
IT CAN TAKE OVER
YOUR FOX SCENT TRAIL
THAT GOURMAND IS FOLLOWING.
IT'LL ACT LIKE A DECOY.
(Hissing!)
Sneaker scurries away from the smell tracker. The smell tracker floats back into the forest.
Koki says,
OFF IT GOES...
LAYING DOWN A TRAIL
OF FOX SCENT.
Martin replies,
OH WOW, A DECOY!
BRILLIANT!
AND NOW THAT WE DON'T SMELL
LIKE FOXES ANYMORE,
WE'LL SLIP OFF IN THIS
DIRECTION! C'MON!
Koki, Aviva, Jimmy, and the kits follow Martin into the flower bush.
(Sniffing)
Nostril and Gourmand sniff the ground as they walk into the clearing.
Gourmand asks,
YOU GOT SOMETHIN', BOY?
(Sniffing)
Nostril sniffs around the flower bush. Martin, Koki, Aviva, Jimmy, and the kits duck behind the branches.
Gourmand asks, WHAT'S WRONG?!
(Sniffs)
Nostril turns around and sniffs in the opposite direction.
(Howls)
Nostril follows the smell tracker’s trail.
Gourmand says,
HA! THEY WENT THAT WAY!
GOURMAND IS TOO
SMART FOR YOU, VARMINTS!
Gourmand follows Nostril into the forest.
Koki says, OR IS HE...
Martin, Koki, Aviva, and Jimmy shout,
OUTFOXED!
Koki kneels beside the kits.
She says,
FINALLY! A RED FOX!
YOU ARE SO CUTE!
I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE
TO MEET ONE OF YOU FOXES.
(Laughing)
The kits jump on Koki.
Aviva asks,
DO YOU THINK
SHE'S HAPPY
SHE FINALLY CAUGHT UP
TO THE RED FOXES?
Martin, Koki, Aviva, and Jimmy laugh.
Meanwhile, Red Flash sniffs around the shed while Chris stands on the den and holds the egg.
Chris says,
DON'T WORRY.
WE'LL FIND YOUR KITS SOMEHOW.
Martin asks,
ARE YOU
LOOKING FOR THESE?
Koki, Aviva, Jimmy, and the kits follow Martin to the den. The kits run to Red Flash.
Koki says,
AWWW!
WHAT A REUNION!
THIS JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER.
Chris asks,
ANYBODY HUNGRY?
WE BROUGHT THIS BACK FOR YA'!

Chris lays the egg in front of the kits.
Koki says,

CATCH UP WITH YOU TRICKY FOXES,
BUT IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT!
Martin chuckles.
He replies,

WHERE GOURMAND IS NOW?
The French flag flies above the Eiffel Tower. Nostril follows the smell tracker as it floats across a park below. Gourmand follows closely behind.
(Exhausted panting)
Nostril and Gourmand follow the smell tracker across the Egyptian desert.
Gourmand says,
I'LL TRACK THESE FOXES
TO THE END OF THE EARTH!
(Exhausted panting)
Nostril and Gourmand follow the smell tracker past a group of penguins in Antarctica.
Gourmand says,
GOURMAND ALWAYS GETS HIS FOX!
At the fox den, Nolan and Eden pet the kits.
Koki says,
I THINK HE'S BEEN
OUT-FOXED!
(Laughing)
A green light flashes. Chris and Martin return to real life.
Chris says,
SO, RED FOXES ARE
INCREDIBLY RESOURCEFUL,
ADAPTABLE AND CLEVER.
Martin adds,
AND BACK HERE AT THE DEN,
THE FOX FAMILY HAS BEEN BUSY.
WITH THE PARENTS TAKING

A fox runs across a field.
Chris says,

Martin walks out from behind a tree.
He adds,

(Suspenseful music)
A kit watches Chris sit on the grass outside the den. It slowly walks toward him.
Chris whispers,
CHECK IT OUT,
HE'S PRACTICING HUNTING,
PROBABLY LOOKING FOR LITTLE
INSECTS IN THE GRASS.
THOSE EARLY HUNTING SKILLS.
THIS IS THE AGE
WHERE THESE FOXES
START EXPLORING THEIR HABITAT.
THEY DO A LOT OF
PLAYING WITH EACH OTHER
TO PRACTICE THEIR HUNTING SKILLS
AND THEY BECOME VERY CURIOUS.
VERY CURIOUS.
OH, THEY ARE SO CUTE!
The kit gets closer to Chris.
Chris asks,
WHERE'S EVERYBODY ELSE?
The fox runs back to the den.
Later, Martin and Chris walk through the forest.
Martin says,
AND NOW THE FOX KITS ARE
BIG ENOUGH TO HAVE LEFT THE DEN.
Chris adds,
WE WERE SO LUCKY
TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO
WATCH THEM GROW-UP!
Martin says,

CREATURE ADVENTURING!

