Little Malabar is a curious little boy who travels in space jumping on planets. He is blond and wears a white t-shirt with the sun and blue shorts.

Little Malabar sings, TO THE MOON AND BACK.

Little Malabar giggles.

He says, HA-HA!

Little Malabar jumps from a planet to an asteroid.

He sings, I JUMP ON EVERY PLANET
AND EVERY STAR
C'MON, LET'S GO FAR.
EXPLORE THE WHOLE UNIVERSE,
LITTLE MALABAR.

A narrator says, THE LABYRINTH OF THE NIGHT.

Little Malabar giggles as he puts together pieces of bamboo.

He says, I DID IT, I FINISHED!

A giraffe joins Malabar.

Little Malabar says, HELLO, GIRAFFE.
SEE THIS? I JUST MADE SOME
STILTS WITH SOME BAMBOO.

Little Malabar climbs onto his stilts. He walks on the stilts.

He says, AND I'M GOING TO MAKE
TALLER STILTS TO BE
EVEN BIGGER THAN YOU!

The land around Little Malabar and Giraffe shakes.

Little Malabar says, WHOA, WHOA!

Little Malabar stumbles on his stilts. He leaps onto Giraffe and gasps, dropping his stilts.

(Rumbling)

The island Little Malabar is on shakes.

Little Malabar says, I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO PLAY
WITH MY STILTS…

A wave splashes Little Malabar and Giraffe.

Little Malabar says, …IF THE EARTH SHAKES
LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME.

Giraffe jumps to the top of a mountain with Little Malabar and the stilts as it starts to shake again.

(Rumbling)

Giraffe leaps to another planet.

(Grunting)

Little Malabar watches the Earth shake.

He says, TELL ME, WHY ARE YOU SHAKING
LIKE THAT, EARTH? ARE YOU OKAY?

Earth says, I AM JUST FINE, LITTLE MALABAR.
IT'S VERY WARM ON MY SURFACE,
AND THAT MAKES ME TREMBLE,
AND SO YOUR ISLAND SHAKES TOO.

(Rumbling)

Earth starts to tremble.

Earth says, OH, I'M SORRY,
BUT I JUST CAN'T HELP IT.

Little Malabar giggles.

He says, NO PROBLEM.
BUT TO WALK ON MY STILTS,
MAYBE I SHOULD GO
SOMEWHERE ELSE?

Earth says, WHY DON'T YOU GO TO MARS?
UP ON MARS, IT NEVER
SHAKES AT ALL.

Little Malabar says, GREAT IDEA. LET'S GO!

Giraffe leaps off the planet. Giraffe and Little Malabar soar to a red planet.

Little Malabar says, A CANYON?
AND SLEEPING VOLCANOES?

Little Malabar admires the planet. He grunts as he slides down Giraffe’s neck.

Little Malabar says, NOTHING IS MOVING HERE,
IT'S PERFECT.

Little Malabar high-fives Giraffe’s tongue and unpacks the bamboo pieces for his stilts. Little Malabar puts together his stilts and giggles. He gives Giraffe a thumbs up. One of the three sleeping volcanoes wakes up.

The volcano says, HUH? WHAT ARE THOSE TWO
DOING OVER THERE?

A second volcano says, BIZARRE.
YES, WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING?

Little Malabar says, HELLO THERE, VOLCANOES.
WE CAME HERE TO PLAY
ON MY STILTS, BECAUSE EARTH
SOMETIMES SHAKES TOO MUCH.

The third volcano says, DID YOU KNOW THAT
A LONG TIME AGO...

The second volcano says, …SOMETIMES IT ALSO
SHOOK ON MARS.

The first volcano says, THAT'S RIGHT, AND IT REALLY
SHOOK A LOT RIGHT HERE.

Planet Mars says, YES, WHEN I WAS YOUNG,
I SHOOK A LOT.

Mars spins.

Mars says, LIKE THAT!

Little Malabar says, WELL, NOW IT DOESN'T SHAKE,
BUT WHERE HAVE
THE VOLCANOES GONE?

The third volcano says, WE'RE OVER HERE!

The three volcanos are flattened on the planet.

The second volcano says, BUT WE HAVEN'T GROWN YET.

