An animated sun shines brightly as a plane flies through the sky. An owl sits on a tree branch beside host Mandisa, who waves. Mandisa has black hair held back by a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.

An animated ladybug lands on a flower beside Mandisa. A bus drives down a street as Mandisa walks down a path. Mandisa wears a fox hand puppet crafted out of a paper bag and holds a cardboard robot. Mandisa smiles.

A title reads, Curious Crafting.

Mandisa sits at a table in a dimly lit playroom wearing denim overalls over a pink shirt. Christmas lights hang from the ceiling room. Mandisa sits with a child with long black hair in braids who wears a blue tie dye shirt and a child with long brown hair in pig tails who wears a purple shirt.

Mandisa asks, AREN'T THOSE TWINKLE
LIGHTS NICE?

The lights brighten.

Mandisa asks, DO YOU KNOW WHAT TINY
LITTLE INSECT
THOSE TWINKLE LIGHTS
REMIND ME OF?

The brown haired girl says, FIREFLIES!

The black haired girl says, FIREFLIES.

Mandisa says, YES, THAT'S RIGHT.
TINY LITTLE INSECTS THAT GLOW IN
THE DARK.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE A FIREFLY
THAT I MADE?

The children say, YEAH!

Mandisa pulls out a firefly water bottle craft.

She says, HERE IT IS.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE A FIREFLY
CRAFT OF YOUR OWN?

The children nod.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GOING TO NEED SOME CRAFT
SUPPLIES.
LET'S GO GET THEM.

Mandisa and the children leave the table.

Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED A
WATER BOTTLE,
GLUE AND TAPE…

The children collect their craft supplies.

Mandisa narrates, …FOAM SHEETS, GOOGLY EYES,
FOAM SHAPES,
TISSUE PAPER AND GLOW STICKS.
AND DON'T FORGET PIPE CLEANERS.

Mandisa sits at the table with the children and their craft supplies.

Mandisa says, SO FOR OUR INSECT, WE'RE GOING
TO USE WATER BOTTLES.

Mandisa holds up two empty plastic water bottles.

Mandisa says, I WANT YOU TO PUT SOME GLUE ALL
OVER YOUR BOTTLE.
PUT THE GLUE ON THE BOTTLE,
AND WE'RE GOING TO WRAP AROUND
OUR TISSUE PAPER.

With gluesticks, the children spread glue over their water bottles.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GOING TO START THERE AND
WRAP IT ALL AROUND.
GOOD JOB.

The children wrap their water bottles with yellow tissue paper. Mandisa helps the brown haired child.

Mandisa says, ALL RIGHT.
WE COULD USE THESE PIPE CLEANERS
TO MAKE LEGS AND ANTENNAS FOR
OUR FIREFLIES.

Mandisa and the black haired child hold up pipe cleaners like antenna.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GOING TO WRAP OUR PIPE
CLEANERS
AROUND OUR WATER BOTTLE TO
CREATE OUR LEGS.

Mandisa wraps a yellow pipe cleaner around the brown haired child’s water bottle. The black haired child wraps a green pipe cleaner around the other bottle.

The girl says, I WRAPPED IT AROUND.

Mandisa says, TWIST THEM.
AND I'M GOING TO
BEND THEM
TO MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE
LITTLE LEGS.

Mandisa helps the black haired child with the green pipe cleaner.

Mandisa says, ONE MORE TIME.
GOOD.

Mandisa helps the black haired child with twisting the pipe cleaner. The child gives Mandisa two thumbs up.

Mandisa says, ALL RIGHT.

Mandisa gives a thumbs up.

She says, THREE LITTLE LEGS FOR YOUR...

The black haired child finishes working on the legs.

Mandisa says, …ALL RIGHT.
GOOD JOB.
OK, LET'S GIVE OUR FIREFLIES
SOME ANTENNAE.
SO WE'RE GOING TO WRAP THIS ONE
AROUND THE NECK OF THE BOTTLE.

Mandisa holds a green pipe cleaner under the neck of the brown haired child’s bottle.

Mandisa asks, CAN YOU TRY DOING THAT?

The black haired child wraps a yellow pipe cleaner around the neck of their bottle.

The child says, I HAVE IT.

Mandisa says, YOU HAVE IT?
ALL RIGHT.
CURL IT AROUND OUR FINGER
JUST LIKE THAT TO GIVE IT
A LITTLE CURL.

Mandisa gives the ends of a pipe cleaner a small curl with her finger.

She asks, WANT TO CURL IT?

Mandisa helps the brown haired child curl an end of the green pipe cleaner.

Mandisa says, THERE WE GO.

The black haired child holds up their firefly craft.

The child says, I DID IT.

Mandisa says, HOW ARE OUR FIREFLIES GOING
TO FLY?
WITH WINGS.
OK.

The black haired child grabs two yellow paper cut outs.

The child says, I LIKE ORANGE.

Mandisa says, THEY COULD USE A LITTLE
DECORATING.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE SOME
FOAM SHAPES?

Mandisa holds out a bowl of foam shapes.

Both children say, YEAH.

Mandisa says, OK.
WHAT SHAPE ARE YOU GOING
TO CHOOSE?

The children decorate their firefly wings with foam shapes.

Mandisa says, YEAH.

The black haired child says, I'M GOING TO USE
SQUARES.

The children glue foam shapes to the wings.

Mandisa says, TO ATTACH OUR WINGS WE'RE GOING
TO USE SOME DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE.

Mandisa holds the brown haired child’s bottle while the child sticks double sided tape to it.

Mandisa says, THAT, AND THEN YOU CAN STICK IT
RIGHT THERE.
YEAH.

The brown haired child presses the wings down onto the double sided tape. The black haired child holds up their firefly with the wings attached.

The child says, GOT IT.

Mandisa says, LET'S STICK IT RIGHT THERE.

Mandisa helps the brown haired child with the craft.

Mandisa says, OK, SO WE CAN CHOOSE SOME
GOOGLY EYES.

The black haired child says, I LOVE GOOGLY EYES.

The child picks googly eyes from a small bowl.

Mandisa says, YOU CAN STICK YOUR EYES ON RIGHT
THERE ON THE CAP.

The black haired child sticks the googly eyes to the cap of their water bottle.

Mandisa asks, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DRAW A SMILE
ON HIM?

Mandisa offers the brown haired child a marker. The child nods. The black haired child draws a smile on the cap of their water bottle below their googly eyes.

Mandisa says, SHE'S ADORABLE.
WE GOT TO GIVE OUR FIREFLIES
SOME LIGHT USING A GLOW STICK.
BUT CAN YOU BEND IT?

The brown haired child bends a glowstick.

Mandisa says, YES.

The black haired child bends a glowstick.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT, BEND IT ALL OVER
SO YOU CAN SEE THE GLOW.

The black haired child says, I USED TO HAVE THESE.

Mandisa says, DID YOU?

The brown haired child starts to slide the glowstick into their water bottle.

Mandisa says, OK.
THEN YOU CAN PUT IT
INSIDE.

The children put their glowsticks in their water bottles. The brown haired child holds up their firefly craft.

Mandisa asks, SHOULD WE SEE IF OUR FIREFLIES
CAN GLOW IN THE DARK?

The black haired child says, YEAH.

Mandisa says, OK.

The lights in the playroom dim. Mandisa and the children play with their firefly crafts.