Tiny Martin crawls out of the tree.
He says,
WOW! YOU STILL HAVE
A BUNCH OF ACORNS LEFT
OVER FROM THE WINTER.
LOOK AT ALL THESE!
Martin holds three acorns in his arms.
Meanwhile, tiny Chris and another squirrel stand on the forest floor.
He says,
WOW!
HEY MARTIN, HOW ABOUT
SHARING SOME OF THOSE?
Martin turns to the squirrel on the branch.
He asks,
OK WITH YOU?
SURE! COMIN' AT YA CHRIS!
Martin tosses down an acorn. Chris dives and catches it.
He says, GOT IT!
Martin replies,
NICE!
BUT CAN YOU DO THREE IN A
ROW?
He kicks three more acorns down to Chris.
Chris catches the acorns.
He counts,
ONE!
TWO!
The third acorn bounces off Chris’ head. It lands on his stomach.
He says,
OW!...OH!
THREE!
SEE THAT, BUDDY?
IT NEVER HIT THE GROUND.
GOT 'EM ALL!
The squirrel on the ground takes one of the acorns and climbs up another tree.
Martin says,
YEAH, NICE CATCHES, BRO!
Chris shouts,
TOSS DOWN SOME MORE!
A bush rustles. A red fox crawls out of it.
(Tense music)
The red fox pounces on Chris. It rests its front paws on Chris’ chest.
Chris shouts, AHHHH!
Martin says,
WHOA, THAT FOX
CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!
DID YOU SEE THOSE JUMPS?
Chris replies,
UGH! YEAH,
I SAW THEM...BARELY.
HI.
The fox sniffs Chris.
Martin says,
IT WAS A CLASSIC
RED FOX BOUNDING ATTACK.
He plays a hologram of the fox pouncing on Chris.
Martin adds,
QUICK STALK,
THEN AN INITIAL PRE-LEAP
TO GET SOME SPRING GOING,
WITH A FINAL TWO METER
BOUNDING LEAP ONTO ITS PREY.
AMAZING!
(Chuckles)
Martin says,

Red Flash, the fox, picks up Chris with its teeth.
Chris says,

I CAN'T DEACTIVATE
AND I THINK I'M LUNCH!
Red Flash carries Chris through the forest.
Martin says,

FOXES DO LIKE SQUIRRELS FOR
LUNCH.
OR RABBITS, BIRDS, VOLES, EGGS,
LOTS OF DIFFERENT FOOD.
WAIT, WE GOTTA SAVE CHRIS!

In Tortuga, the mechanical turtle, Aviva and Koki turn to a large screen. Koki wears a burgundy T-shirt with a star on it. Her dark curly hair is held back by her yellow headband. Aviva wears a yellow track jacket with a blue stripe. Her dark hair is tied into a ponytail.
Martin’s location in the forest appears on the screen.
Koki presses a button.
She asks,
WHAT'S HAPPENING MARTIN?
A video shows a close-up of the squirrel on the branch sniffing.
Koki and Aviva shout, AHHHHH!!
They hug.
Martin moves aside the squirrel.
He says,
SORRY BUDDY,
I GOTTA TAKE THIS CALL.
KOKI, AVIVA,
CHRIS IS IN TROUBLE.
HE WAS JUST CARRIED
OFF BY A RED FOX.
Koki asks, WHO?!
Martin answers,
CHRIS!
YOU KNOW, MY BROTHER!
Koki says, NO, THE OTHER WHO.
Martin replies,
OH, YOU MEAN THE RED FOX?
Koki says,

