A person says, WHEE!

(Cheerful music plays)

An animated sun shines brightly as a plane flies through the sky. An owl sits on a tree branch beside host Mandisa, who waves. Mandisa has black hair held back by a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.

An animated ladybug lands on a flower beside Mandisa. A bus drives down a street as Mandisa walks down a path. Mandisa wears a fox hand puppet crafted out of a paper bag and holds a cardboard robot. Mandisa smiles.

A title reads, Curious Crafting.

Mandisa sits at a table in a playroom. She wears a green headband and denim overalls over a white shirt. Two children sit with her. One has long brown hair in braided pigtails while the other has short black hair. Mandisa holds flowers.

She asks, YOU WANT TO SMELL MY FLOWERS?

Mandisa smells her flowers.

She says, FLOWERS USUALLY GROW IN
SPRINGTIME,
BUT USING MATERIALS YOU CAN FIND
AROUND THE HOUSE,
YOU CAN MAKE A FLOWER CRAFT ANY
TIME OF THE YEAR.

Mandisa pulls out a flower craft.

She says, THESE ARE MY CUPCAKE FLOWERS.

Four flowers of different colours decorate a paper.

The black haired child says, I'D LIKE TO
MAKE BLUE.

The brown haired child says, I WANNA MAKE PINK!

Mandisa says, WE NEED TO GO GRAB SOME
SUPPLIES.

The brown haired child says, YEAH!

Mandisa says, OK, LET'S GO.

Mandisa and the children leave the table. The children collect craft supplies.

Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED POM POMS.
SCISSORS.
BUTTONS.
GEMSTONES.
CUPCAKE LINERS.
MINI CUPCAKE LINERS.
PAINT STICKS, CRAFT STICKS AND
CONSTRUCTION PAPER.

Mandisa sits at the table with the children and their crafting supplies.

Mandisa asks, SO WHAT DO YOU THINK
WOULD MAKE
REALLY GOOD FLOWER PETALS?

The children each grab colourful cupcake liners.

Mandisa says, CUPCAKE LINERS, THAT'S RIGHT.
TAKE ONE BIG ONE AND ONE
SMALL ONE.
WE'RE GOING TO TURN OUR CUPCAKE
LINERS INSIDE OUT
SO THE COLOUR IS ON THE OUTSIDE.

Mandisa flips a cupcake liner inside out.

She says, NOW YOU SEE HOW MY
CUPCAKE LINER IS
CUT TO LOOK LIKE PETALS?

Mandisa points to the flowers on her craft.

The brown haired child says, YEAH.

Mandisa says, CAN YOU GRAB A PAIR OF SCISSORS?

The brown haired child grabs a pair of yellow scissors.

The child says, YELLOW.

Mandisa says, AND CAN YOU CUT SOME LINES ON
YOUR CUPCAKE LINER
TO TURN THEM INTO FLOWER PETALS.

Both children cut into the sides of their cupcake liners.

Mandisa says, VERY, GOOD JOB.

She holds the cupcake liner in place while the brown haired child cuts lines.

Mandisa says, ALL RIGHT.
GOOD JOB, ARJAY.

Arjay, the black haired child, smiles.

Mandisa says, OK, NOW WE NEED TO CHOOSE ONE
SMALL CUPCAKE LINER.

The brown haired child holds up a small cupcake liner.

Mandisa says, YOU ALREADY GOT YOURS.
AND DO THE SAME THING.
CAN YOU TURN YOURS INSIDE OUT SO
WE CAN SEE IT?
YEAH.

The brown haired child flips the small cupcake liner inside out. Arjay starts cutting lines into his small cupcake liner.

Mandisa says, THERE, GOOD.
SOME PETALS.

Arjay says, I CAN DO BY MYSELF
BECAUSE I'M A BIG BOY.

Mandisa says, SO YOU'RE GOING TO PUT JUST A
SMALL AMOUNT OF GLUE
IN THE CENTRE OF YOUR CUPCAKE.
PLACE, YOUR CUP, YOUR SMALL
CUPCAKE IN YOUR LARGER ONE.

The children glue their small cupcake liners to the centre of the larger cupcake liners with the colourful sides facing up.

Mandisa says, WE CAN ADD A POM POM.

Mandisa brings out a bowl of pom poms.

Arjay says, POM POM.

Mandisa says, OR BUTTON.

She brings out a bowl of buttons.

Arjay says, POP POP.

Mandisa says, OR SOME GEMS, YOU CAN ADD A
BUTTON.

She brings out a bowl of gems.

Mandisa says, YOU HAVE ONE FLOWER DONE AND YOU
CAN MAKE ANOTHER ONE.

The children make another flower out of cupcake liners.

Arjay says, LOOK AT MY FLOWER.

He holds up his cut cupcake liner. The children decorate their flowers.

Mandisa says, OK, GUYS, IT'S TIME TO MAKE
OUR STEMS.
I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU THREE
CRAFT STICKS.
WE'RE GOING TO PAINT OUR CRAFT
STICKS GREEN
WITH THESE PAINT STICKS.

Arjay says, MINE'S GONNA BE WHOLE.

The children their paint craft sticks with green paint sticks.

Mandisa says, SO YOU'RE GOING TO PUT
A LITTLE BIT OF GLUE ON THE LEAF
AND THEN YOU'RE GOING TO GLUE IT
ONTO YOUR STEM.

The children glue green construction paper cut outs that look like leaves to their painted craft sticks.

Mandisa says, NOW WE'RE GOING TO BUILD OUR
GARDEN.

She pulls out a white sheet of paper.

Mandisa says, FIRST, WE'RE GOING TO
GLUE OUR STEMS
ONTO OUR SHEETS.
CAN YOU RUN A LINE OF GLUE
ONTO YOUR SHEET OF PAPER?

The children spread lines of glue on their white papers.

Arjay says, DRAW LIKE A TREE.

Mandisa says, YOU'RE GOING TO DO LIKE
A TREE?

Arjay says, YEAH.

Mandisa laughs. The brown haired child glues one of their green craft sticks to their paper.

Mandisa says, GOOD JOB, MCKENNA.

Arjay glues his craft sticks to his paper.

He says, YEAH.

Mandisa says, NOW WE'RE GOING TO GLUE OUR
FLOWER TO OUR STEM.

McKenna, the brown haired child, glues her cupcake liner flowers to her craft stick stems.

Mandisa says, OH, THERE YOU GO.
ALL YOUR OTHER FLOWERS.
OK, THEN ADD SOME GLUE
RIGHT HERE.

Mandisa helps the children glue their flowers.

She says, OK, AND GLUE YOUR FLOWER DOWN.
THESE ARE LOOKING SO GOOD.
YOU WANT TO SHOW EACH OTHER YOUR
FLOWERS?

The children hold up their flower crafts.

Arjay says, MY FLOWER IS COOL.

He looks at McKenna’s craft.

Arjay says, YOU HAVE ONE,
TWO, THREE.
