An animated sun shines. Mandisa waves beside a tree. Mandisa has black hair held back with a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.

An animated owl and ladybug move around Mandisa. Mandisa holds a hand puppet crafted out of a paper bag and a cardboard robot.

A title reads: Curious Crafting

Mandisa sits at a table in a playroom. Two children run in and sit at the table. One has curly red hair, and the other child has blonde hair held back with barrettes.

Mandisa says, JUST IN TIME, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS?

Mandisa holds up a red crab crafted out of paper.

(Water bubbling)

The red-haired child says, A CRAB.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT. IT'S A TISSUE PAPER CRAB. WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE ONE?

The blonde-haired child says, YES.

Mandisa says, OK, LET'S GO GET WHAT WE NEED.

(Slide whistle)

(Music playing)

Mandisa and the children get up and quickly walk around the room gathering craft supplies.

Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED WHITE CARD STOCK. GOOGLY EYES. RED FOAM SHEETS, GLUE. AND DON'T FORGET TISSUE PAPER.

Mandisa and the children sit back at the table. Craft supplies are in front of them on the table.

Mandisa says, OKAY, WHAT COULD WE USE HERE FOR OUR CRAB'S BODY? WHAT SHAPE IS IT?

The blonde-haired child draws a circle in the air.

Mandisa asks, DO YOU SEE ANY CIRCLES? THAT'S RIGHT, M.J. SO WE'RE GOING TO USE THESE CIRCLES TO MAKE OUR CRAB'S BODY. WE'RE GOING TO USE RED TISSUE PAPER TO COLOUR OUR CRAB.

The red-haired child says, WE CAN GLUE THEM.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GOING TO GLUE THEM DOWN. THAT'S RIGHT, RIVER. GOOD JOB. YEAH. PUT SOME GLUE ONTO YOUR CIRCLE.

(Slide whistle)

River and MJ use glue sticks.

Mandisa says, AND THEN WE'RE GOING TO TAKE A SQUARE OF TISSUE PAPER AND SCRUNCH IT UP AND STICK IT IN THE GLUE. THAT'S RIGHT, MJ. SCRUNCH, SCRUNCH, SCRUNCH.

MJ presses bits of red tissue paper against a white circle of paper.

Mandisa asks, M.J., WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO CALL YOUR CRAB?

MJ says, A CRAB MONSTER!

River says, A CRAB MONSTER.

Mandisa says, A CRAB MONSTER.

(Music playing)

The children work on their crafts with Mandisa helping them.

MJ says, LOOK AT MINE.

River says, LOOK I PUT SOME MORE AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE LIKE ME.

MJ says, THIS IS WHERE THE EYES ARE GONNA BE.

River asks, NOW WHAT?

Mandisa says, THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION. WHAT SHOULD WE ADD NEXT?

MJ says, THE EYES.

Mandisa says, GOOGLY EYES!

(Slide whistle)

Mandisa holds a small bowl filled with googly eyes.

Mandisa asks, DO YOU WANT TO CHOOSE TWO GOOGLY EYES?

The children pick eyes out of the bowl.

An animated smile appears on the table.

Mandisa asks, HOW MANY LEGS DOES MY CRAB HAVE? LET'S GLUE SIX LEGS ONTO OUR CRABS. TURN OUR CRAB OVER AND YOU CAN GLUE SIX LEGS ONTO THE BACK. GOOD AND STICK YOUR FIRST LEG IN.

The children glue red legs made of paper onto the circles.

Mandisa says, ONE. GOOD. OH, HOW MANY LEGS DOES YOUR CRAB HAVE?

MJ says, TWO.

Mandisa says, TWO SO FAR. GOOD, LET'S KEEP GLUEING. ONE MORE LEG RIGHT THERE ON THAT SIDE, GOOD.

MJ says, MY CRAB IS SILLY.

Mandisa asks, YOUR CRAB IS SILLY?

MJ glues more legs.

Mandisa says, GOOD. HOW MANY LEGS DOES YOUR CRAB HAVE NOW?

River counts, ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX.

Mandisa says, SIX, SIX LEGS. GOOD JOB. ALL RIGHT, WE'VE ONE MORE THING TO ADD TO OUR CRAB.

(Whistle)

An animated crayon points to the crab’s claws.

Mandisa asks, WHAT?
River says, CLAWS.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT. WE'RE GOING TO ADD SOME CLAWS. LET'S ADD OUR CLAWS TO OUR CRAB. GIVE YOUR CLAW A LITTLE LEG, A LITTLE ARM SO WE CAN STICK IT JUST LIKE THIS.

Animated eyes appear on the table.

Mandisa says, OH, GOOD JOB MJ.

The children hold up their crabs.

All say, SNAP, SNAP, SNAP, SNAP.

Mandisa says, HEY, LET'S MAKE OUR CRABS GO SWIMMING.

Mandisa moves her crab over the table.

MJ says, IT'S WALKING HERE.