Koki smiles while she spins in front of the screen.
(Giggle)
Aviva says,

Koki replies,

CARRIED AWAY BY A RED FOX!!
Aviva responds,

INTRODUCING THE SMELL
TRACKER ONE THOUSAND.
Aviva’s invention, the Smell Tracker One Thousand, floats across the room. Aviva picks up a tablet with steering controls. The smell tracker has a green light and a short antenna.
Martin says,
SOUNDS COOL.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Aviva answers, IT CAN 'SEE' SMELLS!
Martin replies, HUH? SEE SMELLS?
Aviva says,
YEAH CHECK IT OUT!
CAN YOU SMELL THIS SOCK?
She picks up a dirty brown sock off a table.
Koki replies, EWW, WHO CAN'T?
Aviva lays the sock back on the table.
Aviva says,
NOW, IF I TURN ON
THE SMELL TRACKER ONE
THOUSAND...
YOU CAN SEE THE SOCK…
The smell tracker scans the sock.
Aviva adds,
BUT YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE SMELL
RISING FROM THE SOCK.
THOSE ARE TINY
MOLECULES OF SMELL
RISING INTO THE AIR.
THEY FLOAT AROUND IN THE AIR
AND WHEN THEY GO
UP SOMEONE'S NOSE…
Jimmy Z naps in a nearby chair. He wears a grey T-shirt with white shoes and a green backward baseball hat. His orange hair is parted and falls to his shoulders.
(Sniffing)
Jimmy Z wakes up and leaps out of his chair.
He says, YUCK!
Aviva laughs.
She says,
THE NOSE SENSES THEM AS A SMELL.
Jimmy Z replies,
TIME TO GET
THAT SMELL OUTTA HERE!
(Country cowboy music)
Jimmy Z pulls out a rope and lassos the sock. He drags the sock out of Tortuga. Aviva examines Jimmy Z’s trail with the tablet.
She says,
LOOK EVEN AFTER THE
SMELLY THING IS GONE,
THERE ARE STILL SOME
SMELL MOLECULES AROUND.
THAT'S KEY!
Koki sniffs the air.
She replies,
YEAH BUT SO FEW, I CAN'T
REALLY SMELL IT ANYMORE.
(Sniff, sniff)
A white basset hound with brown and black markings sniffs the floor while it wanders around Tortuga.
Aviva says, BUT HE CAN!
(Giggles)
Koki adds,
IT'S A DOG!
HI BUDDY!
Aviva asks,
WHERE'D YOU COME FROM?
Koki and Aviva pet the dog.
Martin says,
HE'S A BASSET HOUND.
BASSET HOUNDS ARE ONE
OF THE BEST SMELLER'S
IN THE CREATURE WORLD.
A BASSET HOUND CAN SMELL
TEN THOUSAND TIMES BETTER
THAN A HUMAN CAN.
Koki says,
HMM, AND HE'S
ON THE SCENT TRAIL.
The dog continues to sniff the floor.
Martin says,
WE'VE GOTTA
GO AFTER CHRIS
AND THE SMELL TRACK ONE
THOUSAND CAN HELP.
HEY, CAN YOU MEET ME
OUT HERE WITH IT?
The video chat with Martin ends.
The dog rushes past Aviva and Koki carrying the sock. Jimmy Z is dragged behind by the rope.
He says,
WHOOAAAA!
SLOW DOOOOWNNNN!
UAAAAAH! UGH!
OW!
Jimmy Z crashes into a planter while the dog returns the sock to Aviva.
Aviva says, THANKS, SWEETIE.
(Panting)
Koki waves to the dog.
She says,
GOODBYE, HAPPY SMELLING.
The dog walks down a hall. Jimmy Z gets up and rubs his head.
Aviva says,
THE SMELL TRACKER ONE THOUSAND
IS KINDA LIKE A BASSET HOUND.
SINCE IT HAS A SUPER ABILITY
TO SENSE ODOR TRACKS.
SO, I'LL JUST SET IT TO FOX...
AND YOU CAN USE IT TO FOLLOW
THE FOX THAT HAS CHRIS.
Koki smiles while she looks at the smell tracker monitor.
She says,
YES! THIS IS
GOING TO BE AWESOME!
LET'S GO JIMMY!
Jimmy replies,