The first volcano says, GET READY, IT'S GOING TO
SHAKE NOW.

(Rumbling)

Mars shakes. Little Malabar and Giraffe stumble as volcanos erupt.

Little Malabar says, WHOA!

Little Malabar giggles as the planet shakes. The three volcanos grunt as they erupt and grow.

Little Malabar says, THE VOLCANOES ARE GROWING
LIKE MUSHROOMS HERE.

Mars says, OH MY OH MY, IT'S GETTING
WARMER AND WARMER UP HERE.

Mars grunts and lava erupts from the planet.

The third volcano says, THAT'S HOW, A LONG TIME AGO,

All three volcanos say, US VOLCANOES ON MARS...

The third volcano erupts, followed by the second.

The first volcano says, …WE VOLCANOES GREW UP!

The first volcano erupts. Little Malabar giggles as he bounces across the shaking planet.

The second volcano says, HOLD ON TIGHT, YOU HAVEN'T
SEEN ANYTHING YET.

The volcanos continue to grow. Little Malabar giggles as he bounces across the shaking planet. The planet floor cracks, separating him and Giraffe.

Little Malabar says, HEY, GIRAFFE!
WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Little Malabar slips through a cracks.

He says, WHOA! WOO-HOO!

Little Malabar slides down between two cracks.

He says, THE SLIDE!

Malabar’s stilts drop down beside him.

He says, HEY, WHAT HAPPENED?

The first volcano says, WELL, IT BECAME SO HOT
ON THE SURFACE OF MARS...

The third volcano says, …THAT ITS CRUST BEGAN TO MOVE
AND BECAME CRACKED!

The second volcano says, AND THESE ENORMOUS
CANYONS WERE FORMED.

The third volcano says, WELCOME TO...

All three volcanos say, …THE LABYRINTH
OF THE NIGHT.

Little Malabar says, A LABYRINTH? WOW!
NOW LET'S ALL TRY
TO FIND GIRAFFE.

Little Malabar climbs onto his stilts.

He says, OH WOW, THE CANYONS HERE ON MARS
ARE REALLY, REALLY DEEP.
WE HAVE TO FIND GIRAFFE
BEFORE NIGHTTIME,
AND WE CAN'T SEE ANYTHING.

Little Malabar starts walking through the canyons.

He calls, GIRAFFE!
GIRAFFE?

Little Malabar spots Giraffe’s shadow on the ground and giggles.

Little Malabar says, THERE YOU ARE.
TOGETHER, WE CAN FIND
OUR WAY OUT.

Little Malabar giggles. His head pops up at the top of the canyon.

He says, IT'S THAT WAY, GIRAFFE.
LET'S GO!

Little Malabar balances his stilts on Giraffe’s head as Giraffe walks on their own stilts.

Little Malabar says, TURN RIGHT,
AND TURN LEFT NOW.

Little Malabar and Giraffe make their way through the canyon.

Little Malabar says, THE EXIT, WE FOUND IT!
WOW.

Little Malabar admires the night sky.

The first volcano says, WELL DONE.

The third volcano says, YOU HAVE FOUND THE MOST
GIGANTIC CANYON
OF ALL CANYONS ON MARS.

The second volcano says, YOU HAVE FOUND...

All the volcanos say, …THE VALLES
MARINERIS.

Little Malabar says, THANK YOU, VOLCANOES.
WANNA GO HOME NOW, GIRAFFE?

Giraffe says, MM-HMM.

Giraffe drops theirs and Malabar’s stilts and leaps into the air.

Little Malabar calls, GOODBYE, MARS!

Little Malabar and Giraffe fly through space.

Little Malabar says, IT WAS REALLY FUN TO PLAY
IN THE LABYRINTH OF THE NIGHT.

Little Malabar cuddles with Giraffe back on Earth.

Little Malabar says, GOOD NIGHT,
AND SWEET DREAMS, GIRAFFE.

The narrator says, LONG AGO,
THE SURFACE OF MARS SHOOK
SO MUCH THAT IMMENSE
CANYONS WERE FORMED.
IT'S CALLED "THE LABYRINTH
OF THE NIGHT," AND IT ENDS
IN THE VALLES MARINERIS.
