Little Malabar, child with blonde hair, holds a grey unicorn stuffed animal. Little Malabar wears a white shirt with an orange circle on it and blue shorts. Little Malabar jumps on an asteroid and smiles.

[Upbeat music plays]

A child sings, TO THE
MOON AND BACK

[Laughs]

The child sings, I JUMP ON EVERY
PLANET AND EVERY STAR
C'MON, LET'S GO FAR.
EXPLORE THE WHOLE UNIVERSE,
LITTLE MALABAR

Text reads, “Little Malabar. Music by Fred Pallem.

A voice says, DRAWINGS ON
THE MOON.

[Giggling, crickets chirp]

Little Malabar draws a line in sand with his toe as the moon and a kangaroo watches.

Little Malabar says, A PRETTY LINE HERE.
OKAY, AND NOW, A PRETTY CIRCLE.

[Grunting, whoosh, thump]

The kangaroo jumps on the sand and creates a picture of a flower.

[Laughing]

Little Malabar says, GOOD JOB,
KANGAROO, YOU DREW A
PRETTY FLOWER!

The moon says, VERY NICE,
YOU ARTISTS REALLY DRAW WELL.

BUT I THINK YOU FORGOT
AN IMPORTANT LITTLE DETAIL.

Little Malabar says, WE DID?
BUT WHAT?

The moon says, WELL, YOU ARE ON
THE BEACH, AND THE OCEAN RISES.

Water moves over the drawings.

[Water splashes]

Little Malabar says, HM?

[Gasp, groan]

Little Malabar says, OH, NO, NO, NO!

[Water splashes, crickets chirp]

The moon says, YOU SHOULD
DO YOUR DRAWINGS ON ME!
UP HERE, THERE IS NO
OCEAN TO ERASE THEM.

Little Malabar says, YOU HEAR
THAT, KANGAROO?

ALL RIGHT, LET'S GO!

Little Malabar jumps and sits on kangaroo’s back. Kangaroo jumps to the top a high hill and jumps up to the moon.

[Boinging, exciting music plays]

Little Malabar says, OH, THERE ARE
ALREADY LOTS OF DRAWINGS UP
HERE. BUT, WHO MADE THEM?

Kangaroo jumps in small craters.

Little Malabar says, OH, THAT'S RIGHT,
KANGAROO. MAYBE THOSE ARE ANIMAL
TRACKS! BUT WHICH ANIMAL?

HA! AN ACROBATIC TURTLE?

[Whoosh, giggling]

Little Malabar says, HA!
AN ARMADILLO COLONY?

[Squeaking, rustling]

Little Malabar says, OR MAYBE
AN ENORMOUS WHALE?

[Whale sings]

Little Malabar says, BOY OH BOY,
LOOK AT ALL THESE FOOTPRINTS.

[Moon chuckles]

The moon says, LITTLE MALABAR,
THOSE AREN'T FOOTPRINTS MADE
BY ANIMALS, THOSE ARE MY CRATERS!
A LOVELY COLLECTION, DON'T
YOU THINK?

Little Malabar says, OH YES, BUT
WHAT ABOUT ALL THESE
CRATERS? WHO DREW THEM?

The moon explains, THE METEORITES
DID THIS. THEY'RE GIANT ROCKS
FLYING THROUGH SPACE,

AND THEY BEGAN THEIR WORK
A LONG, LONG TIME AGO, WHEN
I WAS VERY YOUNG.

Little Malabar says, OH! BUT MOON,
WHERE HAVE YOUR CRATERS GONE?

Little Malabar and kangaroo stand on top of the moon’s smooth surface.

Moon says, THEY HAVEN'T BEEN
CREATED YET.

LOOK THERE, LITTLE MALABAR.
HERE COME THE ARTISTS NOW.

Meteorites fall on the moon.

[Cheering, thud, laughing]

Meteorites say, WHEE!

Little Malabar says, HEY!

[Giggles, upbeat music plays]

Little Malabar says, IT'S A
METEORITE SHOWER!

WHOA, THESE METEORITES
ARE CRAZY.

A meteorite says, WE'RE NOT
CRAZY AT ALL!

A second meteorite explains, WE LOVE
CREATING PRETTY, ROUND CRATERS
ON THE MOON.

A group of meteorites says, AND NOW,
THE LITTLE CIRCLE DANCE!

[Thudding]

A third meteorites says, NOT A
LITTLE CIRCLE, ERASE THAT AND
LET'S MAKE A HUGE CIRCLE!

[Thud]

A fourth meteorite says, RIGHT,
WE'LL PUT THE LITTLE CIRCLE
RIGHT HERE. AH!

[Thudding, upbeat music plays]

Meteorites hit the moon.

The moon says, AND THAT WENT
ON FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

THERE WERE ALWAYS NEW
METEORITES COMING TO
CREATE BRAND NEW CRATERS
ON TOP OF THE OLD CRATERS.

AND THEN, LITTLE BY LITTLE,
THINGS CALMED DOWN.

Little Malabar says, THOSE
METEORITES WERE REALLY
GOOD AT THEIR JOB.

BUT TODAY, WE'RE GOING
TO MAKE DRAWINGS.

[Grunting]

The moon smiles.

[Rustling, thumping, happy music plays]

Little Malabar and kangaroo draw in the dirt on the moon’s surface.

The moon says, OH, A
SELF-PORTRAIT! NICE ONE,
LITTLE MALABAR.

GREAT JOB, KANGAROO.
IT'S DRAWN PERFECTLY.

A fifth meteorite says, WAIT FOR
ME, I WANNA PARTICIPATE IN
THE FUN, TOO! WHOO!

[Thud]

Little Malabar asks, THERE'S STILL
METEORITES TODAY? WOW, LOOK,
IT DREW A CLOWN NOSE ON ME!

[Laughs]

A sixth meteorite says, AND HERE
I COME TO ERASE EVERYTHING
AND MAKE A NEW DRAWING!

[Thump]

A meteorite hits the moon and knocks Little Malabar and kangaroo back to their planet.

The moon asks, IS EVERYTHING
OKAY, LITTLE MALABAR?

Little Malabar pokes his head out of kangaroo’s pouch.

Little Malabar says, YEAH!

[Giggles]

He says, I'M RIGHT HERE!

[Whoosh]

Moon says, OH, GOOD.

IT'S TOO BAD ABOUT YOUR
DRAWING. I REALLY LIKED IT
A LOT.

[Upbeat music plays]

Little Malabar says, WELL, THAT'S
REALLY OKAY, MOON. WE CAN MAKE
NEW DRAWINGS ALL THE TIME.
WATCH THIS!

Little Malabar uses a finger to draw in sand. Kangaroo across the drawing.

[Grunting, thudding, hooting]

Little Malabar says, AND NOW,
THE FINAL TOUCH.

Little Malabar wraps his arms around his knees and jumps into the sand.

[Upbeat music plays]

Little Malabar says, AND, HA!
AND, HA!

[Giggles]

Little Malabar says, AND, HA!

YOU SEE THIS?

[Giggles]

LOTS OF PRETTY CRATERS!

[Giggles]

Little Malabar sits on his picture of the smiling moon.

[Upbeat music plays, crashing]

A narrator says, A LONG TIME AGO,
LOTS AND LOTS OF ROCKS FELL
ON THE MOON, AND THEY DREW
THE CRATERS.

THE MOST RECENT CRATERS
COVERED UP THE OLD ONES.

[Upbeat music plays]

End credits roll.