Jimmy follows Koki down the hall.
Aviva says, GOOD LUCK!
Meanwhile, Gourmand the chef gets out of his jeep and walks into his outdoor kitchen. He wears a white and black chef coat and baker’s hat. He has a small mustache and a large pink nose.
Gourmand says,
HMMMMM-MMMM.
AN ENDANGERED SPECIES
CHEF LIKE ME
ALWAYS USES THE
FINEST INGREDIENTS.
I JUST NEED A DELICIOUS VARMINT
TO COOK UP REAL NICE.
Red Flash walks behind Gourmand with Chris hanging from its mouth.
Chris says,
UH-OH, GOURMAND.
WAIT, WE BETTER GET OUT OF HERE.
OH NO! NO, NO, NO!
YOU WANT THOSE EGGS, DON'T YOU?
BE CAREFUL!
Red Flash slowly walks toward Gourmand’s bowl of ingredients.
Gourmand looks around.
He says,
HMMM...
IF I COULD JUST FIND A VARMINT
SOMEWHERE IN THESE WOODS.
AW...
Red Flash steals one of Gourmand’s eggs and walks back to Chris.
Chris says,
HA!
GOURMAND IS OUTFOXED...
BY A FOX!
QUICK, LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!
Chris rides on Red Flash’s back as it runs back into the forest.
Gourmand sniffs the air and then looks at his ingredients.
He says,
HEYYY!
AN EGG IS GONE!
(Inhales)
Gourmand adds,
AND I SMELL A THIEF!
HMMM...
I'LL NEED MY ASSISTANT.
(Loud whistle)
The dog peaks out from behind a tree.
Gourmand asks,
DO YOU SMELL SOMETHING, NOSTRIL?
(Gasps)
Nostril sniffs the ground.
Gourmand says,
YOU'RE ONTO THAT
THIEF AREN'T YA?
(Sniffing)
(Grunting)
Gourmand crawls behind Nostril and sniffs the ground. They find Chris and Red Flash.
Gourmand shouts,
HUH? STOP THIEF!
GET AFTER IT, NOSTRIL!
Nostril runs toward Red Flash.
Chris says,
UH-OH. THEY'RE AFTER US!
KICK IT INTO GEAR!
Red Flash runs away from the dog with the egg in its mouth and Chris on its back.
Meanwhile, Martin and Jimmy follow Koki through the forest while she uses the smell tracker.
Martin says,
OKAY, THIS
MUST BE HER TRAIL.
WE JUST CAN'T LOSE IT.
Koki replies,
YUP, THOSE
ORANGE SMELL MOLECULES
ARE THE FOX'S SCENT TRAIL.
WE'RE ON IT AND I CAN'T WAIT
TO MEET MY FIRST RED FOX!
Martin, Koki, and Martin reach a small pond. Jimmy Z grunts while he leaps from rock to rock across it.
Martin says,
PREDATORS AND DOGS LIKE
HOUNDS ALSO PICK UP OTHER
SMELLS WHEN FOLLOWING A TRAIL.
LIKE THE SMELL OF FRESHLY
DISTURBED SOIL FROM FOOTSTEPS.
OR THE SMELL OF BROKEN
PLANTS LEFT BEHIND.
Koki looks at a sent trail next to a broken white flower on the tablet.
She replies,
YEAH, I CAN SEE THE
SCENT FROM THE BROKEN PLANT.
UH-OH! WHAT NOW?
Martin looks at the screen on his wrist.
He says,
HEY, IT'S
SOME WILD KRATTS KIDS.
GO FOR MARTIN!
Nolan, a blonde-haired boy wearing a grey jersey, and Eden, a dark-haired girl wearing a red and yellow jacket, appear on the screen.
Nolan says,
HEY, WILD KRATTS!
NOLAN AND EDEN HERE.
WE HAVE A CREATURE MYSTERY.
Eden adds,
YEAH, THERE'S SOME STRANGE
SOUNDS COMING FROM THE SHED.
Martin asks,
REALLY?
MAYBE IT'S THE FOX.
Koki looks at the tablet.
She says,
THE GPS READING
SHOWS THEY'RE NEARBY.
Martin says,
OKAY, THANKS
FOR THE CREATURE ALERT,
I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!
STAY ON THE FOX TRAIL GUYS!
Martin runs back to the shed.
Jimmy shouts,
NO PROBLEM!
WHOA!!!
He falls into the pond.
(Splash!)
Koki says,
WELL, MAYBE
NOT NO PROBLEM...
Gourmand and Nostril continue the sniff the ground while they search the forest. Further down a trail, Chris holds the egg as he rides on Red Flash’s back.
He says,
THANKS FOR
LETTING ME RIDE
INSTEAD OF BEING CARRIED!
THIS WAY I CAN BE ON THE
