An airplane flies past the smiling sun. An owl wears a red, yellow, and black scarf. Mandisa Watts, a dark-haired woman, waves as she stands under a tree in a park by a road. She wears a peach-coloured shirt under her blue denim overalls. A floral patterned scarf is tied around her head and pink earrings dandle to her shoulders.

A ladybug lands on a purple flower in front of Mandisa. A school bus travels down the road while a green dinosaur climbs on a bench and a penguin dances in a field.

A puppet fox and a cardboard robot jump into Mandisa’s hands while a giraffe leaps out from behind a bush.

The title reads, “Curious Crafting”.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple crayons streak across the screen.

Mandisa sits at a round green table a colourful craft room. Behind her, a purple wall features a pink flamingo with a very long neck. Crafts, markers, and crafting tools are displayed on shelves on the other walls.

To Mandisa’s left, a girl with curly brown hair looks down at the table. She wears a baggy grey hoodie. On Mandisa’s right side, a boy with curly red hair leans back in his chair. He wears a brown sweater.

Mandisa says,
MY FAVOURITE ANIMAL IS A ZEBRA.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE ANIMAL?

The girl wearing the grey sweater answers,
DRAGON.

The boy wearing the brown sweater shouts,
TURTLE.

Mandisa says,
I THINK I MIGHT HAVE A TURTLE
THAT WE CAN MAKE TODAY.
I'LL GO GRAB IT.
HERE'S MY TURTLE.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE A TURTLE
JUST LIKE THIS?

Mandisa holds up a picture of a green scaly turtle with big googly eyes.

The girl wearing the grey sweater answers,
YEAH.

The kids pick up craft supplies around the room and rush back to the table.

Mandisa says,
FOR THIS TURTLE CRAFT,
WE'VE GOT SHEETS OF CARDBOARD,
GOOGLY EYES, FOOD COLOURING,
PAINT STICKS.
COTTON PADS
AND DON'T FORGET EYE DROPPERS.
AND WE NEED SOMETHING TO PUT OUR
TURTLES ON.
DO WE USE THE...

The girl wearing the grey sweater points to cardboard on the table.

Mandisa says, THE CARDBOARD.

A green crayon makes a checkmark

THERE'S ONE FOR YOU, ONE
FOR YOU.
OK, WHAT SHAPE IS MY
TURTLE'S BODY?

A paintbrush with green paint on it circles Mandisa’s turtle picture.

Mandisa hands the boy wearing the brown sweater a green marker.

She says,
LIKE A CIRCLE.
SO WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT JUST
A BIG CIRCLE
RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR
PIECE OF CARDBOARD.
HOW MANY LEGS DOES OUR TURTLE
HAVE?

The kids answer, FOUR!

Mandisa asks,
CAN YOU MAKE FOUR LITTLE
CIRCLES?
GOOD JOB.

The kids draw circles on their cardboard with green markers.

Mandisa says,
CAN YOU COLOUR IN YOUR
TURTLE'S LEGS?

The girl wearing the grey sweater draws a small circle.

She says,
THAT'S THE HEAD.
NOW WE ARE GOING TO GIVE OUR
TURTLES SOME...

The boy wearing the brown sweater shouts,
EYES!

The girl wearing the grey sweater says,
I NEED TINY TINY EYES.

Mandisa replies,
YOU WANT TINY, TINY EYES, OK?
YOU WANT TO CHOOSE TWO TINY,
TINY EYES.

The boy wearing the brown sweater says,
AND I WANT BIG EYES.

Mandisa replies,
OK, I'LL LET YOU CHOOSE TWO BIG
GOOGLY EYES.

The kids search through a bowl filled with googly eyes. Mandisa opens a bottle of glue.

She says,
OK, NAYLA, CAN YOU GLUE DOWN
YOUR EYES ON YOUR TURTLE HEAD?

Nayla, the girl wearing the grey sweater, matches up her googly eyes.

She says, PERFECT SIZE.

The boy wearing the brown sweater shows Mandisa large matching googly eyes.

He says,
LOOK HOW BIG ARE MINE.

Mandisa replies,
I LOVE THOSE GOOGLY EYES.
MY FAVOURITE THING ARE BIG
GOOGLY EYES.

The boy wearing the brown sweater holds the large googly eyes over his own eyes.

Mandisa says,
SO LET'S TAKE OUR GLUE
AND WE'RE GOING TO PUT SOME
GLUE RIGHT HERE.

Mandisa dabs glue on the turtle head of the boy wearing the brown sweater’s picture. Nayla dabs glue on her own picture.

She says, I'M DOING IT.

Mandisa says,
ALL RIGHT.
LET'S SEE.

The boy wearing the brown sweater presses his googly eyes onto the glue.

Mandisa says,
JOB, GUYS.
AND WE'RE GOING TO SPREAD GLUE
ALL INSIDE OF OUR TURTLE'S BODY.

The kids drag the glue bottle over the turtle body of their pictures. Mandisa picks a white cotton pad out of a red bowl.

She says,
NOW WE CAN START GLUING DOWN
SOME COTTON PADS.
THESE ARE GOING TO BE OUR
TURTLE SHELL.

The kids glue cotton pads to the body of their turtle pictures.

(Cartoon percussion)

The boy wearing the brown sweater dabs more glue on his picture.

He says,
I'M MAKING A REAL
FASHION TURTLE.

Mandisa says, YEAH.

Nayla says,
THE COTTON IS THE
WHOLE SHELL.

Mandisa replies,
THAT'S RIGHT.
SO WE'RE GOING TO DECORATE
OUR SHELLS
WITH SOME COLOURED WATER.

The kids squeeze food colouring into plastic bowls.

Mandisa says,
OH, GOOD, SQUEEZING THERE RIVER.

Nayla squeezes pink food colouring out of a bottle.

She says,
I'M GOING TO ADD
ANOTHER COLOUR.

Mandisa replies,
GREAT, AND THEN WE'RE

Nayla says, GOING TO MIX IT.

Mandisa says,
I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE
EYEDROPPER.

Mandisa and Nayla mix their bowls of food colouring. River, the with curly red hair, joins them

Nayla says, MIX IT UP.

Mandisa replies,
BUT WE SQUEEZE THE TOP HERE
AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I
SQUEEZE IT.
THE WATER COMES UP.

Mandisa fills an eyedropper with pink food colouring.

Nayla says, LOTS OF COLOURS.

Mandisa replies,
OH, RIVER, I LOVE THAT GREEN.

River squeezes blue colour on his turtle shell. Nayla uses pink.

She says, I'M DONE.

Mandisa replies, WOW, NAYLA.

Nayla adds, LOOK AT MINE.

River pours dark green colouring onto his turtle shell.

Mandisa says,
OH RIVER.
I LOVE THE WAY THAT YOU GOT
YOUR BLUE
TO GO ON YOUR TURTLE IN THE
MIDDLE THERE.

Mandisa picks up River’s turtle.

Nayla shouts, WE DID IT!

River looks at his hands.

He says,
I HAVE TO WASH MY HANDS.

Mandisa replies,
WE HAVE TO WASH OUR HANDS.

Mandisa, River, and Nayla pick up their turtle crafts.

Mandisa says,
MY TURTLE WANTS TO MEET
YOUR TURTLE.

Nayla rubs the cardboard on the wet table.

She says, I'M DRYING THE TABLE.

Mandisa replies,
YOU'RE DRYING THE TABLE.

The dinosaur, the penguin, the robot, the fox, the giraffe, and the owl smile in the park. The school bus travels down the road.