LOOKOUT MORE EASILY TOO.
UH-OH. THEY'RE GAINING ON US.
YOU'D BETTER START
USING SOME OF THOSE
AWESOME TRICKS YOU FOXES HAVE.
I KNOW YOUR CREATURE POWER
IS TO BE SMART AND CUNNING.
IT'S TIME TO USE THAT TO GET
GOURMAND OFF OUR TRAIL.
(Gasps)
Red Flash turns around and follows its trail backward.
Chris says,
HUH?!
TURNING AROUND?! NO!
WHAT?! WHY ARE YOU HEADING
STRAIGHT TOWARDS THEM?
NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND!
HMMM, YOU'RE FOLLOWING
YOUR EXACT TRAIL BACKWARDS...
Red Flash jumps onto a boulder.
Chris says,
WHOAA! NICE LEAP.
OH, I GET IT.
THIS IS YOUR TRICK!
IT'S CALLED DOUBLING BACK.
Gourmand and Nostril sniff the ground while they walk past Chris and Red Flash.
Gourmand says,
THAT'S IT. STAY
ON THE SCENT TRAIL, NOSTRIL!
(Sniffing)
Gourmand follows Nostril past the boulder.
Chris says,
IT'S WORKING!
HE'S FOLLOWING THE FAKE
SCENT TRAIL YOU MADE.
Gourmand looks down at Red Flash’s trail.
He says,
HUH?! THE TRAIL JUST ENDS!?
Chris whispers,
THAT'S WHERE YOU TURNED
AROUND AND DOUBLED BACK!
ONLY THEY DON'T KNOW IT.
FOR THEM, THE TRAIL JUST STOPS.
Gourmand sniffs the air.
He says,
I DON'T SMELL
THAT THIEF ANYMORE.
WHERE'D THAT VARMINT GO?
Nostril sniffs the ground. It points up to the boulder.
Gourmand says,
OH, COME ON NOSTRIL, THEY'VE
MUST HAVE GONE THIS WAY.
BACK ON THE TRAIL!
Nostril follows Gourmand down the trail.
Chris says,
PRETTY SMOOTH RED FLASH,
HE'S OUTFOXED AGAIN!
Red Flash leaps off the boulder and continues through the forest.
Meanwhile, Koki and Jimmy approach a stream. A fallen log lies over the water.
Koki looks at the tablet.
She says,
IT LOOKS LIKE THE FOX
CROSSED THE STREAM ON THIS LOG.
HOLD IT!
Koki stands in the middle of the log over the stream. Jimmy loses his balance. He falls and grips the log tightly while he hangs over the stream.
Jimmy says,
AHHHH!
UGH! WHY'D YOU STOP?
Koki answers,
THE TRAIL! IT JUST ENDS!
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LOG!
Jimmy replies,
WELL, THE FOX
ISN'T UNDER THE LOG.
He crawls across the log upside down.
Aviva appears on the tablet.
She asks,
HOW'S IT GOING TRACKERS?
Koki replies,
WE LOST THE SCENT TRAIL.
Jimmy says,
WELL, THERE'S
ALWAYS A NEXT TIME.
Koki shakes her head.
She replies,
NO! I HAVE
TO MEET THE FOX.
WE'RE NOT GIVING UP!
Aviva says,
THE FOX COULDN'T HAVE
DISAPPEARED INTO THIN AIR.
Jimmy says,
JUST KEEP
GOING TO THE OTHER BANK.
SHE WAS HEADING THAT WAY SO
I'M SURE WE'LL PICK IT UP HERE.
Koki glances down at the tablet.
She says,
UNLESS...THE FOX
IS TRICKIER THAN THAT.
THE SMELL TRACKER IS
SHOWING THE SCENT IS HERE!
SO, THE FOX MUST HAVE...
COME UP TO THE LOG,
STARTED ACROSS IT.
ANY ANIMAL FOLLOWING
HER TRAIL WOULD ASSUME
SHE WOULD GO ALL THE WAY ACROSS.
SO, SHE DOESN'T.
SHE JUMPS OFF ONTO THIS ISLAND.
THEN...
(Whirring scanning sound)
The smell tracker scans the other side of the stream.
Koki says, NO TRAIL HERE.
(Whirring scanning sound)
The smell scanner returns to the other side of the stream and scans it. A new trail appears.
Koki says,
EUREKA! HERE'S HER TRAIL!
Aviva replies, WOW!
Koki adds,
IT'S HERE!
SO...
SHE JUMPED FROM THE ISLAND
BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BANK.
Aviva says,
GENIUS!
WHO WOULD HAVE
ASSUMED SHE'D DO THAT?
Jimmy replies, NOT ME.
Koki adds,
AND THE TRAIL GOES OFF
THAT WAY ALONG THE BANK.
SHE COULD'VE JUST
KEPT GOING STRAIGHT,
BUT SHE DID THAT WHOLE LOG THING
TO THROW EVERYONE OFF HER TRAIL.
Aviva says,

Koki and Jimmy run along the water’s edge.
(Odd cries)
Meanwhile, Martin meets Nolan and Eden in front of the barn.
Nolan says, I THINK IT'S HAUNTED!
Eden adds, SOUNDS LIKE AN ALIEN.
Martin replies,

Nolan asks,

A kit squeezes out of the shed through a hole in the ground.
Martin answers,

(Howl-like cry)

Nolan opens the shed door.
(Distress sound)
Two more kits walk out of the shed.
Martin says,

IN THE SHED.
The three kits run to the forest.
Eden says,
AWWW, FOX KITS
ARE THE CUTEST!
(Playful sound)
One kit pounces on another kit.
Martin replies,
YEAH, THEY'RE ONLY
ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE WEEKS OLD.
One of the kits chases a butterfly.
Nolan says,
HAHA, THAT ONE'S
REALLY POUNCY.
Martin replies,
POUNCY! THAT'S GREAT!
WE'LL CALL HER POUNCY!
Another kit lowers its head as it slowly approaches Pouncy.
Eden says,
OH, HE'S SNEAKING UP
ON HER...
The kit jumps on Pouncy’s back and pins her on her back.
Martin says,
OOOO! SNEAKER!
WE'LL CALL HIM SNEAKER!
The third kit lies on a fallen tree trunk and yawns.
Nolan asks,
TOO INTENSE FOR YOU,
LITTLE GUY?
Martin says,

YOU KNOW, THIS PLAY IS
IMPORTANT PRACTICE FOR HUNTING.
AS THE KITS GROW UP THEY HAVE TO
GET REALLY GOOD AT STALKING
AND POUNCING TO
CATCH THEIR FOOD.
SO, THEY START PRACTICING
RIGHT NOW
WITH PLAYFUL GAMES
RIGHT FROM THE START.
Sneaker leaps toward the butterfly and falls onto the ground. The butterfly flies away from him. The three kits run past Nolan, Eden, and Martin.
Nolan asks,
WHERE'RE THEY GOING?
The kits climb onto a pile of fallen logs.
Martin replies,
OH, LOOKS LIKE THERE'S
ANOTHER DEN RIGHT THERE.
FOXES USUALLY HAVE
MULTIPLE DENS TO USE,
THAT ARE NOT FAR AWAY
FROM EACH OTHER.
Nolan and Eden run to the fox den.
Nolan says,
AWESOME!
I'M SO GLAD THEY DECIDED
TO MAKE A DEN BY MY HOUSE.
I LOVE FOXES!
(Sniffing)
Meanwhile, Gourmand and Nostril continue to search for Red Flash.
Gourmand says,
I DON'T LIKE FOXES!
C'MON NOSTRIL,
LET'S GET THAT VARMINT!
Further down the trail, Chris rides on Red Flash’s back.
Chris says,
OKAY, RED FLASH.
I KNOW YOU HAVE A FEW MORE
TRICKS UP YOUR SLEEVE.
KICK IT!
Red Flash runs to a river’s edge and looks around.
(Gentle splashing)
Red Flash crosses the river.
Chris says,
OH-HO, I GET THIS TRICK.
NO SCENT TRAIL IS LEFT BEHIND
WHEN YOU'RE SWIMMING IN WATER.
Red Flash reaches the other side. Chris watches Gourmand and Nostril sniff the ground on the other bank.
(Sniffing)
Gourmand says, C'MON!
Nostril jumps on Gourmand’s back. Gourmand crawls into the river. He sniffs the river bed while a fish swims by.
(Sniffing)
Gourmand and Nostril reach the other side.
Gourmand sneezes, AAAA-CHOOOO!
Water pours out of his nose. Nostril walks in circles.
Chris and Red Flash watch Gourmand and Nostril from behind a rock.
Chris says,
YEAH...
LOST THE SCENT, HA!
Red Flash walks across a green field and leaps onto a wooden fence.
Chris says,
YEEEE-HAA!
NICE LEAP!
ONE OF THE BEST LEAPERS
IN THE WHOLE DOG FAMILY!
WHY ARE WE UP HERE?
Red Flash crawls across the top of the fence.
(Gasps)
Chris asks,
ARE YOU USING THE FENCE
TO GET YOUR SCENT
OFF THE GROUND?
I LIKE IT!
Red Flash jumps down from the fence and hides behind a bush as Gourmand and Nostril cross the field.
Gourmand says,
GOOD BOY, NOSTRIL!
YOU'VE REDISCOVERED THE SCENT.
(Smash!)
Gourmand keeps his head down while he smells the ground. He crashes into the fence and his head gets stuck between two poles.
Gourmand says,
OWWWW!
AUGH! WHO PUT THAT FENCE THERE?
Nostril bites on Gourmand’s belt and yanks him free from the fence.
Gourmand shouts, YEOW!
(Thud!)
Nostril sniffs the ground.
Gourmand stands up and rubs his head.
He says,
OW!

Chris says,

At the fox den, Sneaker leaps on Pouncy.
Nolan asks,
WHERE ARE
THEIR MOM AND DAD?
Martin answers,
THE PARENTS LEAVE
THE KITS AT THE DEN
WHILE THEY GO OUT HUNTING.
SO, I'M HOPING IT'S THEIR MOM
THAT CAUGHT CHRIS
WHEN HE WAS IN A
SQUIRREL POWER SUIT,
SO SHE'LL END UP
BRINGING HIM BACK HERE!
Shy Guy jumps onto Martin’s lap and curls up.
Nolan replies,
I SURE HOPE SO!
AND THE DAD FOX?
Shy Guy jumps back down.
Martin adds,
THE DAD MUST
BE SOMEWHERE TOO.
THEY BOTH HELP TAKE
CARE OF THE KITS.
(Belly rumble)
Eden walks over to Pouncy.
She says,
A BELLY RUMBLE, THE
KITS ARE GETTING HUNGRY!
Martin replies,
HMM, SEEMS LIKE IT.
THE MOM AND DAD USUALLY
LEAVE SOME FOOD,
HIDDEN AROUND THE DEN,
BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THERE'S
NOT MUCH LEFT RIGHT NOW.
Nolan says, UH-OH FOR CHRIS!
Martin replies,
YEAH, WE'D BETTER
BE READY TO SNATCH HIM
BEFORE THESE HUNGRY KITS DO.
(Twigs snapping)
Martin whispers,
SOMEONE'S COMING!
The kits run into their den while Martin, Nolan, and Eden hide behind the shed.
Gourmand sniffs the ground.
He asks,
HOW COULD YOU LOSE
THE SCENT OF THAT FOX?
Martin says, GOURMAND?!
(Sniffing)
Nostril smells around the fox den.
Gourmand asks,
YOU SMELL SOMETHING?
OH! A DEN! A FOX DEN!
WELL, THAT MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN
A POSSUM EATIN' A SWEET TATER...
YAH-HOOOOOO!!
Gourmand jumps up and down.
Martin whispers, OH NO!
Gourmand says,
I'M GOING
TO GET YOU NOW FOXES!
(Motor humming)
Gourmand starts a giant gas-powered whisk.
He adds, HA-HAAA!
(Motor rumble)
Gourmand digs a hole in the ground with the whisk.
Martin holds his wrist screen to his face.
He says,
FOX DEN TO TORTUGA.
COME IN TORTUGA. WE NEED HELP!
Aviva works on a metal fox mask in Tortuga as Martin’s face appears on the screen.
She replies,
TORTUGA HERE. GO MARTIN.
Martin says,
I NEED A
FOX POWER DISC. FAST!!
Aviva replies,
YOU'RE IN LUCK.
I'M JUST PUTTING IN
THE SMELL SENSORS.
SEE, THAT'S WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE.
WHEN ODOR MOLECULES ENTER THE
NOSE, THE SENSORS ARE ACTIVATED.
BEING MEMBERS OF THE DOG
FAMILY AND PREDATORS,
FOXES HAVE A GREAT
SENSE OF SMELL TOO.
THEY FIND LOTS OF PREY
WITH THEIR SENSE OF SMELL.
Martin adds,
WELL, IF I DON'T GET
THAT FOX POWER DISC SOON,
WE'LL BE PREY!
Gourmand laughs while he digs deeper and deeper around the fox den.
Aviva says,
DONE...AAAND PRINT!
ON THE WAY, MARTIN!
She creates a fox power disc. Aviva tosses it into a teleporter and picks up a joystick.
She adds,
AND AS JIMMY ALWAYS SAYS,
ENERGIZE AND ZAP IT!
(Zap!)
The power disc is teleported to Martin. He catches it as it falls.
(Zap!)
Martin says,
GOT IT!
INSERT RED FOX POWER DISC.
(Whirring)
Martin crawls into the fox den while Gourmand digs. He taps one of the kits on the chest.
Martin says,
TOUCH RED FOX.
ACTIVATE RED FOX POWER!
His suit transforms into a fox suit.
Eden says, WOW!
Nolan adds, FOX POWER!
Martin replies,
OH YEAH, I FEEL SO
FLEET-FOOTED AND QUICK!
UUUH, AND CLEVER TOO.
Nolan says, JUST LIKE A FOX!
Martin adds,
YEAH, HEY YOU
GUYS HIDE FROM GOURMAND,
WHILE I GET THESE
KITS TO A SAFE PLACE.
C'MON, LITTLE GUYS.
WE GOTTA GET OUTTA
HERE FOR A WHILE.
YOU'LL BE SAFE WITH ME!
LET'S GO!
The kits run out of the den. They follow Martin into the forest.
Gourmand looks angry while he continues to dig.
He shouts,
I KNOW YOU'RE
DOWN THERE, YOU VARMINT!
Meanwhile, Aviva runs out of Tortuga. She looks at her tablet.
Aviva says,
KOKI! JIMMY!
WE'VE GOTTA MEET UP!
WE NEED TO PUT
OUR HEADS TOGETHER
AND HELP MARTIN
SAVE THOSE FOX KITS.
Koki works on the tablet screen.
She replies,
YOU GOT IT!
WE'VE LEARNED A LOT ABOUT FOX
TRICKS FOLLOWING THE SCENT.
Aviva says,
GOOD. WE'LL NEED
TO THINK LIKE A FOX.
Gourmand looks exhausted. Nostril shakes dirt out of its fur.
(Sniffing)
Nostril walks toward the opening of the den.
Gourmand asks,
HUH?! WHERE ARE YA GOING?
OH, ESCAPED OUT THE BACK!
I SHOULD'VE KNOWN.
Nostril runs into the forest. Gourmand chases it.
Gourmand shouts,
I'M BACK ONTO YOU, FOXES!
Red Flash and Chris return to the den.
Chris says,
WE'RE NOT
BEING FOLLOWED ANYMORE,
GOOD JOB LOSING THEM, RED FLASH!
C'MON OUT, KITS.
WE'VE GOT SOME FOOD FOR YA!
(Playful sound)
Red Flash sniffs the air.
Chris Gasps.
He says,
YOUR DEN!
WHAT HAPPENED HERE?
YOUR KITS. THEY'RE GONE!!
Red Flash and Chris look inside the den.
In the forest, Martin and the kits run across a clearing.
Martin says, WAIT!
He inhales deeply.
Martin says,
OH NO, THEY'RE STILL ON US!
ALL OUR FOX SCENT PUT
TOGETHER IS WAY TOO SMELLY.
OKAY, FOX TRICK, FOX TRICK...
I NEED A FOX TRICK!
HEY, MAYBE WE CAN HIDE OUR SCENT
WITH THE SWEET SMELL OF FLOWERS!
COME ON IN!
Martin leaps into a large flower bush. The kits follow him in and roll around on the orange flowers.
(Laughs)
Martin says,
WOO-HOO!!
OK, I THINK WE SMELL
MORE FLOWERY NOW.
Aviva shouts, MARTIN!
Aviva, Koki, and Jimmy walk over to the flower bush.
Martin replies, AVIVA?
Koki says,
THAT'S A GREAT
FOX-LIKE IDEA, MARTIN!
Aviva adds,
AND WE'VE GOT
ONE TO ADD TO IT.
Martin says,
BUT WE DON'T
NEED TO TRACK ANYTHING.
WE NEED TO LOSE GOURMAND!
Aviva points to the smell tracker
She says,
NO, LOOK!
I ADDED A FEATURE.
NOW, IT CAN LAY DOWN FOX SCENT.
A scent floats out of the smell tracker.
Koki adds,
IT CAN TAKE OVER
YOUR FOX SCENT TRAIL
THAT GOURMAND IS FOLLOWING.
IT'LL ACT LIKE A DECOY.
(Hissing!)
Sneaker scurries away from the smell tracker. The smell tracker floats back into the forest.
Koki says,
OFF IT GOES...
LAYING DOWN A TRAIL
OF FOX SCENT.
Martin replies,
OH WOW, A DECOY!
BRILLIANT!
AND NOW THAT WE DON'T SMELL
LIKE FOXES ANYMORE,
WE'LL SLIP OFF IN THIS
DIRECTION! C'MON!
Koki, Aviva, Jimmy, and the kits follow Martin into the flower bush.
(Sniffing)
Nostril and Gourmand sniff the ground as they walk into the clearing.
Gourmand asks,
YOU GOT SOMETHIN', BOY?
(Sniffing)
Nostril sniffs around the flower bush. Martin, Koki, Aviva, Jimmy, and the kits duck behind the branches.
Gourmand asks, WHAT'S WRONG?!
(Sniffs)
Nostril turns around and sniffs in the opposite direction.
(Howls)
Nostril follows the smell tracker’s trail.
Gourmand says,
HA! THEY WENT THAT WAY!
GOURMAND IS TOO
SMART FOR YOU, VARMINTS!
Gourmand follows Nostril into the forest.
Koki says, OR IS HE...
Martin, Koki, Aviva, and Jimmy shout,
OUTFOXED!
Koki kneels beside the kits.
She says,
FINALLY! A RED FOX!
YOU ARE SO CUTE!
I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE
TO MEET ONE OF YOU FOXES.
(Laughing)
The kits jump on Koki.
Aviva asks,
DO YOU THINK
SHE'S HAPPY
SHE FINALLY CAUGHT UP
TO THE RED FOXES?
Martin, Koki, Aviva, and Jimmy laugh.
Meanwhile, Red Flash sniffs around the shed while Chris stands on the den and holds the egg.
Chris says,
DON'T WORRY.
WE'LL FIND YOUR KITS SOMEHOW.
Martin asks,
ARE YOU
LOOKING FOR THESE?
Koki, Aviva, Jimmy, and the kits follow Martin to the den. The kits run to Red Flash.
Koki says,
AWWW!
WHAT A REUNION!
THIS JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER.
Chris asks,
ANYBODY HUNGRY?
WE BROUGHT THIS BACK FOR YA'!
YOU'RE AWESOMELY CLEVER MOM
OUTFOXED GOURMAND
EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.
Chris lays the egg in front of the kits.
Koki says,
I WASN'T SURE WE'D EVER
CATCH UP WITH YOU TRICKY FOXES,
BUT IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT!
Martin chuckles.
He replies,
I WONDER
WHERE GOURMAND IS NOW?
The French flag flies above the Eiffel Tower. Nostril follows the smell tracker as it floats across a park below. Gourmand follows closely behind.
(Exhausted panting)
Nostril and Gourmand follow the smell tracker across the Egyptian desert.
Gourmand says,
I'LL TRACK THESE FOXES
TO THE END OF THE EARTH!
(Exhausted panting)
Nostril and Gourmand follow the smell tracker past a group of penguins in Antarctica.
Gourmand says,
GOURMAND ALWAYS GETS HIS FOX!
At the fox den, Nolan and Eden pet the kits.
Koki says,
I THINK HE'S BEEN
OUT-FOXED!
(Laughing)
A green light flashes. Chris and Martin return to real life.
Chris says,
SO, RED FOXES ARE
INCREDIBLY RESOURCEFUL,
ADAPTABLE AND CLEVER.
Martin adds,
AND BACK HERE AT THE DEN,
THE FOX FAMILY HAS BEEN BUSY.
WITH THE PARENTS TAKING
CARE OF THE YOUNG KITS,
AND THE LITTLE FOXES HONING
THEIR RED FOX POWER!
A fox runs across a field.
Chris says,
THE FOX PARENTS
ARE EXCELLENT HUNTERS,
AND WHEN IT'S TIME FOR
THEM TO GO OFF AND HUNT,
THEY LEAVE THE FOX
KITS ALONE AT THE DEN.
AND THE KITS KNOW TO
STAY INSIDE THE HOLES
OR VERY CLOSE TO THE DEN
UNTIL THEY RETURN.
THEIR PARENTS ARE
RESOURCEFUL AND CARING,
AND UNDER THEIR WATCHFUL EYE,
THESE KITS WILL LEARN
HOW TO USE THEIR FOX POWERS
OF ATHLETICISM,
CUNNING AND INTELLIGENCE.
CHECK IT OUT, IF YOU
LOOK AROUND THE DEN SITE,
YOU CAN REALLY SEE
WHAT THE PARENTS ARE BRINGING
BACK FOR THE KITS TO EAT.
LOOK, RIGHT OVER HERE IS
A SNAKE THAT THEY CAUGHT
AND THAT LITTLE KIT
WAS CARRYING IT AROUND
AND PLAYING WITH IT.
SO THEY MIGHT WANT
TO FINISH THIS LATER
OR PLAY WITH IT SOME MORE
AND PRACTICE THEIR HUNTING.
Martin walks out from behind a tree.
He adds,
AS THE KITS
GROW BIGGER AND STRONGER,
THEY GET MORE
AND MORE ADVENTUROUS.
THEY EVEN STARTED
WONDERING ABOUT US.
(Suspenseful music)
A kit watches Chris sit on the grass outside the den. It slowly walks toward him.
Chris whispers,
CHECK IT OUT,
HE'S PRACTICING HUNTING,
PROBABLY LOOKING FOR LITTLE
INSECTS IN THE GRASS.
THOSE EARLY HUNTING SKILLS.
THIS IS THE AGE
WHERE THESE FOXES
START EXPLORING THEIR HABITAT.
THEY DO A LOT OF
PLAYING WITH EACH OTHER
TO PRACTICE THEIR HUNTING SKILLS
AND THEY BECOME VERY CURIOUS.
VERY CURIOUS.
OH, THEY ARE SO CUTE!
The kit gets closer to Chris.
Chris asks,
WHERE'S EVERYBODY ELSE?
The fox runs back to the den.
Later, Martin and Chris walk through the forest.
Martin says,
AND NOW THE FOX KITS ARE
BIG ENOUGH TO HAVE LEFT THE DEN.
Chris adds,
WE WERE SO LUCKY
TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO
WATCH THEM GROW-UP!
Martin says,
THEY'RE GONNA DO GREAT!
Chris replies,
OH YEAH, KEEP ON
CREATURE ADVENTURING!
Martin says,
WE'LL SEE YOU
ON THE CREATURE TRAIL!
